Chapter Ten: Her Sweet Dreams

Steve sees Peggy coming out of her debriefing for a mission they just complete. Smirking, he gets off the wall he was leaning on and approaches her. Peggy doesn't have time to say hello or ask how his debriefing was before he wraps his arms around her. He playfully tries to kiss her and Peggy tries to squirm and push him away. Despite them being off of work at the moment, they're still on SHIELD property. But it's not like anyone would care because they just finished another mission and had every right to do this,

"C'mon, Peg," Steve encourages excitedly.

Peggy laughs. "Darling, I'm still wearing Sweet Dreams."

"Wipe that off and kiss me."

"Fine."

Peggy breaks free from him and like the tease she is, she just applies more coats of her toxic lipstick. Peggy chuckles lightly as she claps her lips and kisses only his cheek. Steve narrows his eyes at her as she struts away, laughing to herself.

Now, Peggy and the leader were left alone to see if any last-minute negotiations could be made although they both know that isn't happening anytime soon. It was only a formality at this point.

The leader looks at Peggy and laughs. "Are you threatening me?"

"It's my job," Peggy replies fiercely. The look in her eyes shows that she has never been more pissed off in her life. "You have no idea how many lives you have destroyed. Your hostages, their families, my partner, and who knows how many more. You are abusing your force and power. If you thought that I wouldn't be telling you all this and just let you take me down, you are wrong."

"Do you expect me to believe you're here alone?"

"Of course not." Peggy grins. "A woman always comes prepared." She takes a quick glance out the window. "How far is it from here to the ground?"

"Thirty-Five feet," the leader replies, pulling out his own gun and pointing it at her.

Weaponless, Peggy doesn't react. If she were to jump out, she'd land on concrete.

"Why? You need some fresh air?" The leader questions.

"Sometimes, I think it'd be better if I killed myself than have my enemies do it," Peggy responds.

"How touching. Saving me some bullets or some time?"

Peggy laughs again before rolling her eyes. She takes a step closer to the leader now wearing a look of seduction. The leader looks at her perplexed by her sudden change of mood and even blushes a little, but isn't complaining one bit. She unzips the top of her uniform a bit just to give a glimpse of her cleavage. Peggy pulls out her lipstick and applies a fresh coat, making her lips a dark and tempting shade of red. Slowly. And she made sure he was paying attention.

"You want to know why my lipstick is called 'Sweet Dreams'?" Peggy asks just to buy herself more time.

"Enlighten me before I kill you," the leader tells her.

"Enlighten you, I will," Peggy replies. "This lipstick is called 'Sweet Dreams', you already know that. I have a whole line of custom made lipsticks. Besides the luxurious colour, it does this."

Peggy grabs the leaders face and kisses him. When she pushes him back, her red lipstick is fresh on his lips. He goes pale and falls over, dropping his gun. Peggy places her foot on his chest and looks right into his dying eyes.

"Poisonous lipstick," Peggy grits through her teeth. "I also have a hallucinogenic one in case you're interested although I doubt it's your colour. You should've seen that coming."

Peggy wipes her lips on her sleeve, trying her best to remove the last bit of lipstick. She glances at her reflection in a mirror on the wall and her face is now covered in red smears. She picks up his gun and takes any other potential weapons she finds in the room which include another gun, a magazine of bullets, a pair of scissors, and a stapler. Peggy looks at the leader as he is gasping for his last breaths.

"Face it, we won," Peggy tells him.

"Good luck trying to escape..." He moans. "My army is still out there, and you don't have it in you to leave the girls behind."

Peggy glares at him. "I don't know why you're still trying. I still have my life and my backup." She loads the gun and fires it at his chest. "Sweet Dreams..."

The second her gun fires, the guards from outside came rushing it. Peggy charges at one of them and quickly snaps his neck. She looks at the other one and kicks him over. She steps on him as a boost to jump and kick the other one over with a roundhouse effect. Peggy quickly uses the stapler and swings it like Thor swings his hammer. She grabs another one and slams him against the wall putting a few staples in his face. As he screams, Peggy sees another flood of guards coming her way.

"Bloody hell..." She mutters as she begins running.

Peggy runs down a hallway, trying to outrun them the best way she could. She kicks down a wooden door and finds herself in a bedroom. She pushes a nearby dresser in front of the door, figuring that it will buy her some time.

Peggy sees a balcony so she out on it. She stands on top of the ledge surrounding the edge of the balcony and looks hesitates whether she should risk it to jump off. Yes, she's jumped off of buildings and cliffs without a parachute, and she's lived. That was when she knew there would be something at the bottom to catch her or land in. As of right now, it was thirty-five feet between her current position and face-planting into concrete.

"Sam!" She yells for on her com. When she hears a frizzing sound, she chucks her earpiece.

Peggy curses to herself as the warriors finally break into the room. They corner her as she stands on the balcony ledge.

"Face it, Agent Carter," one of the warriors says, "there is no way out."

"There is always a way out," Peggy replies.

She smiles and waves at them before opening her arms wide and falling backwards off the balcony.
