Chapter Ten: The Chamber of Secrets part 6.

The news of Elysian's fainting spell spread around the school like wild fire. The moment she was realised from the hospital wing saw hundreds of her fellow Slytherins, some Hufflepuffs, some Ravenclaws and even some Gryffindors coming up to her to ask if she was alright. It made her heart warm to know so many people cared about her but it also made her scowl when Professor Snape handed her a letter from the Headmaster 'asking' her to come to his office to speak.

"You shouldn't go!" said Draco, his teeth gritted together at the information he just received.

The moment Elysian was in her common room – making sure Ginny wasn't around – she told them what Professor Snape had said. Needless to say, no one was happy and it was agreed that Ginny would have nothing to do with Slytherin house. Sure, they looked after their own but Ginny wasn't one of their own, she was an interloper who just happened to wear their house colours.

"He's right," Blaise agreed, "You heard what Snape said, they're trying to poison you!"

"As much as I hate to agree with the boys, you aren't safe in that office Elysian," Daphne mumbled, her head resting on Elysian's shoulder.

"I know but I can't just not go," Elysian sighed, "Dumbledore will either have me taken out of lessons or do something worse. There's no way out of this meeting I'm afraid."

"You could always invoke your right as a Hogwarts student and secondary heir to the Ancient and Noble House of Potter," Neville suggested.

Neville had decided to join them in the Slytherin common room for a while. It seemed that male Potter and young male Weasley were trying to corner Neville in order for them to get information out of him. Elysian had been enraged when she found out and had spoken to the entire house of Hufflepuff to ask them for their secrecy and help. Hufflepuff – though refusing to take any side – did as she asked and soon understood the reason for such a request when Potter and Weasley tried to grab Neville on the way out of charms.

"Be kind, rewind," Elysian ordered.

"As a secondary heir to an Ancient and Noble House not only do you have a right to have someone accompany you at all times when in the presence of the Headmaster and as a Hogwarts student you have the right to ask your Head of House to accompany you to any formal meeting."

"How do you know this?" Draco gaped, "Even I don't know that."

"My Gran told me. She's not only on the Board of Governors but also holds the Longbottom Seat on the Wizmagots so she knows all about it," said Neville.

"You're a genius," Daphne grinned, her head leaving Elysian's shoulder.

Neville blushed at the praise.

"Who knows where Professor Snape is?" asked Elysian.

"Potions lab," all of the seventh years called.

Grinning at them, Daphne stood up and began dragging Elysian towards the potions lab where Professor Snape was sure to be waiting. Draco, Neville and Pansy were following behind them when Pansy spotted Ginny Weasley 'sneaking' behind them trying to see where they were going. Gesturing to the two boys, Pansy stopped and turned around, the three of them forming a blockade that stopped Ginny from following.

"Excuse me," Ginny said, trying to push past them.

"Where do you think your going?" Draco sneered.

"I need to talk to Elysian," Ginny answered.

"Well she's busy," said Pansy, "So why don't you run along!"

"No, I need to speak to her about her family," Ginny snarled.

"What family?" asked Neville with a harsh hiss, "Elysian doesn't have any other family but the Slytherin's and anything they want to say can be said in the common room."

Ginny's face began turning red with rage as she pulled out her wand only to stop upon realising that all three of the older Slytherin's had their wands pointed at her throat.

"Run along little girl, before we start using them," Draco growled.

Almost immediately, Ginny was running off as far down the corridor as she could go. The three of them smiled in triumph and turned around just in time to see Professor Snape walking down the corridor towards them with Elysian and Daphne beside him.

"Sir," the three blushed.

"I saw nothing," said Professor Snape.

"Love you guys," Elysian grinned kissing all three of them on the cheek.

"Love you too Elle," Neville smiled.

Professor Snape quietly led Elysian towards the Headmaster's office. Neither of them spoke as they walked up the spiralling stone staircase and down the corridor towards the office. Snape had informed her beforehand not to look into Dumbledore's eyes and not to take any of his sweets, both of which Elysian never intended to do but was thankful for the advice non the less.

"Are you ready?" Professor Snape asked.

"No," Elysian's voice wavered but she quickly slipped on her Slytherin mask and knocked on the door.

The door opened revealing Professor Dumbledore sitting behind his desk with Fawkes on his perch. Dumbledore seemed a bit annoyed that Snape was accompanying her and did nothing to hide his annoyance.

"Severus, my boy, there's no need for you to be here," said Dumbledore.

"I'm afraid there is Headmaster," said Professor Snape. "Miss Potter has called upon her right as a secondary heir in order to have me accompany her."

"Very well then," Dumbledore nodded, silently cursing the Longbottom lad. "Please Elysian, come."

"Is there something wrong Headmaster?" Elysian asked, doing her best to seem both ignorant and innocent.

"It's about what happened yesterday," Dumbledore said.

"Oh! The mandrake incident!"

"Mandrake?" Dumbledore asked, obviously not expecting that answer.

Elysian refused to make eye contact with the Headmaster as she began spinning her wonderful web of lies.

"Yes sir," Elysian nodded. "My earmuffs weren't on correctly and I fainted after hearing them scream. I gave everyone such a fright I hope nothing happened."

"No, no," said Dumbledore. "Your parents were simply worried for you and the cause."

"Well I'm perfectly fine Sir," said Elysian, "Is there anything else?"

"No, you may go," said Dumbledore.

Getting up, Elysian made sure to keep her back to the Headmaster when suddenly she felt something on her shoulder. Turning her head, she was shocked to find Fawkes sitting there and so was the Headmaster. The fire bird gently rubbed his face against Elysian's before disappearing in flames, along with his perch, and Elysian was ushered from the room quickly.

Snape waited until they were halfway down the corridor before saying anything.

"Do you know what just happened?" Snape asked.

"No," said Elysian.

"Fawkes just bonded with you," said Snape in pure shock. "He just chose you over the Headmaster, and I doubt Dumbledore is going to be happy."

"I'm now bonded to a phoenix?" Elysian gasped.

A grin broke out on her face as she realised something: her plans were progressing faster than she thought, she had always intended to try and gain a phoenix but she had never intended for it to happen so soon. It seemed that everything was happening so quickly and she had one thing to thank, her veela heritage.

It turned out that the first Potter's wife was a veela who's power and allure was passed down the line, getting weaker and weaker each time, until it finally got to her. No one ever knew that, of course, as for many years the heirs to the Potter line were male but it seemed the weaker allure was just strong enough to cause anyone that came into contact with her to form an instant connection and a wanting to please her. It was something that would be very useful in the coming years.

Upon arriving in the dungeons once more she was quickly pulled aside by Ginny Weasley who glared at her full force.

"Can I help you?" Elysian asked.

"Why isn't anyone telling me anything?" Ginny asked.

"Come again? What do you mean?"

"I've been asking around her ages and no one is telling me anything. What have you said?" Ginny growled.

"I don't know what you mean," said Elysian, "I guess they just don't want to talk to a spy."

"I—"

Ginny was immediately pulled away from Elysian by some third years causing her to drop a black book on the ground. Ginny didn't seem to notice that it was missing and Elysian quickly scooped it up in her arms before running towards her dorm to take a look at it. Elysian didn't seem to notice the dark aura surrounding the little black book…
