Chapter 10: Filler
Mike grabbed a jackal by the neck, flew it to the ground and drove a knife into its head. John advanced forward taking out every sniper in the ally, John looked back to the Spartan three who was moving slowly with the marines, making sure that non of them die. John began to move forward again, how could that three be so slow, and stay with the marines, John turned the corner and fired at an elite who quickly took cover. Mike saw this and picked up an marine with a wounded leg and ran over to where John was, he set the marine down behind a wall. Mike grabbed John and threw him into the wall. "What the hell are you doing we got wounded?!" asked Mike.
"A wounded" said John.
"It doesn't fucking matter chief" said Mike pinning John against the wall. John quickly pushed him back.
"His injury will only get in the way of the mission" said John walking away and back into battle. Mike sighed and called for an evac.
Present
Kelly threw Ben into the air, he quickly fell back into the water making a big splash, he swam up and gasped for air. They were at the beach, Ron Ivy's dad, Nani, and Cortana decided to take the kids to the beach since the kids had been bugging them. She walked up to Cortana and sat on a beach towel. "This parenting thing doesn't look fun or safe" said Kelly to Cortana.
"Yeah, but, its worth it to see the smile on their faces" said Cortana looking at her children play in the water. She looked at Kelly and gave her a warm smile.
Ark
Mike danced in the middle of a circle as the group clapped along making a beat for him.
"What are you doing?" Asked The GraveMind looking down at tiny creatures.
"Dancing" said Mike looking up at the GraveMind. "The Arbiter is very persuasive" Mike pointed to the guards to brought them here.
"The boss get wired in these kinds of situations so we play along" said Meghan clapping.
"Wired?" Asked the GraveMind.
"He doesn't tell us why but it's because of something that happened to him a long time ago" said Meghan. The GraveMind looked at Mike as he danced in wonder.
In orbit of the Ark
"Where are they?! They've been down there for hours, why hasn't the contact messaged me anything yet" roared Jul inside the bridge of his supercarrier, he looked at the human com pad, and drove his fist into it. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!". Jul walked back and fourth for a minute or two. "Send in a team to find them".
Many years ago
Mike carried the marine as the chief covered them, at least he agreed to do this. Mike sat him down behind what looked like a fally corner of a building, Mike looked up to see a pelican lowering down. "Johnson, get on that pelican, we need someone to rally our troops, you to Mike maybe a Spartan can give them hope" said Miranda through the com.
"Yes ma'am" said Mike picking up the marine and taking him into the pelican as a marine covered them, Johnson followed and said something to the chief, Mike decided he should to. "Hey Chief" the chief turned to Mike. "Go fuck yourself" said Mike as the pelican lifted off.
John Shook his head as the pelican flew away. "How did someone like that become the fourth deadliest Spartan" said John returning fire at a jackal.
"Someone's worried" said Cortana.
"What do you mean?" Asked John.
"You checked the stats for the first time, and actually he's the second deadliest since the other two are dead, but we all know that the UNSC declare them as MIA" said Cortana.
"Still, it doesn't make sense" said John moving forward.
"Quit your winning" said Cortana.
Mike pulled out a piece of paper that was in a slit in his armor, he looked at the worn out picture of him and Samantha, that Lucy took. He sighed and jumped out of cover, John fired the battle rifle at three grunts. He then stuck a plasma grenade down an elites throat and dove to cover as the grenade went off. He then ran down the alley and headed to his waypoint.
Many many years ago planet New Harmony
Samantha coughed up blood and it hit Micheal's visor but he didn't move, Plasma flew across the sky but Micheal just held her. He looked at the plasma burn on her shoulder the bone was melted, all he could here from her were the screams. He put his finger over her lips."Save your strength, your gonna need it when the evac comes" he said quietly to the young girl. She laughed and shook her head.
"I'm dead anyway Mike, there's no use" she said, Micheal felt his heart drop for the first time in years.
"Please don't call me Mike, bad things happen when you do" he said shaking his head.
"Just promise me this Mike, promise me you'll change, you'll laugh, cry, love..." she trailed off and looked down at the assault rifle, then back at Micheal's lifeless visor. "I love you Mike, I've had for six months" Micheal heard of that word before, but he forgot the meaning, what was it. "Promise me...that you'll be...Human" Mike quickly looked at her as she took her final breaths and her body went limp.
"You were a good soldier" he whispered and gently placed her down. He stood up and pulled out his assault rifle, then began to walk away ignoring any shots that hit his shields.
Ark
"Do you wanna build snowman...It doesn't have to be a snowman" sang Mike.
" Please make it stop" begged Thel.
"I'm gonna kill him once he's done" said Meghan.
"Yo big man" said Mike walking up to the GraveMind.
"Yes" said The GraveMind.
"Who's this ancient forerunner AI?" asked Mike.
"He is the last true survivor of the flood and Forerunner war" said the GraveMind.
"How?" Asked Mike.
"Because he helped us" said the GraveMind.
"What?" Asked Mike.
"He listened to us and he helped us get pass the forerunners security protocols and take them out" said the GraveMInd.
"Oh" said Mike.
