It was silent as I walked out into the arena. I looked ahead of me and saw the golden egg sitting at the top of a nest. I sighed and gripped my wand. "You got this potter" I muttered to myself. I flicked my wand transforming rock into a bird. It flew up the infidelity got swept away by a tail. Everyone screamed as the horntail appeared and roared in my face. I staggered back clenching my fist. "Come on April don't seize up," I said to myself making eye contact with the dragon. With my wand raised, I glanced at the professor section before turning my attention to the horntail. "Imperio," I thought in my mind spelling the horntail. I heard the murmurs in the crowd as I stepped closer to the horntail still making perfect eye contact. "You aren't that scary girl" I smirked taking my hand out to pet it.
The horntail lowered its head after the pet and moved its tail showing the egg. "Thank you. Friend now aren't you feeling sleepy?" I made the Horntail close its eyes and breathe slowly. I climbed up the rocks towards the edge making sure the Imperio spell was still intact. As soon as my hand touched the egg, I realized it was dead silent the whole time. I looked towards the professor's tent and saw Dumbledore, Mr. Crouch, and Snape standing all with different facial expression. Only Ludo was clapping with a smile on his face. I looked at them and lifted up my egg.
It was sometime later in the tent while everyone was getting patched up for burn marks that Dumbledore, Snape, Mr. Crouch and mad eye approached me. "Ms. Potter that was the fastest time I've ever seen, but I must say your method was rather..alarming." I stood and shrugged. "I was only trying a spell my professor taught me isn't that right sir?" I turned to Mad-Eye flashing my innocent eyes. He nodded back with both eyes on me. "Impressive for your first time Ms. Potter" I smiled walking away from them over to Cedric "All right there Diggory" I pointed to his damaged arm. "Yeah I'm good you were incredible though" I just shrugged off the comment "Everyone is looking at me weird." Cedric noticed the glances we were getting "Just ignore them" I grinned "Thanks Diggory" Cedric gave me a nod as I took my egg and left the tent. "You won me 50 galleons" I smiled at the obnoxious voice. "Yeah well lucky you" Draco chuckled walking by my side to the castle "Did you get into trouble?" He asked brushing his arm with mine. "No they were just stunned, but I got the third place because of it despite my time" He nodded "Well as long as you not eliminated." I smiled glancing at him. "Stop getting soft on me Malfoy I don't like it" He stopped holding my arm. "I want you to like me." We stared at each other as his hand traveled down to my hand. "You know I've liked you since second year April, and I know you feel the same" He held my hand pulling me closer. "You kissed me back you know." I chuckled looking in his eyes. "You have to earn me Malfoy" I let go of his hand stepping back "Besides you know why we can't be together I'm a Potter remember" He smirked watching me walk away. "You're worth it!" He yelled.
When I walked into the common room, everyone applauded for me. I didn't use to get all this attention especially since everyone was rude a few days ago. "Potter! Potter!" Everyone chanted patting me on the back and such. I looked around to see Harry standing next to Hermione trying to get my attention. I flashed them a smile, but I saw the unease on Hermione's face. "Open the egg April," Fred said to my left. I chuckled and looked at the golden egg. "Let's see what this thing does," I muttered. As soon as I opened the egg, a high pitched scream sounded around the common room having everyone cover their ears. I winced immediate closing the egg back up. "Bloody hell!" I looked up and saw Ron standing in front of me with Harry behind him. Everyone started to disperse as Harry nudged Ron closer. "April Ron has something he wants to say to you."
Ron glanced at Harry then me sighing "Right I apologize for accusing you of putting your name in, but you know the spell you did was wrong right?" I shrugged holding onto my egg "Was it I mean our lovely professor thought it was okay to demonstrate the spell in class." "But April it's an unforgivable curse" Hermione voice standing beside Harry. "Look the deeds done so drop it." I brushed past the three and walked up to my dorm. The festivities weren't needed.
