Chapter Ten: Co-workers; And Sneaky Best Friend's.
John strolled off the elevator with pink cheeks, he slowly made his way back to his cubical and sat down staring off into space he didn't notice all the eyes on him.
"John?" Teyla's voice interrupted his thoughts.
Turning he smiled at Teyla "Hey Teyla. Did you need something?".
Smiling Teyla sighed "I was just wondering if you were okay? Lorne had said you were quite angrily earlier?".
"Oh that" John suddenly remembered the reason he had gone to see Ronon in the first place; how had everyone found out he was gay if not from Ronon? Had Amelia told someone? No. She was too nice and kind of a person to do that.
"Yeah I'm fine Teyla just thinking" John replied with a half-hearted smile.
"Are you still angry at Lorne? He was worried so he asked me to speak with you" Teyla explained.
John's eyes widened "Oh no! I wasn't angry at Lorne" he quickly walked over to Lorne's desk seeing he wasn't there he glanced around seeing him in the otherwise empty break room John made his way over.
"Lorne?" John called out.
The blonde man smiled awkwardly "Hey".
"Lorne I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you think I was angry with you!" John quickly corrected the other man's mistake.
The blonde let out a relieved breath "Oh good, I was worried there for a bit".
John smiled "I was angry at someone else, you just brought my attention to them" he sighed leaning against the counter "So how did you find out?".
"That your gay?" John nodded with a grimace "Oh from Jennifer, she told me she saw you making out with some big hunk in the parking lot".
John blinked shocked "She saw me?" he asked incredulously.
Lorne nodded "Yeah".
John gave him a look "Did you tell anyone?".
Lorne smiled awkwardly "I'm not going to lie, I told Teyla".
John nodded with a smile.
"I had an inkling that you had a taste for the same sex but I wasn't a hundred percent positive" Lorne grinned with a wink "Too bad I wouldn't have minded you liking me" with that cheeky comment he strolled back out to his desk.
John stared at after him with a dark blush. Shaking his head John started getting himself a cup of coffee; this had been a strange day and it was only ten in the morning.
After working quietly without interruption for a couple of hours, John decided lunch was in order. Smiling he said bye to his co-workers and headed off up to Liz's office where he had lunch almost every day. Once on Liz's floor he waved at Zalenka who nodded to say go ahead, John strolled over and opened the door smiling as he saw Liz sitting on the couch. That was until he saw the pair of long legs stretched out on the couch across from her, following those long legs John's eyes were led to the handsome face of Ronon Dex.
"Hey John!" Elizabeth smiled evilly, "I thought it would be nice to invite Ronon to eat with us today, I hope that's alright".
John smiled his cheeks heating up almost immediately 'Witch' he thought internally "Yeah that's fine" was what came out of his mouth.
Forcing himself to walk over John took his usual seat by Elizabeth, "Hi John" Ronon smiled charmingly; thoroughly enjoying seeing John embarrassed.
John let a soft smile; "Hi Ronon".
"So you two meet up every day for lunch?" Ronon asked serving some of the sushi that Elizabeth had bought for them.
John wrinkled his nose "I don't like Sushi" he grumbled to Elizabeth.
"I know John, I bought you Chinese food" Elizabeth smiled handing him a small bag.
John smiled "Thanks Liz".
"So how long have you to been friends?" Ronon asks.
Elizabeth smiles widely "John and I met on the first day of high school and we were inseparable".
"Yeah I punched your brother" John snickered "He was such an ass".
Elizabeth rolled her eyes "He asked you if we were sleeping together".
"Yes and I told him it was none of his business" John retorted with a grin.
Liz groaned "You could have just told him the truth and said no we weren't because we were just friends; but no you had to antagonise him" she snorts "And he punched you in the face".
"I was so sore for weeks after that" John grimaced remembering his broken nose.
Ronon chuckled "Sounds like you were good friends".
"Yes we were; we were so close back then" Liz smiled sadly "I like to think we're getting back to that closeness again".
John smiled "Yeah it's been a long time since then".
The room went quiet for a while; until Elizabeth's intercom went off, strolling over to her desk Elizabeth sighed "Radek? I asked you to hold my call's".
"I'm sorry Miss Weir but it's a very important call; the one you've been waiting on" Zalenka sounded very serious.
Elizabeth's face turned serious "I'm going to take this call in your office Ronon; I'll be right back".
John watched his friend go with a slightly confused look; a shifting sound brought his attention back to Ronon who is now sitting next to him; eyes widening he caught onto what Ronon was about to do. The taller man leant over John and pressed his lips against the other man; falling back entangled the pair's hands fell into each other.
"Ronon" John gasped "We should stop" another soft gasp "Liz will be back any minute".
The taller man smiled softly as he planted one last kiss on his lips "Okay" he murmured softly sitting himself back up.
Just as the pair had righted them-selves Elizabeth walked back through the door "Sorry about that guys" she planted herself back on the couch next to John and grinned "John are you okay?" she asked softly.
John chuckled nervously and nodded; Ronon smiled to himself at the cute look on the other mans face.
Okay so next chapter! GASP! What? Already! Yes I know I'm terrible at updating on time but I have to admit I'm really back into this story so expect lots of new chapters for this one.
