Chapter 9 -sacrifice
katalina walked toward the door when she saw damon and rose. "turn it off" rose said taking a sip of her gin. "i will if you do" he said getting up. rose sped up to him and began to kiss him. katalina felt a huge tug at her heart. tears began to flow as she turned away, she ran in and up the stairs before they could see her. "what is happening to me" wiping away the tears. "i love stefan not damon stefan!" she said to herself trying hard to convince her heart. she grabbed a locket from her chest and placed it around her neck and opened it, inside was a small picture of her, and her sister and on the other side was her family smiling.
katalina woke up to the sun streaming slightly through a crack in the blinds, she walked out her room at the same time as damon stepped out his. "i hadnt noticed you were home" damon said looking down at the floor then back at her. "yeah i was with stefan looking for elena" she said coldly. "so i think we can render the moonstone useless but we're going to need it" he said. "then we're going to need help" katalina said.
damon looked over at stefan then at katalina as they arrived at the tomb. stefan stepped out and opened katalina's door, katalina smiled "thanks". damon watched them as he began to walk toward the entrance. They only looked at each other as damon and stefan took the stone slab from the doorway. katalina stayed behind the boys as they all looked into the pitch black tomb. "please theres enough room for all of us" katalina said weakly. "see i would rather poke my eyes out" damon answered. "and such pretty eyes you have". katherine said. "we're here for the moonstone" katalina said anger in her voice. "feel like tossing it over" followed damon. " tell you guys what you get you witch to hocus-pocus me out and you can have what ever you want" she answered waving her finger around. "i thought you liked here nice and safe from klaus" stefan said smiling. " i've time to reconsider" she said looking at katalina as she walked closer. " meaning your hungry" katalina said arms crossed. "yes actually im starving katalina and dirty oh and above all im bored" she answered leaning against the stone wall. "atleast running from klaus isnt boring" she said. "you get me out of here, you get the moonstone, and ill disappear from mystic falls forever, let me know what you decide she smirked as she flashed them the stone and walked back into the shadows.
"alright we'll do it, so if we're done here id like to get going seeing her face drives me mad" she walked out leaving behind stefan and damon. katalina stood at the top of the entrance trying to keep back the tears. "what was that all about" damon said moving her away so that stefan wouldn't hear knowing he would either way. "dont act like you don't still love her i can see your face and stefan's and I'm guessing your also fond of elena" she spit out. "i despise Katherine as much as you" he said grabbing her arm. "yeah right" she said pushing his hand away and walking back to the car. "you ok" stefan asked. "im fine stefan lets just go" she replied. damon looked back at katalina with anger splashed all over his face.
they stepped out the car and walked up to elena's door, stefan knocked feeling sort of nervous. elena opened the door "hey" "can we talk" stefan asked. "why" elena said confused as she saw damon. "cause we went to go see katerina" katalina said stepping out from behind both of them. "uh come on in" she said stepping back so they could enter.
stefan began to explain to elena they're conversation with katherine. "you dont believe her,do you?" she asked a concerned look came across her face. katalina looked at elena as she leaned against the kitchen sink. "no of course not" katalina replied. "we just want the moonstone" damon said tossing a grapefruit back and forth. "see according to rose's friend slater there's a way, to destroy the spell that klaus wants to break" stefan stated lookin over at damon then back at elena. " no spell,no doppleganger sacrifice" katalina said walking over to the counter. "ergo you live" damon answered. elena crosed her arms and shrugged. "ok how do you destroy it" elena questioned. "well by releasing it from the moonstone" stefan spoke out. elena looked at them like they were crazy un crossing her arms "how do you guys even know this gonna work" her voice shaking. "well we have a crafty witch on our side" katalina voiced. elena looked at her and then at stefan placing her hands on the counter "you disscussed this with bonnie" she said unsatisfied. katalina looked over at stefan as he answered "she agreed to anything she could help us with".
"katherine has the moon stone she's not going to give it to you" elena said. "elena we are going to to get it from her" katalina said now annoyed. "well what my dear katalina means to say is that we will pry it from her cold, dead hands if we have to" damon smirked. "bonnie just needs to find a way to release the seal long enough for us to to go in, get the moonstone and get out in time for her to return it" stefan explained. katalina twirled her locket and looked at elena as she thought "wow so you guys have this all planned out" she answered. "yeah we are awsome" damon said waving his hands around. "except for one thing, i dont want you to do it" she said looking at stefan. katalina rolled her eyes and looked through the cabinets for booze. "elena what are you talking about we dont have a choice" stefan said confused. "i told you she wasnt going to allow it"katalina voiced out as she kept ransacking the kitchen. "what about klaus" elena said looking at katalina the at stefan. "we'll find him, but after we get the moonstone" he answered.
"is that before or after he kills everyone that i care about including you three" she said looking at damon who was now surprised. "listen elena if we can de-spell the moonstone we can save your life" katalina stated walking over by elena. "i know everyone keeps saying that" she said getting up and walking away. katalina looked dumfounded "im going back to the house this place has no booze, oh and i told you so". katalina walked out looking in her bag for her phone. "hey can i come with you to the house i need to speak with someone" elena said looking back to see if damon or stefan were there. "uh yeah but your driving" katalina said walking toward her car.
"are you willing to end your sisters life" elena asked eyes glued to the road. "no, not really but she has ruined not only my life but everyone around her" she answered looking out the car window watching the houses and trees blur by. "how has she ruined your life, thats if its alright to ask" elena said glancing over at katalina then back on the road. "lets just say it involves stefan and im not really into sharing it with my ex's new girl" she said a little hostility in her voice.
