(A/N: Yay! New chapter! Hope you all enjoy!)
Minato loomed down behind her and asked,"Naruto, are you okay?"
Once Naruto turned around, Minato had confirmed his suspicions—she was a Jinchuuriki. He sucked in his breath as he saw the now-turned crimson and feral eyes; her slitted pupils were visibly frightening. However, Naruto's eyes wasn't what caught his attention—it was her tears. Minato quickly wiped the wet blotches.
In Naruto's mind, she was screaming at the top of her lungs to stop from getting out of control in front of Minato. Outside, she growled quietly to Minato who was still wiping her tears away. She heard him say,"You know Naru, occasionally, it's okay to let it go and scream at the top of you lungs. Even though you seem like the type to never ever cry—especially with your crazy and cocky behavior," he coughed at the side note and smiled that smile that melted Naruto's heart,"we're still human."
The word 'human' rang in Naruto's ears loud and clear. Minato didn't see the sudden color change in her eyes as he was still talking,"Well, you know, sometimes at home, I cry to myself when I eat the food I make to myself. Like take an example from this morning. Wile you were still sleeping, I made my own food. And then, when I ate it, I cried-" he stopped speaking when he saw Naruto's smile.
Her now-turned blue eyes were shining as they were complimented by her gentle smile. He blushed a bit and looked down. And then, out of nowhere, he was tackled by Naruto. Her embrace was warm, causing Minato to unconsciously hug her back. Minato was still sitting upwards during these turn of events.
At the realization, Naruto hid her face on the crook of his neck to hide her embarrassment. Thinking about the bold move she had just made, Naruto's blush became an even more darker shade of crimson. Then, she noticed Minato's shift in embrace and couldn't help but stutter her breath.
Minato on the other hand was grinning from ear to ear. He hugged Naruto's waist even tighter than before. He heard her stutter, making his grin grow. Minato loosened his arms when he felt Naruto move. Her blushing face was now facing his. She started,"Ummm, Minato."
He smiled like before,"Yeah?"
Naruto let out a sigh,"I just wanted to confirm something."
Minato now held a serious face,"Confirm what?"
"Why don't we sit on those benches?"
As much as Minato didn't want to let go of Naruto, he still needed to know about what she was going to say. He nodded and helped her up. Once they sat down, Minato closed in more closer to her than usual. Naruto had finally extinguished her blush by taking deep, calm breaths,"I'm pretty sure you know by now, Minato."
Minato looked her in the eyes,"About you being a jinchuuriki?" He told her bluntly.
Naruto shivered when he said 'jinchuuriki'; she nodded. Minato ran his hand through his blond locks as he spoke up,"I've had my suspicions after I heard of your memories while you were training with the wooden dogs. It turns out that the wooden dog statues were Wooden Foo Dogs, in which are used to suppress Bijuu chakra. At that realization, I suspected you to be a Jinchuuriki."
Naruto frowned, which changed when she finally remembered the memory more clearly,"Oh, yes. I remember now." She looked down on Konoha's beauty as the sun was growing lower towards the horizon. "How... long did you did you know?"
"I guess for about two-and-a-half weeks." A nod came from Naruto. Then, Minato hesitantly said,"We're you... lying when you said that you didn't remember anything?"
Naruto shook her head rapidly,"No, no, no! Well, kinda."
Minato's heart sank. She continued to explain,"From until now, I wasn't lying to you when I said I had amnesia. I actually did have amnesia. I still don't know smore huge chunks of my past. The only part where I lied to you was when I told you I didn't get any memories. That was because... I just didn't want to tell you those memories 'cause they were... I guess, uncertain to me."
His eyes softened when she told him this. He closed his eyes and thought to himself,'At least all the memories we made together were all real...' When he opened his cerulean eyes, the expression on Naruto's face was what she had described her memories to be—uncertain.
Naruto knitted her eyebrows together,"Ne, Minato, so you won't think differently about me?"
Minato reassured her as he nodded his head,"No, I won't. You're still Naruto."
She tipped her head to the side,"Then why were you so angry this whole day? I had suspected that you found out that I held a bijuu inside of me and started to think of me as something else."
Naruto widened her eyes when Minato held her hand on the bench,"No, it's nothing. I was just cranky today." He left out the mission details the Sandaime ordered him. He turned to her,"And you just made me more cranky."
It was Naruto's turn to turn her head to him,"What?"
Minato laughed loud enough for all of Konoha to hear,"No, it's nothing."
Naruto glared at him,"Hey! It's not fair! I'm confessing all my truths to you while you can't tell me something so simple! C'mon Minato! Stop acting like a bully, dattebayo!"
"Bully? I haven't heard that word since I graduated the Academy. What are you? Ten?" Minato teased. The sudden mood change in Naruto made Minato smile because he saw that the Naruto he knew was back.
Naruto growled,"I'll destroy your whole being!" Then, her angry face turned back into her begging face,"C'mon, Minato. You can tell me anything, right?" Then, her face darkened,"Or else I won't cook for you anymore."
A fearful and disbelieving look crossed Minato's face. He sighed,"It's not that simple, you know?" He breathed out,"And by the way, I always tell you my deepest darkest secrets."
Naruto smiled to him as she ignored his later proclamation. She sat in a comfortable position,"I'm all ears."
"Fine, since there is no possible way out of this." In all actuality, he could just Hirashin out of there and to his house... but a little part inside of him wanted to tell Naruto. He hesitated,"Remember when you came back from grocery shopping with Inoichi?" Naruto nodded from the memory. Minato continued,"I got really... jealous."
Naruto's face became confused,"Why?" She breathed out.
By now, Minato had an uneasy look on his face,"Well, I guess I assumed that you guys were going to go on a date next Monday? I don't know, something stupid like that. But anyway, when you came home, you were acting all happy-go-lucky."
"Next Monday?... Oh! Next Monday!" She started to laugh. Minato had a frown etched on his face. Naruto wiped a small tear forming from her left eye. "Minato," she caught his attention,"Inoichi had asked me if I could come work in his shop."
He gave her a sheepish look and scratched the back of his neck,"Re-really?"
Naruto resumed her laugher and told him,"A date? I've never even been on a proper date before—well, not that I've remembered! And anyways, why start now?" Minato looked at her with a gaped mouth. Naruto glared at him,"Humph, just cause I haven't been all over town doesn't mean I'll stay single forever." She nodded to her explanation.
Minato's response was greatly muffled, contradicting Naruto's past sentence,"Then why not start now?"
Naruto frowned,"What did you say, dattebayo?"
Minato shook his head when a light blush appeared on his cheeks,'Calm yourself, Minato.' He told himself. He told her out loud,"I didn't say anything, Naru."
Naruto stopped in her tracks when she head his nickname for her once again. She smiled at him, causing Minato to looked confused. "Is something the matter, Naru?"
Her smile grew when she heard her name again,"No, nothing's wrong. It's just that your calling me Naru again."
"What? Haven't I always called you that?"
Naruto shook her head,"No. Not till earlier you weren't." A remembered look crossed Minato's face. Naruto continued to talk before he had the chance to,"That may have been the biggest blown. I don't know, but when you called me 'Naruto', I just felt as if you didn't want to know me anymore. That's probably why I ran here."
Minato knitted his brows together,"Look Naru, I'm so-"
Naruto waved him off,"Naw, it's okay. I'm just happy I could talk to you freely again, dattebayo." Minato mentally sighed in relief when he heard her favorite catchphrase.
That small part of him was buzzing and getting out of control. Minato felt like screaming out to the world about his feelings for Naruto, which had grown every single day without him knowing. "Wait, can I tell you something?" Minato asked hesitantly. Naruto looked at him to continue,"I don't know how to say this, but... continuing on with me being jealous of Inoichi, I feel like I want to know more and more about you every single day."
Minato adverted his eyes from Naruto's for a second,"I don't care who or what you are labeled, Naru. I want to be with you and I truly think that I love-" with only just one glance to her innocent eyes, Minato just couldn't do it,"the way you cook." Inwards, Minato cursed to himself as he was so close to the edge.
Naruto frowned to him,"Minato, what are you trying to say to me?" For some reason, Naruto wasn't looking for the answer Minato had just given her.
An awkward silence elapsed to both of them. Minato was the one to break the silence,"Hey Naru? You wanna come back home? I really feel like soup tonight." He then added,"I can even help you in the kit-"
Naruto shook her head rapidly for the sake of her health,"No!" There was a startled look on Minato's face. Naruto sighed,"Look Minato. I'll just say it bluntly—you suck at cooking."
Minato bit his lip before agreeing with her,"Yeah, I guess your right."
Naruto sighed in relief. "Okay, before you volunteered to help me cook," she breathed in,"I was also thinking about soup. Maybe chicken noodle soup?"
"Yeah, that would be great." Minato looked up at the sunset. Minato smelled the fresh air,'This will be enough for now.'
While they walked down the set of stairs provided by the monument, Naruto looked at Minato's back longingly.
