Chapter ten

He is the Western Lord after all

General pov

It had been two days since the incident occurred. Since Shippo knew that the pack was following him he set to find a solution. If they continued to follow him he would lead them straight to his mother. He didn't yet know if he wanted them to know that Kagome was still here. So he did the only thing he could think to do. Unlike the others he would not take the choice away from Kagome. Taking out some paper and a crayon he wrote his mama a small note.

'Mama,

The pack has followed me. What do you want me to do? Bring them or trick them into going another way? It is your decision to make. I will make camp here and buy you some time. Please decide quickly. I love you mama.

-Shippo'

Then while no one looked he charmed it with a special foxfire. It burned before him.

Kagome pov

Another overzealous fox kit had injured himself. This one however had managed to break an arm and two ribs. Luckily natural healing abilities and his early delivery to me made a potentially deadly accident a mere bump in the road. It was nice having advanced training making the whole process a walk in the park. Finished I stood up. "Alright little one, your on bed rest at least until tomorrow morning. Now next time keep in mind you don't advance in rank by being foolish and self destructive."

"Hai priestess Kagome. Thank you." He mumbled as he fell to sleep.

Stepping outside I went to my tent. There I intended to make my dinner and rest. But instead I found a letter on my bed. Smiling I noticed Shippo's aura surrounding it. Picking it up i unrolled it. Reading it, I felt my heart ache. Indecision raked through my mind. What was I supposed to do now? I couldn't leave my son, and he needed this training. What to do... So I decided there was only one thing to do. I would have to ask for some help. And I knew exactly the demon to ask for said help. After all he was the most clear, level headed demon I know. Though not emotionless as many thought he was ,,,,,honorable and used to these type of decisions. He is the western lord after all.
