Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I'm not dead if that's what you're all thinking. I bet you all are upset at me for not updating. Well, I sincerely apologize for that. The reason why I haven't updated is because lots of family issues came up(they're still going on) and I haven't had any time to update. And I was recently grounded for some personal issues. I still am, but you what. I break rules. Rules are meant to be broken. :D But don't do that if you want to end up grounded. So yeah, I hope for all of you awesome people out there can forgive me. But enough of that, I'll be updating more often soon, and I want to finish this story. Probably and hopefully, before this year ends. Now, enough chit chat, in this chapter, it'll be a flashback of how Blu and his old friends met. I hope this chapter makes up for not updating, heheh. Now, without further ado, enjoy folks. :)
It has been two days since Blu, Jewel and their friends encountered Blu's old childhood friends. It may have been a tough start for Jewel, Rafael, Nico and Pedro when they met Blu's friends, but fortunately they all soon started to get along with each other. Of course, Blu couldn't be any happier too see everyone he loves and cares for getting along. Luiz, Mauro, the marmosets, Eva, and the toucan kids also met and seemed to get along with them as well. They all soon started to hang out at Linda's bookstore, make jokes, and goof around. How about we take a look on how our animal friends are doing shall we?
Our animal friends were now at Linda's bookstore. They were all sitting in the couch telling each other stories; such as Blu's adventure in Rio and the adventures he and his friends had in Minnesota.
"And that was the time we first rode a moose." Blu finished as leaned back and put his wings on the back of his head.
"Whoa...cool." The animals from Rio said in unison and in amazement as they looked at each other.
"That story was popping!" Pedro exclaimed as he jumped in the air.
"That was amazing!" Rafael cheered.
"Well, it did sounded like it was pretty fun." Jewel said as laid down next to Blu.
"Oh, it was." Mike chuckled.
"Man. You guys have a lot of good stories." Nico peeped behind Pedro.
"Speaking of stories. I always wondered, how did you guys meet?" Jewel asked her husband and his friends.
It was silent between all the animals. Blu and his friends all looked at each other and nodded. Then they turned back to look at the others which then Axel coughed and spoke, "That story place took place years ago."
"Yep. It has indeed of course."Arlene said as she sat close to Axel. Axel looked down and noticed that his wing was next to hers causing him to blush and look away.
"Well, we could tell you the story of how we met. If you guys are up for it." Rico replied crossing his black wings across his chest.
"Yeah, we're up for it." Luiz said happily as he licked his mouth.
"Well, get comfortable because this is going to be a long story." Blu said as he sat up.
"That's right. Ahem. Now the story begins in the summer of 1953..." Arlene started as started to mimic the voice of an elderly woman.
"Ahem." Daisy said as she nudged Arlene in the rib with her dark blue wing.
"Ow, what was that for?" Arlene said rubbing her rib to soothe the pain.
Daisy glared at her in annoyance and said," The real story."
"Okay, okay." Arlene said rolling her eyes and cleared her throat. "The story begins a few years ago...
Flashback:
It was an ordinary day in the small town of MooseLake. The bookstore named Blue Macaw Books lived an little blue macaw named Blu. A few years ago he was smuggled from his tropical home and was brought to the United States. After his crate falling from a truck, a young red-haired girl found the poor chick and promised to take care of him. Years have passed and Blu grew bigger and stronger. Blu was a very skinny chick. Blu had three feathers that stick up on the back of his head. He had downy feathers that stick up on the back of his neck and on his chest.(He looked like Tiago).
Right now, Blu was peacefully sitting on the counter near the bookstore's window, enjoying, what he calls the perfect marshmallow cocoa ratio. As he sipped the hot delicious chocolate drink, he heard a small ruckus upstairs; which caused him to chuckle.
Upstairs, young Linda was in her room tidying up her room, before the arrival of her friends that she invited over. After a few weeks of begging, her parents finally gave in and allowed her to bring her friends over; of course lecturing her with a few rules when they were at work.
"A-a-and...done!" Linda cheered out as she finally finished making preparations. She had everything ready. She cleaned and neaten everything in her room. She had board and video games for her friends to play, movies to watch, a stereo for music, and finally food and drinks in case any of them got hungry or thirsty. "Now I just have to wait for the guests to arrive."
"Ah." Blu sighed happily as he finished his hot chocolate drink. He used his left wing and wiped off some of the chocolate that was left on his beak. His head perked up as he heard laughter of children outside the bookstore. Blu clumsily ran toward the window, placed his wing on it and looked outside.
In the distance, Blu spotted four children wearing warm winter clothes and backpacks as they were running towards the shop. Blu made out that there was two boys and two girls, immediately knowing they were Linda's friends, but as he looked closer, he noticed all of them holding something in their hands. Tilting his head in curiosity, he waited patiently for the kids to arrive. He squawked loudly, telling Linda that their guests have arrived, followed by a single knock on the door.
"Coming!" Linda exclaimed from her room, followed by footsteps as she walked down the stairs toward the door. She opened the door to be greeted by her friends. Simultaneously, they greeted each other by high-fiving each other and saying, "Hey!"
"Miranda, David, Kassidy, Logan, come on in guys!" Linda said as she stepped aside allowing her friends to walk inside.
Miranda looked about the same as her adult self. Tough instead having her light blue hair, she had her original black hair. She wore a black winter jacket, white ear muffs, a red scarf, and grey sweat pants.
David was young British boy who moved to Mooselake a few years ago, then later meeting his friends. He had light blonde hair and blue eyes that everyone adored. He wore a dark grey hoodie, a red beanie, a white scarf, and black sweatpants.
Next was, Kassidy was a young city girl from New York. She came to Mooselake a two years ago, which then she became friends with everyone else. Kassidy had brown hair that covers part of her face, and had dark hazel eyes. She wore a white hoodie, a blue scarf, and grey jeans.
Finally, there was Logan. Born in Florida, but moved to Mooselake and raised, Logan soon became friends with everyone around his age. He wore a black hoodie and blue jeans.
"Thanks for inviting us Linda." David said politely.
"Oh it's no problem. Glad you guys made it." Linda replied kindly looking at her friends.
Blu waddled his over to the counter's edge, trying to catch a glimpse of what the four children n held in their grasp. Miranda, noticing Blu, greeted him, "Oh hey Blu dude." Blu squawked in response giving her a small smile.
"Alright, so are you guys ready to have some fun?" Linda asked enthusiastically as she reached out her arm for Blu to climb on. "I've got everything already plan-wait, what do you guys have there?" she asked in curiosity as she noticed all her friends with something in their hands.
"Oh right. Well, let's go upstairs first, we'll show you there." Logan replied, before beginning running upstairs with his friends right behind them.
After getting to Linda's room and sitting themselves down in a circle, Kassidy asked eagerly, "So, you ready to see what it is?"
Blu and Linda merely nodded their head, also eager to see what they had.
"Okay, well, it goes." Kassidy said as she and her friends put their hands near the wooden floor and showed Blu and Linda what they held in their hands; which caused them to slightly gas in surprise.
In their hands were four macaw chicks, that were about the same age as Blu, but a few years younger. Two were scarlet macaws while the other two were hyacinth macaws. Looking closely, in each pair were different genders. Two males and two females.
"Whoa." Blu and Linda said in unison, observing the chicks.
The chicks looked up to see Blu and Linda, making them cower in fear as they chirped silently to each other . The female scarlet macaw looked determined at her fellow friends, nodding at them that told them it's fine, before hopping off Miranda's hands onto the floor. The other chicks looked at each other worryingly, before putting off a determined expressions as well and followed their friend's actions.
"Where did you guys find them?" Linda asked in curiosity as she placed Blu down onto the wooden floor to let him get along with the new found chicks.
"Oh we found them a few blocks away on the street near the Mooselake." Kassidy answered as she looked closely as the chicks talked among themselves while Blu slowly walked up to them.
"Hi!" "Blu greeted happily as he waved his wing in front of the chicks, making them jumped in surprise.
"Ahhh! Hold me!" The female hyacinth macaw screamed as she jumped into the female scarlet macaw's wings.
"Ugh." The female scarlet macaw groaned as she rolled her eyes at her friend. She then put a smile as she looked at Blu. "What's up dude, sorry about my friend here, she's sometimes gets scared easily."
"Oh, I don't mind. Say, I've never seen you guys around here before. Are you guys new around here?" Blu asked as he walked up to them.
"Why yes we are. We just arrived this morning." The male scarlet macaw chirped.
"Hmm, we do you guys come from then?" Blu questioned.
"We come from California." The female hyacinth macaw answered as she hopped off her friend's wings.
"Oh I see. That's actually pretty far. Well, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Blu said politely as he draped his wing over his stomach, bowing his head a little.
"The pleasure is all ours." The male hyacinthmacaw responded as all of them bowed their heads as well.
"Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Blu. Like the cheese, but there's no mold on me. Hahaheh." Blu chuckled to himself by the joke he made as he puffed out his chest looking proud. He looked at the chicks to see their puzzled and confused expressions. "Uh, nevermind, just remember the name. Blu."
"Well, nice to meet you Blu. I'm Arlene and this is Daisy, Axel, and Mike." Arlene answered as she pointed at her friends.
"Well, nice to meet you all of you. And welcome to Mooselake, Minnesota!" Blu exclaimed happily as he spread out his dark blue wings.
"What are guys going to do with them?" Linda asked as she fixed her glasses,
"Keep them of course." Logan said.
Linda questioned, "What about their parents? Surely they must be worried sick about them and are looking for them."
"Well, if they were looking for them, these guys wouldn't be here right now." Miranda replied.
"I suppose you have a good point." Linda shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I guess now we have to see what to name them and who they're going with."
Daisy heard Linda as he got worried and asked Blu, "What do she mean by that? We're not separating are we?"
"No, no, not at all. One of those kids will pick you for a companion, but you will not separate from each other. You'll all still be here, just in different homes."
"What if they hurt us?" Axel questioned as he took a step forward Blu.
"Don't worry. I've known those kids for a while. None of them won't hurt you. Heck they wouldn't even hurt a fly." Blu reassured.
"Hmm, well, that sounds good to me. We can take a look around and get used to this new place." Arlene answered nodding to herself and her friends.
"Okay, first let's see who they're going with." Kassidy said as her friends and herself sat in a circle with the chicks in the middle. Blu squawked happily as he waddled his way over to Linda, sitting in her lap eager to see what happens.
"Alright, now where-Wait, before we start, let's put on some jams." Miranda interrupted Linda as she leaned over to the radio before turning it on.
I feel something so right,
doing the wrong thing,
I feel something so wrong,
I'm doing the right thing
Arlene's head perked up as she heard the song play. She slowly started to bob her head up and down while she shook her tail feathers side to side. Tapping her feet, she slowly started to dance in front of everyone.
I could lie,
could lie,
could lie,
everything that kills me makes me feel alive
"Hey, check it out!" Miranda exclaimed. "She's a music lover too!"
"Well what do you know, I guess we know where she's going now." Kassidy giggled a little.
As Arlene kept dancing, she didn't notice Miranda reaching over to grab her. Miranda pulled her close to her right cheek before saying, "We're going to have so much fun!" Only for Arlene to chirp happily as she rubbed her head against her cheek.
"Haha, who's next?" Logan chuckled.
"Hmm, I'm not sure, but while we find out, I brought a picture I drew at home." Kassidy suggested as she opened up her backpack, before pulling out a piece of paper from her binder. She placed it in the middle of everyone to see.
"Oooh." Her friends and the chicks said in amazement at the well drawn picture. The picture was an realistic rose. Daisy slowly walked up toward the drawing, closely observing it. She looked up at Kassidy, smiling at her before squawking her as she pointed at the picture.
"You like it? Thanks, I drew it myself." Kassidy said.
Daisy grabbed the picture in her talons, before opening her small dark blue wings and flying onto Kassidy's lap. She smiled at her as she snuggled her head against her stomach.
"Hehe, well, I guess I know who I'm taking." Kassidy giggled as she looked down at Daisy, using her finger to gently rub her head.
"Haha, well, now there's only these guys left." David said looking at Axel and Mike.
"Well, pal, I wonder who we're going to go with." Mike chirped as he walked next to Axel, giving him a pat on the back.
"Yeah I wonder too." Axel said nervously looking at the two boys.
Logan looked at the two male chicks, observing them closely while thinking which chick he should pick. David looked at the chicks back and forth while tapping his chin with his finger.
Axel looked at David as David looked at Axel. David nodded to himself and said, "I know who I'm going to pick. And it's this little guy." David grabbed Axel and pulled him close as Axel smiled at him.
Logan smiled and grabbed Mike and put him on his shoulders. "Well, I know who I'm getting too."
"That settles it then. Now time to name them." Linda replied as she scratched Blu's neck.
Blu closed his eyes and relaxed. He opened his eyes and got off of Linda's lap. He walked over to Kassidy's backpack and went inside. He came out holding a piece of paper and pencil in his small dark blue wings. Blu placed the paper on the floor and started writing. After he finished, he grabbed the paper and, walked over to Linda and gave it to her.
Linda fixed her glasses and read the paper. She looked at her friends and stated, "Blu says they have names already."
"Really? What are their names then?" Kassidy politely asked.
"Miranda, you have Arlene, Kassidy you have Daisy, David you have Axel, and Logan you have Mike." Explained Linda as she put the paper for her friends to see.
"Huh, well Arlene is a nice name." Miranda smiled as she scratched Arlene's head.
"Yeah they are." Everyone in the room said as they soon started playing around with each other.
Present:
"And that's how we met." Arlene finished.
"Wow, that's some story." Jewel said looking impressed.
"Yeah, yeah, but you forgot the best part." Rico butted in.
"I did?" Arlene asked tilting her head in confusion.
Rico's jaw dropped. "What? Don't you remember? The time you met the coolest hawk ever?" Rico stated as he pointed his black wing tips at himself.
"Oh yeah, heheh, forgot about that." Arlene giggled nervously as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Okay let's see..."
Flashback:
A Few Months Later...
"Come on Blu!" Daisy cheered as she and friends ran across the big frozen lake of Mooselake.
"I'm coming!" Blu yelled as he ran behind his new friends. He saw them go into a bush which he followed. After he got out, he only saw them gone. "G-Guys?" he chirped. Blu slowly walked backwards only to bump into somebody. He turned around to see it was none other than Alice and Chloe.
Alice and Chloe were tall female twin Canadian geese sisters that bullied Blu for being domesticated and called him 'nerd bird' and a 'pet.'
"Alice, Chloe!" Blu screamed as he stumbled onto his feet crawling away from them.
"Haha, what's wrong pet? You don't have your human mommy to protect you?" Chloe mocked Blu.
"Haha, yeah. If only I could fly boo hoo hoo." Alice mocked him as well as they both got started walking up too him.
"Come on, please, can't we all be friends?" Blu nervously asked as he backed up to a tree.
The sisters stop and looked at each other. "Hmmm...hahaha, nah." They laughed as they cornered Blu.
"Hey!"
The two geese turned around to see Arlene, Daisy, Axel and Mike looking aggressively at them.
"Get away from him!" Arlene growled.
"Well, look who we have here it's freak and her pathetic friends." Alice mocked them making them angry.
"Your words don't imitate us." Arlene snarled as her feathers spiked up in anger and defense.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. How about you go back where you came from?" Chloe said harshly. Alice and herself looked back at Blu.
"Now where were we?" Chloe said sarcastically and mockingly as she and her sister towered and stared down at Blu.
"INCOMING!"
All the birds looked up to see a black blur swinging on a vine, heading start forward Alice and Chloe. The sisters held each other as they screamed. They quickly turned around to fly off, only for the black figure to hit them sending them flying to snow covered bush. The black figure let go of the vine, landing softly on the snowy ground.
"Don't you ever mess anyone again or I open a can of butt kicking on you!" The black figure yelled at the tree then looking at Blu. "Hey are you okay kid?"
Blu quickly got up, dusting off small flakes of snow on his feathers. He looked at the one who save him. The figure was obviously a male black hawk, according to his calculations. The hawk looked exactly the same as him, except only a bit older and well built. He had ocean blue eyes, silhouette feathers and a grey beak and talons. "Yeah, thanks for saving me from those bullies." Blu answered.
"Heh, anything for the ones in need. The name's Rico." The hawk introduced himself as he reached out his talon for a talon shake.
"My name's Blu," Blu replied, accepting the talon-shake. "and these are my friends Arlene, Daisy, Axel and Mike." Blu finished as he looked at his friends behind him.
Rico looked at the birds behind Blu and greeted them, "Hello to all of you."
"Sup." They all said in unison.
"You're new here?" Mike asked.
"Yeah, just traveling around." Rico answered casually as he crossed his wings around his chest while leaning against the tree.
"So, Rico, do you wanna join us?" Blu asked friendly as he walked and stood next to his friends who smiling as well.
Rico smiled at all of them. "Sure."
Present:
"And that's pretty much it." Arlene finished once again.
The animals from Rio clapped their wings and paws.
"Bravo!" Rafael cheered as he danced a little while clapping.
"That was popping!" Pedro exclaimed.
"Aww, come on guys it was just a story." Mike said rubbing his left wing with his right.
"Yeah, but it was good." Mauro replied putting his paws on his watch around his waist.
"Thanks guys." Blu said shyly.
Arlene looked at the clock on top of the TV. She got up from the couch and flew toward the counter near the opened window. She looked at everyone at the couch behind her.
"Hey Arlene, you're leaving already?" Rico asked.
"Yeah, I got head back home to get some rest. You guys should too." Arlene replied.
"Why?" Jewel inquired.
"We'll be giving you tour around town tomorrow. You gotta get up bright and early. I'll see you guys later. Goodnight guys." Arlene bid farewell as she looked at the window, opening her colored wings before flying out the window.
