Hey guys!

So...Yeah, sorry about the wait. I had to do a lot of thinking about this book, there was just something off about it. (Turns out that was the lack of villain. xD)

So, I hope you enjoy this chapter! (There is also a huge announcement down at the bottom!)

Chapter ten.

"My Lady." She said as she curtsied. She kept her head bowed, even though she wanted to see the face of her mistress.

"Hello, my servant." The strong voice of a powerful female boomed. It made her guest smile with excitement, a bubbling feeling she hadn't experienced in a long time. "What is your name?"

"My name is Angel Mirren." She told her mistress, then raised her head. In the darkness, she couldn't see details of the other lady in the room, but she could see the shadowy figure cast by the dark. "I need your help, Lady Torment."

"Mmm.." Lady Torment drawled as she stood up. Angel felt her heart pounding like a drum as her mistress got closer. "What do you wish for, Angel Mirren?" She asked.

Angel felt her smile fade at the memories that plagued her. "I want revenge, My Lady." She told her. She could feel her anger bubbling like a volcano, erupting into hatred for the people who wronged her. They needed to pay for what they did.

Angel watched as Lady Torment walked away. No! She was too close now! "My Lady, please!" She begged. She couldn't lose. "I need to get revenge on them!"

"Are you a true follower of me, Angel Mirren?" Lady Torment asked, turning her head towards the young woman. "Or have you just come for my help?"

Angel took a step forward. She would do anything to make them pay. "I am a true follower, My Lady." She said. "And I will do whatever you wish in return for my revenge."

Lady Torment walked into the light. Her pale blue dress was made of satin and swept against the floor in a regal manner. Her honey colored ringletes were highlighted with blue and reached her back, gracefully swaying with every step. And her dark, cobalt blue eyes glimmered in the light of the sliver moon. She was beautiful, and so dangerous. "Get me the Flash and his child." She said. "Then I will help you."

Angel grinned as her chest tightened with tears of relief. She would get revenge, they would pay. "Thank you, My Lady." She thanked.

Lady Torment smiled as she sat on her throne. "Bring me the Flash and his child." She said. "Your wings have been clipped by the wrongdoings of men, you are no longer an angel, you are the Tormentor. Find me my prey."

Tormentor nodded. "Yes, My Lady." She said, then turned and left.

Lady Torment laughed. Soon the speedsters would be hers.

"Hey." Iris greeted as Barry walked back into the Cortex. "You okay?" She asked. She still remembered what it was like to find out that Barry was the Flash. She knew that it had to be hard to find out that your daughter has the same powers.

Barry sighed as he hung back up his suit. "I feel like a bad father." He admitted. His heart felt like a rock weighing down his chest. "I'm the cause of all of this."

Iris laughed, causing Barry's head to snap up. "Don't give yourself so much credit, babe." She told him as she stood and walked to him. "You can't blame yourself for everything. This is Zoom's fault, not yours."

Barry laid his head on her shoulder and inhaled deeply. Her sweet, flowery smell filled his nose and made his heart flutter like butterfly wings. "She doesn't deserve to be a meta." He said, then sighed as he realized that the way he said it made it sound like she didn't deserve to be special. "Oh, that came out wrong.."

Iris shook her head. "No, I get it." She said. "You want her to be treated like a human, not the way metas are being treated these days." She was so sick of the way metas were treated like wild animals, it needed to end.

Barry sighed. "How did we get into this mess?" He asked. "Zoom, and metahumans.. Why couldn't we just have a normal life? Imagine what our life would be like without all of that!"

Iris sighed. She had many days where she wondered what she would be like if the particle accelerator had never gone off. But she knew that if they had continued living normal lives, she probably wouldn't have started dating him, and he would have never adopted Charlie. "But imagine everything we wouldn't have, Barry." She said. "You probably wouldn't have Charlie, and I wouldn't have you."

Barry nodded. "Yeah.." He replied, then looked around. "Where's Charlie?" He asked.

Iris smiled. She was happy that he was asking about Charlie. Even though she knew he would never give her up or leave her, she was a bit scared for a moment. "She's with her Uncle Cisco. I think he's getting measurements for a suit." She said playfully.

Barry nodded, then kissed her. Her lips were soft and tasted like coffee, and it made him smile. "Thanks." He said, then walked off.

Iris sighed happily. It felt good to help Barry, not only because he was her boyfriend, but because he always helped them. It felt good to repay the kindness.

She looked down at her watched, then gasped. Her break was long over, she should have been back an hour ago.

She looked in the direction Barry had walked off in, then ran to her car. She would talk to him more later.

Barry walked into Cisco's inventing room. "Making my baby into a superhero, Ramon?" He asked as he leaned against the door frame. He knew that the answer was probably yes, but he almost hoped it was no. It wasn't that he didn't want his daughter to protect the innocent, it was that he didn't want her getting hurt.

Cisco looked up and grinned. "Oh yeah." He said as he leaned over and pushed Charlie's swing. "She's gonna be my little superhero!"

Charlie squealed and clapped her hands, and Barry smiled at the way her eyes glimmered happily. "Do you want that, Baby Girl?" He asked. He would obviously train her to harness her powers, but they would revisit the superhero idea when she was much older.

"You need a superhero name, Charlotte." Cisco told her playfully, then ruffled her black ringlets. "Hmm... You'll have to give Uncle Cisco some time to think about that one. Unless you have one, Char."

Charlie babbled and stuck her hand in her mouth, getting droll all over her hand and Flash footed onesie Cisco had made for her. (It was made from premium alpaca wool, and was Charlie's favorite outfit.)

"I think we should come up with something that rolls off the tongue a bit better, Char." Cisco said, trying to keep the baby happy. "But keep up the good work."

Charlie yawned, then began sucking her thumb. It made Barry's heart swell. He loved his baby girl more than anything in the world. She was perfect in his eyes, and he would give up anything for her. Including his speed.

"So, any names yet?" Barry asked jokingly, even if he was slightly interested in it. "Please don't say The Streak."

Cisco laughed. His laughed filled the whole room and cause Charlie to smile in her light sleep. "No, I was thinking The Blur." He teased.

Barry cringed at the thought of his little girl being called something as dumb as that. He was lucky he was able to get Iris to make him the Flash. "Oh gosh, please don't." He said.

Cisco shrugged. "Okay." He said. "But don't blame me if that was the name she truly feels fits her."

Barry sighed. "Well, I'm sure you can come up with a better one."
