AN2: Hey! I want to say I'm still here and I'm still around. This story will be finished, it's just going to be slow. Work and life and love and all that. :) Also, me and the hubby are trying to get pregnant. The next chapter is being written, I'm trying to get it done as soon as possible. There aren't enough Destiel moments in the show at the moment. Send me some inspiration? Lol. Here or ngelsandlionsandtimelords-ohmy on Tumblr.

It had been a few weeks since the last incident with Julie and Castiel was doing okay being alone in the house, he had started locking the door and when he got home from work he didn't answer it without looking out the peephole first. His problem now was the way Dean continued to act.

Dean had been more silent than ever around the angel and Castiel just couldn't put his finger on what was going on. When Dean was home, the hunter stalked around the house with his jaw locked tight and his bow legs even bowier than usual. Castiel was at the end of his rope and couldn't figure out how to handle the situation.

He had thought about mentioning it to Dahlia, but the part that had him the most confused was the part he couldn't tell her about.

Dean, on the other hand, didn't really know he was hurting Castiel and he didn't want to either, he was just fighting with some feelings and had to deal with them like a Winchester. Of course, he couldn't pour holy water on his feelings or shoot them full of iron so he was stuck in perpetual Dean face with no way out.

Dean knew he was upset that Julie had tried to kiss Castiel. He could understand himself as far as being angry for show or being angry that some lady had mouth-raped one of his best friends. What he couldn't understand was the other thing he felt. This deep burn that started at the pit of his throat and twisted itself deep down into the very pit of his heart. It was sadness and anger all at once and it made him want to vomit. He almost had. But really, what was it all about?

That was the entire range of his thoughts for the last few weeks and there was nowhere to put the thoughts. He couldn't talk to Sam or Bobby. He couldn't talk to Cas. He couldn't talk to anyone but his brain and the only one in there was him and some residual John Winchester which was less than helpful in this situation.

So there they were, in their perfect white living room, Castiel playing with the cats while Dean was playing Call of Duty and the room was silent and uncomfortable.

The anxiety in Castiel's chest was overwhelming him and he had decided earlier that he was going to at least attempt a civil conversation that evening.

"Dean?" He spoke for the first time since Dean had returned from work.

"Yeah, Cas?" Dean paused his game and looked over to the angel.

Castiel smiled, "What would you like for dinner tonight?"

Dean thought for a moment before answering, "Pizza."

"I can learn to make pizza." Cas said with a nod.

"No, Cas." Dean said with a small smile, "You cook all the time. I want to order out."

"I can be okay with that." Cas said, preparing to stand up from the couch. Before he had time to walk to the kitchen to find a menu, there was a loud whooshing sound and the electricity in the house went out.

"What the hell?" Dean said, his eyebrows raised.

"I don't know." Cas replied, "It might have something to do with that storm we were supposed to have today. That wind sounded a bit violent."

"Aww, damn. I was looking forward to pizza." Dean's bottom lip fell.

Cas' visibly relaxed, as this was the most normal conversation he'd had with Dean in quite some time.

"Don't worry." Cas said with a smile, "We have a gas stove. I can heat up some left overs for us. Do you want to watch something while we eat?"

Castiel waited, hopeful for Dean's answer. He needed a normal night so bad. He ached for it.

"Sure. I'll get that set up. You get the dinner." Dean told him before heading upstairs to find the portable dvd player.

Castiel headed to the kitchen and pulled out some leftovers of steak, roasted vegetables, and some rice. He made two plates, took them into the living room, and sat them on the coffee table. He was about to sit down and wait for Dean when he had a thought. Going back into the kitchen he grabbed a bottle of red wine and some wine glasses and took them into the living room as well.

He sat down on the floor in front of the couch and made room for the small player on the coffee table in between their plates. Then, he poured the wine for both of them and waited for Dean to come back.

It was only a few seconds after that Dean arrived with the player, setting it down in the place Cas had made for it and turned it on.

"I hope you don't mind, I picked a few movies." Dean said, glancing at the food and drinks.

"You know I don't care what we watch, Dean." Castiel said.

"I know. Well, I got a little something called The Fifth Element. Bruce Willis. Man falls in love with this alien chick. Love it."

"Sounds great!" Castiel said, beaming at the sudden break in Dean's silence.

"You got us wine…" Dean asked, his voice trailing off at the end.

"Yes. I hope that's okay."

"Oh yeah. That's fine." Dean replied. Of course it was fine. Why wouldn't it be fine? Unless Dean was having some kind of inner crisis where he thought he could be falling in love with an angel and he couldn't trust himself with alcohol on the brain and a lump was forming in his throat and of course it was fine because nothing like that was going on.

Dean let out a nervous laugh as he sat down beside Castiel at the coffee table and started the movie as the wind roared outside.

Two movies later and in the middle of The Addams Family, the wine bottle was very nearly empty and most of which had been emptied into the garrison's finest. Castiel was completely happy watching Gomez woo Morticia, the plates on the table completely empty, and Dean laughing beside him.

"Can you pass me the bottle, Dean?" Castiel asked.

"I think you've had enough, Cas." Dean said laughing, the bottle setting beside him and out of Castiel's reach, "I think I'll keep this over here."

"I'll be the judge of that." Castiel said, "Gimme."

"No. No. I don't think so."

"I'll just have ta get it myself." Castiel said, getting up and climbing over Dean to get to the bottle. After a lot of movement and Dean trying to wrestle it away playfully, Cas had the bottle and he was straddling Dean's left leg.

The angel took a swig from the bottle, wiped his mouth in victory, and looked down at Dean who was staring straight into his eyes with a heavy blush on his cheeks. Cas' eyes trailed down to see what all the fuss was about and realized that Dean Winchester has a rather large bulge in his pants.

Castiel's mouth fell open as he looked back up in Dean's wide green eyes and the silence crept between them again except this time it was a comfortable silence and it took everything Castiel had in him not to close the short distance to connect their lips.

"Cas… I…" Dean trailed off again, finally speechless. But, it didn't matter, there were no more words and that's all it took for Castiel to gain the courage as their lips met and they kissed each other with the reckless abandon of two people that could no longer stand to be two.
