I never meant to leave it this long till I updated but unfortunately real life got in the way. First I had a social life whilst Uni was over so I got too busy to sit down and write, then work got in the way, then Uni started again. Not mention I've been so ill and still am, which sucks so much. Happy 2015 people, this story will get finished I swear, especially as there is only about four more chapters of 'Run' left. Enjoy!

The days that followed after the picnic in the hotel were almost calm. Rhydian and Maddy were beginning to go out on more dates with Shannon and Tom occasionally coming with them, just to keep them in line and to make sure that nothing went too far. There was no threat of Liam but his presence still hung over the couple, which resulted in some fights about what they should do about him. Rhydian, convinced that he would get bored soon and give up and Maddy who believed that something needed to be done.
"It's funny" Shannon said, drinking her coke and leaning back into her chair. Maddy growled softly and said
"What?" Shannon smiled back and replied
"A few years ago it would have been the other way around. You wanting to do nothing and Rhydian wanting to go after the threat. You've totally switched roles" Maddy laughed
"You're right, it would have been," She sighed and looked around the café "I'm just fed up of watching my back everywhere I go" Shannon looked at her before saying softly
"You haven't been sleeping, have you?" Maddy looked down before replying
"I can't. I keep dreaming about different things and I wake up"
"What kind of things?" Maddy bit her lip before replying
"I keep seeing Liam laughing and Rhydian in a cage, but he's not moving and there is blood all around him" Shannon took her hand before replying
"It's not going to happen, we won't let it happen" Maddy looked up at her friend before squeezing her hand
"It feels so real and it scares me and the wolf. I can't let him die. I need to protect him. And if it's not that dream, it's the heat dreams. I can barely control the wolf at the moment" Shannon looked back at her before replying
"Then stop trying," Maddy raised her eyebrow and looked at her "No listen, you aren't all human, you're stopping yourself from doing what is natural to your species" Maddy shook her head before replying
"You are mad Shannon. I'm not ready for everything that will come with this mating, especially children" Shannon laughed before saying
"Who says you are going to get pregnant first time round?"

Maddy slipped the dress over her head and looked at herself in the mirror. The black lace dress clung to her skin, with one slit up the side to showcase her toned legs and matching heels. Her hair was curled and styled to the side.
"You look beautiful Maddy" Maddy turned at the sound of her mother's voice and smiled.
"Thanks Mam" Emma smiled at her daughter before saying
"I'm so proud of you. Enjoy tonight with Rhydian" Emma turned to leave but stopped when she heard Maddy
"How was it for you with dad? When you… you know" Emma smiled before replying
"It made me complete. He was something that I never knew I was missing. He brings out the best in me, like Rhydian does for you" Maddy smiled at her mother before tuning and hugging her. Emma hugged her back, knowing what was going to happen tonight and that Maddy wouldn't be part of the family pack much longer. The doorbell rang and the two woman drew apart before Emma went open the front door. A minute later Shannon entered the room and said
"Ready?"

Liam loaded the gun before placing it onto the car seat next to him. He scanned across the car park at the people entering into the college before checking the time once more. He knew that they would be here soon and it would be his only chance to complete the hunt.

Shannon parked the car and turned to Maddy.
"I'll go and find the guys, do you want to wait in the car?" Maddy shook her head before saying
"It's fine. I'll wait just by the trees. I need some fresh air" They both got out of the car, Shannon walking towards the entrance and Maddy walking towards the small groups of tree. She leaned back against a tree and looked up at the moon. It was only a few days until the full moon and she planned to take Rhydian back to Lindisfarne Island to run amongst the ruins, tunnels and beaches without the fear that Liam could catch them. A twig snapped in the distance and Maddy began to turn before she heard a small click and everything went dark.
