Well my dears, here we go.
"Sam can you give us moment?" Jacob kept his eyes trained on Bella and her brothers. He kept his thoughts to himself in case Sam heard that Bella had 'spilled the beans' to a couple of random men. Well , men he perceived as random.
"No Jacob I can't. Who are these men?" Sam spoke a little louder this time. His tone was more firm as he stood his ground. This made Jacob clench his fists tightly. Who was Sam to speak to him that way? He was leader of the pack because of Jacob's refusal to take up the place himself.
"Sam, these are my brothers Sam and Dean." Bella introduced them after noticing Jacob's change in posture. His back was no longer relaxed and tension was clear in the air. Sam didn't act upset though about the strangers anymore, he approached them quickly and cordially shook there hands.
"I didn't know Bella had brothers" He stated with a small smile ."Interesting name, Sam" He added, towards the younger brother with a smile. He stepped back a bit and stood next to Jacob. The two men stood at almost the same height. Both dark skinned and dark haired, anyone could see them as related though they were not. Bella wondered if people could say the same about her and her brothers. She shared Dean's dark hair but had Sam's thin lips. Her eyes though, belonged to her father John Winchester. She had no traits from her mother. Her hair was light as a child but as she grew everything about her seemed to turn darker. She had always believed this was a direct reflection of her downward spiral of a life.
"See dog breath, this is how you treat guests." Dean smirked at Jacob with a slight point towards Sam. With Deans comment, realization dawned on the pack leader. Jacob growled slightly at the rude nickname.
"Dog breath?" Sam questions with a raised eyebrow. "Bella did you..." He trailed off in question. Bella nodded slightly and hesitantly.
"Sam listen there's a lot to be explained I have a reason believe me...My brothers and I... we... well...uh." The youngest Winchester seemed to trail off as she thought of a way to explain this in a quick manner. How could she voice this?
"What Bella is trying to say is, We're hunters. Our job sort of revolves around you and your...uh...ability." Sam finished for her, saving the day as usual. Bella quickly sighed and turned to thank him silently with a small grin. Which he returned.
"And what ability is that exactly?" Sam questioned with crossed arms.
"Gee, I don't know...maybe the one that involves you changing into a giant werewolf." Oh how his sarcastic comments were agitating the others around him.
Sam shot a look at Bella, one that conveyed anger but yet confusion. "I want answers, and I want good ones at that."
"And you will get them. Maybe-" Bella was cut off my Jacob who spoke quickly,
"I think your brothers can handle this. If its ok with you all, I need to have a word with Bella. In private." The two brothers exchanged looks quietly. Dean narrowed his eyes at the young shapeshifter, not particularly sure of his intentions with his baby sister. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the pack leader nod his head slowly. Before Dean could refuse, Sam spoke first,
"Yeah that's fine. You ok with that Bells?" Sam asked Bella. Dean groaned lightly.
For a moment Bella stared at her oldest brother who was shaking his head in a threatening manner, his lips pressed in a thin line. But when sam called her name once more she nodded, "Yes. Come on Jacob."
She grabbed the werewolves arm and pulled him behind her away from her over protective brothers and the over protective pack leader.
As Bella did this, Dean glared at Sam. "What are you thinking? We just got her back. She shouldn't be leaving our sights especially with a Rakshasa." He crossed his arms.
"Dean they are not Rakshasa's. Let it go man. She can take care of herself." Sam shot back with frustration.
"Excuse me but what is Rakshasa?" The other Sam questioned.
Sam answered him with a slight smile, "Something you're not. So uh I think a rational conversation is in order." The Pack leader nodded and motioned for them to follow him into his home. Which both brothers did despite their reluctance.
Jacob and Bella made their way towards the woods where they walked and talked at the same time. Bella's hands were placed firmly in her Jacket pockets as her skin was chilled from the La push tide. She found that this particular area of Forks is the coldest.
"Why didn't you tell me you had brothers?" Jacob tried to mask the hurt in his voice, but Bella heard it loud and clear.
"Honestly Jacob. It's complicated. I came to forks running from...my predicament... It wasn't something I wanted to discuss, not even to my 'childhood' best friend." She answered with mild hesitance, she was truly unsure of how to answer that question without complicating things further.
"What predicament exactly?" At this, she stopped mid step. She had a choice she could tell him honestly what was happening, or she could just address the real problem. With everything going on around her, including her well...sort of engagement that she had previously put off that day, she wasn't sure she could take another explosion. So she decided the easy way out,
"Jacob someone is attacking Seattle. My brothers came here looking for whatever it is. Edward believes it is Victoria and I have a feeling it is a lot more serious than that. This isn't just a couple of broken necks. Over 14 people have gone missing, and over 5 people have been killed. The numbers are increasing and their getting closer to Forks." He sensed her immediate discomfort and decided not to push his questioning of her past.
"Why does this matter to your brothers?" He only asked.
"Because Sam, were hunters. It's our job to hunt things that go bump in the night." She smirked at her choice of words.
Jacob only laughed. "Oh ok. Sure Bella. Does tinker bell know about this job of yours?" He smiled at her. Despite her seriousness he didn't seem to believe her.
She frowned. "Yes. He and the rest of the Cullen's found out this morning. Dean and Sam thought they were the ones wrecking havoc on Seattle."
Jacob looked at her for a moment before responding, "What was his reaction?"
"Well he believed me for starters. Maybe it was the fact that My brothers were carrying riffles and stakes. I'm not sure." She crossed her arms and stared up at the wolf with a lopsided frown.
"You honestly expect me to believe that you, itty bitty little Isabella from Phoenix is a vampire hunter?" Jacob narrowed his eyes at her.
"I'm not fucking Buffy, Jacob. I don't just hunt vampires. Theirs also Demons, ghosts, shapeshifters... real werewolves." She added that last part as a humorless jab towards the tribal boy in front of her.
"Ouch. So I don't meet the right criteria to be a werewolf, how harsh."
"Jacob this is serious. I'm telling you the truth. Look," She turned around and lowered her jacket and sweater off her shoulder showing him her anti possession tattoo. He gasped slightly and she turned around.
"Its to stop demonic possession. My brothers have it too. Look Jake I'm trying to prove it too you but you just have to trust what I'm saying, ok?" He nodded.
"All right so you fight evil. You're still like Buffy, the question is are you as bad ass?" He tried to make the situation lighter. She shook her head and gave a small laugh.
"No the question is, do you know anything about whats going on with the killings? The sooner we fix this, the sooner I'll be out of your hair."
"Not exactly. But the pack has been on the look out for anything threatening the locals. If Victoria was here, we would be able to pick up her scent." Bella rolled her neck in disapointment at his words.
"Alright well..."
"What do you mean out of my hair?" Jacob cocked his head to the side.
"Well...Im assuming that after this is over and taken care of...I'll probably leave with my brothers." She didn't know where that was coming from. She hadn't decided what she was going to do. She knew they needed her but was leaving the Cullens and the Pack what she wanted to do? It wasn't the main issue so she kept pushing the thought from her mind. It was always 'lets cross that bridge when we come to it' for the Winchesters. But with her impending doom awaiting her, she wasn't sure if those rules still applied.
"What? You're just going to leave, just like that?" Jacob shocked himself with the anger in his own voice. The girl took a step back in surprise.
"Well...Yeah I just might...With everything that's going on...I should spend my last couple months with my family." Shit. Did that just slip out? A stream of cuss words rolled into Bella's mind.
Jacob took a moment to process her words. He said them over and over to himself in fear of what he was hearing.
"What?" He hissed out. "What do you mean last couple months? Bella what aren't you telling me?!" He yelled at her in question.
Sighing she let the words fly from her mouth before she could stop herself, "Jake...I made a deal. I'm dying. I have 6 months."
He shook in anger. His fists clenched at his sides.
"Please don't be mad...I had to do it. You don't understand Jake" He cut her off mid sentence,
"No you're right I don't. I don't understand why you didn't tell me this. I don't understand why you come out of no where, telling me that you have brothers. I don't understand why they know about me and the pack. Most importantly I don't understand why you are still with that bloodsucker when you're apparently a hunter. I don't understand Bella. I don't. " After his tangent Bella finally looked at him. Just from his eyes she saw how destroyed he was.
"Jake." She walked towards him taking his face in her hands. "I am so sorry Jacob I really am. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Trust me though, I had no choice. My brother he was-" She didn't finish though, because Jacob's lips found hers desperately. His love for her grew everyday and he yearned for her to be his. He now knew though that she never would be. The girl he loved was dying and he would never have her. He cleaved to these last moments as her forced his chapped lips upon hers.
Shocked at first but then angry Bella tried to push him off of her. He let go then sensing her disturbance. "Jake-"
"Please Bella. Just know that I had to do that. And-" She slapped him then, hard. Hurting her own hand in the process. She let out a low groan and held her hand. Jacobs eyes grew wide, but he still held a smug smile.
"You can't slap a werewolf Bells-"
"Leave. now" She said angrily.
"Bella at least let me take you to-"
"No. Go. " SHe growled at the wolf before her. He hesitantly left her there. If she had a dime for every time she was left in a forest alone...
After he left her, she let out a loud yell of anger. All the emotions of today were just to much for her to handle and she fell to her knees grabbing at her hair.
"My my. Angry are we?" That voice. She knew that voice. That was the voice she heard the day she made the worst and best deal of her life. That voice sent chills down her spine that nearly made her teeth chatter. That voice caused her hands to clench and unclench into fists. That voice destoryed her very being, reminding her everyday what she really was. What she was born as and to be. She did not respond. She just sat there. Clenching and unclenching her fists, grinding her teeth together.
"What are you doing here?" She whispered. Her eyes remaining firmly on the ground.
"I'm here doing what I always do. Watching over you." The being responded with a smirk.
"Why?"
"Its what I do best. Really, It's my job. And you know how dedicated I am."
"Still dedicated to dirty work I see."
"You know me best." He nodded slightly at her words. "You're not getting out of this Bells. You're muts for brothers wont be able to save you this time."
"I know. That doesn't mean that they wont try." Bella stood up and turned around to face him slowly.
"I bet you feel pretty accomplished." She shot back at him. He smiled.
"I'd say guilty is more like it." He admitted in all truth, yet she scoffed loudly.
"Don't make me vomit." Bella glared at him.
"I would not want that. You would ruin this vessel's wonderful shoes. Whats the word the mortals call these...ah...Chic? I think they're chic." He was smug indeed.
"I pity you." Bella narrowed her eyes to slits at the beautiful creature before her. Beautiful he was. With his dark hair and dark eyes, a normal human would be fooled. Very fooled indeed. But Isabella Winchester knew better. She knew exactly what this man was. A demon from hell and nothing more. Once she might have called him her friend but ever since that day he let Dean die, she would never call him that again.
"You pity me? I'm not the one dying." He reminded her coldly.
"You're already dead. You're a worthless soul in a stolen body. A corrupted, aroggant, and foolish soul. I might be dying, but I will never be as dead as you are." Her angry words were full of hate. She wanted to hurt him. Badly. But she knew that nothing would hurt him. He was emotionless.
"I beg to differ." He simply said before turning his back on her. His hands firm in his pockets and his shoes kicking the dirt. "We'll be in touch." And with that, he was gone.
"Goodbye, Dominic." She then made her way back to her brothers.
