Chp 10
The trio met up with Stan back at Camille Hotel. Stan and Isabel bickered as always. "And you", said Stan, referring to Eric, "The Fellowship has your maker and telepath, but you do nothing". "Stan, remember your place", said Emrys. Before Stan could say anything, Eric pushed him to the wall. "Are you questioning my loyalty, Stan?", asked Eric. "Just trying to return Godric to his rightful position", said Stan. "Oh really? Because I think you might have other agendas", said Eric, "Maybe you think by starting a war with the Fellowship will distract us from the truth".
"That's enough", said Emrys and Isabel swore to herself that Emrys sounded nearly like his father. "We need to find solutions, not problems. So I suggest, let's get inside and sit down and think", said Emrys again. Eric turned towards the door and said, "If Godric is gone, then nothing can bring back what I've lost". He went in and Emrys followed suit. "You know that's not true", said Emrys as he shut the door, "If I know how to go back through time, I'd save mum and grandma. Maybe, this will never happen". "How are you suppose to do that?", asked Eric. "I'm a half warlock, dad. I'll find a way", said Emrys. Eric didn't say a word, merely turn his back and went to his room.
"I'm gonna prove it to him", said Emrys. He peeked through the peep hole and Stan and Isabel weren't there. He grabbed his spell book and quietly left the hotel room. When he reached the church back it was nearly morning. He remembered the way and he cast the invisible and he walked around the church ground till he found the door led to the basement, but the door was locked. "Shit", he mumbled. Then, he heard footsteps and saw Steve and Gabe walking to the door. Emrys stepped aside and let them open the door. He slide in and followed them. Steve found out that Sookie was on undercover. Suddenly, Hugo revealed his true name including Sookie's and he stated their purpose. "What about Eric?", asked Steve. "Don't you dare Hugo", thought Emrys. "He's the Sheriff's relative", said Hugo.
Sookie, Steve and Gabe were shocked. "Vampires can't walk during daylight", said Steve. "He's different. He's a hybrid", said Hugo. "Sookie, don't panic. I'm here, just make him stop!", said Emrys. "Hugo, that's enough and don't be ridiculous!", said Sookie, angrily. "I told you he's different", said Hugo. "From Bon Temp?", asked Steve. "How do you know where I come from?", asked Sookie back. "You're Jason Stackhouse's sis…, sister. Am I right?", said Steve. "You know Jason?", said Sookie, "He's got nothing to do with this!". Steve sighed and said, "Come on, Gabe". "How do you know my brother?!", Sookie yelled but Steve and Gabe just ignored her and left.
Emrys reappeared himself and said, "Way to go, Hugo". "Em, I'm sorry", said Hugo. "Sorry is not enough. You'll get the consequences when you broke the oath", said Emrys. "Em, can you open it?", asked Sookie. "I can't Sookie. I don't have the key", said Emrys. "Well…, use your magic", said Sookie. Emrys flipped through the book and look for the spell, but Hugo was being impatient as he started to bang the metal door. Sookie grabbed his hand to calm him down, but then let it go because she realized something.
"Em, he's one of them, one of the Fellowship of the Sun", said Sookie. "What?!", said Emrys. He turned to Hugo and said, "You're the traitor? Isabel trusted you!". Hugo suddenly swelled and felt like something is choking him. "Emrys, what are you doing?", asked Sookie. "I'm punishing him", said Emrys. "Emrys, stop! We don't have time for this", said Sookie. Then, they heard the door was being unlocked. "Emrys, hide and whatever happens don't reveal yourself", said Sookie. Emrys became invinsible and saw Gabe coming in and unlocking the metal door. When Hugo pleaded for protection, Gabe beat him. Sookie tried to interfered, Gabe grabbed her in a choke hold and tried to rape her, but Emrys reappeared himself and held Gabe by the shoulder and slammed him to the wall. He snapped Gabe's neck, killing him instantly.
"Why are you here?", said Godric as he came out of his hiding place. "Um, rescue you?", said Emrys. "Where's your father?", asked Godric and Emrys motioned with his eyes that Sookie is here. Sookie gave them an odd look. "You should not have come", said Godric. Then, both Godric and Emrys sensed another vampire coming. Sookie thought was Bill, but then Eric appeared, kneeling in front of Godric. "You were a fool to send humans after me…, and him", said Godric. Eric turned and growled. Emrys gulped because he knew he was in trouble.
"You know the consequences", said Eric. "I saved your telepath! Be thankful for that!", said Emrys. Eric turned to Godric and said, "I have no other choice. These…, savages, they seek to destroy you". "I'm aware of what they've planned. This is who betrayed you", said Godric as he pointed to Hugo. "He's with the Fellowship", said Emrys. "They've set a trap for us", said Sookie. "How long is it since you've been fed?", asked Eric. "I've required very little blood anymore", said Godric. Suddenly, the alarm was set off. "Shit!", said Emrys. "Language, Emrys", said Godric, "Save them. Go on". "I'm not leaving you…", said Eric and Godric cut him, saying that he could take care of himself. "We have to go", said Sookie.
"Spill no blood on your way out", said Godric, "That goes to you too, Emrys". Eric got up and Sookie went out first, then Emrys and lastly Eric. When they reached the top, Eric and Emrys poked their heads a little and saw the people were exiting the church in an orderly manner. "Those humans won't think twice about hurting us", said Eric. "Em, use your magic", said Sookie. "Sorry, I could only shadow one and there are three of us", said Emrys. "Why don't you bring Bill with you?", asked Sookie. "His attachment to you is irrational. It'll cloud his judgment. He will kill everyone in this church", said Eric. "Why don't you?", said Sookie, cynically and Emrys was tempted to get his fangs out.
"I'm following Godric's order and get the two of you out. That's all", said Eric. "He's your maker, isn't he?", asked Sookie. "Don't use words that you don't understand", said Eric. "You have a lot of love for him", said Sookie. "Don't use words that I don't understand", said Eric an Emrys merely chuckled. They poked their heads back out and the 'soldiers' had already closed the door. Eric wanted to go out, but Sookie protested. He walked till their faces were inches away and said, "Trust me. Look after him". Eric walked out and tried to act human. "This is so gonna be epic fail", Emrys muttered to himself.
Eric talked to them in Southern accent. Emrys gave himself a face palm and said, "This is embarrassing. It's like high school all over again". Eric glamoured one of them into handing his stake, but the bald guy tried to stake Eric and Eric managed to dodge because Emrys and Sookie warned him. Eric shoved the two and pinned one to the wall with the stake on his neck while the other two went off running. "Eric, you don't have to kill him", said Sookie. Eric released the man and opened the door, only to find a group of people heading towards their way.
They changed course and headed towards the sanctuary. "Where's the exit?", asked Eric. Sookie pointed at 2 o'clock and said, "That way", but their movements were halted when they saw Steve walking towards them. "For you, the easiest one is straight to hell", said Steve. Then, the door opened and groups of people came in through all doors, bearing silver chains and wooden stakes. Inside, Eric panicked. What would happen if they knew Emrys's true nature? They would've killed them too and he will not let that happened.
"Let us leave!", Sookie tried to plead, "Save yourself. No one has to die!". "The war has begun, you evil whore Satan", said Steve, "You vampires had cast the first stone by killing my family. The lines have been drawn, you either with us or against us. We are prepared for Armageddon". "The vampire you're holding prisoner got away", Sookie lied and Eric and Emrys looked at her curiously. "He's a sheriff. He's bound to send for help", said Sookie again. "I'm not concerned with Godric. Any vampire will do for our grand celebration and we got one right here", said Steve as he pointed to Eric.
Emrys shot a panicked look at his father, but Eric remained calmed. Emrys shooked his head, but Eric gave an 'I'll-be-fine' look. "I'll be fine. Look after him", he whispered to Sookie. Eric walked towards Steve and Emrys felt so helpless. "Brothers and sisters", said Steve, "There will be a holy bonfire at dawn". He laughed evilly and Emrys just want to rip him to bits and pieces.
