Natasha POV

Natasha then looked up just as Director Fury approached. Director Fury looked mad, his one eye glowing with anger. Natasha winced and grabbed Percy's hand as Director Fury joined them. Clint was right behind him looking worried. Director Fury then spoke to Percy. "Son, we need to talk with you in SHIELD HQ. Out here there are too many people who might overhear us." Percy nodded. He looked nervous with his large green eyes almost popping out of his skull. That was how big his eyes got when Director Fury had walked up.

The director stared at him and quietly asked, "What did the Kingpin tell you about me, Mr. Jackson?" Percy answered quietly, "The Kingpin said that you didn't care if we were children. That if you found out about us you would have us killed." Natasha winced and spoke softly, "It's not Percy's fault what he was told about us, Director. They told them that stuff so that they wouldn't personally seek us out." Fury nodded and then turned to Percy.

"Son I need to know everything you know but I would prefer that you not talk here where there are prying ears." Percy paused and nodded, "I'll tell you everything I know about the Kingpin and his associates." Then just as Percy was about to get up they heard a voice yell, "Hey Jackson". Natasha spun around and tensed as a gang walked up following Ray. Then Director Fury stood up and said, "Son please leave this is official SHIELD business."

Ray stared at Fury with something akin to fear. He took a step back and then just as Fury was about to ask again Ray and his gang ran off, leaving the SHIELD people standing there dumbfounded. Percy stood up and asked shakily, Can we get this over with?" Fury met his eyes and nodded gently.

Then he and the others led Percy across the street to SHIELD HQ.

Annabeth POV

Annabeth stood calmly as Mike's best scientist talked on and on about the formula that gave people super powers. Annabeth was too busy thinking about where Percy was and if or if not he was in danger. She sighed and laid her head back against the chair she was sitting in. Annabeth turned to glance at Piper and Jason; they were talking quietly to each other probably about her and Percy. Annabeth turned her head away and began to think about when she had first met Percy. That first day nobody had guessed that Percy would betray them to Gaea.

The day that the truth came out Percy denied it and had begged the gods to believe him. Then he had turned to Annabeth and begged her to believe him. She had taken a step back and said, "I don't know you anymore." Such five small words that had changed their lives forever. The gods had dealt out Percy's punishment, his powers were stripped, his demigod scent stripped by Poisiden because no matter what, Percy was the sea gods favorite son and Poisiden didn't want Percy to be hunted and not able to defend himself.

And then Zeus had handed out the worse punishment, Percy could not go to Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter or even lay eyes on his mom or Annabeth ever again. Then Annabeth had run forward and begged Zeus to change his mind. He didn't and Percy was exiled from Olympus that day. As he left the throne room he looked right in Annabeth's eyes and she saw exactly what he felt about her at the moment. The look in his eyes was hurt and betrayed. Then she never saw him again.

Just then busting her out of her thoughts, Ray darted in and shouted, "SHIELD has Percy!"

Percy POV
Percy shuddered as he entered SHIELD, as he did he noticed people staring at him. Natasha touched his arm gently with her hand and guided him toward Fury's office were he would tell Fury everything. When they entered Fury told Natasha and Clint to go. "You've done good work." Then Percy asked softly "Can they stay. I'd feel more comfortable if you let them stay. Fury frowned but nodded. "Tell me your story Percy." He said calmly.

Percy took a deep breath and told Fury about his uncle on his dead dad's side who had threatened him with his mom's life if he ever went near her again. He told them about trying drugs and living on the streets and getting drunk. He told them about the guy who had come into his life and told him about the Kingpin and the job. He described the procedure that had in turn hurt him and made him feel great. He described every assassination he was ordered to carry out by the time he was done, Fury looked sad.

When Fury spoke again his voice was an oath. "Perseus Jackson, welcome to SHIELD." Then Fury handed Percy a badge and said, "You are now an Agent of SHIELD." Percy smiled. "And now," Fury continued. "We take care of the Kingpin once in for all.

Percy's grin was a little poisonous; he would have his revenge against the gods. He had finally figured out why the name Mike Monorston was so familiar: he was a demigod.
