YAAAAAAAAY CHAPTER TEN!
Route 5 wasn't any different from Route 4. We walked through the forest and saw a sign about an inn up head. We were going to stop there and eat. We let out our pokemon to eat berries on the way to the Go Inn. When we got to the inn we looked at it then we returned our pokemon. The inn was kind of looked like a regular old two-story house. Once we entered the inn it smelled of must. An old woman greeted us at the counter and asked us if we wanted to rent a room or just eat. I said both because it got pretty dark out. I handed her the money and she gave a white paper and it had Ella's phone number on it. I stuffed in my pocket really fast. She sat us down at a booth, handed us menus, and told us our room numbers. Momoko sat next to me and across from us were Rey and Sasha.
"What would you kiddos want to drink?"
"I would want some Berry Juice please." Rey said.
"Me too." Sasha chimed in.
"Vanilla Moomooshake for me." Momoko said.
"Pecha Berry Ice Tea please and thank you." I said.
"Alright coming right up." She went to the kitchen. When she was gone we started talking about the last Gym, but after a few minutes of that I excused myself to go call my mom.
"Tell Mrs. G we said hi." Rey said.
"Alright!" I shouted back as picked up the phone and dialed her number. The were few rings then my mom picked up.
"Hello who is this?" she asked.
"Hi mom." I said.
"Hi how are you honey!?"
"I'm doing good I have two gym badges now. How are you doing?"
"CONGRATULATIONS! I'm doing fine!" she yelled over the phone.
"Hehehe thanks mom and that's good."
"I wanna hear the stories later okay, but I have to go run an errand love you."
"Love you too and Rey, Momoko, and Sasha say hi."
"Tell them I say hi back. Now bye bye."
"Bye." I hung up the phone. I went back to our booth and saw our drinks there. I sat down started drinking my tea.
"So how's your mom?" Rey said after taking a big gulp of his drink.
"She's doing good."
"Well now what would you kids want to eat?" the old woman said. We looked at our menus.
"I'll have a BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger." I said.
"Oh yeah me too!" Rey exclaimed.
"I'll have the Sinnoh Salad." Sasha said.
"Why are you choosing a salad?" Rey asked disgusted.
"Because I have to keep a trim figure for the Pokemon Contest."
"Why the contest is for the pokemon not you."
"It's all about appeal oh my Arceus."
"Fine. Jesus christ." Rey said.
"Ya know wha-" Sasha was interrupted.
"I'll have the Spaghetti." Momoko said.
"Okay your food will be ready in a few minutes." the old woman walked away. We all started talking about what we were going to on Route 6. Sasha and Momoko said they were going to train. Rey read on his map that Goomys appear on Route 6 and 7, so he was going to try and catch one. Sasha as usual doubted him and they started to argue, but then the food came in and shut both of them up. We ate and had a great time. Then we finished up and went to our rooms to sleep. Rey was lying in his bed and started talking.
"Hey Armin?"
"Yeah what is it?" I said.
"I was thinking."
"About what?"
"When we get to Digons City, you think my dad is going to be proud of me?" Rey's dad was Landon, the Gym Leader of Digons City, he was a very stoic man. He barely showed love to Rey, but you know he did love him. Sometimes I think that is the reason why he acts the way he does. So he can get approval.
"Why wouldn't he by that time you would have three Gym badges." I remarked.
"Hmm hopefully." then he tossed over and fell asleep. I started wondering if my dad was still here would he be proud of me. I gripped and held the golden pokeball pendant before he died. I let go of it and tossed to the other side and fell asleep. The next day we checked out of the inn and started walking towards the Route 6 gate. We were walking and kept feeling like someone was following us. I looked behind me and saw nothing. We kept walking. I heard rustling in the bushes behind. We all looked at it. Rey and I walked over to the bushes and pulled someone out.
"H-H-Hey! Let me go!" the boy said struggling in Me and Rey's hands. The boy looked about eight, had black spiky hair like me, a green muscle shirt, gray shorts, and had white shoes.
"Not until you tell us why you were following us ?" Rey said.
"Well I was..."
"You were what?" Sasha yelled.
"I was following you guys, so I can battle you!" He looked up at me.
"Me!? Why!?" I said confused.
"Because I saw your Gym match at Beyo Town."
"There no one there, but us." I said.
"You do know that Gym battles are televised right?" he said with a smirk. I completely forgot they were televised. Great now my first loss is even more embarrassing. We let him go. He rubbed his wrists.
"So kid what's your name?" Rey asked.
"My name is Kiba and I'm ten!" Kiba yelled.
"Okay calm down. So that made you want to battle me?" I asked.
"Because you and your pokemon were cool."
"Well why not Rey?"
"Yeah why not me!?" Rey chimed in.
"Because you aren't cool."
"Why you little!" Rey ran towards Kiba. I caught up to him and held him back.
"Rey calm down."
"Well tell this snot-nosed bastard to be quiet."
"I'm not a bastard, bitch!" Kiba yelled. Rey started thrashing. It was really hard to hold him. He eventually calmed down.
"Fine we'll battle." I said as I let go of Rey.
"Yes!" Kiba jumped up and down. We backed up from each other and the others were standing on the sideline.
"So how many pokemon do you have Kiba and where are your parents?" I asked.
"I have one. They're in Beyo Town and they said I could battle you."
"Alright. Fine let's do this." I said as I reached for my pokeball.
"Go! Zephyr!"
"Nooooi!" Zephyr shouted.
"Go! Stinger!" Kiba yelled. Then a pokemon that was a small larva Pokémon with a rust-colored segmented body. Combined with its red, purple, or fuchsia nose and feet. Weedle had a conical, about a two-inch stinger on its head and a barbed one on its tail, but its other body parts are spherical.
"What pokemon is that!?" as I pulled out my PokeDex and scanned it.
"Weedle the Hairy Bug Pokemon. 0'11.8" and 7.05 lbs. It is a Bug/Poison Type. Its poison stinger is very powerful. Its bright colored body is intended to warn off its enemies. He knows the moves Poison Sting and String Shot."
"Are you done?" Kiba asked.
"Yeah let's do this." I put my PokeDex away.
"Alright Stinger use String Shot!" Kiba yelled.
"Zephyr dodge and use Gust!" Stinger shot out a web-like substance at Zephyr, but she dodged it. She then started flapping her wings and launched the wind at the Weedle. The Weedle tried to move, but got hit and flew back.
"Stinger get up and use Poison Sting." Kiba said. Stinger stood up, his horn became purple, and he charged at Zephyr.
"Dodge and use Bite." Noibat charged at Stinger with her fangs showing. Stinger got her first, but luckily she wasn't poisoned. Kiba triumphantly put his right fist in the sky.
"Zephyr use Leech Life." I said. She started to be surrounded by an red aura and then she charged at Stinger and bit his neck. Stinger started to glow a green aura.
"Wee Wee!" he howled.
"Hey stop that!"
"Sorry, but this how a battle works. She let go of him looking renewed. The Weedle fell to the ground, unconscious.
"Stinger return." Kiba said with his head down.
"Zephyr return." After I returned my pokemon, I walked up to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He looked up and was crying.
"Hey Kiba that was a good battle." I told him.
"B-But I lost." he sobbed.
"Hey look on the bright side at least you hit my pokemon once and hopefully you learned from this battle."
"Yeah I guess." He sniffled.
I lowered myself, so I was at eye-level with him. "Train some more and maybe months or years from now we can battle again."
"R-Really!?" He stopped crying.
"Yep!" I said as I stood up.
"Alright!" He said.
"Well see ya later." I said as I ruffled his hair and told everyone it was time go.
"Bye Armin!" he waved.
"Bye Kiba!" I turned around and waved back.
"I'm gonna beat you one day!"
"I'm looking forward to it!" I turned around, we walked for an hour, and went under the Route 6 gate.
Since it's spring break and we finally hit ten chapters I'm going to release 3 chapters next week!
