Renjiisk

Chapter 10

Living Nightmare

It had been two weeks since the incident with Ares and Lucy. Renjiisk had not been the same since then. He didn't speak to any body nor did he went outside the forge. He was not the same charismatic and humors person he was when he arrived at Honnouji Academy, but the self he tried to forget about.

Apart from him, the rest of the academy moved on as planned before the incidents. The goku uniforms were delivered out and the original order had returned to the academy. But trouble had brewed within the academy as financial aid was needed.

Therefore, Satsuki took Ahri with her to the center of her family's power. The REVOCS tower.

"We'll be back as soon as possible," Ahri had said that night. She was holding Renjiisk and talked softly, for Renjiisk was a bloody mess. His mind was now in pieces, and every night he would awaken gasping and full of sweat. The nightmares had returned.

The nightmares of his past. His old self and the many lives he took. Without mercy, without hesitation, without regret. The reason he was able to deal with that madness was because he liked killing, he enjoyed the sight of the battlefield even after he was taken in as a Member of Oculus Rift, the squad where he trained to kill without hesitation.

But in the end he would break down sooner or later.

"You still haven't told them the real reason we here right?" A voice said.

Renjiisk was alone in the darkness of his bedroom in the forge. His bed was a mess with covers thrashed, the floor with clothes and many of his once great mirrors broken.

He was a mess as well, his dark red hair was down and messy and half of it covered his face. He had no clothes on except for his pants but the rest of his body had old scars from infamous battles, the most recent one with Ares had already began to heal. He was alone so he was startled by the voice.

"Look at you, such a pitiful sight," the voice said. The shadows began to darken until Renjiisk was sitting in a dark room. No light whatsoever. Before his very eyes, a figure appeared. The silhouette of young boy. That turned to a teenager, then finally the exact same size as Renjiisk. The figured changed until Renjiisk saw a clone of himself when he was still in Oculus Rift. The dark clothing, the armband on his right with the Rift's emblem, the one shoulder piece of armor mounted on his left. Dark jacket along with his dark red blood colored sash along his waist. Dual pistols in the back and Artemis in her scabbard at his left.

"Who the hell are you," Renjiisk asked.

"You really must be an idiot if you don't know who I am," The figure said. Renjiisk slowly got up and looked at his former self.

"You are the reason I am in this torment," he said.

"True but I am also here to get you out. Its time to face the music. You are a killer, no a monster. Everyone knows that now," He continued.

Soon the floor began to become murky and a dark substance began to arise. It grew faster by the minute. Renjiisk tried to walk but he was embolized. He turned to see red chains around him now that held him down. He kneeled as the chains wrapped around his neck, feet, and arms. The shadow Renjiisk walked forward and place his hand on Renjiisk's throat. He raised him up and the more he grew, the more the chains tightened and the more they cut down onto his flesh.

"I am not a monster!" Renjiisk yelled. The shadow laughed and wavered his robotic arm to reveal various sights. The walls showed clips of the past as Renjiisk killed, slashed, burned, and massacred many. He stared until the blood had risen almost to his neck.

"Its time to come back Jack. Its time to come and finish the job. The real reason why you came here wasn't to help this beings was it? No, it was to get the kill at close, the kill that you always wanted. Ryuko Matoi."

At that point Renjiisk lost it. He began to thrash around and the chains cutted deeper into his flesh.

MONSTER
MONSTER
MONSTER!

The liquid had overwhelmed him and he found out what it was. Blood. He was beginning to drown, drowning in the blood he had cut and spilled. Blood of those who stood in his way. The blood of family. The blood of friends. He fell into darkness, a darkness that he knew it was where he belonged.

When all seemed lost, a small array of light began to glow in the bottom of the pool. It got brighter and brighter.

The scene changed and he was no longer enchained, instead he was standing in front of a old book. It stood on a stone pillar and he walked up to it.

"The reason we fall into the darkness is always unclear," a voice said. It continued, "But I'm glad I found something more than hate and fear," the voice stopped. The pillars cracked and the room began to fall apart.

"Don't listen to this bullshit," the shadow said. But Renjiisk paid him no mind as pillar showed stone doors that opened up to reveal a long sword on a stand. It was pretty long and slightly covered. The handle was simple and the blade had one edge to it.

"The reason we fall, is to learn to pick ourselves up again."

Renjiisk picked up the sword and without hesitation, aimed and hit the shadow. Then, he impaled him in the chest.

"Your right," Renjiisk said, " I am a monster."

He swung the blade and decapitated the shadow of himself.

"I'm my own monster now."

Renjiisk awoke full of sweat and dirt. He quickly got up from the corner in which he slept and pulled his hair back. Determination on his brow and face. He got up and put on whatever shirt he could find and entered the main forge.

He lit the flames and spread the tools.

"This time, its my way," he said as he began to forge the weapon that would later become his legacy.

Renjiisk traveled down to the core of academy in the research part or the sewing club's research area. He was met by eyes of surprise as he walked through the lab like he owned the place. Iori saw him and stood in fear for a couple of seconds before going to him.

"Ah Renjiisk, glad to see you. What brings you here?"

"I need you and your help," he said as they walked to a freezer room where the remains of the enemies that Renjiisk had killed were and awaited to be destroyed.

"Help with what exactly?" Iori asked.

"I need you to make me this," Renjiisk said said as he whispered into Iori's ear and showing him on a tablet the design that he wanted for his new 'jacket.'

"Well that won't be hard," he said as he took the tablet. He let Iori off and walked in the freezer.

The remains of Ares, Dante, Lucy, and Serah were all in bags and they seemed to be clean and white as snow.

Renjiisk didn't have time for sentiments, instead he went for what he came for. He drew a small bottle and syringe from a local table and went to each corpse. He drew a small amount of blood from each and placed it in the bottle. After which he left without a emotion leaving him. But deep down he finally felt something that wasn't hate, but sorrow.

He returned to the forge where the ovens where hot and the beds steamed up from the melting iron. He raised up the bottle and looked into it. Inside the red liquid, something moved. The life fibers he had drew were the things squirming inside it. He tossed it up and caught it in his hand.

"This was imminent," he said as he put the black apron and grabbed the nearest hammer and began to work the metal, slamming it so he could resmelt it one finale time.

As the metal began to turn into deep liquid inside the bucket, Renjiisk raised the flame every second. Finally after a night of waiting, it was ready to be forged. He poured it out into a mold that he had made while waited for the smelting to be complete. It hissed as it touched the metal. As it filled up, Renjiisk took the bottle and opened it. Dropping the blood, drip by drip, the color changed and the metal hardened as the life fibers were becoming fossils and the strong metal that it produced.

Then the hammering began. He hammered away giving the metal its form. The bangs could be heard through the entire school. To some it sounded like annoyance, some it meant something. But there was one person who heard it at the gates of Honnouji that knew what it meant. It meant that Jack the Ripper had returned.

Renjiisk finished the blade and let it cool after its sharing and cool downs with water. He had finished it and a scrap board as well. The sword was slightly covered and double edged with fine chrome lining. The handle was made of wood with simple diamond design from the fibers he had used. The guard was made from the same metal but had a red lining in which the life fibers had turnaround.

He grabbed the sword and took it with him as he walked out the forge and unto the main courtyard. He had on nothing but his loner black robe leggings he had brought the first day he arrived and the blacksmith's apron.

The courtyard was empty but opposite of him stood a man bigger than him in muscles and size. Little could be said about this man except he had silver hair, wrinkles, but he wasn't too old either. He had on metalic leggings and boots and simple robe style top with shoulder guards and arm pads. He had two swords strapped to him around his waist. He had a cigar in his mouth and he threw it down as he walked forward.

"Knew you'd come," Renjiisk said to the old man.

"Really? How'd you know that lad?" He said.

"Have you forgotten alrighty what you taught me?" Renjiisk said, "Zeus?"

The old man looked up and gave Renjiisk a small grin.

"Being a while lad. I see you were able to fend off pretty nicely eh?" He said as he began to walk in a U shape.

"Something you always told me was to always be prepared and so I have been."

"Good, good. Then you should know why I'm here," he said as he stood in front of Renjiisk, his hands behind his back.

"To try and take me back to that god forsaken place. My answer is no," Renjiisk said.

"What?! No, no you misunderstand lad," He said as he reached for something in his back. He pulled out a empty scoreboard and tossed it to Renjiisk. He caught it and examined it.

"This is...!"

"Where Artemis should be. Yes I know. So this is the thing," he said as he walked forward.

"For the sake of Oculus Rift, lets come to an understanding. I help you and you help me," he said.

"What if I-"

"I ain't asking you," Zeus interrupted.

"What is it then?"

"You want Artemis back right? And I want that idiot Delsin out of REVOCS so Lady Satsuki can take over. The official meeting is in France, but Artemis is being held in REVOCS tower in central Tokyo. Now, Delsin likes to come to Tokyo for 'research'. Two birds one stone," he finished as he pulled another cigar and lit it in his mouth.

"Artemis," he said as he held the scrap board with his free hand.

"I'll kill Delsin, and take back Artemis, that I promise. But after this I'm coming back to kill the rest. You understand old man?"

Zeus smiled and nodded.

"Thats my boy."

Renjiisk hunged up the phone and looked straight ahead.

"Don't worry Artemis, I'm coming to get you. Just sit tight." He said as he looked out the bow of the ship to the city. From Tokyo Harbor he could see the tall REVOCS building. It was night time and he it had began to pour heavily.

He had on his new coat that Iori had made him and the iron shoulder pad on his right. A hood from under the coat covered up his head and most of his face.

There was footsteps and Renjiisk turned around to see a very nude man that only had on very few clothing and small jacket to cover him from the rain.

"You ready," he said and Renjiisk nodded.

"I'll leave the rest to you, Mr. Mikisugi," Renjiisk replied.

The man used his hand to flip his blue hair back to reveal his model like face.

"Of course."
