AN: I'll probably only be able once a month for a while. Maybe twice if I have time. I hope you guys enjoy the chapter! By the way the Kai that is in here so far is Suhn's husband. Sorry if that confused anybody.
Lin eyes slowly opened and squinted against the light. She tried to push herself up but her arms felt weak. Someone places their hand on her back and helps her up into a sitting position. Her vision cleared to see Taio. He stared at her with a worried expression.
"Are you all right, Lin?" His voice was early audible.
"Y...yeah." Lin coughed out. Her throat as dry as a desert.
"Here." Taio passed her a glass of water as the door creaked open and the twins walked in along with Suhn and Kai. Suhn carried a tray of food towards the bed.
"We made you cabbage soup Lin." Kai said as he let out a huge grin. Lin glared at him.
"Why are you guys all babying me?" Lin crossed her arms. She couldn't remember exactly what happened.
"Mom, you fainted remember? You also puked on some of Gommu's bushes. He came to complain but you fainted so he left." Ela informed her.
"What day is it? Did I sleep for a long time?"
"Not really. You passed out yesterday and now it's almost 9 pm." Taio responded as he glanced to his watch.
"Don't you guys have work tomorrow?" Lin looked to her Suhn and Kai.
"We'll Kai does. I am free to tomorrow." Suhn responded.
"Oh... Mom we were supposed to stay over at Aunt Suhn's place yesterday but... Y'know? So I was wondering should we stay with you for a few more days or go?" Nyla asked nervously. The last few months her mom was giving her metalbending lessons and she wasn't able to see Kenji. Ela punched her shoulder.
"All you can think of is going on dates with Kenji!" She joked humorously.
"Hey! We haven't been on a date for a week!" Kenji defended himself as he peeked through the doorframe.
"Enough. Just go already you guys are giving me a headache and I wanna sleep." Lin pulled the blanket closer and closed her eyes. The blanket was pulled off and cold air enveloped her.
"Lin you have to eat!" Suhn said as she passed the blanket to Taio. "Do I need to feed you like a little kid. Actually let's go Taio can handle this. Feel better Linny-Bear!" Everyone started heading out. The twins rushed over to Lin gave them her a peck on the cheek.
"Here mom, this is medicine for your fever. You've been overworking. You need to take better care of your body." Ela passed her mom a container of pills.
"Taio can help with that!" Kai shouted back as Lin and Taio's face turned slightly red. Kai chuckled loudly at their reactions.
"Uncle, really?" The twins shook their head at him but laughed a little.
"Nyla! I'm going to be your father in law soon! No need to call me uncle anymore!" Kai laughed as Nyla and his son's face flushed red.
"I call you Uncle due to respect old man!" This only gave fuel to Kai's laughter.
"We'll Lin I'll leave this with you." Kai said as he glanced to a huge pile of paperwork. With that they all left. Lin groaned and buried her face in the pillow.
"Damn Kai and his cabbages!" Her voice was slightly muffled by the pillow. Taio laughed at her.
"Here, Lin. You need to eat." He said as he sat down on the bed.
"I am not hungry." Her stomach growled as she said it.
"Oh we'll I guess I'll just eat this myself." Lin glared at him as he held the spoon near his mouth. Taio took a sip of the soup and glanced back at Lin.
"Taio! I'm starving over here and yet you eat my food? What kind of a CARING husband are you?"
"Here do you want me to feed you?" He put the spoon next to Lin's mouth. She turned her head away. Taio leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. As he pulled back he saw Lin's cheek slightly redden. Taio smiled at her expression.
"... I can eat by myself..." She reached out for the spoon and kept spilling the soup as her hands were shaky. Taio was moving the bowl frantically to catch the soup before it hit the bed. He took the spoon back and let out a small laugh.
"Maybe I should help you."
"Fine." Lin wanted to sound more mad at him yet his smiling face made her voice soften.
Taio woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the front door. He was about to tell the kids to open the door but remembered they weren't home. He looked down at Lin sleeping quietly against his chest. He kissed her forehead and slowly got out of bed. She grunted a little but fell silent again. He walked to the door. 'Who could be here so early in the morning?' He yawned and ran his hand through his hair. 'I'm too lazy to go get ready.' He pulled on a dark green robe and opened the door to his room, he left it open in case Lin woke up due to the sound of the door closing. He heard another knock on the door. 'This better be worth me getting up so early. If it's Bumi again I swear I'm going to earth bend his but to Ba Sing Se.' Taio pulled the door open. "What do you need Bu-" his sentence broke off as he saw red and yellow robes. Taio was quite tall but he still had to look up a little to meet Tenzin's eyes.
"Uh... I'm sorry to disturb you Taio but I heard that Lin wasn't feeling well so I dropped by to visit." Tenzin pulled at his collar feeling hot even though it was freezing outside. Taio glared at him for awhile.
"Lin is still asleep. I'm sure you want to check up on her and apologize but now is not a go-"
"Taio... What are you doing? You are letting cold air into the room." Lin's voice cut off his sentence. He glanced back to make sure she was still in the room.
"As I was saying Tenzin, you should leave. I will tell Lin you were here and maybe we can all go out and have lunch sometimes ok?" Taio was joking about going to lunch and tried his best to smile as he tried to shut the door.
"That would be great. When do you think you two will have time?" Taio stared at Tenzin with amusement.
"Tenzin I was kidding so please just leave my family alone. You are making things hard for us."
"Taio I know you are upset but-"
"Taio! I'm cold! What are you doing leaving the door open. Can you please shut it?" Lin growled. Taio tried to keep his laughter in as he heard Lin say please.
"I'm just taking out the trash and feeding the badger moles!" He shouted back.
"Could I jus-" Tenzin tried to speak but Taio cut him off.
"Doesn't the Council meeting start soon? You should get going. Have a good day Tenzin." Taio grabbed the trash and sighed as he stepped outside and shut the door behind him.
"Wait! Taio!" Tenzin followed him. Taio blocked him out and took the trash out and marched to the backyard. Tenzin continued to follow him. He open the fence and stepped into the yard.
"Tenzin, I don't want to do this you but... This is our property and if you insist on entering, I will count this as trespassing." He closed the gate and walked to the back. 'That man sure is persistent.' He feed the badger moles and went through the back door in case Tenzin was still there. He washed his hands and went back into his room. He paced his robe on a hanger and climbed back into bed.
"Who was it?" Lin mumbled as she rested her head against his chest.
"I think you already know." Lin stayed quiet and then gave Taio a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm going back to bed." She said and Taio nodded.
'I need to find away to stop Tenzin from bothering us all the time.' Taio shut his eyes and fell asleep.

"Hey, Ela! It's almost dad's birthday. What should we do?" Nyla asked her twin as they got into Kenji's satomobile. Kenji started the car as Kitana jumped in the back with Ela.
"So where do you guys want to eat lunch?" Kenji asked them.
"I'm not sure Ny. We should go to Narook's." Ela replied.
"We ALWAYS eat at Narook's! You water benders and your seaweed noodles." Nyla threw her hands in the air.
"Hey you decided to drag me and Kitana along with you on your date! So at least let me eat my favorite food!"
"Why don't we have a vote?" Kitana asked trying to stop the twins argument.
"Well Kenji probably wants barbecue like always." Ela grumbled.
"You got that right!" Kenji laughed. "What do you want Ny?" He turned to his grouchy girlfriend.
"Anything but cabbage soup..." Nyla mumbled.
"Hey! Our dad makes the BEST cabbage soup! I swear!" Kitana said sarcastically.
"Yeah, and my mom makes the BEST seaweed noodles!" Ela retorted.
"You know what, let's play Rock Paper Scissors!" Kenji shouted.
"I'm gonna kick your ass!" Nyla rolled up her sleeve.
"Oh please, we all know you pick rock 99 percent of the time!" Ela stood up from her seat.
"You're looking I'm not driving Ela." Ela scoffed at his comment.
"I'm as sturdy as a rock!" Ela exclaimed.
"You're not even an earth bender!" The three earth benders replied
"Whatever! I'm a Beifong so by default I'm gonna send your ass to Ba Sing Se!"
Kenji parked the car and the girls jumped out. Ela fist pumped into the air as the other two girls trailed behind her defeated.
"Like I said, I beat all of you badger moles!" Ela shouted amusedly. Kenji smiled nervously as the group headed to Narook's.
"Why don't we have a rematch?" Nyla growled.
"This is the 4th time this month that we've been here! Spare us Eela." Kitana dragged out Ela's name,
"Did you just call me EEL-A?!" She glared at Kitana. Kitana put her hands up defensively.
"Of course not." Kitana responded sarcastically and smiled.
"Let's just eat guys I'm starving!" Kenji announced as he grabbed Nyla's wrist and dragged her inside the restaurant. The two girls left behind sighed as the lovebirds ran off. Ela put her arm around Kitana's shoulder and followed her twin and Kenji.
"You know, this makes me feel short right?" Kitana's head barely passed Ela's shoulder.
"I know!"
Lin glanced at her husband as they sat in their backyard watching the baby badger moles play around. Taio stared at them with a nostalgic look. 'I still remember when the twins were little. Seemed like yesterday.' He tought.
"So, it's almost you birthday. What would you like?" Lin asked awkwardly. Taio didn't hear her due to him being in his own world.
"Ahh kids." Taio was talking about their kids and the baby badger moles as they playfully fought with one another. He turned to see Lin's cheek slightly red.
"Well...if...I...kids...I'm...you know..." Lin mumbled incoherently.
"What's wrong dear?" Taio placed his hand on her forehead to make sure her fever was down and leaned in closer to her. Lin's face became redder.
"No-nothing..." She glanced away. 'Why am I blushing like a love struck teenager?!' Lin mentally yelled at her self. 'I mean I'm not sure if having Anita kid while we are in our forties is a good idea... But if that's what Taio wants then I guess.'
"Are you sure?" He asked worriedly.
"Okay Taio, let's have another kid!" Lin announced confidently as she thought about it. Her husband looked at her confused.
"I mean, only if you want! I-it's no-no-not like we have to but... You, you as-asked s-." Taio cut her off with a kiss. As he pulled away he let out a small laugh.
"Sure,why not! I mean Tenzin and Pema are still popping out kids!" He said humorously. Lin let out a laugh and stared at him lovingly.
"I'm so glad I'm with you Taio." She whispered as she rested her head against his chest and he stroked her hair.
AN: So this took awhile... Sorry if this chapter seemed slow and nothing happened. Things we'll pick up soon. Or eventually. I hope you liked this chapter. I'm thinking of writing another story filled with one shots of the Beifongs plus friends. If you have any ideas for me I would love to hear them.
