Sorry life has been hectic and I've been remiss in updating! I'm working on the next two chapters already so if my brain doesn't escape again I will have your next chapter this weekend! ~Dray
Sirius stepped out of the fireplace and nearly ran into Remus, who was still standing smack in the middle of Hermione's living room. "You okay Moony?"
"I'm fine Pads, just trying to wrap my head around everything that happened you know? Night before last we were talking about what we would do if we ever got the chance to be with Mione and now here we are in her apartment cleaning it out so she can move into Grimmauld Place with us." Remus said as he wrapped his arms around Sirius for comfort.
Sirius hugged him back just as tightly. "I know Moony, I know. But just remember this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't meant to. And Mione obviously wants this just as much as we do or she wouldn't have agreed to move in with us." He said placing a soft kiss on his temple. "Now lets gather up her boxes and get back home to our witch."
Remus smile softly at him. "Our witch. I like the sound of that."
"Me too Remus." Sirius said kissing his lips softly before pulling away to glance around the room. "Well where should we start?"
"I think the easiest way would be to have Dobby come get her furniture and take it to the rooms we are giving her back home and let him set it up while we shrink down the boxes and send them back." He mused aloud
Sirius nodded his assent and called for the house elf. While he hadn't officially bound Dobby to him the elf tended to bounce between Harry's apartment and Grimmauld place taking care of all the various residents. Sirius made sure he got a pair of socks every months as payment and Harry gave him two sickles a month. The elf was very happy with the arrangement and Hermione didn't seem to mind since they were paying him so it worked out well for everyone.
Dobby popped in immediately, looking thrilled to be of assistance. "Good afternoon Sir's. Is there something Dobby could help you with?"
"Would it be possible for you to shrink Hermione's furniture and take it to the second floor, the suite at the end opposite mine and Remus's, and set it up how you think she would like it best?" Sirius asked.
Dobby yipped excitedly. "Of course Dobby can do that Sir's, and I'll make sure the rooms are clean and ready for Miss Hermione immediately." He squeaked excitedly, his ears quivering with excitement.
"Thank you Dobby. After you do that could you and Winky go pick out some new curtains and the like for Hermione's room and ours?" Remus said coming out from the kitchen.
"Of course Sir! Will there be anything else Sir's?" Dobby asked. When both Remus and Sirius indicated that there wasn't Dobby gave one last bow then disappeared with a crack.
"Good call on the curtains Remus." Sirius said with a smile as he cast a charm at the fireplace to keep the connection between the flat and Grimmauld place open, then he started the process of shrinking down the boxes that were scattered around the living room.
"Lets face it the whole place needs a facelift so why not start with the drapery?" Remus said with a chuckle. "If they do a good job why not give them a room a month to update?"
Sirius barely paused to think about it before nodding empathetically. "Definitely. I'm sick of the drab darkness in that old house."
"Its settled then." Remus declared with a nod as he banished the kitchen boxes through the fireplace. After casting a few cleaning charms he moved on to the few boxes in the guestroom and repeated the process.
Meanwhile back at Grimmauld Place Hermione was standing in the middle of the kitchen nose deep in a cookbook trying to decide what to make for dinner. Finally she decided on a roast chicken with herb potatoes and carrots. Heading over to cold storage she pulled out what she needed then charmed the potatoes to peel themselves while she prepared the chicken to go in the oven. She still had no clue what she was going to say to the Weasley clan, or what she was going to do if Ron came too. Twenty minutes later a cursory knock at the front door before it was opened pulled her out of her thoughts.
"I'm in the kitchen!" She called up the stairs as she rinsed her hands off in the sink.
"Hey Hermione! Its us!" Harry called as he hung up his and Draco's coats before they came tromping down the stairs.
Hermione gave each boy a quick hug before tilting her head curiously. "Why didn't you just-" She started to ask before all three of them were ducking a box that came flying out of the fireplace. "Oh they must still be moving my things."
"Yeah your floo is busy. I'm guessing they kept it open to send boxes back over from you flat." Harry said with a chuckle.
"Are you two entirely sure we should be in the kitchen if boxes are going to keep flying out of the fireplace?" Draco asked sounding concerned.
"I think we will be fine as long as we don't hover by the fireplace itself of the staircase." Hermione said as she turned to put the two chickens in the oven.
Harry nodded in agreement as he grabbed each of them a butterbeer then sat down at the table, motioning for Draco to join him. "So I have news of my own for you Hermione." Harry said as he took a sip.
Draco tried to hide his grin as he busied himself with opening his own butterbeer. He had about gone through the roof when Harry told him the news so he could only imagine how his best friend was going to react.
Hermione dusted off her hands and sat down across from the boys. "Draco is grinning like the cat that got the cream and you are practically vibrating." Hermione noted. "I'm curious as to what could have the two of you acting like this. One of you didn't some how get pregnant did you?" She joked.
"Not quite yet." Harry said with a laugh. "But I did get accepted into the St Mungos apprenticeship!"
Hermione yelped and practically leapt across the table to give him a hug. "I'm so happy for you! Congratulations Harry!"
Draco chuckled. "Well at least I didn't lose as much hearing as I thought I would. You really do have a set of lungs on you Hermione."
"Oh that was nothing. When she gets mad she can put a banshee to shame." Harry said as his best friend made her way back to her seat. "In our sixth year she caught wind of Ron and Lavender and I swear you could hear her on the quidditch pitch."
"Oh that's what that was?" Draco said looking surprised. "The Slytherins all thought peeves had taken to imitating muggle operas."
Hermione stuck her tongue out at both of them. "I am not that loud!"
Harry and Draco shared a look. "We will just have to ask Remus and Sirius about that." Draco said taking a drink from his bottle while Harry choked on his drink.
"Ask us what?" Sirius said stepping out of the fireplace with Remus right behind him.
"Oh we were just talking about how loud Hermione is." Harry deadpanned while Hermione appeared to be trying to melt into her chair.
Remus blushed to the roots of his hair while Sirius chortled. "We haven't had the pleasure of figuring that out yet but when we do we will let you know."
"That's it. I'm going to murder all of you in your sleep." Hermione declared as she pushed her chair out. "Now if you are quite finished I'm going to go clean up a bit before everyone else shows up. Harry will you watch the chickens please?" Once Harry nodded his assent she flounced out of the room.
Remus shook his head chuckling. "I'm going to quite enjoy seeing what she does to the three of you in retribution, you know that right?"
Harry and Sirius nodded laughing while Draco looked concerned. "She wont actually kill us will she?"
"Draco do you know what Mione has been doing since school ended?" Remus asked curiously.
"Well no. But what does that have to do with her retribution?" Draco asked, confusion evident in his voice.
"She has been helping the Weasley twins develop their new products. You three had best be on your toes for the next few weeks." Remus said with a grin as he walked up the stairs to clean up for dinner.
"Blimey I had forgotten about that what with everything else that's been going on." Sirius said swallowing nervously.
"And you live with her so you are going to be her first target." Harry pointed out with a laugh.
"Bloody hell, how can you all be so nonchalant about this?" Draco asked, sounding more nervous than ever.
"Harry you explain it to him while I go clean up." Sirius said with a laugh as he followed his mates up the stairs.
