Chapter 6
"Silver!" Tabby yelled as she burst onto the deck. What was in front of her terrified her, a boy with a red hoody was holding a dagger to Silver's neck.
"Well hello there!" the boy said casually. "I'm looking for my good friend Gryfin!" the boy explained dropping Silver. "Any idea where I might find him?" the boy asked. Tabby weakly pointed a finger down stairs. When the boy passed her she ran straight to Silver, who was worse for wear. He had a deep cut above his eye and a long shallow cut down his arm.
"The boy, 0, I think he said his name was, he just jumped up here like it was no big deal," Silver explained weakly. "He challenged me to a fight and well this happened," Silver said pointing to his own face. A moment later there was yelling and screaming from down stairs. 0 flew up the stairs followed by Gryfin and a girl who looked to be about 20. When Tabby got a clear look at Gryfin she could see cuts all over his body. The girl looked unscathed, but unusually pale. She was letting loose arrows faster than could be followed, yet somehow 0 was dodging them all. As he focused on the arrows, Gryfin snuck up behind him. After he had gotten close enough, he charged 0 over the edge of the ship which, at the moment, was over a giant sea. 0 plummeted into the murky depths, screaming curses at them the entire way. The recruits who had surfaced to watch erupted in a roar of cheers. Gryfin turned towards them and the recruits stopped. They began screaming "Rapist!" and other things words. The pale girl stepped forward.
"Please everyone! Calms down!" she yelled causing silence. "He didn't do anything to me, ok? He actually paid for the room for the night, as well as bought me a meal, so please leave him alone!" she exclaimed. The crowed just dispersed and went on with their duties.
"That was easy," Gryfin and the girl said in unison.
"Hey I never did catch your name," Gryfin said to the girl.
"Obscure is the name," the girl said. "I'm sixteen years old and part skeleton," she said to Gryfin. When she noticed the others she blushed and hid behind Gryfin.
"Well then team let's see what we can find around this golden ship of go-" Tabby cut him off.
"If you're going to live here let's get one thing straight, gold is budder, ka-peesh?" Tabby said getting in Gryfin's face.
"Yes ma'am," Gryfin said doing a salute.
"Good soldier," Tabby said playing along. "Now let's find a job on the job board!" Tabby said marching off like a solider marching, her friends following close behind
"Keep an eye on them Susan," the man with sunglasses said.
"Yes Commander," the girl named Susan said tailing the group that had walked towards the job board.
