Chapter 10
This was the week everything was happening. All the little events leading up to the big event of Miss Mystic Falls. I don't have any idea what my dress is going to look like or who my date is. Caroline has taken full control and I'm not allowed to have a say. For now I have to practice the dance with Stefan even though I already know most of it. The first thing I have to do this week is an interview with the panel of Judges so they can get to know more about me and the other contestants.
"Ivy hurry... you're going to be late" Caroline moaned at me.
"Yes mom. I'm right here" I moaned back.
"If you're late you're going to get marked badly on it, then you won't get Miss Mystic Falls" Caroline pushed me out the door to my car.
"Fine I'll get there in time on one condition" I said.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I get to go with you and Elena to pick my dress" I told her.
"Fine but my final judgement" She compromised.
"Deal. I'll get going now" I said getting in my car.
I drove to the Mikaelson's house because Esther insisted on having the interviews done in their home. I honestly didn't want to go there but it's not like I had much choice. I hadn't talked to any of the Mikaelson's after that day. Esther was certain that she didn't want me talking to them she put them on so many tasks for Miss Mystic Falls to keep them busy. I parked up and got out my car to see Klaus and Elijah waiting outside. They actually looked happy to see as they both walked over to the car.
"Don't you two look smart" I joked.
"It was our mother's idea" Elijah said.
"I should've guessed" I said.
"Could I escort you to the room?" Klaus smirked holding out his hand.
"Why of course" I laughed taking his hand.
"So I heard my mother told you to stay away from us all" Klaus said.
"Well she's done a good job of that hasn't she" I said sarcastically.
"Have you chose your date for this yet?" Klaus asked looking at me.
"I don't get to decide. Caroline's making all the decisions. Esther has already sent Finn to tell her to make sure it's not any of her sons" I told him.
"Here we are. Good luck. I'll see you after" Klaus smiled waiting for me.
I waited until the doors opened. I looked at Klaus as he gave me a reassuring look and I walked in to the dining room unfortunately one of the judges was Esther but I wasn't bothered at least not after my talk with Alaric. I sat down and waited for the first question. There was a couple of questions like what I'd done for the community and finding out personal things in my life.
"Before you leave Ivy... I have one more question for you... Why did you sign up for Miss Mystic Falls?" Esther asked with a smirk.
"Honestly... I thought it was because my friends forced me into it but if I'm telling the truth it was my dream to sign up when I was young" I told them.
"Could you elaborate on that Miss Salvatore?" One of the other judges asked.
"Sure... My parents brought me to one of these when I was a child and I always wanted to be involved in one but when I was about to sign up for it when I was old enough to my parents were killed and I couldn't do it or anytime after that because I didn't feel as if I could do it without them by my side. Now I know that they're always with me cheering me on and with my brothers and my friends by my side I know I can" I explained.
"Thank you for your time. You will be escorted back out" Esther said.
"Was that story true?" Klaus asked as I walked out.
"Yeah. I just missed out that it was over 100 years ago that I saw my first one" I smiled walking back out to my car.
"Mother wasn't to harsh on you was she?" Rebekah asked as I walked out the door.
"I couldn't tell. I was too busy thinking what dress Caroline is going to make me wear to this thing" I joked.
"I guess we'll see you back here at the event" Elijah said.
"I guess so. I miss spending time with you guys" I told them.
"I miss my friend. I don't care what my mother says I'm doing your hair and make-up for you" Rebekah smiled hugging me.
"I wouldn't have anyone else do it but I should probably get going before I get killed for talking to you all" I said hugging Rebekah before leaving to my car and driving off.
I was supposed to drive home but I popped into town instead. I pulled and walked into the dress shop. I was going to get a back up dress incase I didn't like the one Caroline picked for me. I started looking at dresses as I heard Caroline and Elena talking between them about ideas. I followed the voices to find what they were looking at.
"No. I am not wearing pink" I said finding they were looking at pink dresses.
"You always wear dark colours. I wanted to find something different for you to wear" Caroline said.
"Anything but pink. I will not wear pink. Final" I moaned.
"Fine. What are you doing here anyway?" Caroline asked.
"I could ask you the same question" I said.
"We were looking for ideas" Elena said.
"So am I. After that interview I realized why I signed up for this... I mean after you guys made me. Me and my mom had already been deciding what colour dress I would have and who my prince charming should look like" I told them.
"What colour dress we're you going to have?" Elena asked.
"Well when I was little it was yellow because I was obsessed with that colour but as I grew up and it was closer to the time it was going to be either purple or turquoise" I answered.
"Well that's a step in the right direction" Elena said.
"Lets go look for a dress" Caroline said rushing to the other end of the shop.
Caroline was looking at the turquoise dresses, Elena was looking at the purple dresses and I was looking at the yellow dresses because Caroline thought it was worth a look. After 10 minutes we all meet up at the changing rooms with one dress each. I went in with all three dresses and tried the yellow one on first and walked out for opinions.
"I don't think so. It makes me look like a lemon" I said.
"I'd have to agree with you there" Caroline said.
"Put that as a definite no" Elena shouted as I went back in to the changing room changing to the turquoise dress.
"It's too fluffy. I don't think so" I said.
"Just go change into your next dress and put that in the no pile" Elena said.
I went back and changed into the purple dress that Elena picked.
"I can't breathe in it never mind dance in it. This is a disaster guys. We're never going to find a dress that I like now. These dresses were me when I was human. Let's face it. We're just not going to do it" I said before going in and getting changed.
"I wouldn't say that too soon. I think I may have an idea. I'll meet you guys back at the house" Caroline said before running off.
"Where's she going so fast?" I asked Elena walking back out.
"I have no idea. I don't think I want to know" Elena said as we grabbed our stuff and left.
I gave Elena a lift back to her house and then I drove back to my house. I pulled up and walked inside. There was no sign of Stefan or Damon. There was no sign of Caroline either. I walked upstairs to take the time alone while I could closing my eyes.
"Caroline said you needed help finding a dress" I opened my eyes.
"Klaus? Why would Caroline come to you?" I asked.
"She thinks I know you more than anyone else enough to pick a dress up for you" He smirked sitting on my bed.
"Good luck doing that" I said sitting up next to Klaus.
"How's this one?" Klaus' smirk grew as he gave me a box.
"Have you actually brought a dress?" I asked.
"Why don't you go try it on" He said.
I left the room and went into Damon's room to try it on. I looked in the mirror at this long red dress. It had diamonds and glitter on it. I walked back into my room.
"You look amazing" Klaus said standing up walking over to me.
"It's perfect. How did you know it would work?" I looked at him.
"I listen and take notes more than you think I do" He smiled.
"Are you sure your mom's not going to kill you for being here?" I asked.
"It's worth it" He smiled looking at me.
"I should probably change before I ruin the dress" I said hearing Stefan and Damon come back. Klaus hurried downstairs. I got out my dress and went downstairs.
"Do I want to know what you guys we're doing out so long?" I joked walking into the living room.
"We were with Elena. She wanted to talk to us about something... we think Katherine might be back" Stefan said.
"How do you know?" I asked noticing Klaus had left the house completely.
"Because last night I kissed Elena again... or who looks exactly like Elena and sounds like Elena" Damon said.
"You did what? Wait what do you mean again?" I asked.
"The first time I kissed Elena... well it wasn't Elena it was Katherine and it's happened all over again" Damon explained.
"Why would Katherine come back here?" I asked.
"I don't know but it's obviously not a good thing" Stefan said.
"Miss Mystic Falls is tomorrow... she can't ruin it" I told them.
"Oh don't worry... I won't... or at least I don't plan on it... in-fact I'm here to save it... or at least the Mikaelson's from their evil witch mother" Katherine walked in.
"What do you mean?" I asked her.
"I stopped by their place earlier as dear little Elena and I over heard Esther and Finn talking. She's planning on killing them all at the same time tomorrow at Miss Mystic Falls with something she's putting in their drink" She explained.
"Why would you want to save them?" Damon asked.
"For my own reasons. I have my past with them" She said.
"Are you sure it's not because Klaus wants to kill you and you think this will stop him from chasing you down?" Stefan asked.
"Does it matter. She's here to help..." I said sticking up for her.
"The question is how am I going to get in because I know you won't let me be sweet innocent Elena" Katharine asked.
"You're not. You going to tell us what's going to go down and when and then we'll sort it" Damon said.
"I don't think so. I'm going in one way or another. Now what dress is Elena wearing and I'll get a replica then we can both get in. I'll hide upstairs and you can enjoy the party" Katherine ordered.
"You're going to do this even if we say no aren't you?" I asked.
"You know me so well Ivy... By the way Damon... I think you got a little confused with who you were kissing... I'm guessing that was for Elena. I'll see you all tomorrow... good luck Ivy" Katherine smirked before walking off.
"Great... more stress for tomorrow. I'm going to get some sleep" I said walking back upstairs.
