Draco stood in a corner of Slughorn's classroom, holding a flute of Champaign. He was wearing his usual black suit and shirt with a blood red tie hanging loosely around his neck. The room was loud and crowded. He sipped his drink slowly observing the people around him. There was a fourth year Ravenclaw girl that was dressed as a bunny with not much clothing on. Her date couldn't remove his eyes from her rather exposed cleavage. Draco shook his head in disgust. Another couple were dressed as a girl in a blue dress and a white apron with a black bow in her blonde hair while the boy was dressed as a blue and silver stripped cat with a creepy smile and large glowing eyes.

"Malfoy!" someone called out. He turned to see his best friend Blaise Zabini and his wife, Pansy.

"Guys! What are you doing here?" Draco smiled from ear to ear, hugging each of them in turn.

"Slughorn invited us. How have you been?"

"I've had worse days," Draco answered with a shrug.

"Is she still around?" asked Blaise pointedly.

"Yes, and she's coming tonight."

"Ooh! A girl, Draco?" Pansy perked up at the news.

"Yes, Pansy, but don't worry. You'll always be my favorite," Draco pulled her up under his arm. Blaise rolled his eyes.

"Hands off, Malfoy!" Draco laughed at his friend's tone.

"Like you could do anything about it."

"Yes, I could!"

"Riiight!" Draco said sarcastically.

"Listen, Draco, I could-"

"Enough, you two!" Pansy cut in,"I feel like I'm back in school. Honestly! Grow up!"

"Yes, dear," Blaise monotoned. Draco smirked at his friend.

"So who is this lovely lady of yours, Draco? Do I know her?" Pansy inquired.

"Well, you could say that." Blaise snorted into his firewhisky. Draco shot him a glare.

"Wow," Pansy spoke suddenly, eyes wide and at the door. The men turned.

"What is-" the words died in Draco's throat.

Ginevera had just come in with Lovegood and both girls had most of the room staring at them. Draco couldn't believe it. This was the girl that was as tomboy as they get. She looked stunning in her greek goddess costume with the gold accenting her red hair beautifully. Her whole body seemed to glow in the dim lights of the room.

Draco felt the room get unbearably hot. He drained his glass of Champaign.

"Excuse me," he mumbled to his companions and made a beeline for the door at the opposite end of the room.
He made his way out to the hall where a number of people also stood having overflowed the room. He walked down the corridor to the nearest classroom. He sat on the desk after locking the door behind him. He rubbed his hands over his eyes.

"Not Weasley. Not Weasley. Not Weasley," he chanted under his breath.

He thought he had gotten his feeling under control since he had kissed her goodnight! How could she just walk into a room and suddenly he couldn't breathe? Draco sat in silence for a long while before he returned to the party.

"There you are! Where did you disappear to?" Blaise asked as soon as he spotted the blonde by the door.

"Sorry, I thought I was gonna be sick," Draco muttered.

"Are you feeling okay now?" worried Pansy. Draco grinned at her.

"Always the mother of our group, weren't you?"

"Someone needed to look after the two of you. With all those idiot things you did. Still do in fact!"

"Oh shove off, Pans! We're are grown men!" Blaise adjusted his green tie.

"Grown men who act like children," Pansy scoffed. Blaise winked at her. Draco rolled his eyes, his lips curved in a slight smile.

"I'm gonna call it a night. I'll see you guys over the holidays," Draco hugged Pansy, shook Blaise's hand and skirted the crowd to the door.

He wandered down the corridor not really paying attention when he heard his name being called.

"Draco! There you are! I was wondering if you had left the party early," Ginny was walking towards him from the direction of the party, "I was about to head back to the common room to study for Slughorn's exam next week. Care to join me?"

"Sure, why not."

"I nicked some firewhisky from the party. Want a bottle?" Ginny held up a case of the golden liquid. Draco grinned.

"Stealing from Professors now, Weasley? That's a very Slytherin thing to do," he nodded his thanks as he took a bottle.

"I know," Ginny smirked up at him. Even with her heels she was still shorter than him.

They heard voices from a corridor ahead. They slowed their approach. A girl let out a breathy sigh. There were unmistakable sounds of snogging. Draco smirked.

"Oh, Matt!" the girl moaned. Draco shot Ginny a glance. She had gone white.

Not her Matt, right?

"Shh! Not so loud!" a man murmured. It was her Matt.

Ginny stormed around the corner, Draco on her heels. They came face to face with Matthew with his hands under another girl's robes. Matt released her and straightened his own clothes. Then he noticed who it was who had interrupted.

"Gin, I can explain."
