*Chapter 10- Story Time Part 1- Normal P.O.V.*
"Tell me who I am!" Anastasia cried as General Winter disappeared from sight. After he left the snow was calm once again. Ivan brought her inside the main building to get warm...
Once they were settled with Ivan putting a blanket around the girl and China helping warm her with some Chai tea with a little milk. Anya smiled trying the new beverage commenting how good it taste. China brightly offered, "I shall make more once you're finished with that cup!" Being around Russia, you pick bits and phrases from the language. Already had China wrapped around her little finger.
Someone who looked like America with a polar bear... Oh, it was Canada Ivan figured out, walked up to Anya and said, "You had everybody worried about you eh." Patting her on her head.
Speaking of the said American, "Dude! Don't be so hard on her Broski. Ukraine said she was just seeing if it was just somebody she probably knew."
Ivan looked at Alfred with a raised eyebrow. "And what if it was a stranger that would take advantage of her? What then?" Alfred glared back muttering how he had a point. "So, a light scolding is the right way to go." Anya flinched knowing she was the one in the spotlight. She may not understand much English, but she certainly knew when she was in trouble.
She did her best goo goo eyes at the nations, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry everyone." Everyone seemed to cave in except Russia who continued to glare, but softened.
"I am immune to cuteness Anya. You're still going to be grounded." He kept his tone light with his eyes closed adding the fact she wasn't forgiven yet. Ivan pat her on the head as she gave an annoyed huff at her hair being messed with.
Surprisingly, it was Italy who spoke up for the girl, "Aw~ Russia don't be mad. Afterall, she's too pretty to stay mad at for long.~"
Said man raised an eyebrow, "Me? Angry? What would make you think that?" His purple aura seeming to seep out of him. Until he felt Anya hug him. He blinked at the sudden affection.
"I really am sorry. I know I should have waited for Aunt Katya." Anya as she rubbed her head adorably against his chest. She let him go and went to apologize to Ukraine too. Ended up almost getting suffocated by her large breasts as Ukraine squeezed her into her embrace squealing, "You're sooo cuuuute!" The young girl blushing giving a hug and trying to get away at the same time. Ivan sighed 'She's too adorable for her own good. I'm going to have to watch what I let her get away with.'
America laughed at the scene. "Watch out Russia! She's totally going to have you eating out of the palm of her hand in no time." He winked at him irritating the Russian as that it was his favorite thing to do.
Things lightened up around the place and they found it to be around 5PM by the time they were all finished. Anya tired herself from her little adventure and fell asleep through the last half of the meeting comfortably napping away in Ivans lap. Ivan didn't want to wake her, so he just carried her quietly saying his goodbyes and glaring at the ones who dared tried to make a loud sound. Katyusha following shortly with... uh oh... Belarus... Also known as Natalia. She hardly had to attend meetings, but she came usually only to ask Russia to "become one" with her. This time she was calmer walking with her older sister. They were quietly chatting as they reached the pair by the car. Ivan's car was parked inside a privately owned garage, so it didn't freeze or have snow cover it from wheels to hood. (He's the Nation Representative what he wants he gets. Enough said.)
Natalia stepped up to Ivan as he flinched, but smiled. "Hello Natalia. Have you been well?"
"Yes." She answered in her smooth voice that would win over Lithuania no matter how mean she was to him. "Do you need any of my help with the girl?" Natalia may have loved her brother a little too much, but she was always good with kids. Less of a threat than females who were full grown and country representatives. Except for her sister Ukraine. She loved her too. Her social circle could only extend so far.
Ivan smiled, "No thank you Sister. But, thank you for offering." Natalia nodded accepting his answer for she knew Ivan always had a thing for doing things on his own. "Would you like to join us for dinner?" He offered not wanting Natalia to feel left out.
She smiled which made her more pretty than usual. "Yes, that would be lovely." She gracefully left to her car to follow close behind.
Anya who woke up from the movement waiting in the back seat of Ivan's car poked her head near the front seat commented, "Both your sister's are very pretty." Ukraine kindly thanked her as Ivan smiled as he got the car started to get on the go.
~Home*A Few Hours Later~
Dinner had been calm for the most part with no "Become one with me Brother" from Belarus. A Miracle! Natalia had gone back to her country for business to take care of as Anya, Ivan, and Katyusha settles in the living room. It was hard wood with russian designed carpet that was old, but well taken care of. A fire place against the west side wall with a windows on both side making the sunset shine in along with the fire to light the room with it's warm glow."Don't forget you promised to tell me the story!" Anya hopped onto the living room floor grabbing a pillow from the nearby couch to lie down in front of the chair that Ivan sat in. Katyusha sat on the couch across from them knitting while listening to the warm commotion around her. She sighed, 'I've missed this family atmosphere...' Not having felt it for quite a long time.
Ivan chuckled at her impatience, "Oh? And what story would that be again?" Messing with her.
"The one about the Princess that has the same birthday!" Anya pouted.
Ivan looked at her and said, "Ah.~ Yes, Princess Anastasia."
'She even has the same as me.' Anya thought. "That's the same name as me as well." Thinking how General Winter helped bring back a little bit of her memory.
"Anya is a common nickname for Anastasia." Ivan explained. Seeing the eager child to hear her story he thought about where to start. It was always Katyusha who told the stories not him, but for Anya he'll try his best. Well, to make things more simple might as well start with where life begins. The birth. To make it seem more like a fairytale he started with "Once upon a time...
"In the time of Imperial Russia there was a royal family known as the Romanovs. The Tsar and his Queen were trying to give birth to an heir to the throne. As in most kingdoms it had to be a man to inherit the throne and unless something happened to the King, the throne would fall to his Queen. You see, the Tsar Nikolas II and his Wife Alexandra had three daughters already, but no boy to speak of. Olga, Tatiana, and Maria were the three sisters names. They were the grand duchesses to be born first. Grand Duchess Anastasia was born in the Peterhof Palace in St. Petersburg July 1st 1901. The Tsar was very dissapointed with her birth, but he loved his daughter all the same. He named her Anastasia, "The breaker of chains", for the reason of wanting good luck in trying one last time to have a son to carry on the throne..."
Interrupting Ivan's tale Anya raised her hand to ask, "Does it really have to be a boy? What would've happened if it was just girls?"
Ivan being patient with her answered her question. It was quite refreshing answering something easy. "Yes, for men have to protect the woman from danger inside and outside a home. As for the Tsar if he had only daughters, then it would be up to the eldest daughter to take over the throne once she is married. Her husband with her guidance would rule the lands as Tsar. But, some exceptions are made like for when the Queen rules in time when the Tsar is sick or unable to take care of the kingdom."
"Oh... Okay. But, shouldn't the kingdom go to someone who saves the princess and fights off the bad guys?" Such an innocent, yet good question. She continued, "Like you Mr. Ivan! In my dream when you were a prince." Anya smiled with a slight blush.
Ivan chuckled feeling flattered, "Thank you, but unfortunately the Russian Empire mainly consisted of family members inheriting the throne. Now, do you want to hear the rest of the story or not?"
She stood from her spot not wanting to end the story so quickly. "Da! Please, I want to hear! Please, Please, Please!"
He playfully looked away, "Nyet~ I don't think you do."
Katyusha laughed at the scene before her as she saw Anya climb into Ivan's lap and hug attack him into submission and give her more of the story.
Ivan laughed at her antics, "Okay. Okay. I'll continue."
To be continued in Chapter 11~
