Chapter 10

Alison's POV

We couldn't get Valerie to stop, she was everywhere at once without control of her own body. She was shaking the whole boat and if she didn't stop soon, we would tip over. I scratched my brain trying think of any possible solution on how to get Uranus to stop possessing Valerie. Or at least to stop moving, like to get her to sleep…

'That's it!' I thought as an ancient lullaby came to my head. It was a lullaby that Apollo used to make anyone to fall asleep.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes and started to sing. It wouldn't get her to stop being possessed, but it would get her to fall asleep.

At first when I started Valerie/Uranus just looked confused, but then it start to rock her back and forth and made her eyes droop. I looked around to see everyone else about to fall asleep.

Thankfully, it worked. Val fell down in the boat and the boat stopped rocking. We all watched Val for a while to make sure she stayed there. The boat with the rest of the group slid in next to us. It was rescue boat from the Princess Andromeda.

"I would love to stay and catch up with you guys, but we have to get going" Eva said.

"Okay where to?" Fabian asked.

"I'll lead you to where we have to go," the girl in the white dress said, "and I'm Cameron and that is Sky." She pointed to a boy with bright blue eyes and spikey light brown hair. He waved at us and the started paddling along with Jay.

We followed after them. I took two hours for us to row our way to the island. Cameron said that it was Uranus's headquarters. He had all his battle plans, army and weapons here. Our job was to destroy them. After all if Uranus didn't have any of that, it would be easier to win.

"So how do we get in?" I asked looking around at the people in the boat.

"Well I could shadow travel someone into the armory they could set a Greek fire bomb and then we could shadow travel back" Jay said explaining his plan. I was a good plan…as long as I wasn't involved. I'm not good under pressure and besides I don't know how to set a Greek fire bomb and then there's that little fact that I hate the dark.

Jay looked around waiting to see if anyone would say yes. Everyone looked around not wanting to volunteer. It was silent everyone waiting for someone else, then, finally, someone agreed to go,

"I'll go…as long as I can change into jeans."

When the sun setted and everyone was ready, with backpacks packed and boats ready to paddle and supplies replenished, Jay and Cameron left the boats and shadow traveled to the armory.

Cameron's POV

Jay ran into the shadows with me at his heels. When I reached him he was looking around nervously. He was moving around and wouldn't stand still, I knew something was wrong I could tell and I had to know what it was. After all I am my mother's daughter.

"Jay, what's wrong? Is there something following us?" He didn't answer right away he just looked around, checking.

"I know I'm a child of Nyx but I sense something…something dark…and deadly." He said. That was odd; for a child of Nyx to sense something deadly. But it did make sense to because we were on an island which contained plenty of monsters. I quickly assured him that everything was going to be alright.

That calmed him down. But he still dii one last check around the area before grabbing my hand and plunged into the darkness. His hand was hot and sweaty compared to the cold darkness. There was a tugging force that pulled us out of the darkness and stopped us on the ground next to the armory.

But once the tugging force stopped I was flown forwards into the armory. I tried to protect myself with my hands but my elbows gave out and I came crashing into the wooden wall which I assumed was the armory. I fell to the ground in a heap next to Jay.

"Ow" I said as I grabbed Jay's hand as he pulled me up. He let out a small laugh.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"Nothing just-"he said stopping himself short, "here's your backpack" he said handing me my backpack. I grabbed it from him and dug around a bit. I finally pulled a jar of Greek fire. All I had to do to make it explode was to drop it, unless I made it into a bomb which I didn't have the materials for.

I told Jay about our situation and what he needed to do. As long as he could shadow travel us back in less than a second we'd be fine. If not we'd be dead; high death percentage.

I grabbed the jar firmly and walked a couple yards forward. I took a deep breath and let it out, and then I threw the jar. It exploded the moment it touched the ground the intense heat blazing and lapping out at my skin as I tried to run away.

I could feel the back of my legs being burned. I lunged forward towards Jay and touched his hand giving him the signal to shadow travel. He followed the orders that I had given him earlier, he did it fast without a thought, without even checking to make sure that he was carrying back the same about of people as he took.

And he was gone; just as the second explosion hit. Bigger, hotter, longer and deadlier.
