My 'Innocent' Life (Part 10)
Story #10: Kanda in Dreamland
AN: A Wonderland crossover seems a bit clichéd, don't you think? How about I get more creative?
Life. What does it mean to have one? And what does it mean to lose one? Do I have one... anymore? All I knew was that I was talking, and then I fell asleep. That was all I could remember. I don't seem to remember much of my life... except for that gruesome image. I will never eat beans again. "Are you alright?" I heard somebody say.
"I wonder if he'll wake up..." Another voice ringed through. "You don't think that he..."
"Nah, that's nonsense, I'm sure he'll be fine!"
I wondered who was talking to me there; I had to open my eyes. I slowly opened them and saw two odd people in ship patrol outfits. The place looked very dark and gray, and I happened to be on its bed somehow, but why? "Huh, where am I? Who are you guys?"
"Ah, I guess you've woken up, glad to see that... we are glad that you're awake."
"But you didn't answer my question..."
"Oh right, don't you remember us? We're your shipmates, Lavi and Bookman!" One of them replied. "And that's Jeff steering the ship, even though he's the one who cooks, but we already ate and it was on auto pilot at the time..."
"He must have amnesia from the last battle..." The other one [who was apparently taller] had said to us. "...it most certainly was a rough one you know. Captain, do you feel any pain right now?"
Captain, what is he talking about? "Yeah I guess so, you mean to tell me that I—"
"Was a captain of this ship, yeah I know, I couldn't believe it either..." Lavi shrugged in disbelief.
"You know you're really annoying. Did I ever say that to you when I didn't have this amnesia?"
"Yes."
"You are in your bed now and we wanted to check up on you, so you should get plenty of good rest while we dock for safety, alright?" The bookman said politely.
"Um, yeah, sure thing."
"Good, then we'll see you in a bit."
I watched as they were about to leave the room I was in, but just as they were about to go, suddenly the ship started to shake around like mad. It made a bump and we all fell onto the floor. "What's happening!?" I ask confusingly.
"It appears that they have found us again..." Bookman muttered through his teeth. "Lavi, go and get the supplies ready for battle, oh and make sure that Jeff steers us out of here!"
"Hai, you can count on me mister!" Lavi saluted and he rushed off to get some help.
"Don't worry, it will be all over soon enough..." He turned to me and said with a smile.
"H-how would you know?"
"We've done this before, remember?"
"Uh, no."
"Well we have, but don't worry; it'll be all right—"
"We're gonna crash, hang on to something!" I heard someone scream out as the ship felt like it got hit by something and made a loud thump.
It starts to swerve around as I was having tons of trouble balancing myself to stand on the ship. I quickly crawl over to the table and hang onto it for my life as we all crash down.
.-.-.-.
I open my eyes once more and find myself in a strange looking castle where we apparently made a huge dent on the walls. I looked around and saw Bookman, Lavi, and Jeff unconscious next to the ship; luckily they had apparently got out of the ship okay. I crawl over to try and wake them up and see if they've survived the crash.
"Hey, are you guys ok?" I said softly. "Speak to me, say something! Don't tell me you guys are..."
"No... We're fine." Bookman coughed.
"It seems likely that we have been attacked again and have been shot down to here." Lavi added.
"I'm going to go and check up on the others to see if they are alright, Lavi you keep an eye on him and make sure that he escapes safely."
"I got it sir, I won't let you down!" He saluted as he and I watched Bookman rush off to check on the others. He turned to me and smiled. "Ok then, so do you know where we can get out of here partner?"
"How the hell should I know? Weren't you supposed to do that for me?" I retorted at him.
"Jeez Louise, you're as stubborn as always, come on let's go find a way out of this together..."
"Um, alright then?"
"HOLY CRAP WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!?" A female with purple-ish hair and a yellow, red, and blue robe comes stomping over to see the wreckage around the room. "What the heck happened here? Why is my wall destroyed?"
"Ah Queen Lenalee, how nice to see you again!"
"Oh, it's you. Why the hell are you here?"
"Well we came from the wall—"
"I know that but why were you there?"
"We had gotten attacked by them again and we had crashed on to this castle of yours... our bad."
"So, this place has a Queen? I didn't know that." I replied.
"What do you mean? Haven't we met before?"
Lavi boasted. "Yeah, he's the Meta Knight named Y—"
"Queen Lenalee, we have a major problem!" A tall midget guy with a bandana on his head runs over to see us up close and bows to her.
"What? What seems to be the problem Bandana Komui?" She asked in response.
"We've been invaded again... our cakes are being stolen!"
Invaded? I pondered over the fact that maybe the same people who had attacked us before could possibly be attacking them now.
"What, again!? Well shouldn't you go and do something about it? I mean don't just stand there and let them do it do something!"
"Good idea ma'am just wanted to let you about it beforehand..."
Lenalee grunted as she and Komui rush off to find the culprit while Lavi snuck me out of the castle while this was going underway.
.-.-.-.
I continued to look around the place and stare at the sights. The columns and pillars in this place were huge, the carpets were rich and lively, and the portraits of the Queen were... rather creepy, but still it was impressive... sort of.
"Cool place, isn't it?" Lavi asked me while I was distracted by whatever it was I had gotten distracted from.
"Huh? Oh, yeah I guess it is, though it's not as cool as the one in your guys' ship."
"You mean OUR ship? You thought up the interior and exterior for the design on that bad boy, in fact you're actually the leader of the tribe. Pretty cool, huh? But make sure you don't tell Lee Lee about what you just said back there..."
"Why, cause she'll get angry?"
"Well duh."
It figures.
.-.-.-.
I had found my way out of the castle and me and Lavi walk out of it with ease. As we did, we noticed Lenalee and Komui were continuing to scream for some odd reason, they must be catching the cake thief too. That made me wonder, why can't we just help them take care of the thief whom stole the treats in the castle? I ponder, is it because it's none of our concern? But he could be the one who attacked us from before... or is the leader of the gang that ordered them to attack us.
"Hey you, get back here!" Lenalee called out.
Just then I felt a thump by some guy who jumped on my head as he leaped around with a cake and plate in his hands and a spoon in his mouth. Then I saw a boy flying across the grounds with the yummy snack. He had short lengthen spiky hair that was white like the clouds up above in the sky, red eyes like a cherry, and clothes that were pink as his cheeks. He looked over and noticed me; he gave me a tiny smile and a wink. "Long time no see, BaKanda Knight!" He exclaims as he makes a perfect landing on his two feet.
"BaKanda, he knows my name? Is that my name?" I turn to Lavi and asked him.
"Eh, technically it's your nickname, your real name is Kanda, but I like to call you by your first name Yu." He replied with a sweat drop.
"I don't like it; I prefer to be called Kanda..."
"Screw you too?"
I noticed the white haired boy turned to me with concern and worry. I wonder if we met before, it seems very familiar to me. "Is there something wrong? You usually get upset when I mentioned your nickname..." He tilted his head.
"Oh, you mean I wasn't supposed to like it?"
"Komui, other bandana dees, don't let him get away!" Lenalee screamed from across the castle.
"Hai onee-chan!"
"And don't call me that please!"
"Gomenasai!"
"Uh oh, we better get going..." The pink boy went over to grab my arm and ran in the opposite direction.
"Hey, where are you taking me?" I said while trying to keep up with him.
"Away from them, nothing more or less. My name's Allen by the way, but everyone just calls me Ally for whatever reason."
"Um, do you like the nickname?"
"Eh, not really no. Hey you want some cake?"
"Not really, you should watch where your going though."
"Daijobu, I'll be alright."
"Whoa what's that?" I point at the sky noticing it changing different colors.
Allen turns to look and trips on a rock which prompts him to fall over to his face. The cake flies out of his grasp and lands on some grass and a plate. "Well thank goodness the cake didn't get ruined." He muttered from the stuff in his mouth. He gets up and dusts himself off before taking back the cake with the plate on it.
We then see what was going on and why it was happening: apparently the sun and moon are colliding against one another for no reason. How can we stop them from destroying the world though?
Then, we see a complete stranger walking towards us. "The sun and moon are fighting." He said.
"Well, yeah we can see that, but why are they fighting?" I respond.
"Nobody knows, but there is a way you can stop them from doing so... simply go to the one who wishes for things known as The Pearl and ask it to grant your wish. But be very specific or else it will backfire!"
"How do we get there exactly?"
"By taking to the night sky of course..."
"We got it, now let's go." Allen exclaimed.
"But how—" I try to ask but then he got out his cell phone with a star antenna and dialed a number.
After putting it away a giant warp star shows up and lifts us off of our feet, taking us to our destination. "Trust me, its best not to question it."
"Uh, okay?"
"Alright, now let's get going, take us there warp star!"
"OH YEAH!" I heard a voice.
"Did it just... talk?" I stutter... I think.
"Like I said before, do not question..."
"Fine... but do you even know where this Pearl guy even is?"
"Nope, no clue, but this star does. Hang on!"
.-.-.-.
He swerves the star side to side, making me feel a little bit nauseous at points, as we started to zoom past the speed of light past the sun and moon under the stars. We reach out of the planet and start floating around in the space, there we could see billions and billions of tiny little star and comets circling around the place we left, which for some reason didn't look like a planet at all, as far as I'm concerned.
And also, we can apparently breathe in space because we aren't human. What am I? The star moved around as I tried to strike up a conversation with this kid, or was it the other way around?
"Ne, Kanda..." He started off. "What do you think this Pearl looks like?"
"Tch, how the fuck should I know? I've never seen him before or even heard of him... her... whatever until just recently." I turn my head away for a brief second. "But I... was about to ask the same thing to be perfectly honest."
"I think he's probably a wise one who will listen to what we have to say and grant us the wish if we just ask nicely..."
"Or he could just be a big jerk."
"Maybe, but we'll never know until we get there."
Some time passes by, as the star for some reason finally comes to a stopping halt.
"What the, why did you stop you stupid star thing?" I rudely ask it.
"Hey, don't be mean to Stary..." Allen retorted. "...we probably just reached our stopping point, that's all."
"But I don't even see him retard, how can we know if this thing has ran out of gas or not? Or if it wants to troll us!?"
"You're just being stupid, or it doesn't like you because you're mean to it... my star would never do such a thing... BaKanda."
"And will you stop calling me that?"
"Only if you apologize to my star—"
"Who goes there?" A big old object with a tall black hat on top of it spoke hammy-ishly.
"Uh..." I blankly star out into the void of nothing.
"Ah, see, told ya, we made it." Allen boasted silently. "Good work star buddy."
"Who's there I say!" He said boomingly again.
"Um, we are Kanda and Allen, and we came here to ask for a wish from you, if you are the Pearl."
"Indeed I am."
"Oh, well, can we have you grant our wish? What do we have to do to prove our worth?"
"Hmm, okay then. You can wish for anything you'd like."
"Huh, really? No trick, no catch, no test to prove our worth?" I ask him, it, in confusion.
"Nope, you can get a wish for me, any kind. I'm such a jolly guy aren't I?"
"Alright then," Allen said happily, "we would like for you to wish that—"
"—I would be able to control all of the worlds and planets, one by one!" A familiar figure pushed him out of the way before he could finish the sentence.
"Huh, alright then, wish granted."
"YEEEAH!"
"NNOOO!" I scream in agony. I could not believe what just happened. That man had the decency to push him and steal the wish and trick us? I will personally kill that bastard.
"I... I did it, I finally did it!" He exclaimed to himself as he was getting more power inside of him. His muscles were growing bigger. And his brain was getting tinier, not like he needed it in the first place. "It all went according to plan, setting the sun and moon to fight, making them attack that ship before, and force you guys to show me where the Pearl was and now I will rule over you all!"
"Hey Pearl, is it possible to undo the wish?" Allen asked The Pearl.
"Uh, no, only one wish per person per—"
"Shut up, I'm awesome and you know it!" The ugly man retorted. "And now I will have revenge on you demon boy!" He pointed at Allen.
"Huh, you mean me? But I didn't do anything wrong."
He strikes at him with a laser, and for some reason without thinking I jump and push him out of the way. "You alright dude?"
"Um, yeah I am, thanks, but we could have used the star."
"Oh, well, shut up, I saved you."
"DON'T IGNORE ME DAMN IT!" The guy continues to try and attack us with more lasers of his, but thankfully whitey managed to move the star from side to side (but not without putting his cake away) and avoids them.
"How will we beat this guy?" I ask.
"I'm not sure; we need to think this through!" He [Allen] replied.
"No one can stop me now!" The guy said.
"Yo Yu-chan, I figured you needed some help!" I heard Lavi call out. I turned to see the ship was finally made and Lavi and Bookman (plus others) were in it. "It's too dangerous to go, take this!" He threw out a katana sword at me and I jump to catch.
"Whoa, I think I remember using something like this..." I then turn to realize that I don't have to worry about that right now; I have to take care of... him.
"Hey, why don't you hold him off while I go and finish the blow, okay?" Allen gave me some orders.
"Uh, sure thing, why?"
"Well let's just say that I already have a weapon in mind." Allen pulls out a magic staff that appears to be the same color as his eye and scar. "I just need to charge this up so I can use the full blast on him to finish him off, buy me some time till then!"
"I understand!" I block the attacks from the guy and wait for him to charge up the magic so he can use it to his full potential. When it finally shines brighter than ever, he mentions that it's time to go, and I step aside to let him use the wand to attack.
He jumps into the air and slashes his wand as the magic colored beam starts glowing out of the end of the stick to come out and blast out to attack the guy in front of us. He gets hit by the thing and then gets injured terribly, screams in agony, and disappeared in a nanosecond. The sparkles around the sky fall down around the places as we watched in awe. As I stared, I turned to Allen and had a taint of memory inside of me. I remember fighting with him somewhere against evil doers, and he had gotten along well, despite having different personalities. I wondered how I had lost them though.
"Huh, guess the wishing thing ran out of time. Okay then, you could wish for something now."
"You mean it was in a time limit?" I asked in frustration.
"Yeah, even I have bits of jerk assery myself too. Now what do you want?"
"Well, we would like to wish that the moon and sun to stop fighting—"
"Hey you guys, you don't have to wish for the sun and moon anymore, I saw them stop fighting after you defeated that one guy!" Bookman called out to them.
"Really, this really does not make sense."
"Yeah, I guess this place is nonsensical at the terms..." Allen shrugged and smiled.
I muttered. "Uh... how about you wish that the dude we defeated died."
"Eh, I guess I'll make that wish count, wish granted."
"Fucking sweet."
"You sure are weird." Allen joked.
"Look who's talking." I made a tiny smile right back. "Hey, I have an idea on what to nickname you..."
"Ah, really?"
I walk over to pick up the plate of cake and saw the small garnish next to it looking like a bean sprout. "I think I'll call you... Moyashi."
"Kanda, let's keep fighting together so we can restore your memories... Kanda... Kanda..."
.-.-.-.
"Moyashi, moyashi, moyashi." I mumbled the words out of my mouth. I then wake up to find out that what I witnessed was all just a dream. I notice Allen and Timcampy surrounded me, Lavi, Lenalee who also have just awoken from their slumber. "Hey, uh, what happened just now?"
"I have no idea, but I'm glad that you guys are awake again." Allen said in relief.
"I had a strange dream involving ship fights and running away from crazy Queens." Lavi scratched his head.
"Yeah, same here, only I was wearing a giant robe for some reason." Lenalee added.
"And I hadn't even gotten much screen time, I think even Chaoji had more time than us combined!"
"Wait, he was in yours too?"
"Yeah, and I think he died in it too."
"Good, now I'm going to get the fuck out of here, this is getting really stupid." I get up and walk out of the room.
"Hey, wait what did you dream about?" Allen asked.
I slam the door behind the others as Allen starts to chase me finding a way to convince him to fess up and mention the dream I had dreamt, which I didn't want to do because it would be too out of character and stupid for someone like me to bring up.
Oh, and apparently Lenalee leaves too, I guess? Whatever.
