Chapter 10

The next day I waited for Hiccup to come and visit me, but the hours dragged on and I couldn't help but worry if something had happened. I walked around the lake and settled down and tried to get myself to take a nap. But I heard something that made my ears perk and my heart miss a beat.

It was Hiccup's scream, he was in trouble , I had to get to him. But without him in the saddle, I couldn't fly. But I wasn't about to let that stop me, I wasn't going to let my brother die again. I kept clawing at the walls of the cove and climbing until I got a hold on the ledge and pulled myself out. I then took off running as fast as my legs could carry me.

"Hiccup, you better be alive when I get there, or there will be hell to pay for the one who hurt you." I thought as I ran faster and faster through the forest.

I ran to the edge of the forest and saw where he was, in some sort of arena pinned under the claws of a Monstrous Nightmare. I dive in, blasting the bars and chains that formed the roof. I dove in onto the Monstrous Nightmare's back and pulled him off of my brother and wrestled him away. He pinned me and tried to bite my underbelly, but I was faster and managed to twist his head and kick him away from us.

"What do you think you're doing?" he shrieked at me.

"I'm protecting my brother!" I yelled at him standing in front of my brother protecting him from anything that the dragon in front of me might try.

"He's human, how could he possibly be your brother!"

"You would never understand, but if you hurt him, I'll kill!" I yelled making the Monstrous Nightmare back off.

I turned my head to see if Hiccup was okay, and came running up to me. "Alright Toothless, go get out of here." He pleaded pushing me.

But I wasn't going anywhere, not with all these other people who could still hurt him. Suddenly, one of them came charging at us. I knocked the other humans away, and pounced on the big one that charged me. I was about to make an example of this one when I heard Hiccup scream at me.

"No!" I stopped the flow of gases into my mouth and looked at him. Why did he stop me? In one moment, two things happened at once. I realized their scents were very similar, which meant that the human beneath me was Hiccup's father. And suddenly I was pulled off him and pinned beneath more humans.

I couldn't move and I could hear Hiccup pleading with them not to hurt me. I glared at Hiccup's father.

"If you do anything to hurt him, I will kill you." I growled.

"Put it with the others." He spat venomously. He then grabbed Hiccup's arm and dragged him away as the humans holding me dragged me into a cage.

I fought back as hard as I could. I had to get to Hiccup, he needed me. But the humans chained me down and closed the doors. I pulled at the chains screaming for them to let me go, that Hiccup needed me. But no one came to let me go.

After what felt like forever, the doors were opened again and this time I dragged onto some sort of rack and collared so that I could get out. I was then muzzled so I couldn't use my fire. I was then loaded onto a ship and Hiccup's father stood beside me.

"Lead us home, devil." He spat venomously to me.

I could only stare at him with anger burning me from the inside out. Hours passed and we made it to the fogs that kept our nest out of sight. I figured out what they needed me for, the planned to us me as a guide to find the nest. They had no idea what they were in for. If they found the nest and He saw them, not one of them was going to make it home alive.

There was nothing I could do. My ears started twitching again and this time there was no fighting it, my head kept pointing where I had to go and the humans steered the ship where I pointed. When we made it to the island, I tried to warn them that they had to get out of here or they were all going to die. But not one of them understood me. All I could do was sit there trapped in my bonds, helpless to save them.
