Tom Riddle P.O.V
We tumble back into Slughorn's office, Bliss looking slightly dazed, staring, fascinated, at the Pensieve. I hide a smile, ignoring the sour taste in my mouth and the voice echoing around my head.
You only showed her what you wanted her to see. Poor, ickle, Tom Riddle.
She turns to me and smiles, blowing hair out of her eyes with slightly chapped lips. "You should've told me, Tom." She hugs her elbows, dancing on the balls of her feet. "I wouldn't have treated you any differently."
"But I didn't know that," I say, shoving my hands in my pockets. "I'm used to being on my alone; I wanted to leave that all behind me, make a new life for myself."
Yes, but I doubt she'd see your 'good life' as a great investment.
I shake my head slowly. "I just wanted to be ordinary."
"Well, you can't exactly be ordinary when you got to a school that specializes in teaching children magic!" She lets out a bark of laughter, rolling her eyes slightly at her. I grin.
"You can try-"
She cuts across me. "But it doesn't always work. Especially when you're friends with someone who can read you like a book."
I blink at her, my lips twitching slightly at the corners. "So, does that mean I'm forgiven?"
She flushes slightly. "Well, I suppose so," She says dramatically, fighting a smile, "but you'd better buy me another book, Riddle."
I laugh, my hands acting before my brain has time to function, and pull her against my chest, wrapping my arms around my shoulders. My skin bubbles beet red as she freezes stiffly in surprise, before folding her arms around my waist, enveloping jerself into the embrace. I grin into her hair.
Nicely done, Tom.
"Just, promise me something." She pulls back slightly, locking me into one of those cool blue stares of hers. "Never keep secrets from me again."
I smile at her sheepishly, pulling her back into the hug. "I promise."
My fingers twist like a lock atop her shoulder, and malice beginds to burn in the depths of my eyes again.
