Special 1
Memories of a Week Ago.
First Week…
Second job: Rescue a group of civilians from the vulcans…
Luminer was surprised at this one. He read and even fought vulcans before, concluding that they were the most weakest of enemies –besides bandits- that he could choose to fight if given the question; they were mindless ape-like creatures that defended their territories or what they deemed theirs, and only fought with their fists –something that he respected when the enemy fought like that in a wise manner- wildly and not thinking about how to defeat their enemies, probably believing that by hitting them strong enough, they have won and the danger was gone.
They lived in caverns in the deepest of the forests or the highest of the mountains, thing that he didn't like.
Why? He had to take a ride to reach those destinations or at least be close to them; he was sick and tired of riding trains from one town to another to complete those jobs! Why did he have to ride a damn carriage to reach his objective when he was close to it already and he could just walk there?
"You must be kidding me." Luminer said plainly to the woman next to him, staring at the carriage before them with a blank face. He was sure he left clear he didn't want to use this thing to reach their destination. He had enough with the train ride to this small town.
"No, I'm not; we need to get there fast so we have to take a ride." Erza explained yet again. She was sure it was the twelfth time that hour the man questioned her about their method of travelling. Sure, she saw by herself how bad his motion-sickness was, but he needed to prioritize the mission. She had times when she was spent or with many injuries, but she never let them bother her while there were still things to do. "Get inside, we're leaving."
"No way." The pink-haired answered quickly, turning around and crossing his arms to make a point. "I won't move from here."
"Luminer, get inside the car now." The red-haired woman ordered slowly, fighting back the urge to knock the man out and get him in without his consent. How childish could he be?
"I said no." Luminer repeated stubbornly, sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, not paying any mind to the people starting to gather around them and looking at the scene in wonder.
"Luminer." Erza called for the man one last time, feeling the last bits of her already spent patience to prevent a scene from happening. "Get. Inside. NOW."
"Are you really that dense, woman?" The sage growled tiredly, not standing her and her bossy attitude with him. He stood up and went to face her, glaring at her shadowed eyes with all of his annoyance, not noticing the clenched fists at her sides. "I said I'm not-"
He had to stop that sentence midway when he caught a glimpse of her knee heading straight to his groin, his arms moving out of instinct and his hands stopping the strike from hitting him. He paled when he felt the strength behind the hit, his eyes moving again to look at the brown ones of his partner.
She was seriously mad.
"I'll make sure you get inside that car, either conscious or not." Erza growled lowly, digging holes in the Councilor's head with her piercing glare. He gulped down some saliva out of nervousness. "It's your choice."
'Jeez… she has the same patience Igneel had with me…' The pink-haired sage thought with some nostalgia, his eyes softening a bit at the memories. The red dragon never stood to his protests or childish antics, always beating him to a pulp whenever he got into a mood of not practicing or learning something the old creature had to share. He let go of her leg and nodded, moving to enter the carriage once and for all. 'Why is it that she brings back so many memories?'
Oh, yeah. Titania forced him to do just that. He could have said 'no' to her and do as he pleased, right? He's a sage, after all. But then, she would've threatened to 'punish him' if he dared to disobey her. He was a sage, alright, a sage scared of an armored-kick to the groin. So he listened to her, suffering the travels with a dizzy stomach.
"J-just to be… ugh… clear…" Luminer tried to say once he stepped inside the vehicle, his insides churning and twisting even though the thing had yet to start moving. His butt fell on the seat roughly and his hands held his stomach for dear life. "I-I got inside… gah… because I wanted to… okay?"
Erza rolled her eyes at the words, taking the seats opposite to the wizard without paying mind to his pained groans or rumbling belly. She was sure she never witnessed anything like that before but she it wasn't either something to be completely astonishing to see. Except for the part it was a Councilor suffering from such a ridiculous weakness. "Whatever you say, Luminer."
He wasn't that mad about the woman's orders since she knew how to stop his dizziness, surprising him completely. He knew how much of an impossible feat to achieve it was when Jellal and Ultear tried to cure him from that weakness he had so it was certainly a surprise.
'F-fuck dammit…' The pink-haired thought pitifully, clutching his stomach the strongest he could. His insides felt like gushing everything out any second now and the rocky path the carriage was taking didn't do anything to alleviate his suffering. If anything, it made it worse. Ten times worse. 'I-It's a wonder… I haven't thrown up yet…'
'Is he really suffering that much?' The knight wondered in her mind, seeing the man lie down on the seat completely to suppress the grumbles of his digestive organ. He was sweating, she noted, keeping his eyes shut strongly while his teeth gritted in an ear-splitting melody. She sweatdropped. It was worse than when they took the train to that town. "Need some help?"
"O-oh no… I-I'm fine…" Luminer answered sarcastically, opening one eye to glare at the woman who was asking such question. "Y-you're the r-reason I'm in pain n-" He contained the urge to barf and breathed heavily. "D-don't… guh… j-just stop it…"
Erza stared at him for a moment longer, sighing and shaking her head before standing up the best she could in the small cabin, and taking a seat next to the Councilor's head. She picked his head and laid it on her lap as carefully as she could, brushing a few strands of his hair away from his face and stopping his squirming for a moment.
'W-what is she doing…?' The man asked mentally to himself, ignoring his inner torture for the sake of seeing what the woman was doing. In a strange way, the slow, measured brushing of his hair was soothing, almost sleep-inducing. His eyes felt heavy all of the sudden, blurry the image of the knight and her emotionless face. '…s-so sleepy…'
She just laid his head on her lap and brushed his hair slowly, letting him rest quietly while travelling from one town to another without complaining about his slight snoring but she did complain about his drooling and constant moving, making her point clear when one of his hands moved and rested on top of a 'certain forbidden area'.
'He's starting to take advantage of this.' Erza thought bitterly, remembering the lewd words he spoke to her when they fought a couple of days ago and, taking it together with what was happening now, it was proof of his original perverted personality. She ignored the last movement of the pink-haired and how the drool at the corner of his mouth stained her blue skirt, closing her eyes and gritting her teeth behind her lips, a small vein popping in her temple when the sleeping sage moved again. "Luminer."
"Uh…?" The man answered in his sleep.
"Stop moving, please." She muttered quietly, her voice carrying the awkwardness she was feeling from their current situation.
"Uh-huh…" The sage answered again, shifting one last time in his sleep and returning to his original position.
'That's better I guess-' Her eyes widened when she suddenly felt something warm under her skirt, the intruder coming too close to a really sensitive area of her body. She tried to suppress it, the scream wanting to burst from her lungs, and looked down at her legs. Her eyes saw red despite the many pleasurable shivers running down her spine. "L-L-Luminer…" She hissed lowly. "…stop now."
"Mhmmm…" Luminer hummed in his sleep, seemingly agreeing to her words and moving his hand away much to her relief. She sighed all of her anxiety away and leaned back on the seat, thinking it would be best to rest some time herself before they got to their destination. But then, he shifted in his sleep again, lying face down on her legs, burying his face in between them when he felt content with the softness of his pillow and wanted to feel more of it. "I-it feels… good…"
He didn't know that he was dangerously rubbing his nose close to that sensitive area again.
"K-k-k-k-kyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
So he earned a well-deserved punch that sent him flying towards their destination, the action itself stopping and breaking the ceiling of the carriage in less than a second, and allowing the driver to see the rocketing form of the sage disappear in the distance while the red-haired woman tried to control her breathing and madly beating heart.
The nickname 'pervert' followed him for most of that day and it was humiliating to hear her call him like that when they were rescuing the civilians, some of them already surprised by how he acts to be even more shocked when they heard his new nickname.
Vulcans.
Luckily, he had the group of creatures to let out his frustration.
Second Week…
First day in Fairy Tail…
"Stop saying I'm a child, dammit!" Luminer yelled exasperated, the woman getting to his nerves.
And while their fight continued and continued without any of the sides giving up, the rest of the guild stared in shock at the situation and the actions of their strict knight, several of them passing out from the shock and some even considering the surreal situation to be the worst of nightmares, since Erza Scarlet would never hit someone of such a high position or bicker with him like they were seeing at the moment.
Erza was hitting and insulting a Council member.
The world surely went insane.
"Denial." Erza answered plainly, stopping the pink-hair's ranting and leaving him glaring at her when he caught to what she was implying. She shook her head in amusement and went to one of the free tables of the place, not bothering to acknowledge the incredulous stares of her guild mates. "You really are a child, Luminer."
"I swear to the Chairman and every single Councilor that I'll have my revenge, woman." Luminer growled lowly as he followed the knight's steps and took a seat on the same table, laying his left elbow on the surface and using it to support his head with his hand. He looked around at the flabbergasted face of the wizards and snorted quietly to himself and his host. "So what now, Titania?"
"We wait for the others to be ready." She explained with a soft glare sent in the other mages' direction, finally getting enough of their eavesdropping. She knew and could understand how shocking it was to see someone from the Council sitting inside Fairy Tail out of all the guilds in Fiore, but there were still manners to respond to. Like how improper it is to stare at a person for too long. "Mira."
"Yes, Erza?" The white-haired barmaid called from behind the counter, smiling cheerfully when the red-head and her companion glanced at her, waving a hand in greeting to the Councilor that was answered with a small grin and wave back. "What do you need?"
"The usual, please." Erza replied simply, closing her eyes and folding her arms over her chest plate while waiting for the girl to bring her order.
"She seems nice." Luminer commented idly, keeping his watch over the white-haired woman who remained behind the counter with her eyes on him. He tilted his head in cluelessness, not getting why she had her gaze fixed on him. "Uhm… yes?"
"What would you want?" Mirajane asked from her position, her smile still present.
"Uh…? I…" The Councilor took a moment to think about the question, his gaze going from the floor to his table and ending up on the woman of red-hair, who was now staring at him in wonder of what he would say. He narrowed his eyes at her and glanced back over his shoulder, nodding to the barmaid. "I'll have what she's having."
The white-haired beauty and all of the listeners stared at the pink-haired with wide and shocked eyes, slightly unnerving the guy since the knight's stare changed from one of wondering to one of complete and utter shock. "W-what?"
"N-nothing, don't worry." Erza answered carefully, questioning herself if she should tell the pink-haired about what her usual was or if she should remain quiet. Maybe, after all the problems he made her go through, it would be best to remain quiet and see how he reacted to the surprise. She smiled to herself. "Wait a moment and you'll see."
"Eh? See what?" Luminer didn't get an answer, unfortunately, so he had to wait until the barmaid presented herself with their orders, carrying, much to the sage's surprise, two plates with cake on them.
Strawberry cheesecake, to be precise.
"…a-are you kidding me?" The pink-haired murmured after a inspecting the dish from all sides, his eyes squinted and his mind focused to be sure it wasn't an illusion or anything like that.
"No, Luminer… that's what I usually eat." Titania answered with a small smile, taking the plate with one hand and the fork with the other, taking a small piece of the dessert and placing it over her tongue before swallowing it and squirming in delight at the sweet flavor running over her palate. It was so good to be back. "Try it; I'm sure you'll like it."
"…I-I'm not a fan of sweets, Titania." The Councilor said below a whisper, leaning back and staring at the cake with his arms crossed. It smelt far too sweet for his tastes, something he wouldn't eat even if he was coarse to. A complete strawberry, frosting, dough, cream with little cut-strawberries and dough again. How was he supposed to eat something like this? He continued to inspect it, with all his senses just to be sure, and he eventually found what he was searching for. 'Hah!' He grinned. 'It has alcohol!'
'What is he doing?' Erza asked internally, not understanding why the man was being so inquisitive over a simple piece of blissful strawberry cake. What was there to distrust of such a delicious pastry? "What are you doing?"
"Hehehehe!" Luminer chuckled mischievously, his tongue showing a small flame at its tip when he talked next. "I know how to eat this thing!"
"O-oh? And how's that?" The woman questioned nervously, having a feeling she understood what the sage meant with his words. The flaming tongue, his now grinning face… yes, she had a perfectly good idea of what he meant with that. "W-wait…!" So she had to do her best to stop him before… "D-don't…!"
"Hah!" With a snap of his fingers, the small cake set itself on fire, burning what little alcohol it had to feed the flame and facilitating the Councilor's next move. His grin widened at the sight of the flames that were slowly melting the frosting and crisping the sides of the dough, his free hand moving to take the fork given to him and taking the whole cake to place it on his mouth, much to everyone's astonishment. He heaved a long breath of satisfaction, along some smoke, using the same fork to take off any remnants of cake from his teeth while he patted his belly in happiness. "That's more like it!"
The entirety of Fairy Tail remained in stunned silence.
He didn't… just…
What did he just do!?
"Luminer."
If you don't know who spoke his name then you need to read this story all over again.
"Yes?"
And if you think there's not a glare burning the pink-hair's skull now, then you also need to read Fairy Tail again.
"Why did you set the cake on fire?" Erza asked slowly and with every single bit of self-control restraining her.
"Ah? What do you think?" Luminer responded with the biggest grin he has shown so far, throwing the fork aside and laying both forearms on the table, his eyes closing in content while he continued to talk to the woman. "I like flamed food."
The S-class knight took a moment to let the words sink in her mind.
With the people sitting around them staring at the sage as if he had grown a new head while she did so.
"Is that so?" She rested her plate and fork on the table, her eyes suddenly shadowing themselves from view. The rest of the audience knew by then that the situation was of the highest danger possible, but the Councilor kept on smiling.
"Duh, don't tell me you forgot about it on our way here." The pink-haired asked teasingly, chuckling again without noticing the trembling fists over the table.
"No, I didn't." The trembling fists stopped for a moment, letting every single wizard in the vicinity heave a sigh of relief. "But…" Everyone's nervousness returned when the temperature of the room dropped to zero. She just couldn't let it slide, could she? Her hands moved below the table and pushed it up with all their strength, flipping it in the air and throwing the sage off-balance. "WHY DID YOU DO SUCH THING TO THE CAKE!?"
"O-Oi! W-what the-!?" Luminer fell on his back and rolled back, resting on his butt with one hand supporting and lifting his upper torso, the free hand scratching his slightly bumped head. He opened one eye and tried to glare at the woman, failing miserably when he spotted her pouncing on him like a feral beast on its prey. 'H-holy crap…!' He sweatdropped. 'W-what the hell is wrong with this woman!?'
"Come back here, you sinner!"
"L-let go of me!"
"Not until you repent!"
"R-repent of what!? H-hey…! L-let go of my robe…!"
"T-they are destroying the center of the hall…" Gray pointed out emotionless, not knowing how to react to the current situation. This time, it was a different person, and not him being chased down by Erza around the guild.
"Y-yeah… I wonder who's gonna pay for that…" Lucy wondered out loud, sweatdropping at every table and seat that was turned to splinters whenever the two wizards came close to them.
"D-doesn't matter… I know it's not us, so we're safe…" Ryota stated confidently, or with as much confidence as he could muster. These two were seriously out for chaos; Erza chasing down Luminer with no care for whatever got in her way, and the Councilor by getting away without minding about where his evasive dodges were taking him.
Really, from what they could see, close to half of the guild's members were down on the floor thanks to standing close to the crossfire.
"I should tell Master of this!" Mirajane beamed randomly, leaving the bar and retreating to the kitchen of the guild, writing a magic letter to the old Master who was currently attending the regional meeting of Legal Guilds. She scribbled down some words with a tongue out, her eyes shining while she ignored the pained screams and crashes outside the room, and focused on what she wanted to inform Makarov about.
After a good couple of minutes, she held the letter inside its envelope, smiling proudly of her work.
"He'll be ecstatic!"
Later that day…
"Oh, dear! Don't make fun of your mages!"
Then, a small bird with a witch's hat flew close to the group, interrupting them while carrying a small letter addressed to the short old man. "Makarov-sama, you have a letter from Mirajane-sama."
"Let me see that." Makarov said as he snatched the letter from the bird and opened it.
"Master, thank you for attending the regular meeting," The image of Mira said with a small smile and waving a hand, the upper part of her body appearing on top of the letter.
"Look! She's our drawing card! Isn't she soooo cute?" The old man yelled to the rest of the congregation, widening his grin at seeing the heart-stares the image of his mage earned.
"We've got some wonderful news while you were gone!" She started with a bright smile and extending her arms to the sides in happiness.
"Oh?"
"Erza returned with a council member and formed a team with Ryota and Gray! Of course, Lucy's with them too!" She continued with a dreamy look.
"!"
"Don't you think it's wonderful?" Makarov could only stare at the letter with small droplets of sweat starting to form on his face. "I think this might be very well the strongest team in Fairy Tail!"
"…" More sweat fell from his face… and his body too, the hand holding the letter shaking.
"The council member is with them too! I think his name was Luminer! He explained he was here by Erza's invitation." She went on, shocking Makarov and the rest of the guild masters assembled in that room, Mira's bright smile and words not doing anything to ease their surprise. "She looked so normal with him! Bickering and hitting him when he behaved wrong! I think they look lovely together!"
Makarov's face was the perfect description of appalled; his sweat falling to the floor like a downpour while the rest of his equals heard in shock what was happening in Fairy Tail.
"L-Luminer is with them..!"
"And Titania dared to contradict him and hit him…!"
"M-Makarov!"
"Anyway, I thought I'd better inform you of all this, so I wrote a letter!" Mira said good bye with a sweet voice, waving a hand again as her image disappeared from sight. "See you then."
And not standing the pressure on him, the old man fell to the floor on his back, staring with wide unbelieving eyes at the ceiling while his colleagues rushing to check his state and help him. 'G-Goodness gracious! Now they might really destroy an entire town! And Luminer is with them too!'
To be continued.
AN: Honestly? I thought it would be nice to expand that lost week a bit more, you know, to develop the two characters' relationship a bit more and some stuff. Oh God, who am I kidding? I'm doing this for the sake of some NatZa, dammit! So much seriousness in the story is slowly killing my flame and to give it light again, I need to write a bit of romance or something funny. *nods* Yes, that's more like it. Honesty is the best weapon, as some say.
Now now, don't think the story will soften up after this chapter, please don't. We'll be back with more action and suspense in just a matter of days!
*laughs madly*
...that is, if I manage to write the story before a month passes. *snorts dryly*
Whatever, please enjoy this chapter and don't forget to let your thoughts be known with reviews! Motivation is what moves the human being, isn't that right?
Saludos.
