It was Tuesday and Logan was on the boat with his family and some close family friends. Logan was sitting by himself when Mitchum's friend John had come over to him.

"Logan, thank you for letting me join you guys for this."

"No problem Uncle John. You are family."

"So, where is your girlfriend?"

"What girlfriend?"

"That girl you dated back at Yale, didn't I see her at the funeral?"

"Yes, but she is not my girlfriend."

"I thought that since she was at the funeral, you two had gotten back together. She was good for you. What happened?"

"Apparently, we have too much history."

"You know what I say about history. History is to show you the mistakes you made in the past so you don't repeat them."

"And what if you repeat them?"

"You get on your knees and beg her to forgive you."

Before they spread the ashes, John gave a short eulogy.

"Michum had told me that he had many regrets in his life. His biggest regret was that he had put the company before his family. Except for the annual trips here, he had not spent any time with you guys. He had missed so much of the kids growing up that before he knew it, you guys were in college starting your own lives. He had said that if he had taught his kids one thing, he had hoped that it was to live life to its fullest, have no regrets."

When John brought up regrets, Logan automatically thought of Rory. He had so many regrets when it came to her. There were so many things that he would always regret because it was too late to change now, but there was one thing he could change. When they made it back to the house he immediately went to his room and packed his bag. As he walked out the door, he called his assistant. "I need you to book me on the next flight to Hawaii."

After hours of apologizing and begging, Logan was able to get Rory's room number from Natasha. When he got to the hotel, Rory wasn't in her room, so he decided that he would wait for her on the patio. He had thought over and over again what he would say to her. He was deep in thought when a voice pulled him back.

"Logan? What are you doing here?" She asked as she walked up the steps to the patio. As she walked into the light, his heart skipped a beat. He realized how truly beautiful she was. A beauty he had missed. It wasn't the glamorous beauty that he had been surrounding himself with for the past seven years, that fake beauty that only makeup and cosmetic surgery could bring out. It was a natural beauty. The same natural beauty that attracted him to her at Yale.

"You know, I had this whole speech prepared of what I was going to say to you, and now I am at a loss for words." He replied with a nervous laugh.

She just stared at him. He couldn't tell if it was anger our disbelief in her eyes.

"Rory, I'm sorry. I was an idiot to give you that ultimatum. If you don't want anything more from me then being friends, I will find a way to deal with it. I would rather have you in my life as a friend, then not have you in my life at all." He said finding his words.

And with those words, Rory's lips crashed into Logan's. All her concerns had disappeared. She listened to her heart, not her brain. It didn't take long for his hand to be tangled in her hair, his lips kissing hers back. He walked her back to the nearest wall and began to trail kisses down her neck. They were so wrapped up in the moment they forgot that they were in a very public place. It wasn't until Logan's hand slid up her dress and they heard someone giggle that they realized they should probably move this reunion inside.

She walked into the room; Logan came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He trailed soft kisses from behind her earlobe down her neck. As he kissed his way over her shoulder, he slowly slid the strap of her dress down. His hand moved from her waist to the zipper on the back of her dress, slowly lowering the zipper. When the zipper reached the bottom, his hand slid to the other shoulder lowering the other strap as he still nibbled on her shoulder. After the dress pooled around her feet, she stepped out of it and turned to face him. "I've missed you." He whispered as he pulled her closer and kissed her lips. Her hands now pulling the hem of his shirt up, exposing his chest. Tossing his shirt on the floor, she quickly unfastened his belt backing him toward the bed.

The next morning Logan had woke up with Rory in his arms. After he had told Rory how he felt, they had made love for hours and fell asleep in each other's arms. He was woken up by knocking on her door. He got up, put his pants on and opened the door to find Pete on the other side.

"Logan." Pete said in a surprised tone. "When did you get in?"

"Last night." Logan replied.

"I came to check on Rory. We had a few drinks last night and I know I was feeling the effects this morning." Pete replied.

"She's still sleeping." Logan replied as he ran his hand through his messy hair.

Rory had woken up to the sound of Pete's voice. She had the most amazing dream last night and couldn't wait to take on the day. She had dreamed that Logan had flown to Hawaii, apologized for being an ass, and then they proceeded to make love all night. When she started to get out of bed, she had noticed her state of undress and realized that maybe it wasn't a dream. She had put on her robe and walked out of the room to find Pete and Logan talking.

"Well, I guess we will let her sleep." Pete said to Logan as he saw Rory come out of the room. "Morning sunshine, I brought you some water and aspirin. Beach day, meet me in the lobby at ten." He said as he left.

"Morning." Logan said as he walked over and kissed her.

"Good morning." Rory replied feeling a little awkward. She didn't regret what had happened; she just wished that she had had a clearer head when it all happened.

"So, on a scale of one to Finn, how drunk were you last night?" Logan asked as he handed her the water and aspirin.

"It's fuzzy, but I think remember everything that happened." Rory replied with a smile.

"Regrets?"

"Not at the moment."

"So, what's the plan?" He asked

"You are probably pretty jet lagged. Why don't you get some sleep? Pete and I are just going to hang out at the beach. Give me a call when you wake up and we can meet up." Rory replied.

"How about breakfast?" Logan asked.

"Um… yeah, we can do breakfast." Rory replied as his phone started to ring.

"This is Honor, I have to take it." He said as he answered the phone. "Hey Honor, what's going on?"

Rory motioned to him that she would get in the shower while he took his call.

"What's going on? You tell me Logan. You disappear Tuesday night, no one can get ahold of you yesterday, and today you act like everything is fine. Where are you?" Honor yelled at him.

"Sorry I just took off like that. I needed to take care of something." Logan replied vaguely.

"Where are you?" Honor asked again.

"Hawaii." He replied.

"What did you need to take care of in Hawaii?" Honor asked.

"Honor, there was something I needed to take care of. Is everything ok? How's mom?"

"She's fine. Worried about you. What do you want me to tell her?"

"Same thing I told you. Tell mom, I will come out to the house for dinner after I get back."

"Logan, I don't think she is going to just let this go. She is going to want more info."

"Honor, I will tell you everything when I get back. Just tell mom I am ok and I will see her when I get back." Logan replied as he saw Rory come out of the bathroom. "I have to go. Give Annabelle a kiss for me. Love you."

"Everything ok?" Rory asked as he hung up the phone.

"Yeah, Honor was just checking in. I am going to hop in the shower." He said as he kissed her cheek and disappeared behind the bathroom door.

"I can't believe you are really here. This time yesterday, I didn't think we would ever speak again." Rory said as she sipped her coffee on patio outside her hotel room. "So what changed in the past week?"

"Do you remember my Uncle John?" Logan asked.

"Your dad's best friend? Yeah." Rory replied confused.

"Well, I was out at the Vineyard with my family to spread my father's ashes and Uncle John joined us on the boat. He was giving this speech about regrets and things my father regretted. Every time he brought up regrets I thought of you. There are so many things in our past that I regret that I can't change. Then there I was, given a second chance, and what do I do? I make the same stupid mistake. I couldn't do that again, so I did what I felt needed to be done." Logan replied.

"Did you mean what you said last night?" Rory asked.

"Every word." Logan replied.

"Logan, I still need some time to think. We have a lot to work through that we have been avoiding for months."

"I know. If you tell me there is the possibility of a future for us, I am willing to wait."

"Logan, I can't tell you there is a future for us. There is so much we still need to work through."

"Rory, that's not what I am asking for. Just tell me it is a possibility. That is all I asking for."

"If we can work through all our issues, yes, it is a possibility."

"Thank you; that was all I was asking for." Logan replied.

"I have to meet Pete." Rory said as she checked her watch. "Get some sleep, we will meet up later."

"Have fun." He said as she finished her coffee and got up from the table.

Rory and Pete had decided to spend the day sun bathing on the beach watching the surfers on North Shore. What should have been a peaceful relaxing day on the beach, turned into an interrogation for Rory.

"So, what happened?" Pete asked about ten minutes after they arrived.

"I think you know what happened." Rory replied sarcastically.

"Ok, why don't you tell me what happened before the obvious?"

"Basically he told me he was an ass and he would rather have me in his life as a friend then not have me at all."

"And what led you two to the horizontal mambo?"

"Emotions and alcohol."

"So… what does this mean for you two? Are you together? Did you forgive him?"

"Wow, slow down. We are going to take this slow. We are not together, but I told him that the future was possible."

"So, is he staying for the duration of the trip?"

"I don't know. Honestly, we haven't really talked yet."

After a couple of hours at the beach, Rory and Pete decided to check out the local shops.

"What are you looking for?" Pete asked.

"My mom wants me to get Luke a Hawaiian shirt." Rory said as she took a picture of a shirt with hula dancers all over it.

"Why? I don't think I have ever seen Luke in anything other than flannel except for on his wedding day."

"I know. My mom has this theory that if I buy it for him, he will feel obligated to wear it. It is her mission to get a picture of him in the most embarrassing shirt possible. She plans on putting it on her Christmas card." Rory replied as she sent the picture to her mom.

"Sounds like Lorelei. I think that one is a winner by the way." Pete said as Rory's phone alerted her she had a text message.

"Let's see if mom agrees." Rory said as she looked at her phone and smiled.

"I'm guessing that smile means we got an approval? Are we buying Liam a matching one?"

"That is an excellent idea." Rory replied with a smile. "But it wasn't my mom. It was Logan asking me out to dinner."

"Are you going to go?" Pete asked.

"And leave you alone?"

"I'm a big boy, I can handle myself. Go have dinner with Logan."
