So…I know I've been really, really bad at this updating thing. After I got a job after moving, I didn't take the time to write any fanfiction. Therefore, there were no updates. Anyway, I have some chapters written out and am *hopefully* going to be updating more often. Sorry for those who have been following this story for the delays.
Disclaimer: I do not own Inu Yasha or any of the characters that Rumiko Takahashi created/owns. All other characters, however, are mine.

Kagome's mother held onto her son as he tried to run after Kagome. "No! She's innocent! Kagome is-"
"Enough, Souta Higurashi. It is bad enough that your sister has fallen for a demon, but for you to further shame your family by not knowing your place…how pathetic," Captain Shigehira sneered. He then turned his attention to the woman inside of the jail cell carriage. "Make sure that the woman and the jewel are locked up tight. We can't have either leaving to go to the hands of demons," he commanded his men.
Souta finally broke free from his mother's grasp and ran to the carriage and clenched the bars that held the woman within. "I'll find a way to get you out from behind these bars. I swear this to you, Kagome."
Kagome gave a fond, yet sad smile to Souta. Gently, she touched his hands and then pried them off of the bars. "Thank you, Souta…but please, I ask you to take care of Mama and Grandfather. Please, that is all I ask of you."
"Enough! We head out now!" Shigehira ordered.
Whipping his childish gaze to Shigehira, Souta grit his teeth as his sister was carted out of the village. 'You will come to regret caging my sister, Shigehira,' Souta thought determinedly, completely unaware of the golden eyes witnessing the events.
