Naruto was in his apartment. Hearing a knock, he goes to open the door. "Anko?" he said surprised. "What brings you here love?"
"What I can't visit my boyfriend?"
The two embrace. "How you been my Hebi-hime?"
"Good, my future Hokage," said Anko. She sees the down cast look. "What wrong Naruto-kun?"
"I don't think I am ready," said Naruto. "The Hokage is a position of the strongest. I don't qualify.'
"This is about Itachi?"
"Yes if I had seen the signs earlier he could have stayed," said Naruto. "If I had gotten to him faster before the massacre things would've been different."
"You can't blame yourself," said Anko.
"I am just about to make some dinner. Dango sound good?" asked Naruto.
"Fine but we were not done with this talk," said Anko.
"Your persistent," stated Naruto. "That's why I love you."

Next morning, Naruto feels something squishy on his head. He opens his eyes and see Anko next to him, her breasts nestled behind his head. Get gets up waking Anko in the process. "Morning Naruto-kun."
"Morning Hebi-himi," said Naruto.
"What's on today agenda?" asked Anko.
"I have to go in for training."
"Well good luck," said Anko.

Naruto was in the Hokage office. "Welcome, ready for today's lesson?" asked Hiruzen.
"Yes Sarutobi-sensei," said Naruto.
"You will be shadowing me these few weeks. When I think your ready, I will give you more responsibilities," said Sarutobi. I will give you situation and you will think up solutions.'
"Hai."

Naruto was looking up some reports. "Sarutobi-sensei," said Naruto. "I found some discrepancies in our finance report."
"What did you find?" asked Sarutobi.
"I did the math and the village has lost over Two Hundred Million Ryo," said Naruto. "The weird part is there is nothing that was purchased."
We should look into it," said Sarutobi. "What do you think of the academy standards?'
"It is horrible," said Naruto. "The standards have fallen."
"That is what I figured. What is your solution?" asked the Hokage.
"We should have them learn chakra control in the second year. Third year they should learned the academy three and the acadermy taijutsu. Fourth year they should be required to learn a D rank or C rank jutsu as well as putting them in situation that will reqire them to work as a team," said Naruto. "The other issue is they put the student against each other too often with the titles of the Rookie of the Year and Dead Last."
"What about the first year?"
Simple, basics. History, survival and some strategy," said Naruto. "First year should be mostly book work with some light workout."
"Very good," said Sarutobi. "I was thinking along the same lines. I was right to pick you as my successor.'
"Hai.'
Naruto had been helping Sarutobi with his reports. Over the hours they went over strategies and team placement. "You have done a great job Naruto-kun," said Sarutobi. "Want to go for food?"
"No thank you," said Naruto. "I am still a sensei. How our my other two students doing.'
"Kiba has been put into tracking team. As for Sasuke. He is rotates his shift with several squads."
"I think a mission is overdue," said Naruto.
"What level?" asked Sarutobi.
"B rank for now," said Naruto.
"I will have them meet you tomorrow," said Sarutobi.

Sasuke was in the Uchiha training field. An Anbu appears. "You are to report to Hokage-sama for a mission."
"I will be there," said Sasuke.
Kiba was sparing with Hinata. The two stop as a chunin appears. "Inuzuka-san, you have been requested for a mission."
"Understood."
"Be careful, Kiba-kun," said Hinata.
"Thanks Hinata-chan," said Kiba.

Sasuke and Kiba and Ino where waiting in front of the Hokage's office. Naruto walks out. "You're on time. Come inside."
The former team 7 waited. "The mission is simple B rank. You are to escort the merchant who is going to the capital to get materials for weapons. Who would you place as the team leader?"
"I will let them decided," said Naruto. "Take a minute to make that choice."
"I nominate Sasuke," said Kiba surprising everyone.
"Please state your reasoning?" asked Naruto.
"His is chunin, like me but I think he is more qualified and is more skilled," said Kiba.
"I second the nomination," said Ino.
"Do you accept to be team captain?" asked Naruto.
"I do, but I think Kiba should be made second should I be unable take command," said Sasuke.
"You have all matured, I am proud of you," said Naruto. "Meet your client at the South Gate."
"Hai."

Team 7 where at the Gate as the client walks up. Behind him was a small caravan. "They gave me the best. I am honored," said the man. "I am Takada, I am under your protection."

Naruto sighed. "We should have a meeting with the council about the changes in the academy."
In the council chambers Naruto was standing behind the Hokage. "Why did you call this meeting Hokage-sama?" asked Hiashi.
"My apprentice and myself have dicided to change the academy standard," said Sarutobi. "Our ninja have become weaker because the standards have fallen."
Shikaku frowned. "What are the changes?"
"Naruto-san," said Sarutobi.
Naruto walks up. "On your desk are the changes I propose. First year will be academic, Stratagy, History, Survival and diplomacy. Second year. Should be chakra control and basic taijutsu. They can branch off near the end of second year to an advanced form. Third Year should be the academy three jutsu as well as learning team work. By the end of the Third year they should be able to perform the three jutsu with one hand. It will not be a requirement, but consider it extra points in the over all four years."
"And the fourth year?" asked Choza.
"They should be taught their element natures and the excises and a D rank jutsu for that element," said Naruto. "It will drop our pass rate, but the quality of our Shinobi will be better."
"I think it is a excellent suggestion," said Hiashi. "The mortality rate will be lowered and we will have stronger ninja."
"Next year we will implement the new standard," said Sarutobi. "Meeting adjourned.'

It had been several days since team 7 went on their solo mission. An Anbu appears. "Hokage-sama. Team 7 is back, but Inuzuka-san has been injuired."
Naruto gets up. "How are the others?"
"The other too have minor cuts but nothing serious," said the Anbu.
"I am heading to the hospital," said Naruto. "You coming Hokage-sama.'
"Let's go.'

Naruto appears out side the hospital with Sarutobi. The two enter and walks up to the desk. "What room is Kiba Inuzuka in?" asked Naruto.
"101," said the receptionist.
"Thank you."
The two head up the stairs and into the waiting room. Sasuke was sitting on a couch next to Ino. Both looked depressed. "What happened?" asked Naruto.
"We were ambushed," said Sasuke. "Everything was fine. We left the capital and we're on our way back when we were ambushed by five chunin and a jounin."
"Kiba took a hit that would have killed me," said Ino tears on her face.
They were all rouge ninjas," said Sasuke. "I failed as a squad leader."
"The fact you made it out alive is a plus," said Naruto. "What do you think Sarutobi-sensei?'
"Unexpected thing like this happen," said the old Hokage. "I am concerned they waited till after you delivered the target."
"It would not be impossible for them to target clan heir," said Naruto. "It is too much of a coincidence. We have a leak.'
Tsunade walks out. "How is Kiba-kun?" asked Sarutobi.
"He will live," said Tsunade. "He will be taken off active roster for a month."
"Understood," said Naruto. "Thank you Tsunade-sama."
It is why I came back," said the blond Sannin.
"Sensei," said Sasuke. I have the head of the ninjas who attacked us."
"We will give one to Inoichi to probe his memory," said Naruto. "The rest will be turned into the collection office for their bounty."
"I am marking this as an S rank mission due to the situation," said Sarutobi.
Hai, Hokage-sama," said the Sasuke and Ino.

It had been several days since Inoichi went through the ninja memory. Naruto and Sarutobi were talking about the proper course. In front of them was a report. "This disturbing," said Sarutobi. "We have no choice."
"I know this hurts you," said Naruto. "He was your teammate, but he betrayed the village."
"Order all Anbu," said Sarutobi.
"Hold on," said Naruto. "I think we should get Sasuke and myself to arrest Danzo."
"Are you sure?"
"We owe Sasuke that much," said Naruto. "Anbu. Bring me Sasuke Uchiha.'

Later that night Danzo was in one of his bases. He hear a explosion. "Root, where under attack.'
Naruto and Sasuke just destroyed the door to the underground bunker. "All Anbu move in and converge on the target," said Naruto over radio. Naruto and Sasuke were heading down the hall. They come across several Root operatives. "Let's handle these guys.
"Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu," said Sasuke.
Naruto appeared behind the operative and kicked him into the other one that was burning. "Flying Rajin."
In a yellow flash, Naruto killed all of the operatives. "Sensei."
"Saved your energy," said Naruto. The two have more skirmishes and are joined by serveal Anbu. Getting to two doors, the five man team enter it. "You are under arrest, Danzo."
"It is a honor to face you in combat Demon," said the voice of Danzo.
"Why?" asked Naruto.
"The village needs to be protected," said Danzo. "The roots of the village are the strongest to hold up the tree the Konoha.'
"That doesn't excuse you for all you have done," said Sasuke. "You had my clan murdered for a crime you fabricated.'
"Do you hate me young Uchiha?" asked Danzo.
"Yes, but I will not kill you unless you force us too," said Sasuke. "Surrender."
"Just like the Hokage. Soft."
"Surrender Danzo," said Naruto. "Or your life is forfeit."
Danzo goes through hand seal. "Wind style: Slicing air wave."
Naruto goes through his own hand seals. "Wind Style: GreatBreakthrough.'
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu," said Sasuke. The fire and wind increase each other's power, hitting Danzo. "That take care off that."
The smoke clears and Danzo robe is burned. Sasuke and Naruto are horrified. "What," said Naruto. "That's why you had the Uchiha clan terminated."
Bastard," said Sasuke. On Danzo arms where the Sharingans. "You stole those eyes!"
Naruto sees one of them closed. "Inzanaga.'
"Sensei," said Sasuke.
"Keep hitting him," said Naruto. "Until we force him to close all those eyes he is immortal."
"You were always dangerous," said Danzo. "I will have to kill you first."
"Raikiri," said Naruto as he plunges his hand into Danzo chest. Another eye closes. Sasuke throws shurikens at Danzo hitting him. He substitutes with a chair. He reappears in front of Naruto sword drawn. Blocking with his kunai. Naruto kicks Danzo away.
"Chidori," said Sasuke as he impales Danzo. The third eye closes.
"You two are a threat to Konoha and I will be you executioner," said Danzo. "Summoning Jutsu."
A large Tapir appears. "Take out his summon,' said Naruto "Wind Style: Sonic Boom.'
Naruto eyes reveal the Sharingan. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Bomb."
The two attacks roast the summon. "It's over Danzo. Last chance surrender," said Naruto.
Sasuke takes out a kunai and reappears behind Danzo and with a fire enhanced chakra decapitates Danzo. The eye on his arm closes. Naruto seals the body in a scroll and the head. "We're done," said Naruto.

The two were in front of Sarutobi. "Mission complete Hokage-sama," said Naruto. "Danzo has been executed."
"It pained me to order it," said Sarutobi. "How are you holding up Sasuke-kun.'
"I am glad it's done, but can we bring Itachi back?" asked Sasuke.
"When it is time," said Sarutobi. "Right now your brother is part of a group we need Intel on. Three years we will call him back."
"Thank you Hokage-sama," said Sasuke.
"Sasuke," said Naruto. "Catch."
Naruto tosses the Uchiha a scroll. "That is the training method to learning Fire Style: Fire Strom. An S rank Jutsu."
"This is Uchiha jutsu."
"Your father gave it to me year ago. I learned it but it is you birthright," said Naruto. "You have made me proud."
"Thank you sensei," said Sasuke.
