Chapter 9
***CC's POV***
"Ashei!" Link suddenly blurted out. I looked up from my noodles.
"'Scuse me?" I asked, gaping at him.
"There's this girl here in Castle Town," he explained. "She's kinda like a warrior because her dad trained her. She's the only other girl I know who can fight, so maybe she knows you."
Odd notion, but I sure as hell didn't mind meeting another kickass girl.
After finishing dinner, we headed south through Castle Town. The streets were still busy, but not as bad now that the sun had gone down. Torches along the town walls dimly lit the market street we traveled on. There were all kinds of stands for meat, veggies, fruits, bread and plants. I never realized how welcoming an open aired market was compared to the supermarkets we have at home...
We descended a few flights of stairs behind some buildings until we got to an empty stone courtyard and a door. The sign beside the door read 'Telma's Bar' in that weird Hylian alphabet. Something about the letters seemed familiar… maybe it was because they look like calligraphy.
I followed Link inside to a small, dim restaurant. There weren't many tables, but there were a hell of a lot of shelves with alcoholic beverages stacked up. A few people sat at a table at the far end of the room, but they seemed too engaged in conversation to recognize us.
Dark bar, alcohol everywhere, like no people… Sketchy much?
"Link… where the hell am I and what do you plan to do to me here?" I asked solemnly.
He laughed and smiled innocently. "It's not what you think." I just stared at him in suspicion.
"Is that Link I see over there?"
A woman peeking out the back room caught our attention. I tried to get a good look at her in the low light. She had tan skin and dark red hair, pulled into a high ponytail. She grinned and walked towards us, now completely out the back room and in full view.
Umm… It's not what I think huh?!
The first things I noticed were her watermelon breasts. Seriously, she had to be, like, a G Cup! If that's a thing... And knowing the lack of technology in Hyrule, they were real! She didn't even try to cover them up. The button up blouse she had on was only buttoned once right under the jugs, letting them spill out. Her lacy yellow bra didn't hesitate to grab eyes, either. Her hips were equivalent in size, being super wide under the floor length skirt she wore.
Don't get the wrong idea, people. I don't roll that way.
"Hey Telma," Link greeted when she stopped in front of us. I quickly pulled my eyes up.
"And who's this little honey?" She asked, leaning forward to me. It was all I could do not to stare down her cleavage. I felt so awkward and disturbed. Good lord, don't make this woman think I'm checking her out!
"This is CC," Link explained for me. "She's helping me fight around Hyrule." He put his arm around my shoulders and nonchalantly pulled me back. Thank God. Any closer and my face would have been tit fucked!
"Another one for the group?" Telma wondered. "Well come on over and meet the others, sweetie!" She gestured for us to follow her, and we started for the back table. Link grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"And Ilia calls me the pervert?" He whispered in my ear.
"S-shut up!" I whispered back, elbowing him in the side.
"Everyone, this is our new recruit, CC!" Telma introduced once we joined the table of four others. There was a guy with large round glasses, probably in his early thirties. The only girl had shoulder length black hair, probably Ashei. The next guy was an older man with almost no hair, but a mustache and short beard. The last person had a helmet on, covering their face.
"Fascinating…" the guy with the glasses examined me. "I don't believe I've ever seen someone with violet eyes as such!"
"Heh, thanks," I chuckled. "I get that a lot."
"Another girl fighter, huh?" The girl wondered. "Where do you train from?"
Well, to be truthful, I train under Master Yen Sid, but he's from a different world, as I am. Then again, I did take martial art classes for 6 years. I also practiced play-sword fighting with my best friends…
"CC has amnesia," Link explained.
Or, ya know, you could just tell them that.
"Another case, eh?" The older guy said. "Seems to be getting more common…"
"A while ago, Ilia was kidnapped and had amnesia," Link told me. "She couldn't even remember her name."
"Things are turning out like back then, huh?" The guy with the helmet spoke up. He, Rusl, lifted the helmet and set it on the table. "So what's the plan this time?" Link looked at me, and everyone else's eyes followed. Oh great, I'm the spotlight…
"Well, if I interpret what Princess Zelda said correctly," I drew my sword and placed it on the table, "this sword can use the power of light power. But Zant used the darkness to shatter its full power, and now the pieces of light needed to complete the sword are scattered with the giant Heartless."
"Search and destroy," Ashei summarized.
"Is there any way we can help?" Shad asked.
"If the number of Heartless increase in an area, then a boss is sure to follow," I stated. "You could watch for any changes."
"Will do," Rusl said. "The rest of Hyrule's fate will have to be up to you." They all bowed their heads to use one by one. Link and I looked at each other and smiled.
A hint of nostalgia blew over me in that moment. I was saving the world—for the fifth time—with someone I hardly knew, yet I was eager to learn about. But even though this was Big Adventure #5 for me, it reminded me of only my very first adventure; the beginning of it all. I wondered why I felt that way, and what lied on the road ahead.
***Link's POV***
He'd done it. It was hard enough to avoid imagining what it would be like, and he just had to make it a reality…
Everyone—except Uli, Colin, and Ilia—was going on a vacation to Castle town. The day after CC and I got back, everyone was finishing up packing for the weekend trip. Rusl came back with us with a horse-drawn carriage for everyone to pile in. Oh, did I mention who was left in charge of the village?
"I'm just so excited!" Ilia said. "I've always wanted to take charge!"
"Mm-hm," was all CC and I groaned. Wow, CC's only known Ilia for a few days and she just as annoyed with her as I am.
Ilia rambled on and on about what she would do if she was mayor, and CC and I just sat there attempting to tune her out. How in the world did Mayor Bo find it in himself to even think of letting Ilia run the village? For Din's sake, she probably wouldn't know what to do in an emergency!
"Ilia!" Her father called from outside. She finally stopped talking and pranced outside.
"Please tell me we're not staying," CC whispered. I shook my head slowly.
"I told Fado I'd look after the goats," I said.
"Urgg… you're supposed to be a hero, not a farmer."
I shrugged. "I was a farmer first, so..."
"Link! CC!" Ilia's voice came. We both groaned and went outside. Everyone who was going on the trip sat inside Rusl's wagon. Rusl sat where he could steer the two horses. Colin, Uli, and the mayor all stood outside the carriage.
"We'll be off now," Mayor Bo announced. "If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to send a letter."
"Don't worry, Father!" Ilia insisted. "They'll be fine as long as I'm here to mayor them! After all, I am your daughter!"
What a load of bull.
Mayor Bo joined everyone in the wagon and Rusl lead them up the hill through the woods.
"YES!" Ilia cried out. CC and I let out a long groan in misery.
"Is something wrong?" Colin walked up to us. We only shook our heads.
"My first decree!" Ilia yelled. "Link, stop being such a deku nut!"
"Of course…" I sighed.
"Second! Uli, you just sit back, relax, and have the baby already!"
"Having a baby takes time, dear," Uli said serenely.
"Third! CC, you and I shall have all girl nights every night this weekend! We can gossip and do hair and dress up —ohh it'll be so much fun, yeah?!"
CC only forcefully, painfully, smiled and nodded. I didn't blame her, though.
"What do you want me to do, Ilia?" Colin asked excitedly.
"You keep being cute and adorable, Colin!" She ruffled his hair. "Show your new sibling how it's done!"
"Ok!" Colin giggled.
"Well, if you're done making laws," I said nonchalantly, "I guess I should go check up on the goats."
"Fine," Ilia said. "And if just one goat gets loose and runs amuck down here, I'm taking Epona for the weekend, you hear mister?"
"Loud and clear, Ilia," I groaned as CC and I headed up for the ranch.
"You sure we can't just leave the ranch to Colin?" CC thought up yet another alternative.
"CC, he's nine," I pointed out.
"So?! How old were you when you started helping out with the goats?"
"Fourteen."
"Oh... damn it."
"Link! CC!" Ilia's voice came from outside my house. I peeked out the door, finding her and Colin waiting.
"Colin and I are bored and he wants to know if we can play a game," she said.
"That depends," CC poked her head out. "What game?"
"Hide and Seek," Colin answered quietly. CC, Ilia and I all exchanged glances. He does know he's asking three teenagers to play a child's game, right?
"That sounds fun!" CC said. "Can it be hide and seek tag?"
"Ooo, even better!" Colin gasped in excitement.
"I guess we could," I agreed.
"Yeah, being mayor was getting a bit boring…" Ilia added. "So who's it?"
"I volunteer Ilia," CC quickly said. Colin and I nodded in agreement.
"What?!" Ilia shouted. "Fine, but just for that, if I catch you, you owe me girl bonding not just at night but whenever I want!"
"Oh lord..." CC mumbled, slightly turning pale.
Ilia began counting to fifty and we all scurried off in separate directions. I ran towards the springs and hid in the small tunnel in the rock wall. With my green tunic on, I camouflaged perfectly with the greenery.
I'd hoped CC found a good hiding spot from Ilia. I wasn't too happy of the fact that CC was already spending every night at Ilia's, but now she might be stuck with her all day every day?! That's beyond torture!
A scream echoing through the forest stopped me in mid thought. Was that CC? Ilia must have found her... A different scream soon followed and I figured that was Colin. As much as I wanted to help them, I didn't move from my spot.
Sure enough, the sound of nearing footsteps froze me there anyway. They started off running, then stopped for a moment. The vines in front of the tunnel only allowed me to see a figure, but I couldn't tell who. Either way, It was too tall to be Colin, so I stayed silent in case it was Ilia. She continued down towards the bridge to Faron Woods. Relieved, I sighed quietly.
Leaves rustling directly behind me made me nearly jump out my skin. I quickly looked back to find the brunette crawling in and coming around the turn.
"Ah! Link?!" She flinched when she saw me.
"This is my spot. Go hide somewhere else!" I ordered.
"Screw that! Ilia's like a freakin' assassin out there! She won't find me here."
"Yeah right! I'm at least camouflaged in green; you're wearing purple!"
"Too bad! Scooch over!" She tried to crawl in more, squishing us both side by side in the tunnel.
"No! We're not both gonna-!"
We both went silent at the sound of footsteps yet again. They were in a fast walk as they approached, and I could feel the two hearts in the tunnel begin racing.
"Link! CC!" Ilia yelled. "C'mon, this is serious!"
"What? Maybe we should-" I began in a whisper.
"No!" CC stopped me. "She's trying to trick us!"
"I really am serious, guys!" Ilia continued. "It's Uli- the baby's coming!"
Ahh the second half of this was so much fun writing... you know, one of those days at like 2am when you're sleep deprived. Good times...
Anyway, this is the second to last chapter I have prewritten, so it might be a little while before I upload another. Luckily, midterms are approaching and the next semester will hopefully be very easy on me. I have no class first period, so I'll probably be in the library, typing. One thing you don't have to worry about is me being out of ideas, because I have the ENTIRE fanfiction planned out! I've got lots of things in store for this, so hopefully I'll keep your attention.
So! That's all I really have to say, so see you guys in the next chapter!
