11.23.16: UPDATE: THERE ARE 2 CHAPTERS AFTER THIS, TITLED CHAPTER 9.1 AND 9.2 SO PLEASE LOOK THROUGH THE CHAPTER LIST TO FIND THEM AFTER READING THIS CHAPTER BEFORE CONTINUING TO CHAPTER 10 BECAUSE THEY ARE FILL-IN'S FOR ANY MISSING PLOT HOLES.
Also, this chapter is dedicated to We're-all-mad-herex13 because I've finally a friend, and who cares if I met you online and we live like across the world from each other, but I've found someone who wants to be my friend! Checck out her story too, I would like insert the link here, but I think fanfiction takes out the link so I'm not gonna bother and try. Love her though! :)
Disclaimer: I wish I owned the new book Stephanie Meyers released. I'm just praying it's at the library waiting for me. :(
Chapter 9
Maddie's P.O.V.
I pushed myself to move faster, and I had no clue why. I mean if any of the wolves had followed me, they would have caught up long ago. I finally stopped when I broke through the clearing of trees to find a small, isolated meadow with a small pond running through it that led to a waterfall. It was beautiful. I walked towards the middle of the clearing before lying down on the grass. I was on my back, looking up to the sky that was slowly getting darker, letting me know that it was late.
I sighed and wondered, why me? Why did I have to be the one with these problems? First an abusive dad and now finding someone who is supposedly my soulmate who isn't sure if he cares about me or not. I'm not sure which is worst and I oh so wished the former, but alas it isn't. What hurt the most was that Jacob knew about the imprint yet still chose to persue after Bella and not tell me about it. I wasn't even sure what to do. Do I keep living my life as if it didn't exist until Jacob comes running back to me because Bella was not a choice anymore, or do I not even bother with trying to defuse the problem.
I was so conflicted that I didn't hear anyone come up to me until I felt something soft and warm lie down next to me. Or should I say two someones. I grinned when the two both whined at me for attention and ran my hand through their fur.
"How are you two- Wait a minute, are you even supposed to be out here?"
They both made another noise between a whine and a playful bark which I cooed at. "Can you shift back, I want to talk to you and get actual responses. Although I do enjoy the effort of you puppies trying."
The two both ran behind separate bushes before coming back out again, but this time as humans. I gestured for them to sit down next to me to which they complied. "Can I get names or am I going to have to refer to you guys as puppy number one and puppy number two?"
One shook his head widly while the other made a face. I just laughed and pinched the one making the face to which he puffed at, yet made no comment. "I'm Colin and that's Brady you're pinching."
"Well I'm Maddie, if you guys didn't catch my name."
"We know! We also know you're Paul's younger sister and Jacob's imprint." I winced at the last part of the statement.
"Unfortunately." I muttered. The two looked at me curiously, but didn't push on the subject.
"Anyways, tell me about yourselves."
I threw my head back as the wind rushed past us as Colin ran. Brady was to the right of me, panting happily. I laughed, feeling carefree and happy for once, as Colin picked up his pace with Brady right beside them before we arrived back at Paul's house. It was probably 3 in the morning and Paul was most likely worrying his ass off about me, and for once, I didn't care. I didn't care. And it's not that I didn't care about Paul, it's because I didn't care if Jacob cared about me. For once I wasn't worried about the future. I knew I would have to face my problems one day, but today wasn't the day. And I had two pups who loved me unconditionally, that was the best feeling ever. Being loved for who I was.
A/N: Hey Guys! *WAVES ARMS AROUND DRAMATICALLY BEFORE HITTING MYSELF IN THE FACE* I feel so proud of myself for that. Chapter 9 at . . . 10 at night, not so sure about updating at night, but whatever. So . . . question: Would you guys follow me if I made an Instagram account for this account? B/C I already have a personal account, but hell no am I connecting my online life to my sucky real life. Anyways, on with the chapter end note. What do you guys think? I didn't want the clique character of like Maddie trying to get Jacob to accept her or the other ending of Maddie trying to break the imprint. I wanted to try something different, so don't hate me. And sorry for the skip in updates, but I'll have a chapter up tomorrow too since this one is supposed to be last week's chapter. If you want reasons, here are some: My Bio teacher who can't teach for life, volleyball practice, a buttload of homework, exhaustion, my second account on this site plus my wattpad account b/c I never update on either, and procastination b/c whenever I have free time I'm just reading AR fanfic b/c I'm still very obsessed with the series and b/c I always feel too tired to write so I didn't want a filler chapter because they just take up space and brain cells.
Also thanks to We're-all-mad-herex13: I always love your reviews, you're always honest and you also want to talk to me so you're pretty much at the top of my list, and at the top of this chapter *wink* even though this wasn't a big chapter, or anything related to you, but I wanted to do something so, yeah. Unless you call a character transformation somthing big, then I guess. But you're cool. ;)
I guess that's all, but please do answer the question up there just go back -this-way- to find the question because I don't want to make an account that no one foolows. I'm not going to spam btw. If you know me in real life I only have ever posted two things on my account, so don't say no b/c you think I'll spam. What I'll do with the account is just post sneak peeks, pictures of characters or objects in the story, and maybe something life-quote-like just because I love those. So if enough people say yes then I'll let you know when/if that happens, or I might be persuaded enough to do so.
Review! Till Next Time! :)
ALSO REMEMBER TO LOOK FOR CHAPTER 9.1 AND 9.2 BEFORE READING CHAPTER 10 BY SCROLLING THROUGH THE CHAPTER LIST.
