Chapter 10
Hope paced in the room before sitting down, anxiety wasn't going to help, at this point nothing was going to help. She heard a machine starting up and looked around trying to remember something, anything, but the memories were slipping away too quickly. She knew if she had to remember but there were no memories left, how did she even get here? She looked around to see reflections of herself, same as always. Medium length brown-black hair, curls flying everywhere, eyes with all colors in them, blue, green, brown, gray, gold, even silver. She was wearing what she always wore, a black leather jacket covering a maroon blouse with a short black skirt on top of her fishnet stockings. Her black boots topped it off. She looked down at her wrist after feeling something tugging on it, before seeing a bracelet with a gemstone, yet when she touched the gem she felt her heartbeats increase before finally grasping hold of a memory of when she had gotten the bracelet. She had just gotten home from The Academy, tired and grumpy. When she had woken up she had looked on the bedside table to see a gem that looked like it has the constellations placed inside. No note, no name, and nobody in sight. But as soon as she had recalled what had happened she felt radiation surge through her body, causing all of her cells to die then rewrite themselves, but not before falling in a crumbled heap on the ground.
...
Jack ran into the kitchen faster than he ever had before. Man, how upset could the Doctor get over him pushing a few buttons and pulling a few levers? Answer: VERY. After being yelled at about how he could have ripped a hole in the space-time continuum the Doctor stormed off somewhere. Jack trudged off to the kitchen and sat down to see Rose, John, and Clara staring at him like he'd done something wrong,
"What? What did I do?"
"You were supposed to be the distraction!" Clara hissed.
"Wait, so where did the Doc go?" Rose practically whispered.
"He ran off to god knows where, why?"
But as soon as he said it they ran off leaving him to chase after them.
...
The Doctor ran to get the process with. But he knew the risk, with the radiation surging through Hope, and her being dead before the Master took over she might not regenerate, meaning that he might lose her again. She just had to hold on to a memory long enough. He walked in and soniced the door; no turning back now. He stared up the generator and held his hand over the button. 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… he pressed it and she crumbled on the ground before and looking at her hands. Regeneration energy was eliminating the tips. She leaned her head back and tried to hold herself up as the energy consumed her whole body. The pain was unbearable, she screamed.
...
The radiation was seeping through her skin. What is this? Gamma radiation? No, too strong to be Gamma. That's when she collapsed in pain. Knowing that she had to stay up she pushed herself up feeling like she was about to cry. Looking down at her hands told it all. She was changing. She had to scream, the radiation was horrible. She fell over before looking at herself. Nice. She thought to herself, she had the hair she was waiting for, orange brown. She stumbled out of the room, hoping that she could find the console room from here. Eventually she stumbled into the group, quickly apologized and walked to her room, before plopping on her bed and taking a better look at herself. She would need new clothes but other than that, she was completely fine. She eventually needed sleep, as she had expected. But she hoped, to dear god that Jack would not come in while she took a nap.
