You know at some point I will have to stop letting my guard down and stuff because this is some bullshit.
I screamed in pain and fell to the ground with Reyna still in my arms.
"Peter? Peter?!" Reyna screamed as my vision went fuzzy.
It felt like broken glass was crawling all over my spine and the rest of my bones.
"G-G-Get...Jason." I managed to choke out as I was gasping for air.
Reyna nodded and took off to find the son of Jupiter.
It was maybe five seconds later that I heard a very loud "Where is he?"
Jason was next to me and he looked incredibly worried.
"What happened?" Jason asked as he helped me up, still wincing in pain.
"Poison on the arrow? Shit! Why didn't we check for that?" Reyna said next to him.
"A-At l-l-l-least...only m-mine..was p-p-poisoned." I managed to say trying to stop myself from blacking out.
Dakota saw us and bolted to my side with an Apollo kid.
"Get him to a bed." the Apollo kid, Bobby said.
They set me down and I tried to focus on one thing as Bobby cleaned my wound to get rid of the poison.
I ended up staring right into Reyna's eyes and you know what? I would have been totally fine if I died and that was the last thing I ever saw.
"Hang in there Peter." I heard Jason say.
Suddenly my vision cleared and I felt fine. Better than ever actually.
"There we go." Bobby said as he backed away pale and looking exhausted.
"Are you okay man?" I asked Bobby.
He nodded and gave me a weak smile.
"I'll be fine but you should probably get ready." he responded.
"What? Why?" I asked looking at Jason and Reyna.
"Reyna didn't tell you?" Dakota asked confused.
"I was getting to it Dakota." Reyna snapped.
Reyna turned to me.
"My promotion to Praetor was because we are going to war. Today." Reyna explained shakily.
I nodded and then with my body felling better got right out of the bed and pulled out my pocketknife.
"Let's do this." I said activating my armor and weapons.
"I love this guy!" Dakota said steering me towards the forum for the war briefing.
After the briefing which I think I fell asleep in as did Jason we got into the Camp Jupiter vans and headed toward Mt. Tam.
I rode on Stratus who apparently reformed into my ring with Jason behind me and Reyna on Skippy next to me.
"How are we doing this?" I asked.
"Most of the camp has already engaged the army we just need to stop Krios. Apparently something happened to Hyperion and he is furious." Jason quickly explained.
"Got it Gracey boy." I said with a smirk and dive bombed the army.
Stratus struck the ground with such force i'm surprised that I didn't hear "Stratus SMASH!"
Most of the army and even a few campers were thrown free and the monsters broke into dust while the campers were probably pretty pissed.
Stratus dissolved and Skippy took off.
"LEGION!" I yelled.
"WE FIGHT FOR ROME! WE FIGHT FOR THE GODS!" I yelled at the top of my lungs and about a thousand demigods roared in agreement.
"CHARGE!" I ordered and the entire Roman camp advanced on the army.
It was absolute pandemonium.
I caught a glimpse of Dakota smacking guys over the head with his flask.
I saw Jason blasting guys with lightning and Reyna slicing guys apart with her dagger.
Every once and a while Skippy would come down and kick a monster to dust that looked like it was threatening Reyna.
Great I have some competition for her heart, and it's a fucking horse!
I also saw that any monster that got too close to the garden was snatched up by Ladon.
Maybe he wasn't all bad.
I started slicing and cutting down anything in my way and tried to make my towards Reyna and Jason.
Every guy I hit was turned to ice and shattered as if they never existed.
Finally I reached my friends.
"Took you long enough Sane." Jason said with a smirk as he cut down a Lastrygonian.
"Well I was busy." I said as I hit a demigod in the head with my sword knocking him out.
"We need to find Krios now!" Reyna yelled over the battle.
I nodded and quickly summoned Stratus to carry us to the fortress.
"You miserable whelps! Kill them or I will skin you alive and feed you to Ladon myself!" Krios roared.
We could see Krios in his starry armor looking pretty pissed as he gazed down over the battlefield.
Krios looked up at us and seemed to get madder.
"SHOOT THEM DOWN!" he screamed.
Archers took positions and fired a trillion of arrows.
I knew we were going to die but I wish I did instead of the alternative.
Stratus bucked up and we fell off no matter how hard we held on.
The three of us landed on a balcony a floor below Krios and looked up to see my horse.
"Stratus!" I yelled and he looked at me.
I could see the sadness in his eyes.
Then the arrows pierced him and he exploded into a large white cloud, tearing apart the towers and bringing the archers and sentries down with them.
"NOOOOO!" I screamed with tears in my eyes.
Something fell in front of me and I picked it up.
It was another diamond ring like the one I wore but it seemed brighter.
"Stratus." I said in a whisper as tears fell down my face.
"Peter I am so sorry." Jason said as he grabbed my shoulder.
"H-He gave his life up to save us." I said through tears.
"We would be dead if it wasn't for him." Reyna said sadly.
I stared at the ring and sobbed as Jason and Reyna wrapped their arms around me.
Anger welled up inside me.
"Reyna, I need you to take out any guards that will stop Jason from reaching Krios. Jason your fighting Krios." I explained.
"What about you?" Reyna and Jason asked in unison.
I was breathing heavily and gazed at the garden until I saw what I needed.
"I'm going to rip Krios limb from limb!" I said.
I shot off the balcony and willed the winds to carry me to the garden.
I did NOT feel good about how I did this but it was necessary.
I grabbed the bloody sword of a fallen soldier and was feeling guilty about it but I was done being nice.
Krios was going to pay.
I used some wind to levitate the sword in front of Ladon who looked very happy and full.
The sword got within range of his nose and all hundred head turned toward it. I used this to quickly jump on Ladon's back and create a cloud harness.
After about fifteen terrible minutes I finally had all his heads harnessed and was able to keep him under my control.
I snapped the reigns and Ladon surged forward towards the Titan army.
I have never heard anything funnier than thousands of monsters and demigods screaming like little girls.
Ladon smashed into the army with full force and ate everything in his sight.
Thank the gods that all the Camp Jupiter soldiers were behind me.
Ladon was a monster...Um, metaphorically speaking...Well, I guess because he's a dragon...Oh you know what I mean.
He smashed and ate and then repeated until we reached the doors of the fortress.
"KRIOS! SURRENDER OR DIE!" I yelled up at the balcony.
Krios appeared holding two demigods.
Jason and Reyna.
"You surrender or they die." Krios ordered.
He had his hand around both of their necks and he looked to be holding them pretty tight.
I lowered my sword and was about to give in when Skippy came out of nowhere and kicked Krios in the head making him drop Reyna but he held on to Jason.
Skippy grabbed Reyna and took off leaving Krios bleeding and disoriented.
Jason kicked Krios in the shin and Krios dropped Jason.
I took this chance to attack, I snapped the reigns and Ladon broke the doors right off of the hinges and brought them toppling on about half of the rest of the army.
Ladon broke through the fortress, tearing apart anything that was in his path.
Eventually we made it to the terrace where Jason and Krios were fighting.
I willed the harness to a slab of rock and ran up to the two.
"Hey Krios how's the head? That door must have scrambled you." I said with a smirk as I drew Frostbite.
"That was you? You will suffer a thousand deaths." Krios yelled.
"Not likely Starry." Jason said.
"Starry? Starry! you dare call the Lord of Constellations Starry?" Krios screamed absolutely outraged.
"Yep." I simply stated and together me and Jason charged Krios.
We fought on for what felt like days, it was really only about twenty minutes.
"I am a Titan! You cannot defeat me." Krios declared.
"You probably should have thought of that before you killed MY HORSE!"I screamed as I swung my sword and broke his javelin in two.
"Impossible!" Krios said shocked.
Jason jumped and kicked him in the chest.
Krios went flying back into the black throne.
"You can't win. No demigod can defeat me." Krios stated as he struggled to get up.
Jason smirked "Yeah, but he is definitely not a demigod."
Krios looked up confused and screamed as Ladon smashed all of his heads against the throne and sent it toppling right on top of the Titan.
Krios was no more after that.
"That's that then." I said as I sheathed Frostbite.
Jason and basically everyone else looked utterly exhausted, even Ladon.
After the death of Krios we all went back to camp, well me and Jason stayed to bring Ladon back to his tree.
"See you around boy." I said when we were out of eating distance.
"Well, we did it Sane." Jason said with a smile.
I put my arm around his shoulder and put him in a choke hold.
"Yeah we did Gracey boy." I said with a laugh.
Little did I know that this was just the beginning.
