Hey guys I'm back! I hope none of you gave up on me thinking I'll never update again or something. Seriously with APs, Finals, SATs, and ACTs, people tend to do what needs to be done first. Anyway thanks for waiting so long and here is a chapter as an award for waiting and to kick off summer :)

Chapter 10

"Mou, Killua, I think we should wait for Wendy and Charle." Said Gon after glancing back at the exhausted dragonslayer and her flying feline companion. Said mages were breathing laboriously and struggling to keep up with the hunters. Both of the girls were drenched in sweat and flushed pink while trying to keep up with the pace the hunters were setting.

The hunters, on the other hand, looked completely fine after running a full 4 miles without stopping. Wendy, seeing Gon turn around, straightened her posture and tried to appear less tired than she really was. Of course she failed. Wendy looked like she was on the verge of collapsing, yet she stood as proud as an exhausted 12 year old girl could with determination.

Seeing this, Killua had to deny Gon of his request. "Sorry Gon, but think about how she would feel. Although we actually haven't begun training her seriously yet she is taking this as a training session." Saying this he discreetly glanced back at Wendy to see her hunched over sluggishly walking after them. "We could risk hurting her pride."

Gon pouted a little but conceded his point. When he heard, Wendy trip in the background. Killua feeling slightly sympathetic for the young girl, looked back over his shoulder to image of the dragonslayer kneeling over to catch her breath. He smirked and looked back to Gon. "But, that doesn't mean we can't take a break."

After a couple more minutes of walking, the children stumbled across a small town. As they entered the small town the boys eagerly absorbed the atmosphere while searching for a suitable place for Wendy and Charle to rest.

The girls were running on empty. Disheveled hair/fur, small tears and stains on their clothes, and sunken eyes elicited pity from the strangers in town. Some of the townsfolk even glared at the two boys blaming the sorry state of the girls on them. But, the hunters ignored the heated stares. Why would they care what others think of them?

Only a handful of the townsfolk tried to help by trying to offer water or at least a resting place for the girls. Charle looked ready to accept the kind gestures but Wendy would have none of it. This was her first step on becoming stronger and she wouldn't accept anything she perceived as a shortcut. Seeing this Gon focused on finding a nice cafe for her and possibly a good place to rest.

Killua was first to spot a small cafe that they would all like. The seats were cushioned and plush, perfect for the exhausted girls to collapse onto, it was surrounded by trees to the delight of Gon, and had several escape routes available to them if they were unexpectedly attacked.

"Lets stop here." Muttered the silverette loud enough for Wendy and Charle to hear. They lit up at the statement and dashed with a new found energy to the closest available booth where they immediately succumbed to their fatigue.

Gon followed suit, happily settling himself into the seat across from Wendy, giving her some space to unwind. Killua sat next to Gon and scoped his surroundings before he relaxed as well.

Wendy slowly sat up in order to mask her weakness but was reprimanded Killua. "If you're tired stay down." She glanced at the silverette, slightly hurt at the tone he used on her. The green clad boy translated "what he means is that if you want to rest go ahead! There isn't any reason not to."

She looked at the guys and smiled before placing her head back onto the table. Charle made herself comfortable on Wendy's shoulder and promptly fell asleep. A waiter in her mid twenties came by to ask for their orders when she spotted the exhausted girls. She turned to the hunters and began to scold them. "Shame on you two! What have you done to this cute little girl? You have to treat girls better than that you know, or you will end up old and alone."

Killua, ignored the waitress in favor of finding the meal with the most sweets (preferably chocolate) included. He heard the waitress but tuned her out as soon as she started scolding them.

Gon on the other hand looked up at the waitress in confusion. He looked back at the sleeping Wendy and Charle to examine their state and had to admit that the girls had seen better days, (even if he has only known them for a couple of days) but it wasn't their fault, was it? The girls wanted to do this so should anyone be blamed?

He looked back to the waitress who seemed to be waiting for an answer from the two of them. He didn't really know what to say but it wouldn't do to keep her waiting. "onee-san, I-" "Don't bother Gon, I doubt she would understand. Just order." Gon closed his mouth and pouted but started to look at the menu anyway.

The waitress's patience then snapped. "You two ought to be a shamed first bullying a girl your age then disrespecting your elders! Children should respect those older than them and treat girls with respect! And-! A muffled groan stopped the waitress from her triad and looked to see the bluenette and her cat waking up. "Just in time! Wendy, tell the cranky obaa-san what you would like so she can finally leave. I would like a chocolate lava cake with a chocolate milkshake." "Oh, I'll have the black forest cherry cake with milk please!" "Ano... 2 Strawberry cheesecakes and a strawberry banana smoothie please!"

Infuriated, the waitress ignored the two boys to talk to the sweet little girl. "Sweetheart you shouldn't hang around kids like them, they are bad influences and if they are only going to treat you badly then it's best that you leave them before you get hurt."Killua scoffed at the statement and propped his head on his hand to look out the window.

Wendy looked at the two boys to try to grasp what was happening only for Gon to smile and wave. She then stared at the waitress with an tangible question mark floating above her head trying to come up with a response to her. "But I'm not hurt... And I wanted to do this Gon and Killua were kind enough to let me join them even though I'm just a hindrance to them. I will get strong with them so that can fight alongside them and all my friends!"

"And Onee-san," Gon interrupted, "Wendy is strong enough to handle this after all, we're Fairy Tail mages! But I'm sorry Killua called you Obaa-san, you are a very pretty Onee-san!" he exclaimed.

The waitress didn't seem completely convinced but decided just to get the children their orders. As she walked away the 4 of started to chat about what happened and Charle reprimanding Killua for the blatant disrespect he showed, Gon laughing and Wendy smiling.

Cute ending right? I thought about making this chapter longer but then I couldn't think of anything exciting to happen next -_-. Never fear! Their will be some actual training in the next chapter where I will see whether I'm cut out for action scenes or not.
