Though there wasn't any snow on the ground it was still very cold. People packed up and put on gloves, scarves and anything they could get their hands on. Arianna didn't really want to go but she wanted to get some sweets for her little sister who had asked for some in her last letter. So she entered Honeydukes completely set on just getting her sister some and doing nothing else.

"Arianna?" She glanced over from where the voice had come from. It was Noah and Isla. Arianna slowly walked over to where they stood. Isla had a slightly annoyed look her face as she looked up the rows.

"Should we get he a chocolate frog...no she doesn't like chocolate... She trailed off. Noah raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't expect you to be here." He said. Arianna shrugged.

"I have a little sister who has a sweet tooth." Isla snorted as she glanced over.

"So do we but your's probably isn't a devil spawn." Noah sighed and Arianna gave him a questioning look. He ran a hand through his hair.

"She's cunning," He responded simply. "She comes here next year and we already know what house she's going to be in." Arianna smiled slightly and nodded. Isla rolled her eyes before grabbing a box strange red looking candy.

"Just go." She said. She turned and started to make her way up to the counter to pay for the candy.

"Excuse me?" Arianna asked. Noah watched his sister for a moment then went red as she began to talk.

"I said just go. I'll get some candy for your sister Arianna and you can pay me back later. Noah wanted to go on a date with you-

"Okay Isla I think that's enough! Noah interrupted his sister. The Slytherin grinned at him and turned swiftly making her green and silver scarf swish. He took a deep breath then rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about her... He trailed off. Arianna smiled softly.

"I wouldn't mind a butter beer. Do you want to go to the three broomsticks?" Noah looked at her in surprise.

"Ye..yes." He stammered.

Logan frowned and rubbed his hands together as Nicola pulled him along by his jacket. James was a head of them walking fast with his hands in his pockets. "Come on Logan." She said. She was in much higher spirits than she was earlier in the day which made him happy but now she was kind of being annoying.

"Nicola he clearly doesn't want to come why are you dragging him along?" James asked. Nicola frowned at James but continued on walking. She was determined to bring him a long to The Three Broomsticks and insisted that he had nothing else to do. Despite that being true he didn't really want to admit it.

"Because he needs some new friends beside Peter and Isla." Logan frowned at her.

"Well-

"I didn't mean it that way and you know it." Nicola said before Logan could say anything else. They turned a corner quickly then slowed their pace as they came upon the pub. James got the door first and opened the door for Nicola, who had let go of Logan's sleeve, and then went in himself. Logan sighed and caught the door before it closed.

As usual the pub was loud and cozy. Nicola had gone and found them a table and James had gone up to get them some butter beers. Logan positioned himself on the other side of the table and took off his coat. Nicola raised an eyebrow. "James isn't making you feel uncomfortable is he?" Logan shook his head.

"No." He answered simply. Nicola nodded. Logan bit his lip as he watched her. The light in the room seemed to make her light mocha skin tone almost glow. He blushed slightly and glanced down at his hands.

"Three butter beers." Logan looked up a James as he came to the table. He sat a drink down in front of Logan then went over and sat beside Nicola.

"Um...thanks." Logan said hesitantly. He knew this conversation was already going to be awkward. James nodded at him and took a swing of his butter beer.

"So...what's going on between you and Isla?" Logan's eyes went wide and he went red.

"Nothing! Why would you think that?" Logan asked. James snorted and took another drink of butter beer before answering.

"You guys hang out all of the time-

"So do you two." Logan retorted. James rolled his eyes and Nicola crossed her arms.

"Just because a girl and a guy hang out doesn't mean they like each other. You two both know that right?" She asked in slight annoyance. She sighed and started to play with the dog tags around her neck. Logan noticed it and raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. Of course." James replied. "I just thought there was something going on between the two of them."

"There's not."Logan assured him. He took a deep breath and put his hands on the table. James glanced down at his ring for a moment and shrugged. "If anything were siblings or even cousins."

"Okay." James said simply. He took yet another swing from his butter beer. Nicola snickered and James put his glass down. "What?"

"James seems like he hates Slytherins but when it really gets down to it he bases people on their personality." Nicola said. James rolled his eyes at her and Logan gave a small laugh. James glanced at him.

"Something wrong snake bit?" Logan grinned.

"Why would you think that gryffindork?" Nicola smirked.

"That's probably the worse insult to Gryffindor you have ever made." Nicola commented. She sat back in her chair as Logan narrowed his eyes at her.

"I have not really insulted them but that's one everyone uses in Slytherin."Nicola smirked again. James turned his head as they continued to talk. He frowned slightly as he saw Isla passing the pub turned back to them.

"I'll be right back." He said. Nicola nodded but she wasn't really paying attention since she didn't mention anything about his coat when he picked it up. James made his way, going around some third years in the process and opened the door outside the pub. He looked down the street to just see Isla stopping and turning her head. He lipped his coat on and walked forward just as she turned into the alley.

He quickened his pace and in only a few seconds was already where she was before. She then turned and stopped. Isla was standing there in front of a strange looking woman with dark hair. "What?" Isla asked in confusion. James walked forward quickly and before he knew it his hand was on her shoulder. Isla jumped and he woman snarled at him.

"Isla, who's this?" James asked in a tense voice. He was getting a bad feeling off of her. Isla didn't answer for a moment.

"I don't know she was in the alley and called me over to her." Isla said. James watched her for a moment and frowned. This wasn't her. The woman took a deep breath.

"You have made a great amount of mistakes Merlin. You will not win." James frowned at her and then she just disappeared. Isla almost instantly fell to her knees. She gasped and held her head.

"What the hell? Are you okay?" James asked. Isla shook her head. "Lets get you back to the school. He grabbed her arm despite the fact that he was shaking slightly.
