Binas: Here's the next chapter! I have been trying to think of a good way to bring it around, so here's the results! I will even give you the Hide and Explode game scene. I am not sure what the rules are, but I think I can get the gist of it.
Parts of this episode based chapter has been changed a bit. I am sure the changes will amuse some people.
Review time!
Cyber Orteck: I am sure the words cute and terrorist were never supposed to go together, but in this case, he is both cute and a terrorist, which is a very rare thing.
JaDe In NighT: It's a secret! :D
eenayde: No problem. You know, I was worried about Aang when I first saw the episode myself.
ailem2707: That scene does symbolize that Aang is starting to take his job a lot more seriously than before, though. Well that's what I think, but it's part of Aang's character development.
ultima-owner: I wanted to have a good way to dispose of the bodies, both dead and partly alive, of those hit by Deidara's Proto-C3. Then of course I thought 'Hey, there's a serpent there, so why not have it eat them'. Dark humor in full blast right at that moment.

Deidara flew on his bird within the dense cloud that surrounded everyone. He had to watch Appa to make sure he didn't fly into anything due to how thick it was. It was annoying, but Sokka insisted it was the only way to travel across the Fire Nation without hassle or ruining the invasion plan.
This disguise would be practical if everyone could keep quiet... So far, they were the noisiest cloud in the sky. Deidara was surprised no one was suspicious of a talking cloud.
"Hey I think I see a cave!", Aang shouted as he squinted past the thick clouds.
"SH! Keep quiet!", Sokka whispered a little too loudly.
Aang blasted the clouds away, revealing that they have landed. Deidara had to adjust his bird a bit to keep it from being blown away by Aang's Airbending. After the winds Aang made passed, Deidara landed his bird and got off.
Deidara looked at Sokka and resisted the urge to face palm. Sokka had jumped out of Appa's saddle like a paper bomb was about to go off, and rushed to a large boulder and leaned on it with his arms crossed.
"Great job with the cloud cameo, but next time let's be the cloud that knows how to keep it's mouth shut.", Sokka said.
"Yeah, wouldn't want a bird to hear us talking up there.", Toph said sarcastically.
"Hey! We're in enemy territory!", Sokka whispered with an annoyed look, "These are enemy birds."
Sokka pointed to bunch of Toucan Puffins that were resting above him. One Toucan Puffin hopped off the rock and onto Sokka's head. It gave a squawk, causing everyone to laugh at how harmless the 'enemy birds' were.
"What's it gonna do? Peck us to death, hm? Oh I am so scared!", Deidara asked, gaining a few snickers but a pulsing vein from Sokka.
Everyone began walking to the cave. Deidara shot Sokka a few questioning looks when he saw Sokka's attempt at being stealthy. Sokka then, out of the blue, jumped and took a nose dive in front of the group with a suspicious look on his face. Everyone blinked at him while Deidara was more of annoyed.
"Cut it out, Sokka!", Deidara snapped, "Nobody's around here, hm!"
Sokka shushed Deidara as he retained his suspicious look before dashing into the cave. Everyone followed Sokka in. Sokka turned around to face his friends.
"So this is how we will be living until the invasion. Living in cave, after cave, after cave, after cave...", Sokka said as his head drooped with every mention of the word 'cave'.
"We don't need to become cave people, Sokka.", Katara said, "What we need is some new clothes."
"Blending in is better than hiding out. If we get Fire Nation disguises, then we will be just as safe as hiding in a cave.", Aang said.
"And they got real food out there. Who here wants to sit in the dirt and eat cave hoppers?", Toph asked as she slammed her fist into the cave's wall, scaring a bunch of cave hoppers out.
"Definetly not me.", Deidara said, grossed out by the idea of having to eat questionable bugs for every meal.
Momo darted at one and began to eat it. After realizing he was the only one supporting Sokka's idea, he spit the cave hopper's head out. Sokka sighed that he lost the voting.
"Looks like we were out voted, Momo... Let's get some new clothes.", Sokka said.
Before Team Avatar was a steamy area with clothes dangling from wires that zig-zagged the place. The person who was suppose to be keeping an eye on the clothes was fast asleep.
"I am not sure if we should be doing this. These clothes probably belong to someone.", Aang whispered.
"I call the silk robe!", Katara shouted and dashed for the line, picking off what she wanted.
"Aang, quit trying to be perfect. We have to do this, hm.", Deidara said and made a beeline for the clothes he had his eyes on.
"Okay, in that case... I call the suit!", Aang said and snatched said clothing from the clothes line.
Team Avatar's clothing hustle went off without issues. The guard was apparently a very heavy sleeper. Sokka was being particularly girly when he was checking out clothes. Toph unwillingly had Katara's help when finding some good clothes after a few fashion calamities color wise. Deidara managed to find a pair of gloves, which he used a kunai to cut of the fingers due to their slightly small size.
By the time they were done choosing what looked good on them. Sokka wore a long red tank top like shirt with dark red pants with his usual wolf-tail put into a top knot. Aang wore clothing that seemed similar to armor, but was far from being considered armor and had the belt of the outfit tied around his head like a forehead protector. Toph wore the Fire Nation equivalent to her typical Earth Kingdom outfit. Deidara wore a similar outfit to Aang but used the belt as a belt, but kept on his mesh armor on underneath, hair in it's same style, and his 'customized' finger-less gloves. They tired to get him to take the mesh armor off but failed.
"Ta-da! Normal kid!", Aang said happily.
"I should wear shoes, but I won't be able to see well...", Toph said and sat down, "Sorry shoes!"
Toph tore her feet through each pair of shoes, having the soles smack both Deidara and Sokka in the face. Both frowned at the blind Earthbender in annoyance.
"Finally, a stylish pair of shoes of the blind Earthbender.", Toph said.
Then Katara stepped out. Aang was struck by her outfit as if he was hit by a love arrow.
"How do I look?", Katara asked.
Aang began blushing as he tried to think of the words to describe Katara's outfit. Katara was wearing a red midriff shirt with a long red skirt. Her hair was mostly down with two tied strands of hair framing her face and a small section of hair in a top knot. However, Aang's thought were cut short when he spotted a flaw in Katara's disguise, her necklace.
"Your mom's necklace...", Aang said.
Katara looked sadly at it. She knew that it would blow her disguise out of the water fast.
"It's obviously Water Tribe, isn't it?", Katara said as she took it off.
Later in town...
Eventually everyone found an accessory store. Sokka found a little red ember shaped piece of his top knot, Toph found a Fire Nation crown to replace her Earth Kingdom one, Katara found a Fire Nation necklace, and Deidara found some reddish-brown pouches to replace his worn brown ones. What did Aang get? Nothing, he just stuffed Momo into his clothes.
After they left the accessory store, Team Avatar found themselves in the middle of the town.
"I used to visit my friend Kuzon here a hundred years ago. So, everyone just do what I do and as they say in the Fire Nation 'Stay flaming'.", Aang said and went forward to greet a man who had meat on a stick, "Greetings my fellow hotman!"
Deidara knew that kind of slang had to be outdated when he saw Sokka, Toph, and Katara's confused faces. What verified it more was the weird looks the citizens gave Aang. There was no way in heck he was going to talk like that.
Soon after Aang was done greeting the populace with out dated slang, they came to a butcher's shop.
"We're going to a meat place?", Aang asked looking rather uncomfortable.
"Come on Aang! Everyone here eats meat! Even the meat eats meat!", Sokka said pointing a cow-hippo that was eating rancid meat.
Deidara and Aang were both disgusted and shocked at the sight. Deidara swore he was about ready to puke as he saw the hippo-cow eat the rancid meat in one bit without chewing.
'Talk about a cannibal! Aren't cows suppose to be herbivores?', Deidara thought.
"Just disgusting, hm!", Deidara said with a disgusted cringe, "Those cave hoppers are looking more appetizing now."
"You guys go on ahead, we will just go look for some lettuce in the garbage cans.", Aang said with a similar disgusted cringe on his face.
As Sokka, Katara, and Toph entered the butcher's shop, Aang and Deidara began to walk around. Aang occasionally greeted everyone with the term 'hotman', much to everyone's confusion and Deidara's annoyance. Deidara groaned by the time Aang called the sixth person that past them a 'hotman'.
"Can you cut it out Aang? It's annoying!", Deidara said, "Besides, I think the slang you are using is dead judging by how everyone is reacting, hm."
Aang looked around, he was indeed getting weird looks. Deidara did have a point, but he dismissed the confusion as the citizens that he used the dead slang around as the wrong crowd.
After a few silent moments of looking around town square, the duo spotted what looked like guards. One male, one female. Aang's cheerful face dropped into an 'oh crap' look.
"Act natural.", Aang whispered.
Deidara just leaned against a post that had an unlit torch light on top of it. He gave an uncaring look to the sky. Aang on the other hand rocked back and forth on his feet, giving a suspicious whistle. Deidara rolled his eyes at Aang's pathetic attempt at looking normal.
"That just makes you look more suspicious, Aang, hm.", Deidara whispered, "You need to act cool, not like you stole from your grandmother's cookie jar."
Aang nodded but it was too late. The guards spotted them and approached them.
"It's over! We caught you two!", The male guard said.
"Who, us?", Aang asked.
"I think you got the wrong kids.", Deidara said.
"Oh we got the right kids. Next time you two want to go play hooky, you might want to take your school uniforms off.", The male guard said.
Deidara and Aang looked at their outfits in surprise. Deidara just blinked while Aang laugh nervously. The two guards grabbed them and dragged them away.
"Put me down, hm!", Deidara shouted.
"You shouldn't have ditched school in the first place then.", The female guard said.
Aang and Deidara were shoved into a classroom as the door was slammed shut. On the door was the words 'Sifu Kwan'. Deidara had no idea what 'sifu' meant, but he assumed it was a honorific like 'sama' but could just be a name.
The classroom was filled with kids, who stared at the new comers with curiosity. There was a middle age woman in the front of the room who wore a stern expression. Deidara assumed that she was the teacher.
"Oh, are these new minds for molding?", Sifu Kwan asked.
Deidara just stood there with a nonchalant expression while Aang just gave a goofy smile.
"Yes, let the molding begin!", Aang chirped as he knocked on his head, making Deidara roll his eyes.
"I guess Sifu-sama, hm.", Deidara said slightly sarcastically.
Sifu Kwan's eyes widened in realization.
"Wait a minute. You two aren't from the Fire Nation!", Sifu Kwan said.
Aang and Deidara tensed slightly. They felt a slight dribble of cold sweat drop from the back of their necks.
"Apparently you two are from the colonies!", Sifu Kwan finished.
Both released the tension that was building in their bodies. That was a close one.
"Yes, we are from the colonies in the Earth Kingdom. Thanks for noticing.", Deidara said.
"Both of your etiquettes is terrible. In the home land we bow to our elders, like so.", Sifu Kwan said and gave a demonstration on how to bow properly.
Deidara rolled his eyes as he and Aang gave a bow, however Sifu Kwan tapped them both. A girl in the classroom made the correct hand position for the bow. Apparently, Deidara was giving it backwards, while Aang's looked more like a chair than a flame. Both boys corrected themselves quickly.
"And we don't wear head coverings or gloves indoors.", Sifu Kwan said.
Both boys gave an 'um' before managing to think up a good lie.
"My hands were terribly burned from explosives when I was younger, hm.", Deidara said, "I am sure if you can't stomach what they look like now."
"I have a scar and it's really embarrassing.", Aang said.
Deidara's lie obviously caused a few concerns and the question 'who lets their kids play with bombs' to pop up. At least it was believable to a degree.
"Very well then. What are your names, or should we call you two 'Mannerless Colony Slobs'?", Sifu Kwan said.
Deidara frowned as a small tick mark popped up on his forehead while Aang chuckled in amusement.
"Slob is just fine, or ummm... Kuzon", Aang said as he face the class with a grin.
"I'm Katsuro, don't assume I am a slob, ever, hm.", Deidara said.
Later...
Both boys managed to survive the day. Deidara was slightly ticked off that he was forced back into school because he finished studying under the Tsuchikage, Onoki, when he stole the Kinjutsu from right under his nose. So his current situation felt more like an insult. There was no learning how to fight at all to make it worse, meaning he couldn't release his annoyance on some dumb jerks that he had heard about, like Hide for example.
Hide was with him for one of his classes and boy was he such a pain in the rear. He had to restrain the urge to tie the idiot to a pole with a bunch of C2 surrounding the kid. Overkill? Yes. Satisfaction involved? Yes. Maybe he could get away with one little trick later...
Once Deidara meet up with Aang, they were outside the school, heading for the school yard's exit. Aang opened up his shirt to reveal Momo.
"We made it through day, Momo. It was kinda fun.", Aang said.
"By fun, you mean having a class with complete jerk that can't write his own name?", Deidara asked.
Aang gave Deidara a look, which was ignored by Deidara. Suddenly, something caught Aang's attention.
"Don't let the headmaster catch you with that monkey."
"What monkey?", Aang asked as he turned around with a sheepish head scratch.
Deidara turned around to see what Aang got worked up over this time. It was a girl. The girl walked forward to the two.
"Don't worry, I am not going to tell on you guys. My name is On Ji. I really like your headband and gloves.", On Ji said looking at both boys.
Deidara raised an eyebrow at the comment. Aang was about something when the elephant came into the room. It was Hide...
Hide walked between Aang and Deidara, shoving the two aside as he came through to On Ji. Deidara gave a pointed glare at Hide as Hide gave a wicked grin.
"On Ji, why are you babysitting the new kids? You don't have to, you know.", Hide said.
Aang quickly bowed to Hide, which amused the snobby rich boy. Deidara did not move an inch, he only glared at Hide.
"Wow, you must one of the popular kids I have been hearing about!", Aang said.
"That's right.", Hide said arrogantly, he was then cut off by Deidara.
"By popular, does he mean that you are so high and mighty that you don't need to know how to write your own name, hm?", Deidara asked as a slightly more evil smirk grew on Deidara's face.
Hide glared daggers at Deidara. He crept closer to the two with a malicious atmosphere around him.
"Listen closely you two, since you are from the colonies. One, On Ji is MY girlfriend; and two, don't ever disrespect me like that again. Got that?", Hide said as he stabbed his finger into Deidara's chest; the latter glared daggers back at Hide.
Hide at the back of his mind wondered why he felt an odd bump on Deidara's chest. Whatever he felt, it was not normal scar. Little did he know it was a seal over Deidara's fourth mouth, which Deidara had very few quarter baked ideas for using it for.
"How could I not, hm?", Deidara asked, "You're annoying."
Hide let off Deidara with a warning mock punch, which Deidara laughed at mentally. It was beyond PATHETIC. It couldn't even scare a GENIN or an ACADEMY STUDENT for that matter!
Hide then wrapped an arm around On Ji and walked off. He turned his head around briefly to give another glare at the two.
Out of the crowd of students who were now leaving school, was a tanned boy with green eyes and brown hair tied off in a top knot. He was amazed.
"I don't believe it! Hide didn't even get serious or go all out on you guys!", The boy said in amazement.
"I guess we got a lucky. I'm Kuzon, and this is Katsuro. So what's your name?", Aang said.
"I'm Shoji. Me and my friends are going to go play Hide and Explode. Wanna come?", The boy said.
"Sounds like an interesting game, hm.", Deidara mused over the name of the game.
"Sure! We'd love to!", Aang said as he and Deidara followed Shoji.
The field was a wide open with trees and rock formations everywhere with a small creek nearby. From what Deidara learned on the way to the location was that the larger boy, who seemed to lack a neck, was named Chikashi and the short girl with brown pigtails was named Kira. Kira seemed to be a sweet girl with a slightly not very noticeable loud personality. Chikashi was a bit shy and meek and kinda hid in the collar of his clothes sometimes.
Shoji pulled out three medium sized bags and handed two of them to Deidara and Aang. Chikashi and Kira pulled out their's. Deidara opened it to reveal some red ball shaped pellets. From the smell, they were explosive. A little too much for an inexperienced kid. To Deidara, these pellets were weak verses his creations and he could tell from how they were made. He guessed this was because the rest of them were kids like himself and adults feared kids playing with bombs and blowing them up on their peers.
"So how do we play?", Aang asked.
"The game is very simple. It's just like Hide and Seek, you run and hide while the seeker counts to one hundred.", Shoji said.
"After the counting is done, he goes to find the rest of us.", Kira said.
"And when the seeker finds you, he throws one or two of the pellets at you to let you know.", Chikashi said.
"And when we all run out of pellets, it's game over.", Shoji said, finishing the brief and simple rules.
Deidara and Aang nodded, understanding the simple rules. Deidara admitted silently that this game might be his kind of game.
Then the game began. Deidara was first to be the seeker, and he found everyone really quickly. Being a ninja gave Deidara an edge on where to look, but it didn't not give him an edge on their exact location. By far, Kira was surprisingly the easiest to find out of the bunch with Chikashi being the hardest.
When it was Deidara's turn to hide, he gave everyone a hard time. He even messed with a few by throwing nuts at the seekers before jumping to another tree. He was eventually caught and told that moving from your hiding spot was cheating. Deidara didn't care and kept on 'cheating', annoying some people.
The day ended with some very minor singes that didn't even hurt in Deidara's mind due to being used to having a few of his creations blowing up right in his face back when he was around eight or nine. Everyone around him was covered head to toe in soot and dirt. All with grins on their faces.
"That was really fun! Let's do it again sometime!", Aang said.
"All I have to say is that was a very interesting game, hm.", Deidara said with a very slight smile.
"See you tomorrow you two!", Kira said.
"Bye!", Chikashi said.
By the time Aang and Deidara got back to the cave, it was dark out. Their entrance surprised everyone.
"Where have you two been? We were worried about you!", Katara said.
"We got invited to play with some kids after school.", Aang said as he removed the belt from his forehead.
That's when Sokka shot up from his position on the ground. His face had a mixture of unreadable emotions written all over it.
"AFTER WHAT!?", Sokka practically shrieked.
"We got enrolled in a Fire Nation school and we are going back tomorrow.", Aang said.
"Count me out! I practically fell asleep in all of the classes due to how boring they are! And I would have slept to the end of the day if the teachers didn't keep hitting my desk so often, hm!", Deidara said.
"Suit yourself. You are missing out.", Aang said with a smile.
That's when Sokka butted in again.
"ENROLLED IN WHAT?!", Sokka shrieked again before fainting.
It didn't take long for Sokka to recover. Once he was sitting up, Katara healed his head to reduce some of the pain. Once that was done, Sokka was ready to discuss the situation properly.
"Aang, I am trying to be mature about this, but your idea sounds like a very bad one.", Sokka said.
"Yeah, why do you need to go to school for?", Toph asked.
"Every moment I am in the classroom, I am learning something about the Fire Nation. We already got pictures of Firelord Ozai!", Aang said showing two different portraits of Ozai, "And here's one I made out of noodles!"
Aang held up his noodle Ozai. It looked pretty good and tasty.
"Deidara did do a portrait but he tore it up since he couldn't blow it up.", Aang said, "It was pretty good too."
Deidara rolled his eyes at Aang's comment.
"And the teacher gave me a warning about that. I swear she wouldn't even know art if it hit her in the face, hm.", Deidara said.
"Impressive I admit, but I still say no. It's too dangerous.", Sokka said.
Aang put his hands behind his back. He obviously had thought of something 'convincing'.
"I guess we will never get to learn about the secret river that goes to the Firelord's palace. We were suppose to discuss it in class tomorrow.", Aang said.
Deidara face palmed in the background in annoyance. Sokka's eye narrowed a bit in curiosity.
"Well I am a big fan of secret rivers. Okay, two more days and that's it.", Sokka said.
"Flamey-o, hotman!", Aang cheered and ran off to explore the cave.
"Flamey-o?", Sokka asked in confusion, causing Katara shrugged.
"So you're not planning to go back to school, are you?", Toph asked as she faced Deidara.
"Why the heck would I want to? Like I said, it's boring, hm! All the teachers do is talk like they are talking to a bunch of two year olds! Heck, even the art teacher is one of the boring ones!-", Deidara said and and Toph slapped her hand on his mouth.
"I get it. And by the way, just you talking is starting to bug me now.", Toph said.
It was a long day the next morning. Aside from 'helping out' around the cave and gathering supplies, Deidara had to sneak back into the 'dry cleaners' and get rid of the school uniform. He was lucky the same man that was sleeping last time was not around at all. He shuffled through the clothing lines, looking for something good to wear.
He eventually found a slightly baggy, deep red V-neck tank top and a pair of slightly baggy black pants. He discarded the school uniform and put on the V-neck and pants. He added his own touches by keeping his finger-less gloves on and adding some spare bandage wrappings to his waist. He then found a pair of dark red tabis with a black edging, which gave him a good reason to get rid of the ridiculous knee high school shoes shoes.
Once he was fully changed, he bolted out of the 'dry cleaners'. Once he was a good distance away, he heard a scream. Deidara snickered.
'I guess he finally came back.', Deidara thought.
Deidara leaped into the distance, taking the long route instead of flying. He no longer had the cover of the clouds make his complete journey back to the cave safely or without attracting attention. He was sure he would also get another boring lecture if he did attract unwanted attention of the Fire Nation Army to the hideout.
Deidara eventually passed the school, which was currently letting out it's students, much to his distaste. He quickly put up a Transformation Jutsu to look like a random young adult with black hair and much to his own humor, he didn't even transform his eyes, face shape, or hair style. He knew that they would not even recognize him since him and Aang managed to trick the teacher into thinking they had really bad scars and burn marks. Of course Aang might catch up on it quickly.
Soon Aang came out, and that's when the other students' chatter increased. Aang happened to run into On Ji, to which surprised the former. At that point Deidara decided to get closer.
"Hi Kuzon. I really liked the crazy dance you did in music class.", On Ji said with a kind smile.
"If you want, I can do it again.", Aang said.
At that moment, Deidara noticed Hide heading towards Aang in anger. Hide sent a fire ball at Aang, shocking the latter.
"What did you just say colony trash?!", Hide asked.
"I was just offering to show her some crazy dance moves.", Aang said.
"Nobody shows my On Ji anything, especially moves!", Hide said.
At that moment, Deidara had enough of hearing Hide the Jerk's shrilly voice. Deidara marched forward with equal anger to Hide's own.
"What do you think you are doing, hm?!", Deidara asked glaring at Hide.
"What's it to you?", Hide asked in a snobby tone.
"Kuzon happens to be my kid!", Deidara lied, "And I will ask you again, what do you think you're doing, hm?!"
Aang was shocked to hear those words. He then appeared to realize who it was, mainly do the paper thin disguise being completely obvious to Aang. He then went along with what Deidara was saying.
"I'm fine, 'dad'.", Aang said, pretending to be embarrassed.
Deidara at the moment knew Aang had caught on and smirked internally. This was working as planned so far.
"I don't care if you are his grandma!", Hide sneered and threw a punch at Aang.
Aang dodged the punch with ease and got behind Hide. Hide began to attempt to follow Aang's spiral and graceful movements. He failed at doing so too, leading to Aang making him lose balance and fall on his rear. Hide then took it further and laid on the ground, pretending to be hurt, complete with sniffles. Deidara gave a disgusted look to Hide. He swore he would tie that kid up with his Explosive Clay if he said one more nasty remark.
At that moment the headmaster came out. He saw a 'hurt' Hide and an innocent Aang. He frowned at Aang.
"Picking fights on your second day? We need to have a discussion with your parents!", The headmaster said.
"I am his dad, let's have it now! No exceptions!", Deidara said sternly, giving the headmaster a glare.
The headmaster glared at Deidara. He nodded briefly and lead them to his office. He offered Deidara a chair, but Deidara refused, obviously still ticked off.
"So you are?", The headmaster asked.
Deidara knew that they assumed his real self was a kid with a very rare and abnormal hair coloring was Katsuro, that meant he could use his real name, and no one would make any connections with Team Avatar. Besides, this would be funny in the end when the Fire Nation learns he practically screwed with the school right under their noses.
"Deidara.", Deidara said.
"Last name?", The headmaster asked.
"No, hm.", Deidara said.
"Very well, your son has been here for two days and already has caused trouble. He disturbed music class, got into an argument with one of his teachers, and roughed up my star pupil.", The headmaster said.
"I don't buy the last two.", Deidara said.
"And what do you mean by that?", The headmaster asked.
"First off, Kuzon rarely argues with people. And second of all, he is not a violent person, hm.", Deidara said.
"Any parent would say those things, Deidara.", The headmaster said.
"What if they actually meant it? I want to hear Kuzon's side of the story.", Deidara said.
The headmaster looked at Aang. Aang swallowed a bit, slightly nervous.
"Well, the first one was because I corrected the teacher about the Fire Nation beating the Air Nomads. You see, me and my dad decided to visit the Air Temples at one point and we learned that the Air Nomads didn't have an army at all. It also looked more like an ambush. The second one was because I wanted to show my passion and decided to dance to the music. Though I thought I got in trouble for being a terrible Tsungi Hornist at first. The final one was I did it out of self defense.", Aang explained.
The headmaster narrowed his eyes. He looked to Deidara.
"Did you really visit the Air Temples?", The headmaster asked.
"Yes we did, hm.", Deidara lied, "Everything he said about the Air Nomads is true."
"That still doesn't excuse the other two.", The headmaster said.
"Oh you want me to confirm the third one? Well mister, I saw the whole thing! Your 'star pupil' is the one who roughed up Kuzon, not the other way around, hm!", Deidara said slamming his hand on the table.
The headmaster frowned in annoyance. This was the most hard headed, fiery, stubborn father he had ever meet in his years of working.
"I suggest you clean up your attitude, Deidara. I can have you arrested and Kuzon sent to the coal mines.", The headmaster said.
"You know what? Screw your incompetent school system, hm!", Deidara spat and grabbed Aang's wrist, "Come on, Kuzon. We are going home!"
Deidara dragged Aang out of the office and away from the school yard. Once they were a safe distance away from the school, Deidara released the Transformation Jutsu, surprising Aang.
"I knew you had a lot of special abilities, but that was completely different.", Aang said.
"It's a simple Transformation Jutsu. All ninjas learn it in the beginning of their studies.", Deidara said.
"So why did you do that?", Aang asked.
"After I saw Hide getting away with something he started, I thought I'd put him in his place. Obviously it didn't work out completely as I had planned, hm. I had planned to scare the crap out of him.", Deidara said.
"And the whole thing with the headmaster?", Aang asked.
"He's too stupid for his own good. I am sure he would never notice anything major happening, hm.", Deidara said with a smirk.
Aang didn't like the smirk that grew on Deidara's face. He couldn't really question the terrorist's ideas due to how vague they were. Whatever it was, it couldn't be good.
Later in the cave...
Sokka, Toph, and Katara listened to what happened at school and the discussion that happened with the headmaster. Sokka and Katara cringed at some of the parts while Toph smirked.
"Way to tell off authority, Golden Terror!", Toph said.
Sokka and Katara frowned at the Blind Bandit. Clearly not amused.
"Well it's safe to say this: NO MORE SCHOOL FOR YOU, AANG!", Sokka shouted as he took out a fake beard and put it on his face.
Sokka earned a 'really' look from everyone. He smirked as he stroked the beard.
"What? No love for Uncle Wang Fire?", Sokka asked.
Deidara Gibbs Slapped Sokka in irritation.
"Well, I am not ready to leave yet. I am having fun and getting to know what it's like to be a normal kid. You get to be normal all the time, Sokka.", Aang said.
Toph and Deidara laughed mockingly, earning a glare from Sokka.
"Please listen. Those kids in that school are the Fire Nation's future. If we want to change this place for the better, we need to give them a taste of freedom.", Aang said.
"What could you do for a bunch of depraved fire monsters?", Sokka asked.
"I'm gonna throw them...", Aang said then began to do some goofy dance moves, "A secret dance party!"
Everyone stared at him for a few moments. Sokka broke the silence when he pointed in a random direction.
"GO TO YOUR ROOM!", Sokka said in his Wang Fire voice.
The next night...
Aang's school day had been a bit tense, especially with the unease feeling that vibrated off the teachers. The headmaster even gave hateful glares at Aang. He was obviously held a grudge against him due to yesterday's talk. Bit that didn't matter, he and his friends were setting up the cave for the dance party. Deidara was a bit disappointed that he couldn't make his sculptures explosive like he normally does. He managed to find a way around that by hiding Paper Bombs underneath them. Deidara made sure they were all wired with a single trigger point. The Paper Bombs were weak however, but enough to scare off a massive crowd.
"I can't believe we are having a dance party. It seems so... Silly.", Sokka said as he hung up lanterns.
"Don't think of it as a dance party. Think of it as the cultural event of The Art of Fancy Foot Work.", Aang said as he finished tying his belt over his arrow tattoo, and let loose a few crazy moves.
Deidara rolled his eyes as he put his gloves back on before pushing his final sculpture into place. Toph finished using Earthbending to make the final table. After it was made, she became alert.
"They are coming! Stop Bending and using ninja stuff.", Toph said.
After Aang hid Appa, the cave began to fill up fast. The kids who had instruments climbed up onto the central pillars and began to play as the rest of the kids gathered around.
"Ladies and gentlemen! I give you, The Flamey-os!", Aang shouted before whispering, "This should get everyone moving."
"You may want to take a second look. The only movement I see is blinking, and I wouldn't call that dancing, hm.", Deidara said.
Deidara was right. The kids were blinking and had unsure looks on their faces.
"Now what are we suppose to do?", One student asked.
"This is when you start dancing to your heart's content.", Aang said.
"I don't think my parents want me to dance in a cave...", Chikashi said as he hid in his collar.
"What if someone catches us?", One rather fearful student said as he looked in every possible direction.
"I will let you take this issue from here.", Deidara said as he adjusted his gloves as the palm mouths started fighting for free movement.
'Stay still will you!', Deidara hissed in his mind.
"Oh brother.", Aang exasperated, "Listen everyone, dancing isn't just something you think about. It's a form of self expression that no one can ever take a way from you."
"Like my art, right?", Deidara asked, wondering if the reaction would be satisfying from the terrorist bomber.
"Let's discuss that one later.", Aang said with a slight cringe towards Deidara's crap eating smile.
"Maybe it was different in the colonies. We don't do that here, Kuzon.", One student said.
"Sure you have! Your nation has done it for generations! It so happens I know a few classic Fire Nation dance moves. One hundred years ago, this was know as the Phoenix Flight.", Aang said as he got low to the ground and raced along the floor.
Students were amazed by the dance and began to make some 'oh's and 'ah's. Deidara was a bit surprised at how quick Aang was to get the party started.
Aang then began to hop from one foot to the other, as he snapped his fingers to the rhythm of his own feet.
"And this is known as the Camelephant Strut.", Aang said.
Aang got close to a few girls, making them giggle. He saw some of the other kids join in and smiled. Aang continued to go down the list, occasionally showing his moves to the other girls up close.
"Yeah that's it! That's the sound of happy feet! Now everybody do it free style!", Aang said letting the students do it in their own special ways.
Deidara could see that Katara was slightly jealous. He smirked as he got a devious idea.
"Hey Kuzon! You got a jealous girl right over here, hm!", Deidara shouted across the room as he pointed at Katara, "I think she wants some too!"
Katara blushed immensely as her eyes widened. A few snickers sounded from Team Avatar's Peanut Gallery.
"What?! I'm not jealous!", Katara protested quickly.
Toph laughed her head off. She smirked.
"I am sorry Sugar Queen, but I know you are lying.", Toph said.
Katara's face redden so much, her face was brighter than her clothes. Deidara laughed to himself, satisfied that he just embarrassed Katara in front of everyone.
Aang went up to Katara with his hand out stretched. She was still blushing and felt her face heat up more.
"I-I am not sure, A-Aang. These shoes aren't meant for dancing, and I-I am not sure if know how to dance.", Katara said.
"Take my hand.", Aang said.
"Okay.", Katara said and did just that.
Once on the center floor, Aang and Katara intersected their forearms and began to circle each other. Many students stopped to see what was going on and began to crowd around Aang and Katara. Even Sokka and Deidara were watching.
"Aang, everyone is watching.", Katara whispered nervously.
"It's okay, no need to worry. It's just you and me.", Aang said with a smile.
Katara blushed again as the dance began to pick up. Various kicks and flips were incorporated in the dance. After a series of said movements, they got into each other's face and smiled before going back to the flips and kicks. They finished the dance with Katara in Aang's arms, both of them panting.
"If you want to finish that dance, you should get a room, hm!", Deidara shouted from the crowd.
Both Aang and Katara blushed heavily in embarrassment. They would deal with Deidara later. The students went back into their freestyle dancing, feeling free for the first time in their young lives.
Deidara then heard foot steps coming towards the cave. He turned to the entrance to see the female and male guards from days earlier and the headmaster. Deidara groaned in anger seeing them. The students saw the angry headmaster and shrunk back in fear. Aang was the only one who continued to dance.
"That's him! The boy with the headband!", The headmaster said.
Aang at the moment ran into the crowds fro hiding. At that moment, Deidara marched forward with an angry expression.
"Hey, old wrinkles! Get you and your dumbbells out of here!", Deidara shouted as he pointed at the entrance, "It's a disgrace here, hm!"
The headmaster frowned in anger at Deidara's insolence. The female guard attempted to grab Deidara, but to her shock, Deidara disappeared right into the ground. All of the students were too busy cowering to notice.
"Deal with Katsuro later. Get Kuzon!", The headmaster snapped.
The guards raced through the crowds. They thought they found Kuzon but only managed to find random kids wearing headbands. The headmaster grew even more annoyed with every new headband wearing student with a crap eating face pop up. Soon, the guards and the headmaster were surrounded by students. Every single one wore a headband.
In the back of the cave, Deidara popped out of the ground right next to Aang. Shoji turned around to wink at the two. Aang bowed before dashing deeper into the cave with Deidara. Aang closed the back entrance of the cave with Earthbending, surprising Shoji.
Once Team Avatar got on Appa, they flew away in the cover of the night. Some how, Sokka once more had the mustache and beard on his face.
"Sokka, you can take off the mustache now.", Katara said.
"Oh no I can't.", Sokka said stroking it, "It's permanently glued to my face."
Deidara sighed and ripped the mustache and beard off. It was not glue to his face permanently, but it did damage Sokka's pride a bit as it was taken off. Sokka lowered his head as he pouted.
"Way to go, dancy pants. I think you actually helped those kids. You taught them how to be free.", Toph said.
"I am not sure. It was just a dance party.", Aang said sheepishly.
"Well that was some dance party.", Katara said kissed Aang's cheek.
"Flamey-o, sir. Flamey-o.", Sokka said with clapping.
