Chapter 9
BTW, i changed a little bit at the beginning of the last chapter, for those who are interested, okay, on with the actual story. :)
It is 7 in the evening and Sirius comes down the stairs after putting Harry to bed to find Remus, making himself a cup of tea.
"So, Christmas, what shall we do?" asks Sirius.
"Even though it's going to be hard, for all of us, we need to try and make it seem normal, for Harry's sake"
"So you want to do the whole thing, tree, decorations, turkey".
"Well we don't have to worry about that, Molly Weasley has invited us round for Christmas dinner"
"Really!"
"Yes, but I think it would be nice to get a tree, Harry wasn't old enough to enjoy Christmas last year, he wasn't even 2 months old"
"Very true, all right, let's do it, you wanna go to Diagon Alley in a couple of days, and stock up?"
"Diagon Alley, are you serious? What if people see us, see Harry?" counters Remus
"We're going to have to deal with it at some point, besides, Harry will need to deal with it as well, c'mon Remus, he's the most famous person in our world, there isn't a child, who doesn't know his name"
"Fine, Diagon Alley, shall we say, tomorrow, it is Saturday after all?"
"Deal, tomorrow it is"
The next day, Sirius, Remus and baby Harry are stood in the living room, ready to go to Diagon Alley.
"Wait, how are we getting there?" asks Remus.
"I thought Floo Powder"
"And land in a busy shop full of people, what about apparition, that way we can land in a less populated area, and try to keep our heads down, at least for a short while"
"Fine, where though?"
"Entrance to Knockturn Alley"
"Okay see you in a second then" replies Remus before disappearing into thin air.
"All right then Harry, let's go shopping", and with that Sirius also disappears and then reappears next to his friend (who has summoned Harry's pram) at the entrance to Knockturn Alley.
"Let's do this" says Sirius, after putting his godson into the pram and strapping him into it.
The two friends (Sirius pushing Harry) then start walking down Diagon Alley, agreeing with each other that Gringotts Bank was the first place they should go to. However, on the way there, they notice people staring at them, children and adults alike. Suddenly a woman, who appeared to be in her late 20s or early 30s, came up to them, with two children behind her, a boy aged 9 and a girl aged 5.
"Are you Sirius Black and Remus Lupin?" she asked.
"Yes" answered Remus.
"And is this little fella Harry Potter?"
"Yes, it is"
"Oh my god, I'm sorry for coming over, it's just I had to ask of the poor mite's ok"
"He's fine, thank you for asking, now if you excuse us, we are rather busy".
"Oh of course, I do apologise"
The woman then takes her children and walks away, leaving Sirius and Remus a little dumbstruck.
"See, not everyone is dramatic about this" says Sirius.
"No, they're just afraid of Harry".
"Why would they be afraid of a one year old?"
"A one year old that defeated the most evil wizard there's ever been"
"Good point, come on, let's go to Gringotts"
They then walk away down the street to the big white building that was the wizarding bank.
