So got an update for you guys! Just a heads up, this doesn't have so much Kazue and Kanda, more Lavi and Tyki. Don't worry, I have more father son moments to come!

Enjoy!

"How do you ask for something?"

The voice of the father was stern, his hand clutching the dark blue block that the little boy was trying to get.

"MMM!"

Sighing deeply, Kanda shook his head as his son tried to smack the toy he wanted out of the hand.

"Hey!" his father's eyes narrowed, "now stop it!"

Pouting in defiance, the boy turned to his other blocks, his hands grabbing the others and stack them.

"Kazue," Kanda encourage, "if you want this you need to ask me for it. Now, what do you say?"

Grunting and anger, the boy tried anew to lunge for the toy he wanted, his hands trying to grab it from his father who in turn pulled it away, his own face determined.

"Hello? Kanda?"

Both dark heads turned to the sound of the voice, Kanda still keeping vigilant over his son.

"We're in the living room," Kanda responded as he looked to his boy, Lavi's bright red hair visible as he rounded the corner.

"Hey," the other nodded, "and hello Kazue! How are you?"

"Having a bad day," the Japanese murmured, his head resting on the couch cushion from his seat on the ground, "it's times like these I miss Allen the most."

"Yeah?"

"He might not have had the patience of a Saint, but it was greater than mine," Kanda admitted, "how are you two doing?"

"Fine," the redhead shrugged, "wanted to ask you something."

"About what?" Kanda asked, wondering as he had already caved and gave Lavi and Tyki a key to his house just as they had given him theirs.

"Well… see, Tyki and I… we're thinking of going away for a weekend," Lavi admitted, "so… would you mind looking after Liliana in that time?"

"Oh," the other murmured, his eyes flickering to his own baby, "sure… I guess."

"It's just," Lavi swallowed thickly, "see… Tyki and I haven't really been intimate in a while…"

"How long is a while?"

The red head paused, his eyes glancing to Kazue, the boy seemingly too engrossed in his own game and toys.

"Since Allen died…"

Kanda looked at the other blankly, his throat forcing down the lump as Lavi pressed on.

"See… I don't know… we just sort of… crumbled when that happened," he shrugged, "Tyki took up smoking again and I just didn't feel like doing anything and when we both got back on our feet I just… I dunno… I guess I just felt guilty."

"Why would you feel guilty?"

"I just did," the other confessed, "then we adopted Lily and well… you know how babies are…"

"Well… sure," Kanda sighed, "I'd love to have her over. She can probably use Kazue's crib since he's moving on to his big boy bed-"

Lavi grinned as the elder smacked his forehead, catching himself in his slip-up.

"Damn."

"Ah, Welcome, Kanda Yuu, to the baby talk," Lavi's arm spread wide, "join us…"

"Bite me," Kanda snapped, "I just… I've got fill both Allen's role and mine… sometime I get lost…"

"I get it," the other nodded as he stood, "and… thanks…"

"If Allen were still with us, we'd have done the same," the Japanese murmured, "I understand."

Nodding his thanks once more, Lavi waved goodbye to the other two before he slipped out the door in the November chill.

The part Lavi had left out was it wasn't Tyki that wasn't interested in intimacy, it was him. Every time the elder rolled over to run his fingers down his back or walk behind him and slip his arms around the waist and lips planted on the back of the younger's neck Lavi found some sort of excuse and move away, running like the little rabbit he was nicknamed for.

Now, the weekend promised him no escapes, and nowhere for him to run, something he was thankful for. He was, however, nervous about missing his baby girl though he trusted Kanda with their treasure.

Thankfully, he did not cry as he passed off the baby girl to his friend, Lily the one whimpering in protest as both her fathers kissed her forehead.

Silence was the theme for the night, the hour-long drive up to the small retreat filled with only a few words, even when they got ready for dinner and had checked into their suite.

Dinner was also a rather quiet affair, Lavi looking at anything but Tyki, who was watching his partner with interest. The silence, to the younger, was becoming slowly uncomfortable, though the reason was not something he felt ready to confront.

"Is everything okay?"

The green eyes jerked up to the gold, his fork touching the chicken.

"Oh, yeah," Lavi murmured, "just… mind's in places…"

"So talk," Tyki encouraged him, "that's what this getaway is about."

"When we get back to the room," his eyes flicked to the guests around him laughing and chatting with their significant others, his green eyes lingering eyes on a little girl eating with her family.

"Miss her?" the elder inferred correctly, Lavi sighing as he nodded.

"Yeah," the redhead speared the chicken, "you?"

"Of course," Tyki nodded, "she's been our life for almost a year now."

"Another year gone by," Lavi murmured, "another year without him."

Saying nothing, the elder gestured to their waiter, grabbing their check before he and Lavi retired to their room, the red head bowed even when they were alone.

"Lavi-"

"I'm going to bed," the redhead started, "is that alright?"

"No."

The emerald eyes were surprised as they turned to look at the elder, his arms crossed over his chest and his face stern.

"No more running, no more hiding, you tell me here and now, what's going on."

Lavi stood in shock before his shoulders sagged and he sighed deeply, his body sinking to sit on the edge of the bed, his tears pricking at his eyes.

"Lavi?"

He said nothing as he tried to hide his tears from his eyes.

"You alright?" the elder asked, his hands on the mattress as he tried to look his lover in the eyes, concern in his golden orbs.

"Y-Yeah," Lavi sniffled, "I'm fine."

"You were crying," Tyki pointed out, "come on, tell me what's going on."

"I-I just," the redhead bleated out a quiet laugh, "am I ever gonna stop feeling guilty?"

"What do you have to feel guilty about?"

"I-It's," Lavi swallowed thickly, "we left our baby girl… just to be alone-"

"Every parent does that," Tyki grinned, his finger touching the other's chin, "so, aside from this… why do you feel guilty?"

"Well-"

"From the beginning please."

Lavi swallowed, half hating the elder's ability to read him like his favorite novel.

"Wh… When Allen died… I lost my best friend," the redhead whispered, "and I felt… like I couldn't get back on my feet… like I wasn't me anymore," he swallowed thickly, "you-you also seemed to vanish. You went back to smoking and barely came home and-and I was so scared we were gonna break up-"

"But we didn't," Tyki murmured, "and you told me you'd rather suck an ashtray than kiss me when I smoked, so I quit again and then any sort of move I'd make on you you'd move away or say no or-"

"B-Because," Lavi protested weakly, "b-because… I-I felt… guilty…"

"Why?" the elders head tilted, "because we're together… and they're not?"

"A bit," the other gulped, "and-and i-it feels like… if we started going b-back to normal then-then it was like Allen didn't matter or-or-"

Firm lips cut him off as Tyki kissed him, his long fingers around the tearful face.

"You think too damn much," Tyki whispered as he pushed his young lover back to the mattress, the green eyes looking up at him. "We won't forget him," the golden eyes looked down at the other, "but us doing this isn't disrespectful to his memory... yeah he hated the idea but this was always just the two of us, it was, is, personal," his nose lowered to brush over the creamy throat, "very personal."

"Tyki…"

Green eyes fluttered shut as lips kissed his flesh and fingers plucked and pulled at his clothes, his pale skin exposed to the lustful eyes.

Every worry, every thought, every nagging guilt vanished at the touch of the skin on his, the lips crushing his mouth filled with passion and lust.

Soon, Lavi had stripped himself of his shirt, becoming almost as engaging as Tyki was. Straddling over the strong thighs, the pale hands around the tan neck as he kissed and tasted his lover, the hands pressing into is back and shoulders with care.

"Missed you," Tyki whispered over the smooth skin, "welcome back."

"Sorry I left," Lavi murmured, his lips pressing to the other's as his back landed with a thump on the mattress, the lips searching the pale skin.

Soon they had become totally naked, and lips had found their way to the creamy thighs, the long fingers teasing and stretching the other.

"Tyki," the younger whispered, "please don't tease me…"

"It'll hurt-"

"No it won't," Lavi shook his head, "not if it's you…"

Smirking slightly, Tyki pulled the younger into his lap, his lips releasing a groan as he buried himself inside his lover, the younger clawing at his back as he moved his hips with Tyki's. Pleasure coursed through Lavi's veins as he moaned in delirium, his partner enjoying their physical contact just as much.

Because of their abstinence, it was apparent that the two of them did not last long, Lavi's fingers digging through the silken strands and clutching as he arched into the other's body, his own tightening around the other's member.

In their aftermath, both seemed to still, their lungs extending as they panted, Lavi's head turning to look up at the stars peeking out through the curtains, the silver reminiscent of the eyes that smiled as he laughed. For some reason, though he hoped not now, he found comfort in the idea that, while he would dedicate most of his time over his own family, Allen probably kept an eye out for them too.

Slowly, the body rolled over to lie beside him, his own eyes to the ceiling.

"Wow…" Lavi breathed after a moment, his partner beside him nodding dumbly.

"Didn't think we had that in us anymore," Tyki murmured softly, the redhead giggling quietly in response.

"Tyki," the younger started, his form rolling to rest on the tanned chest.

"Hmm?" gold eyes flickered to look at his lover, "what is it? How do you feel?"

"Good," Lavi admitted, "a little sore like always-"

"And the guilt?"

Green eyes glanced to the elder, his orbs flickering as he searched the gold.

"The only guilt I feel is leaving our baby girl to do this," he smiled softly, "but… I guess I overreacted…"

"We both lost an extremely close friend," Tyki kissed him tenderly, "he helped us meet, he was always there for you," his fingers ran through the copper strands, "you didn't overreact. I understand."

"Still…"

The head of dark hair turned, his lips pulling into a smirk.

"Tired so soon?" he teased.

"Yeah," Lavi whispered, his emerald eyes fluttering closed, "let me sleep…"

Nodding silently, lips pressed against the copper strands as the younger drifted off to a deep sleep.

Crowds of people milled around the bar, various couples chatting and kissing and touching, the bar known for its open policy.

"Thanks for letting me do this," Allen had smiled nervously as they slipped into the Royal Oak paneled bar, his hands pulling off his scarf.

"You've spent like a week helping me out," Lavi grinned, "you two should get some alone time."

"With you there," the younger finished off, laughing with Lavi.

"Of course!"

Shaking his white hair, Allen looked over the tops of heads for the long dark hair, his smile widening at the sight of their mutual friend. Standing alone as the young man ran to his lover, Lavi's happy smile faded, his eyes looking to the bar for a drink, trying not to let envious thoughts roam his mind as he saw the two of them engaged in deep conversation.

His relationship had ended horribly, brushed off like he was nothing.

"Is this seat taken by your friend?"

Red hair turned to meet brilliant gold eyes and a deadly but seductive smirk. The other was tall and looked well-muscled. His curly hair ran around his face and only grazed the tops of his shoulders.

"Um… n-no," Lavi turned around, swallowing thickly as he tried to indicate he wasn't interested though the stranger was.

"Are you with him?" the other pressed, his eyes watching the young man beside him.

"With… oh, yeah, he's with me," Lavi stammered, trying to smile kindly at the handsome elder while the golden eyes flickered to the other.

"Really?" he smirked, "well, you might want to break up with him; cheating never works out in monogamous relationships."

"H-Huh-"

Lavi turned to see the younger lean against the darkened corner of the bar, his hands over pale cheeks while Kanda shoved his tongue into Allen's mouth, the other's leg sliding up and down the strong calf.

"Ah," the redhead blushed, "right…"

"Unless… it's not monogamous…"

"They're... they're just good friends," Lavi smiled up at the stranger before looking back to the other two only to see Allen be lifted up in strong arms, his knees slowly creeping up the other's hips, "very, very… very good friends…" his green eyes were almost pitiful as he looked to the other, his shoulders sagging, "I'm busted… aren't I?"

"Quite," the dark eyebrow rose seductively, "so… is there something wrong with me for you to lie like that?"

"I just… this isn't a gay bar or anything, so I'm none too keen on being someone's dare or test ride."

"Fair," his long body leaned on the bar, his long fingers running over the back of the other's hand, "so… you'd be open to an experienced driver?"

Rendered speechless, Lavi just stared blankly at the other, his green eyes looking at the deep gold.

"Or, have you been burned once before?"

The black hair tilted as he hit his mark, Lavi now appearing uncomfortable as he swallowed thickly.

"I-I've been with guys that-that after the… that… they told me to sleep with my back to them… told me I look more like a woman like that…"

"And most recently?"

Green eyes turned to the other's deep gold, unsure what made him pour his heart out to a complete stranger.

"After three months, he told me he wasn't into guys," he bleated out a soft laugh, "three, freaking, months, and all I get is 'I don't really like men'; jackass."

"Did you ever have sex?" the elder asked, his lips catching the rim of his glass.

"Oh yes," Lavi nodded, "and he was very into men."

"And so am I," he grinned, his hand pulling the pale wrist towards him, "now," where he had procured the black marker Lavi hadn't a clue, "I expect a call from you within three days," his writing was, in a word, immaculate, even on skin, "if I don't," his gold eyes met the other's seductively, "I'll ask Allen what's taking so long."

"Wh-What-"

In the few seconds Lavi had turned to the younger before back to the handsome stranger, the tall form had moved back through the crowd, his hands in his pockets and his hair in a ponytail hanging down his back.

"H-Hey-"

"Name's Tyki," Lavi managed to overhear, "Tyki Mikk."

Limbs shuffled under the blankets as the sleeping young man woke, his arms spread over the mattress and his cheek to the pillow. Stirring from his dream, the younger pulled his body up, curious as to why he was alone in the large bed.

Lavi pulled his torso up off the white mattress, his eyes flickering to find his elder in the kitchen, his fingers dipping a spoon into the bowl of Hollandaise sauce only to drizzle it over four eggs.

"Tyki…"

The gold orbs flickered to look at the waking younger, Lavi flipping over as he tried to wake.

"You'd better stay in bed," Tyki teased softly, "otherwise it defeats the purpose of breakfast in bed."

"No worries there," Lavi murmured, "tired."

"After only one round," the elder grinned as he passed the other his eggs Benedict, "boy have we gotten old."

"Just out of practice," the redhead smiled as his mouth salivated at the smell.

"Well, we have all weekend to rectify that," Tyki murmured as he slipped back underneath the covers, his pants thrown to the floor.

"Can't I finish my breakfast first!?" Lavi squeaked, his partner chuckling.

"Of course," he nodded, "you'll need the energy."

Shivering slightly, the redhead cut into the egg, the golden yolk mixing with the Hollandaise sauce and pouring over the English muffin and bacon.

"Have a good sleep?"

Chewing on his breakfast, the green eyes flickering to the other's as he delved into his own food.

"Yeah," he nodded, "dreamt… dreamt of our first meeting."

"Ah," Tyki nodded, "that…"

"You really scared me when you mentioned Allen," Lavi grinned, "I had no idea."

"I thought he had mentioned knowing me."

"Right," the redhead rolled his eyes, "fess up, you just wanted to see me panic and squirm."

"It is amusing," he admitted, with a grin.

"Well you could have let me in to the fact that you two worked together!"

"Nah," Tyki shrugged, "that's no fun!"

Laughing as he was elbowed, Lavi blushed lightly as he continued to enjoy his breakfast, his smile faltering slightly.

"What's wrong?"

"It just… hits you, you know?" the younger whispered, "almost two years after, it still hurts."

"It'll hurt for a long time," Tyki whispered, "maybe forever."

"I guess," Lavi whispered quietly.

His partner was silent as he lowered his fork to the plate, body adjusting to grab something from the bedside table.

"Here," he murmured, his hands grabbing the fingers and, much to Lavi's confusion, slipped a silver ring on his left hand.

"Tyki?"

"Lavi," Tyki started, his voice husky and deep, his hands cupping the pale cheeks, "if I could, I'd marry you, here and now."

"Tyki…"

"But since we can't," he seemed to swallow his pain, "this ring symbolizes a promise to you that I will be with you for as long as you want me."

"Silly," Lavi laughed, tears pooling in his eyes, "I'll always want you."

Chuckling along with the younger, their lips pressed together, Lavi feeling the love the other had for him.

"It's beautiful," the younger commented as he looked to his ring, the band thick but was akin to a calla lily wrapping around his finger, the metal a dark silver highlighted with lighter touches, "a lily for our Lily?"

"I thought it was fitting," Tyki pulled his lips into the smile that made Lavi's heart hammer madly in his chest.

"Yeah," Lavi nodded, swallowing thickly as he touched his forehead to the other's, "I love you, Tyki…"

"Usually I'm the one to say that first," the elder murmured, "it's a nice change."

Their weekend was, surprisingly, not entirely consumed by sex. Convincing Tyki, the two of them went on walks through the trails, their fingers intertwined as they enjoyed the views. It passed both too quickly and too slowly for them, the two of them missing their baby girl.

"We're back!"

Kanda pulled away as he let the two of them back into his house, Lavi and Tyki seemingly more refreshed and relaxed then when they left.

"How was it?"

"Good," Lavi nodded as he looked up to Tyki, "great. We missed our baby girl though."

"Not for much longer," Kanda smirked as he moved towards the living room, "guess who's here Liliana."

Tyki smiled as Lavi beamed, his body dropping to his knees with his arms open wide for his giggling baby girl to crawl towards him.

"Come here Lily! Come to daddy!"

Laughing, she was pulled into his arms, Kanda distracted by his own son that had put his hands on the armrest of his wheelchair.

"Did you miss us? Huh? Did you miss us?"

"Did you guys want some tea before you go?" Kanda asked as Lavi crooned and spoke to his child.

"If you don't mind," Tyki nodded, "Lavi?"

"Yes please," he smiled, his arms still around his baby girl as she reached for Tyki, "what's this? Do you want your pai? Do you want your pai?"

"Pai?"

"It means dad in Portuguese," the elder informed Kanda, "it's how we distinguish each other."

Nodding in understanding, Kanda turned to his son, informing him softly that he should go play for a bit while they sat and talked. Liliana, upon seeing Kazue involved in his toys, wanted to join him, something her pai allowed.

"So? How was she?" Lavi asked as he sat to his own cup of tea, Kanda looking over the rim of his cup.

"She was good," Kanda murmured, "well-behaved, playful-"

"NO! MINE!"

"When kept away from Kazue."

Confused, both Lavi and Tyki rounded the corner to see the children sitting in the center of the rug, Kazue holding out what looked to be a his toy train while Lily, in her usual manner, seemed torn between fighting him for it and crying.

"Kazue!" Kanda barked, startling both the children and the couple, "what have I said about sharing!?"

"But is MINE!" the boy tried to protest, only to be interrupted by a little girl's fists hitting his arm.

"MEANIE!" she shrieked, Kazue flinching away from her fists.

"FINE!"

Throwing down his toy in defiance, the child stomped away to his room, the little girl falling to her stomach without support.

"So, that dream you had about the two kids growing up and marrying," Kanda looked up to the other, "they don't seem to agree with it."

"No, they do not," Tyki agreed as he watched his daughter turn from the object they had been fighting over. "What time is it?"

"Too early to start drinking," the Japanese grumbled, his head in his hand, "the teenage years are going to be Hell."

"We need to get through the terrible two's first," Lavi interjected, "we might not make it to the teen years," he turned to the man sitting in the wheelchair, "we'll take her home then."

"Right," Kanda nodded, "if you give Kazue a moment to calm down, I'll get him to apologize."

"Don't worry about it," Tyki shook his head, "they're kids."

"Yeah, but I'd rather he learn he can't get away with it," the other murmured, "if you're leaving now, I'll go get him."

Nodding, both fathers moved towards the front hall, Lavi smiling as he adjusted the pink coat over his baby girl as Kazue followed his own father towards them, his lips set in a pout.

"Come on Kazue," Kanda encouraged softly, "what do you say?"

"Nngg…"

"Kazue. Do you want me to take away your toys?"

Clearly disgruntled at his father's threat, the boy stood shuffling in front of the three of them.

"Sorry…"

"Thank you," Kanda sighed, "now, say goodbye."

"Bye-Bye!"

"And bye-bye to you too," Lavi nodded as the child was put in his father's lap, the strong arms around his middle, his face of displeasure vanishing as he snuggled up to the one person that mattered most, "eh Lily? Bye-bye!"

"Buh-bye," she waved, her other finger still to her mouth, "buh-bye."

"We'll see you soon," Kanda murmured.

"Course," Lavi grinned, "and thanks… Kanda… for everything."

"Just repaying the favour," the father smiled down at his son, "it's what Allen would do."

Soo... What do you think? The next chapter I might skip a year or two, gotta get to the growing up ^^
