Chapter 10: Fragmented

-=-=-X.X-=-=-X.X-=-=-

"Welcome back, Reiyuu." A sweet voice spoke, fragile body bowing slightly, as she took him up into her arms.

"Good to be home, mother." He spoke with politeness, his face stoic, as he took the sword from off of his body. "You shouldn't hug me, I have blood all over my clothes." He warned her, though it was too late as she already had her arms wrapped around him in a warm embrace. Taking in her scent, a little piece of him was actually happy to be back from the pained mission he was sent on.

Watching from a distance eyes watered in the background. Somehow, Zero pictured these to be the happy moments of his childhood.'Before-' Any thoughts being cut-off as the wheat-haired woman spoke again, a small smile on her feature's. "Your birthday passed." Risa announced, catching as he never really did care for his date of birth.

"I don't want anything, mother. But thank you for the offer." Reiyuu/Zero said, pulling gently away from her.

"Are you hungry? I could fix you something, if you'd like?" Reiyuu shook his head, loving his mother's antics on trying to cheer the sullen boy up, still nothing worked.

"Again, thank you mother, but I'd really just like to rest." The boy pulled away from the warm and inviting embrace, as well as her wavering smile, and slowly walked towards the stairs of their , Risa, his mother was understanding.

"That's quite alright," She bowed her hair falling around her, "Good night, and Happy eighth birthday." The vampire bowed again towards her son's departing body, watching as he stopped to look back at her. His thoughts wandering over to another mission completed, the killing of other vampires trying to impose on their turf, including humans.

Running the water for a hot bath, he slowly slid the blood stained white and gold kimono off of his slender shoulders. Sliding in, he enjoyed the feeling of his aching muscles relaxing, his tongue running out over his lips, still he could taste the blood of other's in his mouth.

Yes, this was his was why he was so important to those who lived there in their small town equal to that of a village, mainly his father, Daniel.

Allowing the blood to wash off of him easily, he soaked in the bath, his thoughts thinking back on that of his mother's warm smiling face, and her frail body that weakened by the days.

If only his mother knew that she was all that he needed in his crushed world. Taking place along side her was that of his half-sister, Lillian. Standing from his place in the bath, he grabbed the first towel he saw, the color that of a mint green, matching his skin complexion nicely. "Oh Reiyuu!" Her heard the said person he was thinking of briefly exclaiming his name with excitement, bursting into his private bath.

Stepping out-of-the-way just in time as the door opened, immediately he found her arms wrapped around his neck pulling him closer into her body, suffocating the poor lad with her breast. Blushing a light tint of pink as he pushed her away from him, his silver-blue irises staring angrily at the floor. Taking in the appearance of such a cute sulking face, she knew the reason for his anger. The embarrassment he felt towards the true feelings he held for her.

"You're back." She tried again to catch him in an embrace, one that he avoided smoothly. As he turned his back to her, trying to control the confusion of mixed feelings that always started to consume him when his elder sister happened to be present.

"What are you doing here, Lily? Why are you in my private bathing quarters?" His words were said with the annoyance he felt, yet his eyes showed the complete opposite, they were gentle. Becoming murky grey's in his confused state. "Oh shut up, you act like I never seen you naked before!" One that she found too adorable as she decided to tease him. "Why I remember when you were a baby, and cleani-"

"Well that's enough!" Reiyuu said flustered, the dark red flushing his cheeks, ears, and even to the back of his neck. Watching with such high amusement as the pale boy turned a completely different color, she couldn't contain it any longer, bursting out as laughter.

"But you're my little brother, my little sweet brother, who I care for and love. No matter how much of a brat you are." Lillian said, her golden hair starting to fall from her makeshift bun.

"I'm not sweet." The words spoken coolly, his attitude altering completely as he thought back on all the men and women he'd killed that day. "I'm not sweet at all." He looked down, avoiding her as the image of it all came back.

"If it bother's you so much, why don't you stop?" Questioning, while taking in the appearance of the trembling pureblood, breaking him from his recollections.

"You know that I can't." He answered meeting her gaze as she looked down this time, the screws in her head moving gears forward, as her arms came out pulling him in close. "I know, but still..." The pain came back, the blood that he'd once washed off reappeared. This time instead of the victim's crimson color, it was his own life flowing from the wounds he suffered. His shredded clothes being ripped from his body at the time skip now at the age of twelve.

"It won't stop..." It was briefly whispered, her voice like that of a gentle breeze behind the grass in sway. "... Not until he's dead."

His eyes opened wide, the hot liquid he felt rising in his throat threatened to escape from his lips. Quickly, he found himself hunched over the toilet, lurching until he started to dry heave. Trying to catch his breath, he waited out another wave, before laying his head against the cool porcelain. Zero's body was burning, he could feel it, the pain returning ten fold. Restraining all of his movements, even as his fingers twitched, wanting to grab at the source, but weren't permitted. His throat burned, and he denied the thirst he had fought against for the pass few weeks.

The silverette couldn't allow anyone to know, and he couldn't trust himself around the presence of the one he needed. The thought of dark hair made his hunger spike, causing his body to jerk, the image wanting to become clearer.

Instead, he laid there on the cold tile floor, trying to catch his breath, and calm his beating heart which hurt.

While waiting for the burning in his throat to subside, his body suffered small tremors at his stomach clenching and contracting painful waves of hunger pangs.. The temptation of thoughts that led back to his dream displayed in the back of his mind. The wish of wanting to forget becoming more and more relevant with each day, he closed his violent purple eyes painfully.

"Again, come at me again!" The voice shouted loudly as metal clashed bringing forth sparks. "You have to do better than that, Kiryuu."

"I know!" The silver-haired teenager retaliated, causing his eyes to momentarily flare from the anger he felt.

"Do you really believe that? Or are you just saying it?" The blonde noble questioned as he backed off slightly.

Zero moved from the other, back to the starting point. If he thought about it, if he could only stare at himself more clearly. Then maybe he could believe those words.

"From the beginning now." Takuma spoke staring towards the young teen seeming out-of-place. There was something bothering him, but he wouldn't know unless he expressed how he felt. "I want you to come at me with everything you've got. No giving up, no sloppy movements." The aristocrat took stance, pointing his sword towards the floor, and not at Zero's throat anymore.

The ex-human wanted to believe those words more than anything. But at that moment, he couldn't feel them. He didn't believe in himself at all. The visions kept returning to haunt him, the fear of not remembering the ones shrouded only in the disturbing images of blood, the fear renewing of wanting knowledge.

"No more holding back, Zero!" He flinched, looking slightly perplexed at hearing his name. Lavender orb stared with strange uncertainty, wondering what it was that drew him to the blonde's comfort and company? Even if he could figure it out, he knew it was no sense of familiarity, no sense of companionship, none of those things. None of it mattered in his current state of denial, as he continued to press on, almost losing sanity along the way.

Swords. Real, steel and metal swords. Already he could feel his muscle's tense up, from fear or anticipation, he knew not. 'Why?' His focus starting to falter, aiming at one thought in mind that he felt the ridiculousness of. 'Why do we have to practice fighting now with real one's?' His mind questioned absently as he missed the first movement. A small fear made itself known, twisting up in knots coiling in the pit of his stomach.

Once more Takuma moved, and Zero had to defend himself again. Moving and barely blocking in time with the older vampire, as he pushed him to progress further.

A small cut in the fabric of his clothing brought back an accustomed feeling, the fear more real as something was starting to take hold of him. 'I can't feel it.' Inside, somewhere he was fighting his inner-turmoil, the frustration of wanting to forget.

Ryuuzaki moved, watching with trained eyes as Takuma blocked all his advances and strikes with ease. His top was quickly being shredded piece by piece, but he didn't mind it at all.

The same repeated images were loud, like a drum beating in his ear. Takuma was taunting him, wanting him to break his self-control. If it kept going on this way, they'd both surely lose this battle. Already, Zero could feel the noble was pushing himself, and would soon suffer from surpassing his limit.

'Self Control.' The ex-human started to say the words in his head, but something inside cracked. Inside his mind, he could see a smile as it started to happen. The numb feeling starting to burn away at his mind. Zero closed his eyes trying to convince himself that none of it mattered while breathing deeply.

"Why should I care?" The silver-haired teen spoke it loudly, feeling the power surge from within him. Something inside was breaking free, he wanted to feel he realized as he felt the small tingle in his fingers. A warm light was embracing him, and suddenly his sword became light not feeling like a burden in his grip.

The same blue color from before reawakened caressing him, as the form etched on his sword took shape of a waking dragon. The cool blue color reflecting the same as flowing ice.

His once amethyst stained eyes opened sharply, quickly he moved dodging all the advances of the other, making him stumble back on the heels of his feet. Pressing forward still, Zero pushed the other back until he seemed to lift off the ground going against the flow of gravity.

Blinking green eyes rapidly, the only thing he could do in that moment was hold off the attacks the ex-human was throwing his way with such fierce speed and force. 'Almost the same level as.' His thoughts stopped as he could see the sword moving to aim for the left side of his chest. Blocking the motion, he barely had time to block the next attack. It was reckless and wild, telling him that the teen was somewhere lost in his mind.

"Zero!" Takuma said the name but didn't get a response as he turned away from the blade cutting into his shoulder. Something was wrong, dangerously so. Knowing that he was at the peak of his limit he backed off from offensive attacks and switched to defense. If he was going to survive and reach the male drowning in his own mind, he needed to wait until the opportunity presented itself.

Backing up once more, his sword stinging the palm of his hands and vibrations reverberating through his fingertips, he blocked the powerful thrust of the sword in Zero's hand. A smile broke across that angelic face, a smile so sinister and cold; yet filled with unhinged desire and loneliness. "Rei-yuu..." It was mumbled, as nostalgia started to overtake his senses.

Takuma could now feel what it was the male was fighting against. His inner self, and it was that self that took control. Takuma wasn't the opponent, Reiyuu was.

"Zero!" He screamed the name as he moved once more from a forced stroke. Something was eating at the male, and now that he'd figured it out, he was going in for the kill.

Dropping his sword suddenly, he watched as the teen's attacks advanced forward. Zero wasn't looking at him at all, his eyes seemed empty. Using the last of his energy the aristocrat avoided a final strike. Wrapping his arms around the waist of the male, he closed his eyes trying his best to force his existence on to the male, wanting to awaken him from the suffering he was drowning in.

"Zero," The vice-president spoke softly, "It's okay now." The sadness reflecting in a comforting smile, he knew part of the life Reiyuu lived. But not from the mouth of the teen, but from Kaname after he'd passed. "You can stop fighting now." He said only making the male push him back with a powerful wave of power.

Turning around to swing at him, the edge of the sword was caught by shaking hands. Restraining the movements of the sword's owner to go further. The blood dripping from his hands ran down his arms to stain his clothes, hitting the padded floor. Still, with tears in his eyes, he wrapped those hands around the sword more, pulling it down as he seen his chance to grab the male close. If he wanted to kill him or cut his fingers off, he could have. Takuma knew that much.

Zero wasn't at full power, and wasn't completely gone. All movements ceased, sure he broke the silver-haired hunter from the control of the overwhelming power he was under. "Zero, it's okay." Takuma spoke again, softer than the less as remorse filled his trembling voice, ears perking at the sound of metal dropping to the floor echoed in the room.

Sighing with relief, the green-eyes male wrapped the other closer to his chest. Bringing a head of silver to his chest, just in time to see eyes soften. Hands shook of weakness as he caught the look on the hunter's face. 'Pure emotional agony.' Zero's body fell directly against his, the hearing of a heartbeat cleared his mind as he let it take him over. 'Lily.' He wanted so bad to believe the rhythm of beats filling his ears were that of her form. Closing his eyes fully, he didn't remember when he ever fell asleep in them as he came to. Eyes opening only to gulp down spit, as he realized he was wrapped safely inside arms embracing him.

Almost frightened, his eyes opened wide. Seeing the red staining the clothes he pulled back abruptly. Light verdant orbs peered as well, gracing him with their life. Staring with shame, Zero couldn't look the noble's way as he couldn't forgive himself.

Repressing a shudder, he looked towards the sword back in a dormant state. "I'm..." It was slow, the fear coming back once more as he couldn't remember what he'd done.

"You did well." The words were finally spoken, breaking through the barrier the hunter put up in that moment. Finally, he relaxed his body, watching as Takuma fell against the floor making contact with his skin. "So you can get access to that power?" He laid there against the tatami staring up at the ceiling, not completely oblivious as he made the hunter believe.

"Even though, you're no longer a pure blood, Rei." The name made bone white teeth clench shut, the action making the blonde aware and stopping the name from passing from his lips. Looking at the male, he felt bewilderment overcome his senses at watching the anger and loathe the ex-human was feeling,

"Don't call me that, I'm not..." Zero's words trailed as he begun to speak, not wanting to come to terms with the events conspiring between them.

"When will you stop denying who you are, Zero?" The noble sat up now, his knees bent up at perfect forty-five degree angles, "You are him, Ryuuzaki Reiyuu." He took a deep breath while staring up at the figure standing a little ways from his own. Silver strands shading over his face blocking the color of his pure lavender eyes. "It's too late." Zero recoiled from the words, almost blanching as the vampire spoke. "The evidence has already been proven."

"Evidence?" It made him look to the blonde as something inside was fondly smiling at the acknowledgement.

"You said it yourself all those years ago." Takuma now stood in front of him, facing him head on. The playful tone he'd usually held dissolved into the canvas of what was once painted as the cool atmosphere that covered his dark aura. "The sword that was special, made for only Ryuuzaki Reiyuu." Zero's eyes gazing deeply into space, wanting to see the sky darkening, anything to block out those cruel words. "Someone like you, Kiryuu Zero."

"I'm sorry." Zero said his fist squeezing tightly, almost digging red crescents into skin, turning hands completely white. "But, I still can't be the person you wish me to be."

"That's fine," Takuma spoke up, "You know where to find me, if you ever want to talk anything over. After all, you may not look like it, but you're still-" His words failed at the look the young hunter threw over his shoulder.

Suddenly it came.

'The pain you feel burning you from the inside out. Do you wish to know what it is?'

Her voice calling in the back of his head, his body stiffened in the moment he tried to escape from the room, trying to hide the state he was in. Zero could feel the burn paralyzing his movements as the hunger made it unbearable to stand. It was a mistake to use such power, the teen realized taking small steps while swaying towards the exit.

Stopping short of getting out of the threshold of the door, his knees gave and he dropped gathering the attention of the blonde vampire who could only stare at the strained behavior and falling teen.

Rushing over to his side, he placed his hand on Zero's shoulder. "Just as I thought!" Takuma's hands went to help hold the younger up, "You've been starving yourself, haven't you?" Pulling away, despite not having the strength to do so, Zero tried to escape from the presence of the elder. Takuma held fast to the stubborn perfect, "Kaname told me that you might resort back to your old tactics. Starving yourself as a means not to hurt anyone. Yet, you choose to never drink from him."

"How did you-" The words cut short when the pain came back ten fold. His head bowed in defeat, throat wanting to gain lost moisture that he denied. "I don't want to taste, or smell his blood." Zero spoke with defiance though his outward features contradicted his actions. The dryness in his throat becoming known, mixing with the sound of pain. His lilac eyes, playing a role in giving away his fears as the crimson started to take control.

"You have no choice, Kiryuu." Takuma watched as the teeth in an opened mouth extend pass quivering lips. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the familiar small box of blood tablets.

"No," The words were pained while the perfect shook his head ferociously, voice becoming deeper sounding more like a growl, "They don't work." Zero grunted out painfully, eyes closing and breathing ragged as he world dimming into the color of pure red.

The red being all he could see, blinding him and disconnecting his realty as he launched forward for the older vampire's neck. Completely unaware of his actions as the blood lust took control, revealing that of an animal. Scrambling back, slightly taken by surprise, the still exhausted teen barely dodged the sharp teeth aiming for his throat recklessly, in instead escaped with a graze of fangs passing over his shoulder. Hearing the snapping sound of fangs clashing against one another gave him more motivation to get out-of-the-way.

Breathing hunched over, Zero gasped out loud looking towards the male for help as he found his mind slipping back into a destructive state at hearing the blood rushing through veins, eyes trailing to stare at a beautiful neck, taunting him. The beast inside mocking his existence, wanting what it desired fervently so. "Takuma!" Zero barely had time to yell the name out in warning as he finally lost his will to his vampiric nature.

Lounging back, Takuma evaded another attempt as teeth came towards him, this time with hands reaching out trying for a grab at the older male who seemed evasively nimble and well fit.

"I'm not that weak, Zero." The blonde vampire spoke almost ashamed at the situation unfolding at hand. Another attempt found Zero stumbling over his own feet and hitting the floor hard. Any sign of continuation ceased, making the blonde noble sigh loudly as he approached the teen seeming to be paralyzed from the very force of pain that wrecked his body.

Slowly making way towards the teen, he knew it wouldn't be best to touch the perfect until he succumbed to a unconscious state. But, he also knew that the silver-haired vampire was in no shape to move, and possibly would remain so for the next several minutes.

Coming to stand beside him, Takuma didn't bother to touch the teen while biding his time, still cautiously waiting for the teen to pass out. When no motion was made, he deemed the area safe and crouched down beside the fallen teen, debating whether to sit or stand. "Well we just can't allow you to starve. And I can't allow you to die, or lose your mind and fall lower." He said voice low finally arriving to a concision between pondering thoughts he sat.

Meeting only silence which seemed to unnerve him, unhurriedly the vice president placed his hand in front of the unmoving teen. Zero's breathing checking normal, green orbs stared almost blankly at the one's that were truly so. Blank purple colored eyes framed perfectly with a stoic face almost broken, concentrated into nothingness, looking right pass him. "Seems no one's home." Takuma spoke, moving stray silvers from Zero's brow, feeling the sheen of sweat damping his forehead. Pulling his hand back only momentarily he checked once more at feeling heat leaving the male's body at what he could describe as critical heat.

Zero felt hot, his body felt feverishly hot, as if the ex-human was on fire. His eyes suddenly glanced at the blonde teen, and without warning or time to pull back successfully. Takuma found a hand pressing painfully down on his wrist, and found once more teeth launching for his throat again. The silverette acting like a rampaging monster trying his best to get a meal, anything to soothe the burning of not only his throat but his body.

Trying to change their positions the younger male would have no such thing as he held a death grip on the wrist, adding more pressure he could almost hear the bones splintering on the verge of breaking. Takuma let out a yelp of surprised pain, but still managed to avoid the snapping teeth with his free hand. Punching the silverette as hard as he could, the sound of a jaw breaking could be heard, cracking sickening in the air.

But it wasn't enough as the older vampire moved his hand back towards his body and away from the snapping teen's neck. Only to find that trained eyes had caught an easier target, fangs finally clamping down into the very arm of the male that wounded him. As it wasn't enough damage to sustain to stop the creature from acquiring what he wanted, and needed. Clamping down harshly, Zero's fangs broke skin almost haphazardly.

Blood.

It rushed down his throat, soothing briefly the burning dryness of his throat. Gulping greedily and loudly, he felt it move down further into his stomach, doing the same for his aching stomach. Howling out in pain, Takuma stopped the same dark chuckle that threatened to escape as laughter, moaning loudly, and sighing at the same time as the young male lost himself in the feel of blood finally pouring down his dry throat. The noble did nothing to prevent it from going any further, feeling a warmth bubble inside his chest as he realized that this moment was something he wanted. For a long time now.

But the situation did nothing to sooth Zero's pain, none of it, and the silverette pulled back frantically, coughing uncontrollably. Throwing up whatever contents he swallowed as his body rejected the blood. This wasn't what he needed, and it left him vulnerable as he gripped his stomach painfully on the verge of passing out as Takuma's blood only made his hunger intensify.

The pain was worse than before, coming back a thousand fold, if possible.

"We have to get you back safely, and unnoticed to the public." The vice president spoke, a matter-of-fact tone taking over, along with urgency as he safely got his wrist back from the hacking teen.

Taking caution, stepping towards the fallen teen's body. One look of fear showing through blood dyed eyes were enough to let the older know that Zero was back. Even if just a little, it was enough to safe to go by, and hopefully transport them back into the dormitory without being seen by anyone else, or the situation earlier to repeat itself.

Takuma held back from his speech, as he let go of the weakened body of the hunter, allowing him to fall back on the bed. "You hang in there, I'm going to find Kaname now." The noble vampire stepped back from the bed he placed the pain-filled hunter on, watching as the sweat covered teen curled in to a ball. Sure that if he were left unattended any longer, he'd surely fall back to his previous state and attack anything he could sink his fangs into.

The pain was too much, he could barely keep from passing out, his eyes barely opened as he fought a losing battle against the ever-growing darkness. Moaning out painfully and biting back on his own tongue, the taste of his own blood sending him over the edge as he screamed in pain, falling unconscious.

-=-=-X.X-=-=-X.X-=-=-

"You won't last long in here," The man ran his tongue over the young vampire's ear, "Are you listening, Reiyuu?" His fingers caressed alongside his jaw bone, now grabbing harshly at the young pure blood's cheeks. "Complete the bond, that's if you want to live. I really didn't want to have to force you. I believe in due time, it could become something sweet for you." He said as his tongue licked up the side of the male's neck. The boy trembling but too stubborn to show his fear, as the tongue traced further up licking the traces of blood off his cheek.

"One transformed into the love we are both longing for." His hands now ran down the exposed chest the color of soft vanilla, "I only want the best for you." Taking one of the abused pink nubs into his mouth. The knife he had placed beside the boy hanging by re-enforced steel chains, was almost forgotten.

"I do this because I love you." The beast now took back up his old hobby, cutting the rest of the clothing from the tattered and bruised body. His hands now slithered their way into the fabric holding all that he wanted to be revealed, hidden.

Zero already knew how this would go and closed his eyes, trying to shut out his ears to the sounds of the young male screaming.

Getting down on his knees, the vampire licked up the milky thigh, lapping up the escaped blood before he continued with his sick treatment. No matter what the man did that day, he decided that Daniel was not his father. Nor was he a vampire, but a monster. Something much worse than demons as he began violating the boy over and over.

"I only want the best for you, son." His father said before leaving him broken laying on the floor.

Zero could now hear the man say, sadistically with pleasure.

Waiting until it was safe to grab whatever clothes were left over he covered his shaking body finally letting some of the tears leak unnoticed. He could hear as Daniel returned to the side of his mother's and he listened intently to their conversation. His eyes widened slightly, this was the first time his mother was yelling at the being she loved and married. Her body already weakening, "I don't want anything that you have to offer,Daniel."

"But Risa, if you don't drink this blood you'll die." Her movements suggested she tried knocking the filled bottle from the vampire's hands, only to be slapped half way across the room. Reiyuu could smell her tears, along with her desperation, and just like him, she wanted it all to end.

"Look," Daniel was by her side now, with an outstretched arm trying to help her up forcibly, "You've already grown weak." He said teasingly as he dug his claws into her arm, watching with amazement as the blood oozed from the puncture wounds beneath his fingernails.

"I'm not drinking my own son's blood. Not after all that I've heard, why would you say such things? Why do you do those things to him?" She said defiantly reminding the older vampire of the young teen he just left broken and bleeding to his own thoughts.

"Why? Do you want me to do it to you instead?" His eyes averted momentarily before turning back on her a chilling color of ice. "I love it when you're so weak, you pretending to be a pure blood, with the sweetest blood next to that of her son's." The blonde haired vampire reached down to pull her up by the hair, "It's almost sickening, the way you both act. After I took you both in from that disapproving family." He reminded her of the shame she went through, the scrutiny she had to suffer from what she had done. And the choosing of this man.

"I love your reactions, your screams." Slapping her across the face multiply times until her cheeks were red, he laughed aloud at her struggling to keep tears from coming to her eyes. "The way your blood taste added together with fear, regret, hate, and the sweetest conflict of love you have towards me." Daniel spoke delighting in licking the blood that trickled down her chin as he finally stopped.

"Why else do you think I keep you around?" He finally hurled the woman across the room, "Yes, your looks are anything but ordinary, just as his." Watching with a satisfied look on his face as the impact cracked the wall nearly in half. " But I can have whom ever I want." Still she refused to cry, even as blood trickled down her delicate cheeks, she'd never let him win as she composed herself against the onslaught of punishment. The thoughts the she'd become sickened by him, and disgusted with her self for all she allowed to happen. It would end.

"He's not your son!" She said with a smile, knowing that when she said that he'd flinch lightly, the greatest insult known to him. His eyes slanted with contempt towards the woman he loved, angry at the first child for the weakened vampire to bear was not that of his own.

"Take it back." He said lowly, walking over to her body which lie in a heap on the floor. A few bones broken, open fractures, and scratches littering her body already healing.

"So, you're not that weak after all?" The noble vampire spoke, bringing his hand down to caress her cheek. "When will you give up? You and I both know how futile this fight is." His fingers smeared the blood on her lips, pressing harshly into her cheek then becoming gentle.

"Let him go." She spoke up, pushing her light blonde hair behind her ear, as she stood, wobbling against the broken wall away from him. Her eyes gazed into the depths of his, staring straight into his soul.

"Maybe, someday." He laughed once more, shuddering lightly at the look she was giving him. "One day, your suffering will end." Those were the last words he spoke to her as he left out of the door, heading to their bathing quarters.

All words blended, making the perfect storm whirl around in his head. The words his mother yelled, revealing all that he needed to know, as he breathed faintly at hearing a knock before the opening of his room door.

Accessing the damage, the female's scent reminded him of a faint autumn sun moving slowly towards his body. "I'm so sorry." Her orange painted nails, ran softly through his wheat blonde hair.

Zero too became used to hearing these words faintly from his last dream of the events replayed. Knowing that this female, Lillian, was one of the only one's he could trust and love. Hopefully for all eternity. But the feeling that it too would be shattered made tears form in the corners of his eyes.

"It won't be long until your suffering ends." Lily spoke, offering him blood, but never taking in returning, fearing the creation of a blood bond between them. "Forgive me." A sword pierced through her body, he soon found himself staring at her from a distance.

"Lillian!" Reiyuu/Zero screamed out her name, she turned to face him with a smile and arms outstretched, the whispering of words could be heard. "I love you." It was faint as he reached his hand out to her own scattering body. "It won't stop, not until he's dead." She smiled eyes closing before she disappeared.

Watching as he only became far from her, before she was scattered to dance along with the flames in the wind that devoured the town. Turning to look back at what was engulfed, he found the sword that cut through Lillian within his hands, slicing and piercing forward to cut the monster known as Daniel right down the middle.

"No!" Zero reached out his hand towards her, but she faded away, and so did the scenery around him. It all turned back into the reality that was his life this day. The moon shining brilliantly into the room illuminating his weak body. 'I did it! I killed Daniel!' His hand covered his mouth, his world spun, then a burning liquid escaped from his throat. This time he was powerless to stop it, now knowing the truth to his everyday hated past life. It was warm and the taste acidic and sickening.

The man who was known as his father, "That man," Zero gasped before retching once more on the sheets, "He..." Tears came to his eyes, as he remembered the pain, it was real, his own, no matter how brief. "He wasn't my father." Kaname waited patiently for the hunter to wake, every other hour, he'd break into a cold sweat. Body temperature reaching a high fever, and a light whimper that would sometimes reach the peaks of a scream before he finally smelled the retched smell of puke.

Not moving from his place behind the desk, he waited to hear the sound of water running. An inquisitive look coming to his features at the trailed words of the younger vampire, none making much sense.

Turning his gaze from the book in front of him, he almost sighed in relief at hearing the shower water being turned on. Moving fast into the room, he quickly gathered the soiled sheets, disposing of them quickly before replacing them. This being the only time he entered the room once more, temptation was gone.

While in that distressed sleep, he'd witness himself wanting to either comfort the young teen, or simply taste that which was distinctly the silver-haired hunter. A unforgettable smell of mints hidden beneath the cream skin he sure tasted sweet. Gasping, the pureblood removed his wounded finger from his mouth. Placing it there in the moment of thought, the brief pain enough to interrupt them.

Going back into his own room, he waited patiently now for the other to come out, to find him. He had no other choice but to accept the pure blood's gift, and the sooner he'd figure it out, the better it was for all living occupants well-beings.

Now, it was known to a few of the noble vampires just why Zero had to stay close by him, and away from the day class students except for when tending to specific perfect duties. Kaname lost himself in thought, waiting patiently for the silverette to show himself.

A/N: Finally, another chapter done. 15 pages, I was impressed with myself, I just hope it's not redundant. And even more so, that I lost no one in this, rather by confusion, or just plain giving up on this story/fanfic. I just really hope you all can stay with me a bit longer. I promise it will start to develop along a faster pace in the next chapters, and YES! WE'LL ALL FINALLY ENJOY A SLIGHT LEMON/LIME FROM KA/ZE!
