"So this is Planet Wisp, huh?" Sonic said, his eyes scanning the grassy environment of the Wisps' home planet.

"Apparently so, but way over there it looks like it's under some construction." Tails told his two companions, pointing to the distance.

Sonic narrowed his eyes. "Probably for Eggman to twist this place into one of his main attractions!" Sonic exclaimed and clenched his fist in anger.

Sonic and the others took off, their destination being the incomplete factory.

The group of three sped through the lush, beautiful, grassy hills, admiring the scene, until they made it to the factory. The group's jaws fell as they laid eyes upon the factory. Thousands of alien capsules, generators everywhere, roads made of red metal spanning through the factory, it replaced the green grass from before.

"W-What has he done to this place?" Twilight asked in bewilderment, how could he do this to such a beautiful planet?

"That bastard shaped it into his own damn image!" Sonic yelled, anger building in him from seeing what Robotnik did to the place.

"This is just insane!" Tails exclaimed while staring at the menacing factory with wide eyes.

"Well, even with all this, we have to stop him, if he's planning on using all of these aliens, then he should have more than enough power to wipe Emerald City's population down to zero!" Sonic yelled as the group made their way into the factory, looking in bewilderment at the factory's metal inside.

"Hey Sonic…" Tails called to his brother, gaining his attention in the process.

Sonic looked to his little brother. "What's up, bud?" Sonic asked the small genius, who looked at him with a curious look on his face.

"Do you feel like we knew Eggman before we actually met him, like we had some kind of long history with him?" Tails asked and Sonic nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, it's like he hated us right from the start." Sonic replied to the fox like boy, while they were talking Twilight listened in interest at the conversation.

"What do you guys mean?" Twilight asked as she walked alongside them, Sonic had let her down to walk on her own, seeing as they were trying to sneak around the factory without attracting unwanted attention.

"What I mean is it feels like me and Sonic have stopped him plenty of times before and that he's tried building an empire more than once." Tails explained to Twilight, who set her hand under her chin with a puzzled look on her face.

Sonic was about to reply until both him and Tails fell to the ground unconscious, holding their heads in pain.

"Yo, Tails, is the Tornado ready for takeoff?" Sonic the Hedgehog, a blue hedgehog with green eyes, white gloves, and red and white sneakers with a gold buckle on the side, called to his little brother Miles Prower or as Sonic calls him, Tails. The young fox had blue eyes, white gloves as well, three bangs on his head, red and white sneakers, and oddly enough two tails that flew freely behind him.

"Ready and raring to go, Sonic!" The young fox called out to Sonic as he was already on the wing of the biplane, waiting for takeoff.

"Well, let's go! We have to stop Eggman before he hurts someone at Station Square!" Sonic yelled back at Tails, who nodded and revved up the engine, the biplane took off into the sky. They are heading to one of the capital cities, Station Square.

Suddenly after a few moments of flying a red echidna with purple eyes, dreadlocks, spiked fists, and red, yellow, and green shows glided down next to them. He landed on the plane's wing next to Sonic.

"Hey knucklehead, what's up?" Sonic asked the red echidna who slightly growled before calming himself and speaking.

"I saw you guys heading over to Station Square, where Eggman is, so I decided to tag along to kick some ass!" Knuckles yelled and turned to Tails, who was piloting the plane to their destination. "Hey Tails, how's it going?" Knuckles asked the young fox boy who smiled and waved at Knuckles.

"Pretty good!" Tails called back to Knuckles who grinned and nodded, the echidna then punched his fist into his open palm, showing he was ready for a fight. Sonic grinned at this behavior and stretched his fist over to Knuckles, waiting for a fist bump. Knuckles gladly returned it with a grin of his own as the group of three arrived at the city.

Sonic jumped off the wing pulling various flips and somersaults before he landed on the ground in a crouch, Knuckles followed his lead and glided down while Tails landed the plane a little ways ahead, he then spun his namesakes and landed next to the two. All three of them looked forward to see Eggman in Eggmobile with a robot that looked similar to Sonic.

The robot had glaring red eyes with a black back, a grey, mouth less, metallic muzzle. He had a hole in his stomach area which served as engine for his jet in his back, he had metallic claws for hands.

"Ohohohoho! Sonic you've arrived and you've brought your friends!" Eggman called to his blue adversary who just smirked before laying eyes on Metal and he raised a brow in question.

"Wait, Metal! You brought him back!" Sonic called to the fat man hovering before him and his friends with said robot hovering next to his creator.

"Yeah, why'd you bring that monster back!" Knuckles yelled.

A few years ago Sonic and his friends had taken down, Metal Sonic in the form of the Metal Overlord after he had copied him and his friends data into his hardware, they defeated him and thought that was the end of him. Guess not…

"Did you really think I was going to just let a great idea like Metal Sonic, just rot!" Eggman yelled at the group as they just shook their heads at him.

"So now you're resorting to recycling old ideas, Eggman?" Tails asked the mad doctor who just growled and jabbed a finger at the group of heroes.

"Metal, attack!" The robot doppelganger then charged the group, they all prepared themselves for Metals' attack until a black hedgehog appeared next to Metal kicking him in his face and sending him flying back to Eggman. The hedgehog turned to face the Sonic Heroes and smirked.

"Took you long enough, faker." The hedgehog had black fur with red streaks in his quills, he had ring bracelets on his wrists and ankles, they acted as prohibitors for his chaos energy, he had red and white shoes with black on them as well, his eyes were red.

"How's it going, Shadow?" Sonic asked as to which the other hedgehog gave a 'hmph' as he turned back to look at Metal Sonic.

"We have more problems to worry about!" Shadow yelled at the heroes who looked at him with seriousness, nodding their heads.

"Enough talk, Metal get them!" Eggman commanded and the doppelganger rushed them again, they all spread out. Sonic and Shadow rushed him together, Sonic tripped metal off his feet, letting Shadow roundhouse kick him over to Tails and Knuckles. Knuckles punched Metal into the air while Tails flew up and swiped his namesakes in a downward angle, which skyrocketed Metal back down into the ground.

The copy stood up and rushed Knuckles and gave the echidna a flying kick across his face, sending him flying into a nearby car demolishing it as the echidna grunted and stood back to his feet, placing a hand on his injured cheek. After Metal succeeded in the hit, he turned on his heel and roundhouse kicked Tails, sending the two tailed kitsune flying towards Sonic who caught him and set him down.

Sonic nodded to Shadow, who nodded back and they both crouched into a spin dash and sped towards Metal, Shadow rolled under Metal and jumped up, still in his ball form and smacked him into the air, Sonic followed up and homing attacked Metal, this sent the robot tumbling across the street over to Knuckles who jumped into the air before Metal crashed into him.

Both hedgehogs uncurled themselves and smirked at each other, giving each other a job well done.

Metal rose to his feet and flew at the two hedgehogs and before they could react, he grabbed them by their necks and smashed them against the ground. The two struggled for a bit before they both called, "Chaos Control!" They were freed from Metal's grasp and appeared behind him. Shadow kicked him in the back of his head, while gave Metal a back flip kick to the face sending him into the air. Both hedgehogs looked to one another and nodded, Shadow charged up energy in his hand, while Sonic rotated his hand quickly in a circular motion, wind beginning to condense in his hand. When Metal began to fall back down to Earth, both of them fired their attacks.

"Sonic Wind/Chaos Spear!" They called and fired at Metal. Sonic's attack sliced clean through Metal's neck, beheading the robot while the Chaos Spear completely obliterated him, leaving only scrap metal in his wake.

"That was tight!" Sonic exclaimed. "Perfect as always!" Shadow yelled out.

"Great job, guys!" Tails complemented and gave them a thumbs up.

"I could have done it, faster…" Knuckles muttered to himself.

Eggman slammed his hands down on his Egg Mobile and cursed under his breath. "Damn you both!" Eggman cursed them and flew off back to his base.

"Nice job, Shadow!" Sonic complemented his partner and held his hand out for a fist bump, Shadow smirked and returned it.

"Not bad yourself, faker." Shadow complemented back.

Then it all faded to white.

Sonic and Tails awoke with a start, their eyes wide as dinner plates as they looked at each other.

"You were… I was… what the heck was that!" The two shouted in panic at what just happened while Twilight looked at them in worry.

"Are you guys okay?" Twilight asked them in deep concern.

"Yeah, but Tails, did you see what I just saw?" Sonic asked the blonde boy, who just nodded.

"But you were a hedgehog and I was a fox and there were two others. Knuckles and Shadow…" Tails said and Sonic nodded slowly showing that he saw the same thing.

"What are you guys talking about?" Twilight asked oblivious to the whole thing.

"We'll tell you later, but for now let's keep moving." Sonic said as the others went on ahead of him as he muttered under his breath. "Shadow… why does that name… bother me so much?" Sonic muttered to himself and caught up with his friends.

"So, while we're going through this, you guys mind telling me what happened back there." Twilight said to them and they noddedin agreement and proceeded to tell her what happened. She looked at them, puzzled.

"So, you saw two hedgehogs, a fox and an echidna, fighting a robot hedgehog and Dr. Eggman?" Twilight asked to make sure she understood the story. Sonic nodded.

"That's pretty much what we saw." Sonic said as he nodded.

"Those animals, they were us…" Tails trailed off and Sonic shook his head.

"We can't stay on this too long, we have to get moving and stop Eggman!" Sonic yelled and the others nodded, ready to keep moving.

"Hey guys, I think we should split up for now. We can cover more ground that way." Sonic told them and Twilight looked worried.

"But Sonic, what about the robots?" Twilight asked and Sonic frowned and looked at Twilight, he put his hand to his chin while Tails came and handed her a walkie talkie, he handed one to Sonic too.

"I made these a while ago. If you need help Twilight, just call for one of us, 'kay." Tails explained to her and she hesitantly nodded. They parted ways, Sonic speeding on ahead, Tails taking to the skies, while Twilight ran as fast as she could deeper into the factory.

After moving forward a bit, Sonic found a pink, spiky wisp, contained inside a capsule. Sonic freed the creature and absorbed the creatures power and smirked, his color turned pink and he turned into a spiky version of his ball form. He jumped onto a wall and clung onto it, he charged a spin dash and shot up the wall scaling fairly easily.

Tails flew high in the sky and landed on one of the highest points in the facility, he saw a capsule with a green alien with three circles under it. Cautiously, he freed the alien and he absorbed, a green glow appeared around him and he transformed into a hovering green alien and he shot off with a light speed dash.

Twilight was rather scared of the robots, she was hiding and sneaking around Badniks. She found an alien capsule that held an orange wisp, it was shaped like a rocket. Twilight very hesitantly freed the wisp and absorbed it. She yelped as she turned into a rocket and shot into the sky.

After Sonic finally found the generator he grinned and let out a sigh.

"And there's the generator! Seems like these guys are getting harder and harder to find." Sonic said as he looked at the giant generator before him.

Suddenly, the robot that he and Tails took out came up, completely repaired and ready for action. Sonic smirked.

Sonic pounded his open palm with his fist. "And I know for a fact that these guys are getting harder and harder to beat!" Sonic yelled.

Before Sonic could charge it, he heard Eggman's voice over the intercom. "Please remember, all planets in Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park are, as far as you know, wholly owned properties of Eggman Enterprises and its subsidiaries, All unauthorized photography, video reproduction, or shutting down of generators are strictly prohibited. Thank you."

Sonic smirked and called out. "Eggman! I AM going to save this planet, and I AM going to free these aliens."

"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop me, we can save a lot of time and broken robots if you just quit now!" Sonic called out to the mad doctor, hoping he could actually hear him, the only reply he received was the robot getting ready to fight.

Sonic sighed. "You try to be reasonable…" Sonic muttered to himself with a grin.

Sonic then charged the robot, dodging its arms as it tried to slam them on him, he Quick Stepped out of the way and ran up its arms he homing attacked the eye and leaned his body to the side as it sent its arm to punch him. Sonic held his hand onto the robot's arm and stood on it, he boosted along the arm and crashed into its face sending it on a one way crash course with ground over the side, causing it to explode.

Sonic smirked to himself at a job well done. The hero turned to see his friends walk up to him after seeing him take down the robot.

"Great job as always, Sonic!" Tails told him and Twilight smiled.

"Perfect as always I see." Twilight complemented and Sonic had a brief flashback of Shadow, but he shook it off.

"Thanks, hey Tails, where to next?" Sonic asked and Tails read the article.

"Aquarium Park, filled with clear beautiful water, while you relax and swim with the fishes." Sonic's eyes widened drastically.

"A-Aquarium? As in water?" Sonic asked while his eye twitched while Twilight noticed and looked confused.

"What's wrong, Sonic?" Twilight asked, while Tails frowned.

"Sonic's afraid of water… he can't swim." Tails said this and Twilight burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" Sonic asked with his eyes still twitching.

"It's just… the hero who went toe to toe with Nightmare Moon and passed Celestia's Trial is afraid of water!" Twilight stifled through laughter and Sonic just sighed.

"Jerk…"
