The weekend ended with homework and movies. Yugi felt at peace with her friends as they laughed. Later that night Tea walked with her back to her dorm where she took a shower and got ready for the next day before they made the trek back to Yami's room. Everyone said their good nights before Yami and Yugi laid down on the small twin sized bed together.
"Are you okay?" Yami asked.
Yugi shifted closer to him before answering, "Yeah, I was just thinking."
"What were you thinking about?"
"The plan for class tomorrow. I was just wondering if Joey would be able to pick me up from Archeology tomorrow instead of you," Yugi explained, hurt showed in Yami's voice when he asked why. "Mai is in that class and I'm sure Joey would like to visit her as well."
"Oh that would make a lot of sense," Yami exclaimed. He reached around Yugi who was on the side of the bed towards the room and grabbed his phone. After a quick flash of light from the screen and a few clicks Yami sent Joey a text asking if he would want to pick Yugi up the next day. A few seconds later Yami's phone pinged letting Yami know that Joey approved the change in the plan and would gladly pick Yugi up from Archeology the next day.
After the change was approved the two lovers laid back down in the bed and fell asleep in each other's arms.
Monday
"Hey Yugi how are you doing?" Tristan asked as Yugi approached him. She had just finished her evening class and the two of them were going to head to the student center to get some food.
Yugi and Tristan started walking, "I'm doing fine. Thank you for coming here and picking me up I know you have a lot of other things you could be doing right now."
"Don't worry Yugi, this is my break from working on homework. I am actually glad that I came here so I could stretch my legs. How was Joey this morning when he pick you up from your earlier class?"
Yugi sighed, "He kind of went a little overboard and started playing cope. He tried to question everyone that came out of my classroom to see if any of them were working for Brian. Security came and we were walked out of the building."
Tristan laughed, "I guess you don't want him to pick you up again."
"I think we came to an agreement, he says hi to me and then we walk back to the rest of our friends."
Still laughing Tristan replied, "Yeah that might be best."
Tuesday
"Hey Yugi how are you today?" Tea asked. Yugi had just stepped out of the classroom.
"It was fine. How has your day been?" Yugi replied as the two girls started walking towards the library to meet everyone for a group study session.
"My day was fine. Tristan and I went for a ride on his bike when we were taking a break from school work."
"That sounds like fun!" Yugi exclaimed. She didn't know that Tea and Tristan had been hanging out as much as they were.
"Yeah it was a lot of fun and he said he would take me out on a short trip this weekend," Tea said in delight.
"That's great! I hope you have a lot of fun!" Yugi said. The rest of the walk to the library was full of talk of Tristan and Tea's weekend.
Wednesday
"Hello little one"
"Hi Yami," Yugi replied with a large happy grin. Yami had yet to have the time to pick her up from a class this week. Today he was leaning against the wall with his backpack slung over his shoulder right outside of her classroom. She gave him a quick half hug when she got near him which he returned happily. They broke apart except for clasped hands and walked down the hallway with the other students who were making there way to the exit of the building.
"What were you thinking we should do today?" Yugi asked looking down at their clasped hands.
"Well I was thinking we could go to one of the nearby restaurants and get a nice lunch before heading back to my room for a movie,"
Yugi hummed, "I think that sounds like a wonderful idea."
The couple found themselves enjoying a wonderful afternoon with each other. Yugi wouldn't say anything about it but was extremely happy to get a little bit of time out with Yami alone after the incident with Brian over the weekend. Yami had been very uptight after the incident and wouldn't let her out of the site of himself or their friends. More often than not he requested that at least one of their friends were present when the two of them were out of his dorm room for more than five minutes.
Thursday
"Hey Yug how was class?" Joey asked when Yugi stepped out of her Archeology class on Thursday. It had been several days since the incident with Brian and no one had seen him yet.
"Hey Joey, the class was good. We learned some stuff about King Tut's tomb," Yugi explained when she reached her friend.
"Well if it isn't Joey," A female voice called from the direction of the classroom that students were still exiting the classroom.
"Hey Mai, what's up?" Joey asked. Hearts were forming in his eyes as he stared at the girl.
"I was wondering what you were doing for the rest of the day."
"Well," Joey started looking for Yugi for help. He had promised to hang out with her for the day because Yami and the rest of the gang were all in class until late that day. Yugi gave him a look and gestured towards Mai. She wanted her friend to be happy and to have a girlfriend that he deserves. "I guess I'm free for the rest of the day." He finally said with a small smile.
"Great! Do you want to go out to the mall with me? There is a shuttle from the school leaving at 4:45 today," Mai said with her hand on her hip in a "you better say yes" attitude.
"Uh, sure," Joey finally said.
"Great!" Mai said grabbing Joey by the arm and dragging him towards the exit of the building.
"Be safe you two!" Yugi called after them.
"Wait Yug, will you be okay?" Joey called as he was dragged away.
"Yeah I'll be fine. I'll see you later," Yugi called with a smile.
"Okay thanks Yug," Joey called as he turned back to the girl dragging soon disappeared around the corner and out of the door of the building.
'Now what should I do?' Yugi thought to herself looking around at her surroundings. This was the first time she was left alone in close to a week. She realized that everyone else just went into a class and wouldn't be out for an hour or so. Deciding that it looked weird for her to stand in the middle of a deserted hallway Yugi made her way towards the exit of the building. She decided to take the time to go to the small lake by the campus and enjoy the sunshine.
Twenty minutes later Yugi was sitting on the bank of the small lake with her archeology textbook in her lap and earbuds blasting music into her ears. It was the first moment in a week that she felt at peace and relaxed. She bobbed her head to the music as she took notes on the next chapter her class would be discussing.
Unbeknownst to Yugi a dark shadow had been following her at a distance all week. It had stayed far enough back that neither her nor her friends had seen as they moved from one place to another. This shadow was angry because the first night that they were out of the jail they went to the dorm room of the young girl he was after and broke in yet again. Unfortunately she was not present. As he exited her dorm he heard her bell like voice in the courtyard and realized that she was in another man's dorm. They had been laughing together, her sitting on the desk in front of the window and him sitting in the chair before it. They were laughing at something on a laptop in front of the man. The shadowy figure balled his hands into fists and growled at the man who took away his precious Yugi.
He followed the girl for the past few days waiting for his chance to grab her. Unfortunately for him, one of her "friends" was always there taking her to her classes and picking her up from class. He debated on going after Yugi when the girl was there but decided against it incase someone else was watching.
Now sitting under a tree not far from where Yugi was now sitting the shadowy figure could not believe his luck. She was sitting unattended in a deserted area of the campus. He could easily rush over and grab her without anyone knowing. Checking his pockets for the items he brought with him to subdue him he got ready to go after the girl.
"Hey Yugi what are you doing here?" A loud female voice suddenly asked. The shadowy figure's head shot up at the sound of the voice. "Ryou," He thought looking at the young girl with white hair now standing beside Yugi.
"Hey Ryou how are you?" Yugi asked with a smile when she realized the white haired girl was beside her.
"I am doing very well, thank you. What are you doing out here all by yourself?" Ryou asked.
"Oh, it has been so cold and icky the past few weeks and when I saw the sunshine out today I just couldn't resist spending some time out here."
Ryou smiled at her friend, "It is really nice out but it's still a bit nippy."
"Yeah," Yugi agreed blowing a little warm air into her palms. Her ungloved hands were a little chilly. "Where were you heading to?" Yugi asked when she saw Ryou had a large bag over her shoulder.
"Oh, I was actually headed over to Malik's room for a study session. She and I have a math test tomorrow morning," Ryou explained with a big smile.
"Oh I hope you do well on your exam then!"
"Thanks Yugi," Ryou said holding her arms out asking for a quick hug. Yugi got up and hugged the girl before she ran off to find Malik's room with a quick good bye.
"Yugi sighed when her friend was out of sight and looked around at the small forested area around the lake. For some reason it felt like someone was watching her.
"It's just because you are alone and you think Brian is out there," she reasoned to herself out loud. Sitting back down Yugi plugged her earbuds back into her ears and went back to her homework.
The figure slowly made his way out of the shadows watching Yugi absorbed in her own little bubble. He slowly approached the young girl to see if she was paying attention. She didn't so much as look up as he walked within ten feet of her. He paused and watched her work in peace before moving around her in a wide circle so he was now behind her. Slowly the man crept up behind her until he could hear the music blasting out of her earbuds. Grabbing a cloth and bottle from his pocket he dabbed some of the contents of the bottle on the towel and crept closer to the girl.
Yugi was lost in the ancient world of Egypt splayed in front of her when the figure came up behind her. The cloth in the stranger's hand was placed over her mouth before she could comprehend the fact. Her eyes widened for only a moment before they closed against her will. Two large arms grabbed her as she fell sideways, her book falling from her lap and her earbuds falling to the ground next to her. Loud music blared from the small devices contrasting badly with the sweet chirping of birds over head.
Brian picked up the unconscious girl and carried her away. Her bag, book, and iPod remained on the ground where she had been sitting.
Hi Guys,
I am very sorry this was so late and so short but I decided to split this into two chapters. The last chapter of this story should be up within the next 2 week. I hope you enjoyed it so far!
