Digimon Tamers: Hazards Drabbles

Chapter 10: Acceptance

Shinjuku, Japan

Today was an important day, the tamers were graduating and Takato was in a bittersweet mood.

For one thing he was happy that his friends were finally done with school and they would be around more, except the problem this was a sign that they were growing up and that one day they would all drift apart.

Takato had always known that it would happen, he just had a hard time accepting it. Acceptance was something that Takato had a hard time with in general.

He didn't like change and honesty did everything in his power to stop it. His problem with acceptance is why his past as a Tamer was so hard to get over, he couldn't accept some things that happened to him and because of that wasn't able to move on.

The main problem is that accepting that the events happened and somewhere in Takato's fucked up mind he still wanted to believe that it all had been a dream and that one day he'd wake up as a 12 year old again having never been a tamer.

Unfortunately that would never happen and he was stuck in reality. Sometimes he wondered if it was fear holding him back, he was afraid of losing his friends or losing his past so refused to accept it.

Whatever the case was Takato couldn't accept change. Honestly maybe he was just childish, everyone needed to learn in life that things changed and he just refused to accept that.

Thankfully though Rika had an easier time accepting things and it was probably why they were still dating. Every time she found out about a little quirk he had or a personality flaw she didn't freak out or get mad, she just accepted it was who he was and kept rolling with it.

He figured she probably learned about accepting things at a young age. Takato sighed to himself, he was waiting for them all to arrive to celebrate, he knew they had to to do things with their families but Takato had just asked them to come out to get some ice cream with him.

He had decided that he would continue to try and fight against the change, and he would never accept defeat.

As he pulled a black box out of his pocket, he opened it to see a ring inside. Maybe he couldn't accept thing but he would keep trying, but right now all he was caring about is that Rika would accept the question he would be asking her later that night.
