Chapter Ten: I'll Protect You
"No don't please. I'm sorry." Courtney cried in her sleep. Roman was watching her from his chair in the corner. He couldn't believe she killed someone again. He just wishes this will all be done with so he can take her away and never look back.
"Stop. Stop. Don't." She screamed. Roman got up fast and shook her body. Dean, Nikki and Seth ran inside when they heard Courtney screaming.
"Baby, baby, wake up." He said. Courtney gasp for air and look around her. She saw everyone standing there and then look at Roman. Courtney started crying and Roman held her in his arms.
"I didn't want to kill him." she cried.
"I know you didn't."
"It's just that he was going to kill Nikki. I had to do something."
"You saved my life." Nikki said.
"Well I consider you my best friend." Courtney said. Nikki tear up and hug Courtney
"I never had a best friend before." Nikki said, making Courtney smiled.
"We'll let you girls talk." Roman said
"Roman." Courtney said, getting up and then kissing him. Dean rolled his eyes, while Nikki and Seth smiled. They pulled away from the kiss and Courtney smiled.
"Don't be too long. I have plans for us later." she said. Roman eyes widen and he groaned.
"Can't they wait." He said, making Courtney giggle.
"Go big guy, I'll be here when you get back." she said. Roman look at Seth and Dean.
"Let's get down to business so I can get back to my women." he said, walking out of the room with Dean and Seth. Once the boys left, Nikki turn to Courtney and smiled.
"So I wanted to ask you a favor." Nikki said
"Of course."
"I was wondering if you would be my maid of honor." she said, holding up her hand and showing her ring.
"Oh my god." Courtney said, "When did he ask you to marry you."
"Tonight when we got back from the mall. I love him so much. If I would have died tonight, Seth would have been torn."
"But you didn't die."
"No and I have you to thank."
"You don't have to thank me Nikki."
"Yes I do. You were very brave."
"I keep having these nightmares."
"Of Glenn and Daniel."
"Them and of Roman."
"Roman?" Nikki asked
"We get caught by Hunter. He kills Roman in front of me." Courtney cried
"Oh honey." Nikki said and hug her.
"He can't die on me Nikki."
"Your in love with him." She said and Courtney pulled away.
"What? I don't love Roman." Courtney asked
"Come on Courtney, your not fooling me. I can see it in your eyes you do." she said.
"No your crazy Nikki." Courtney said, "I'll be right back." she said and headed inside the bathroom. She splash some water on her face and look in the mirror.
"Is she right? Do I love Roman." she said to herself.
The boys gather downstairs and tried to come up with a plan to take down Hunter.
"Hunter is pissed off and he's coming for us so we have to be ready." Roman said
"Glenn, Daniel, Randy and Vince all killed, I'd say he's pretty pissed." Seth said
"We need to figure out something, in order to bring him down." Dean said
"But what though. We don't know where he is." Seth said
"I have an idea." Roman said
"What is it." Dean asked
"I turn myself in." He said
"What?" Seth and Dean said
"It's the only way. Plus it will keep Courtney safe."
"No it won't man, cause Hunter is coming for her as well, and you know it."
"Dean is right. Once he finishes you off, he'll come for her."
"No he won't. I know you two and Nikki will protect her for me."
"Are you crazy." Dean said
"I think he is." Courtney said. The guys turned around and look at Courtney and Nikki standing there, "I want to talk to you Roman."
"Courtney now isn't the time."
"Now Roman." Courtney shouted, walking back upstairs.
"You're dead man." Dean said and laugh. Roman smack the back of Dean head and followed Courtney.
"So what you girls talk about?" Seth asked Nikki
"I told her were engaged."
"What? I thought you were going to wait." Dean said
"I couldn't wait." Seth said and kissed Nikki. Dean made a gag noise and left the room. Upstairs, Roman close the door behind him.
"Knock the door." Courtney said. Roman frown and did what she ask, "What the hell is wrong with you? How can you be so stupid Roman. Offering to give yourself up to Hunter."
"I take it you heard everything."
"Yes I heard everything. Why would you do this."
"It's to protect you."
"By getting yourself killed."
"What else is there to do. He wants us dead."
"Then you fight back and protect me. Please don't turn yourself in." she said. Roman walk towards her and touch her face.
"I love you." he said and she look up at him with wide eyes.
"What?" she asked
"I said I love you. After Brie died, I never thought I'd love again." he said. Courtney started to tear up. She couldn't believe what he was saying.
"Then one day I was kidnapping this beautiful girl and she just took my breath away." he said and she laugh.
"Who would have thought me and my kidnapper would fall in love." she said, wiping her tears away.
"I thought you were going to fall in love with Dean actually." he said and Courtney made a face.
"Thank god I didn't." she said and laugh, "I love you." she said
"And I love you." he said and kiss her, "Now let's make us both happy and fuck."
"Such a gentleman." she said and laugh, as Roman carried her over to the bed.
"Well please let this gentleman devour your sexy body." He said and kissed her neck.
"I had plans for us." she said
"Those plans can wait." he said, ripping off her top.
"Hey that was my favorite shirt."
"I'll buy you another one."
"You can't find another one." she moaned as he kissed her chest. Suddenly there was yelling and gun shots. Roman and Courtney got up fast. Courtney put a shirt on and followed him. What they saw will haunt Courtney forever. She saw Seth holding Nikki in his arms, she was bleeding from the arm, Dean was lying on the ground not moving, and Hunter was standing there in the living room, now pointing a gun at Courtney and Roman.
"Hello Mister Reigns, Miss Monroe. It's finally great to meet you."
