Me, myself and I POV
We passed a river that had a bridge built over it and Naruto explained to me that was the 'Great Naruto Bridge'. We checked the name, but it was just some lame old guy's name… *coughGatocough*. We continued on, down the river until it widened to the ocean. Then Tazuna detected us through the Port to her house, where her granddaughter was waiting.
"Tazuna, are these the ones who are protecting you?" the very same girl the man Tazuna had asked politely. Tazuna nodded and proceeded to explain that now it was an A-rank.
"Just as a reminder, if you're going outside, call us to escort you." Kakashi sensei reminded her once we had dinner. She humped and beckoned me over.
"I need to go to the markets and sell some more stuff from the Advanced Ships. Good thing your sensei warned me." Tazuna explained, picking up some items. I saw a battery, compass and about a billion other small things I could maybe never name. I saw that Tazuna had a hard time choosing out from the pile of crap so I made two clones. Tazuna piled more crap on them and then we left. As we walked, Tazuna pointed out the good shops and some gossip interests, which I have already forgotten.
Finally we came to an empty stall and Tazuna dumped her stuff on the desk.
"Put your clones on guard on the junk; I have lost so much without guarding them." Tazuna explained as she disappeared under the table, then reappeared with a box. She opened it and pulled out some flags and a poster. I helped her put up the flags and as soon as we were done, people began to swam us, and my clones had a hard time putting everything in order.
Once everyone was nicely lined up into two lines, we began to sell the crap.
"Whoa, that's a lot of money." Tazuna commented.
"Yeah, it is." I lied. There was 20 small coins and three larger coins.
"So, we going back?" I asked, dispelling the clones. Nodding, she shoved the little money into my hands and told me to protect it. Then we continued back to her house. I had never seen a third rated country, and I wish I never have to again. Back in my town, I knew a homeless guy that lived on a doorstep. Here, people lined the streets, all homeless and begging for money. Oh, how I felt like giving them out. Tazuna stopped at one homeless person and beckoned me over. I held out my hands and she picked out the three lager coins. She gave the three coins to three people each and gave them words of advice. Then we continued, passing almost an unlimited line of beggars.
Poor, poor people.
"I just feel so sad for them. I only knew one homeless guy, and he had a sleeping bag, some books and a little more money. But this is much worse." I spilled to Tazuna.
"That must be a wonderful place then. No matter how much money I give out, the numbers just increase. It's so saddening." Tazuna sighed and we became depressed together. Once back in her house, I explained where and what happened when we were out and how much homeless people there were. What shocked me the most was Naruto's thoughtless comment.
"I remember living like that, except that every night a mob would try to kill me. I remember when a cold meal was a very big deal. I hadn't had a hot meal in years." he said, lost in thought. Sakura began to cry and hugged him saying she would try not to be mean (good luck) and she'll be nice to any homeless people she would ever meet.
Three days later, when Rukia and I were guarding Tazuna as she directed ships around the bay, a kunai was thrown at Tazuna. I flicked my own kunai to block it and they hit with a loud clang! Tazuna was on her toes, and Rukia made a shadow clone. The shadow clone leaped away from the new fight, running to Kakashi sensei to warn him. Everyone around us fled for their lives, while we fought with the unknown ninja. When one of us got tired, the other took over, before the kunai came from the other side. Yet another hail of kunai from a different angel came out, and I saved Tazuna by making a shadow clone. Rukia and I wisely didn't call out "Show yourself!" Since appearance could distract one for a few seconds, enough to kill. A glimmer of brown almost caught my attention, but I kept my eyes on the kunais. Finally the kunais stopped, but after a few seconds of dead silence, one huge windmill sherukin came flying out of the darkness. I jumped in front of Tazuna, and somehow put my arm into the hole and swung it around back to the darkness.
Silence.
The 'thunk' of the sherukin hitting anything didn't come. Nothing came back either.
"Is it over?" Tazuna whispered. I noticed that she had covered her eyes.
"No. Don't speak." I ordered. We stayed tensed until over an hour passed. Then Kakashi appeared with his head band up.
"No one's around." He nodded to us and we relaxed.
"Why did you stay still for an hour?" Tazuna asked, when we began to pack up. It was no point continuing her job now, since everyone was scared off.
"In case they were still there. Most ninjas die from relaxing before time." I explained. She nodded understandingly.
"If I was young again, I would defiantly become a ninja." She sighed. "I would get rid of the blasted 'No Bloodline' in Mist; I had to run away from there since someone thought I had a bloodline…"
"Ouch." I commented as I balanced on a sticking up poles, jumping from one to another.
"Yeah, totally."
