Hero's Tourney
(A/N: MADE A(smallish) REVISION TO LAST CHAPTER. READ TO MAKE SENSE OF SOME CURRENT EVENTS IN THIS CHAPTER.
To SeanHicks4, thanks for catching that 'telekinetic'/ 'telepathic' mistake. And to the guest reviewers, yes I know my updating time sucks, but I have school to deal with. And thanks to the one who reminded me that Hiei uses Demon Energy(though in actuality, is it really that big a deal in a crossover like this? And also, which does Kurama use again?). Also, I'd appreciate a bit more feedback, at least compared to what I got last chapter)
Chapter 10
The heroes(minus Gohan, Yusuke and Kuwabara) all gathered around the Supreme Kai, waiting for an explanation. "As Goku stated before, both Spopovitch and Yamu have gained powers that they had not previously had." he started. "I'd assume you'd want us to stop them from winning the tournament for some reason, but Videl and Hiei have already taken care of that," Kurama stated. 'Come to think of it, where did she drag Gohan off to?' he wondered. "Yes Kurama, however it's not Spopovitch and Yamu that concern me," Supreme Kai answered. "It's the wizard that controls them." The fighters all gasped. "A wizard?" Goku asked. Supreme Kai nodded. "Spopovitch and Yamu are merely pawns in a much greater scheme," he continued. "And that scheme starts at this tournament." he said with urgency in his voice.
"But, like Kurama said, we already beat them so everything's fine now right?" Krillin asked. "Foolish mortal," Kibito said. "Their true aim isn't this tournament. They're trying to amass a large amount of pure energy." he explained. "Energy? What for?" Goku asked. "I will reveal that, after they have made their move." Supreme Kai said. "Is that wise?" Kurama asked. "Excuse me?" "It seems pretty pointless to keep us in the dark at this point. Wouldn't it be easier for us to assist you if we know what we're up against?" Kurama said. "My decision is final." Supreme Kai said. "For now, Hiei, what did you gather from Yamu?" Kai asked. Hiei narrowed his eyes. "I saw a weird device I assume they'll be using to siphon energy. I also saw an outline of the tournament bracket. I think it's safe to assume they'll be attacking one of the participants, though I'm unsure who. I also saw a demonic red figure. One thing I noticed is that both the demon and the device had an 'M' symbol on them." Hiei explained. "An 'M'?" Vegeta asked. "Is that really relevant?" "I assure you, it is Vegeta." Supreme Kai said.
"So what are we supposed to do?" Piccolo asked. "For now, I think it's best we continue the tournament. Spopovitch and Yamu are sure to strike sometime before the tournament ends. Until then, keep your guards up." he warned. "Right." Goku said confidently.
(Just behind the Z-Fighters)
Goten and Trunks were about to go tell the grown-ups what they had previously heard. They stopped when they heard Supreme Kai give the explanation of what he already knew to the others. "Uh Trunks, you think the adults already know about those two weird guys?" Goten asked. "They do now. That Shin guy just told them." Trunks responded. "Does this mean we can't be spies anymore?" Goten asked. "Looks like it." Trunks said. Goten sighed. "Aww man!" "Don't worry about it too much Goten. We'll get our chance later. Right now, whadaya say we grab a snack?" Trunks suggested. "Snack!? You're on!" Goten said. The two kids zipped away to the concession stand."
(A moment later)
The teenage warriors joined back up with the adults. "Hey Dad, did the next fight start yet?" Gohan asked. "You're just in time Gohan. It's Krillin vs. Supreme Kai." Goku said. "Really? You think he can win?" Gohan asked. "Well, he is stronger than King Kai at least. We'll just have to see." Goku stated.
(Ring)
Krillin and Supreme Kai took their respective stances on the ring. 'Okay Krillin, calm down. You may be fighting the Supreme Kai, but this is still just a Tournament. You can still…' Krillin's thoughts were interrupted by the smug look on Supreme Kai's face. 'You're gonna f**king die when Eighteen kills you for losing this match.'
"ALRIGHT! The next fight is Krillin versus Shin!" yelled the announcer.
Match 9: Krillin vs. Shin(Supreme Kai)
"And begin!"
Krillin stood in his defensive stance, inwardly sweating bullets. 'Dammit, what do I do? I can't fight the Supreme Kai!' he thought. The person in question smirked. "Well, since you don't seem to be fully into this, I guess I'll make the first move," Supreme Kai said. Shin started hovering in the air and flew at Krillin with his hand set to chop him. Just as Supreme Kai was about to strike, Krillin yelled at the top of his lungs and threw a punch without even aiming. Shin wasn't expecting Krillin to react like that, and flew upward to try and avoid getting punched in the face, only to get nailed in the gut, albeit barely.
Supreme Kai landed and stumbled backwards. Krillin opened his eyes to see Supreme Kai holding his gut. 'Wait…he really can't take a hit?' Krillin thought. Supreme Kai finally recovered and took a stance again. Krillin gained a confident smirk. "You know, for a divine being, you're pretty fragile," Krillin started smack talking. "Lucky shot earthling." Supreme Kai countered. Krillin flew at Shin full speed and Shin did the same. Supreme Kai tried chopping at Krillin again, only for Krillin to block it with his forearm. "Try this!" Krillin formed an energy ball in his hand and struck Supreme Kai in the chest, causing an explosion and blowing him back. Krillin pursued Supreme Kai in the air and followed up with a dropkick. Supreme Kai put his guard up and defended from Krillin's attack. With a yell, Supreme Kai's eyes glowed and he sent out an invisible burst of energy that blew Krillin away.
"Whoa!" Krillin said straitening himself out. With another yell, Supreme Kai thrust his hands forward, and Krillin found himself unable to move. "What the-?" "Just a simple paralysis spell." Supreme Kai said. He floated over to Krillin and proceeded to elbow him in the chest, knee him in the gut and dealt an overhead blow that sent Krillin hurtling towards the ground. Krillin slammed against the ring floor hard. "Yowch!" he yelled holding his head. 'Ya know, I don't know why I'm so surprised. He's the Supreme Kai right? He's supposed to be powerful. But still, I'm fighting him on par!' Krillin thought. 'Unless…he might be holding back!' he thought fearfully. "I gotta finish this up quickly!" Krillin proclaimed.
He quickly zipped back to Supreme Kai and kicked him in the midsection hard. Supreme Kai flew backwards holding his chest. "Time to end this, kamehameeeeeeee…!" Krillin started charging up. "HAAAAAA!" Krillin fired the Turtle School's signature blast, nailing Supreme Kai dead on. The resulting flash faded to reveal Supreme Kai smoking, with his guard up. He took some noticeable damage, but was otherwise okay. "That was very impressive Krillin. I must admit, if I hadn't have managed to guard that attack, this match would be over. But now I do believe, it's my turn." Supreme Kai replied. Supreme Kai pulled his arms back gathering energy. "This is the end: Violent God Cannon(Gekiretsu Shin'ou'hou)!" Supreme Kai fired a similar blue energy wave at Krillin, also hitting him at point blank range.
Krillin tried to defend from the attack, but was ultimately unable to defend from the full force of it. Krillin's guard was broken and he landed barely an inch outside of the ring.
"And Krillin has landed outside of the ring! The winner of the match is Shin!" called the announcer.
Winner: Shin(Supreme Kai)
Krillin picked himself off the ground. "Well, can't say I didn't see that coming." Krillin said under his breath. "Don't be too discouraged Krillin. I do admit, you almost beat me more than a couple of times." Supreme Kai said. "And I wouldn't worry about Eighteen too much. After all, I have no need money where I come from," he said walking away. 'Crapbaskets! I forgot about her!' Krillin thought. 'Didn't I just tell him not worry?' Supreme Kai thought. '(Sighs) Earthlings.'
Krillin and Shin worked their ways back to the viewing area. "Man Krillin that was a pretty sweet battle." Goku said. "Yeah, but I lost. I know I was fighting the Supreme Kai, but still," Krillin reminded him. "Aww who cares? It was still an awesome bout, right?" Goku replied. Krillin sweated. "I know someone who cares," Krillin said pointing behind Goku. Goku and the teenagers turned to see Eighteen shooting Krillin a dirty look, one that sent chills up his spine. "Ohhhh…right." Goku said sweat dropping(anime styled). Yusuke chuckled. "Oh yeah, he is DEFINETELY sleeping on the couch when this is over," Yusuke joked. "SHUT UP!" Krillin shouted.
The Spirit Detectives started laughing out loud(except Hiei) and even Gohan couldn't help but chuckle. Krillin took notice of that small detail. "I wouldn't laugh if I were you Gohan," Krillin started. "After all, did you forget your next match?" Krillin reminded him with a sly smirk. Gohan's expression turned fearful. 'Crap! He's right, I have to fight Videl next!' he remembered. The girl in question hadn't returned after she left Gohan previously.
(With Videl)
Videl was pacing back and forth in the Women's locker room. 'Stupid Gohan! He thinks he's so cool with his retarded hero costume and stupid poses!' she mentally ranted. "Just who the hell does he think he is!?" she yelled. 'He's the one who really defeated Cell. He also saved your life a couple of times.' she thought while sitting on the bench, emotionally cooling down. 'Why can't I stay mad at him?' she mentally asked herself. She thought she found an answer, it just wasn't one she necessarily liked. "I…don't think I wanna fight Gohan anymore." she said to herself.
(At the stage)
"Will the next two fighters make their way to the ring?" asked the announcer.
(Viewing Area)
Krillin chuckled. "Well Gohan, how does it feel to have to fight your girlfriend?" he said suggestively. "Shut up Krillin!" Gohan yelled back. "Why have you been torturing me about that this whole story?" Gohan asked. "Aside from the author's inability to do decent comedy," Krillin started, "This is payback!" Krillin proclaimed. "Payback for what?" Gohan asked cluelessly. Krillin narrowed his eyes. "Don't you remember?"
(Flashback)
The Z-Fighters were on the Lookout after the Cell games. Android #18 had just come to from unconsciousness and Piccolo let her know that Krillin was the one to thank after she came out of Cell.
"I got it!" Young Gohan started. "Krillin, you have a crush on Android #18 don't you!" he asked. Krillin proceeded to pound Gohan in the head. "She's standing right there big mouth!"
(End Flashback)
"That's what this is about?" Gohan asked. Goku and the Spirit Detectives started chuckling. Even Piccolo couldn't hold back from that one. "Krillin, you married her for Kami's sake! Shouldn't you be thanking me!?" Gohan replied. Krillin shrugged. "Ahh, details." Krillin said. Gohan sighed. 'Ohh, why me?' he thought. Goku was still giggling, until he realized that Videl was nowhere in sight. "Hey, wait a second, where is Videl?" he asked. "She…needs some alone time." Yusuke answered. "Why? Did something happen, or is it a girl thing?" Goku asked. "Why don't you ask Gohan." Kuwabara said smugly. The young saiyan turned his head away while blushing. "Gohan…what're you not telling us?" Krillin asked . "It's nothing! Really!" Gohan shouted. "Mmmhmm." Everyone said, not believing him. Gohan turned and started running.
"Where ya goin' Gohan?" Krillin asked. "Where else? To find Videl." he answered. "Good luck Gohan." Krillin said in a singsong voice. Gohan blushed and kept running. "He so likes her," Krillin said. "Well duh!" Kuwabara responded. "By the way guys, what did happen between them?" Goku asked. "We'll tell you later," Yusuke replied while starting to run. "Where're you going Detective?" Hiei asked. "To give Gohan a hand," Yusuke answered. "Anyone wanna help?" Yusuke answered while running again. "Wait up Urameshi!" Kuwabara called going after him. Kurama sighed. "Well, someone's got to keep those two out of trouble," he said following Kuwabara's lead. Hiei kept still where he was. "Aren't you going to help them?" Vegeta asked. "Why should I waist my time searching for a smart mouthed human girl?" Hiei responded. Vegeta smirked. 'I knew he wasn't a normal earthling. He could've potentially have been a decent Saiyan," he thought.
(With Videl)
Videl was laying down on the bench. 'Now I know why he doesn't want to fight me. He thinks I'm not worth his time. And he's probably right. After all, my father lied to the whole world, including me. Not only that, he took credit for Gohan's victory.' "He probably hates me for being my father's daughter." "Oh grow up you foolish little girl." Videl sat up to see Genkai. "Not now Genkai. I'm not in the mood." Videl replied. Genkai sighed. "If there's one thing I can't stand, it's an angsty teenage drama." Genkai said. "Like I said before, you'll never get stronger until you master your emotions! And it's important to increase not only your physical strength, but your emotional strength as well." she shouted.
Videl looked at Genkai with a legitimately interested look. "How do I do that?" she asked. "No one can give a complete answer to that, but the best advice I can offer is listen to heart." Genkai replied. "What do you-?" Videl started. "I'm sure you know exactly what I mean Videl." Genkai said snickering. Videl blushed and turned away from her. "Also, remember: It'll be easier to admit the truth when you admit it to yourself first." Genkai added. Videl stood in deep thought, until she was interrupted by the sound of her name being called. "Videl!" 'That's Gohan's voice!' she noted. Videl turned around to see that Genkai had disappeared. "Over here!" she heard Yusuke's voice say close to the locker room.
(Outside the locker room.)
"I refuse!" Kurama said. "C'mon Kurama, it's the only place we haven't checked, and you're the only one here who can go in, no problem." Yusuke said. "Don't make him do it Urameshi!", Kuwabara yelled. "He's right," Gohan added. "We'll just head back and grab Eighteen and…" Gohan stopped when Videl finally decided to come out of the locker room. "Hey boys, what's up?" she asked smugly. "What's up!? I dunno what you women do when you disappear like that, and frankly I don't WANT to, but you delayed the next match and everyone, your dad included, is getting restless!" Yusuke answered in an annoyed tone. "My Dad?"
(Flashback)
Gohan and the Spirit Detectives were running across the stadium looking for their female fighter friend. "Dammit, where could she be?" Yusuke asked. "I dunno, but I'm started to get worried," Gohan added. "Don't worry Gohan, I'm positive she's fine. She probably just needed some time alone," Kurama noted. "Yeah, pretty sure it's a girl thing." said Kuwabara. "Did you guys forget about Spopovitch and Yamu?" Gohan asked. "Gaaah! I forgot!" Yusuke said "Honestly Yusuke, we just learned about them." Kurama said. 'Great. Now if anything happens to her, it'll be my fault.' Gohan thought fearfully.
(Meanwhile)
Hercule was in his quarters still thinking of a way to regain his credibility when he got some…discouraging news. "Uhh…Mr. Satan…." Said an official who entered the room. "Yeah, what is it?" (Five seconds later). "WHAT!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE HASN'T SHOWN UP FOR HER MATCH!?" Hercule boomed. "No daughter of mine is going to bail on a tournament match!" he said sternly. "Uhh sir, if I may, that may be the reason she's disappeared." said the official. "What're you-? (GASP!)" "You may be right. I've put to much pressure on the poor girl! Quick, gather some more guys and help me find her!" Hercule ordered. "Yes sir!"
(A moment later)
Hercule stormed the tournament grounds looking for Videl. Eventually, he bumped into Gohan, Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Kurama. "You boys!" Hercule exclaimed. "I know you!" he said pointing to Yusuke. "You're the tricky kid I fought earlier!" Yusuke chuckled. "You mean the dude who totally kicked your ass!" Yusuke shot back. Hercule crossed his arms. "Anything's possible for a cheating punk like you!" He said smugly. A vein popped on Yusuke's forehead. "Look here you stupid old bast-!" he started. "Guys! Can this wait until AFTER we find Videl?" Gohan interjected. Hercule looked at Gohan. "Hmm? Who are you supposed to be?" he asked. "He's your daughter's opponent in the next match," Kurama answered.
Hercule let out his trademark booming laugh. "DAHAHAHA, a skinny wimp like you!? How'd you even get passed the preliminaries!? Dahahaha!" The guys all sweat dropped. 'He does realize Gohan has more muscle mass right?' Kurama thought. "Stop laughing dammit!" Kuwabara bellowed. "For starters, you should never judge a book by it's cover." he started. 'I've had to learn that the hard way," he mentally added. "Second, I'll have you know that Gohan here is the son of the great Son Goku!" Kuwabara threw in.
"Son Goku? That cheating nobody? Now I know this is gonna be an easy win for Videl." Hercule said arrogantly. Gohan's expression became visibly pissed. "Hey, don't call my dad a cheater." Gohan exclaimed. "Yeah!" added Kuwabara. "At the VERY least he's man enough to take defeat gracefully." "And also, those 'tricks' as you call them," Kurama started, "I can assure you, they're very real." Kurama smirked. "After all, Videl can use special techniques as well." he said smugly. "What're you talkin' about pretty boy?" Hercule asked. Before anyone could answer, an official showed up. "Sir, we've got to find your daughter fast. The spectators are getting very antsy!" the official informed him. "Right as soon as I-Hercule started. He turned only to find the boys gone. "As soon as what sir?" "Uhh nothing."
(End Flashback)
"Well then, what're we waiting for?" Videl asked. "You!" The boys, minus Gohan answered. "Right…anyway, let's get going Gohan." she said dashing off. "R-right," Gohan said running after her. "You heard the lady, let's go!" said Yusuke, with his friends following him.
(A moment later)
Videl and Gohan were practically racing to the ring, sprinting right past Goku and the others. "What happened with them?" Goku asked. "Literally…nothing." Yusuke answered.
(At the ring)
Videl and Gohan both slowed down to walking to the ring as the announcer started giving the Bios on the two. "You all know Videl, the daughter of the recently dethroned champ Hercule. She managed an impressive come from behind victory in the previous round to get here now. Her opponent is Gohan, who is the son of another previous champion, Goku. I promise you're in for a good match as the kids of two previous champions face off!" he said.
The two took their respective stances. Gohan looked at Videl very nervously. 'Great. She's probably still mad at me. I didn't even mean what I said. I really wanted to say [I wouldn't want to fight you any other way]. But now, I may be in for more than I bargained for.' he thought. He then took notice of Videl's expression. 'Wait, she seems…a lot less tense than before.' he thought.
Match 10: Videl vs. Gohan
"And…you may begin!"
Videl immediately lunged at Gohan and aimed a kick to his face. Gohan, stunned a little, managed to bring his arm up to block it. Videl hovered in midair and round kicked Gohan towards the head again with her other leg. Gohan ducked under it and dashed backwards. Videl landed and launched herself after him. 'Oh great, she's fighting hard,' Gohan thought. 'But something's different. She always fights seriously, but this seems more aggressive than usual,' Gohan noted. Videl attacked Gohan with a barrage of punches that Gohan had no problem blocking.
(Sidelines)
Everyone(minus Vegeta and Hiei) was noticeably giggling at Gohan and Videl's fight. "So…who called Gohan being defensive for the bulk of this match?" Yusuke joked. "Naturally, everyone." Krillin said. "Still, I don't know why but this seems weirdly familiar…" he added. Goku knew just what Krillin meant as he had a vivid flashback of his fight with Chi-Chi at the Tournament. 'Like father like son, Gohan. He's a chip-off-the old block for sure," Goku thought.
(Fight)
Gohan was still defending from Videl's seemingly endless barrage. The longer he kept blocking and dodging, the more visibly agitated she seemed to get. Unbeknownst to Gohan, she had backed him to the edge of the ring. Videl finally stopped her assault and leapt backwards. Gohan dropped his guard and sighed a sigh or relief. 'Damn you Gohan! Why do I always find myself being tormented by you!?' Videl mentally asked.
She lunged at Gohan again and aimed a kick to the gut, hoping to knock him out of the ring. Gohan finally realized his situation and re-raised his guard. He took the full force of Videl's attack and his arms were tingling. 'Whoa! I actually felt that.' Gohan thought, somewhat impressed. 'But ho-right, she's been training with Genkai! And the fact that she may be boiling mad right now. Must've done more than I thought.' Gohan thought. Runing out of room to back up, Gohan took to the air. Videl naturally followed suit. "Gohan," Videl started. "I'm going to enjoy this." she finished while cracking her knuckles. Videl threw a punch at Gohan, which he caught. While holding her arm, Gohan spun her around and managed to get her into a full nelson. Assured he had a good hold on her, he descended back to the ring floor.
"Videl, I need to talk to you." He said in her ear. "We can talk after I beat you, now let go of me!" she replied, struggling to get free. "Videl, I'm sorry I said that, it just came out wrong." he tried to explain. "What're you talking about?" she asked. "When you said you weren't gonna hold back, I meant to say 'I wouldn't want to fight you any other way.'" he said. "What?" "You're a really strong girl Videl. If you didn't give it your all," he said smiling, "you just wouldn't be you." he finished.
Videl blushed as her heartbeat got faster. 'He…thinks I'm strong….' Videl chuckled. "That may be true Gohan, but look who's holding back now." she noted. Gohan got a cocky smirk on his face. "I think you're forgetting, I'm the one who has you immobilized." he reminded her. 'Not for long Son' she thought. Videl continued to try and wriggle free, only for Gohan to increase his hold on her, eventually lifting her off the ground. 'Gotcha!' Videl swung her legs upward and, in an impressive display of flexibility, locked her legs around Gohan's neck. Using ki to levitate herself, she flipped Gohan over and slammed him forward…on his head.
(Sidelines)
"Ohhhh! That looked painful." Kuwabara noted. "Yeah, but did you see how Videl got out of that though?" Krillin said suggestively. "Silly Gohan. It's not even the first date and he's already trying for third base." Yusuke joked. "Guys, this isn't baseball, it's a fighting tournament." Goku said. Krillin and Yusuke face palmed.
(Fight)
Gohan picked himself up, his face a dark shade of red. "I think…I need an adult." "We're both adults, now get up!" Videl called to him. Gohan shook himself back to reality and sprung back up in his stance. This time, the two combatants flew at each other. In the middle of the ring, Videl was attacking Gohan with a barrage of puches and kicks. As usual, Gohan was having no trouble blocking and dodging. 'This is almost like that bout in the city,' Gohan and Videl both thought. 'Except this time, there will be a winner!' They mentally finished. Gohan caught one of Videl's punches and grabbed her arm. He then proceeded to flip her overhead and toss her to the other side of the ring.
'Oh perfect. I still can't bring myself to attack her.' Gohan thought. He sighed realizing the only option left. 'Well, if ya can't punch em', blast em'' he thought. "Gohan, fight seriously!" Videl yelled at him. Gohan placed his hands above his head in a familiar stance. "As you wish, 'milady'." he replied. Videl rushed Gohan again. Just as she got close to him, Gohan unleashed his attack. "Masenko-ha!" Gohan fired his weaker ki blast attack, nailing Videl and throwing her to the ground. Gohan saw her take the hit, and immediately regretted everything. "Oh no!" he exclaimed. "What've I done?" he said quietly. "Simple, you got me…for once." said the familiar taunting voice of Videl.
Gohan looked to see the girl standing in front of him with her arms crossed. "How did…" Gohan started. "C'mon Gohan. I know you can do better than that. And you know it'll take more than that to beat me. Now for the last time Gohan, stop holding back." she demanded.
Gohan took a deep breath. "Okay then, let's make this the decisive clash." he proclaimed. 'It's now or never.' Videl thought. She brought both of her arms back behind her, and they both started glowing a light blue-green color, eventually changing to red and lavender. 'I know I've only done this once before, but now's a good time for a little beginner's luck' Videl thought. Gohan realized what she was doing and decided to counter with his own signature energy attack. "Kaaaaa-meeeee-haaaaa-meeeeeee-" he started chanting.
(Sidelines)
"What is Gohan thinking!?" Krillin shouted. "Don't worry Krillin. Gohan doesn't want to hurt Videl, but he also doesn't want her to be mad at him. This might be the best way for Gohan to win while still keeping her respect." Goku explained. "I guess, but you and Gohan have been known for not knowing your own strength. Remember when you guys wrecked the house?" Krillin reminded him. Goku chuckled putting his hand behind his head.
(Ring)
'I get it now Genkai.' Videl thought. 'My head wants me to believe I can handle anything on my own. But my heart is telling me that it doesn't hurt to have some backup. It's telling me that Gohan is a really nice guy and he could be a very reliable partner. My heart is telling me…I'm in love with Gohan!'
"Take this! Videl's Vigorus Spirit Burst!" Videl thrust her hands forward firing a swirl of red and light purple energy. "HAAAAA!" Gohan fired his signature attack and the two blasts collided. Videl's beam actually started to overtake Gohan's. 'What!? I must've held back to much power. Gotta kick it up!' Gohan poured more energy into his kame-wave. However, he consciously put in a large amount that made Gohan's beam easily engulf Videl's blast and eventually her with it.
The light finally died down revealing Gohan still in his firing pose, and Videl on the ground, out of the ring, her clothes notably singed. 'Oh no!' Gohan thought. Gohan quickly rushed over to the girl's side to check on her. "Videl are you alright?" Gohan asked. The young lady opened her eyes to see her friend standing over her offering her a hand. Videl took Gohan's hand and helped her to her feet.
"Well that's good sportsmanship if I've seen it. Not to mention good manners. As for the calling, Videl landed outside of the ring so, the winner of the match is Gohan!"
Winner: Gohan
Videl looked Gohan in the eye and asked. "Gohan, why were you holding back?" Gohan put his hand behind his head and answered, "Well, I…didn't want to, hurt you because…because…" Gohan stammered. "Because why?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Because…" "Gohan!" "Because I like you! A lot!" Gohan shouted. Videl froze. 'He…likes me!?' Gohan covered his mouth realizing what he had said, and turned away from her 'Ohhhh…crap baskets!' Videl stepped towards Gohan. He turned her way only to find her close to his face and feel something wet on his cheek. It took a few seconds for him to realize, she kissed him! It was Gohan's turn to freeze up. "Videl did you just-!?" he started. Videl cut him off and replied, "I like you too."
End of Chapter
(A/N: I hope you all enjoyed my lame attempt to be romantic and dramatic at the same time. Yeah…while I liked the battle between Gohan and Videl, the setup I put them in probably sucked…a lot. To make full sense of it, read the small revision I made last chapter. Also, about Krillin and S. Kai's fight, I tried to make it even-ish. It's unclear how strong Supreme Kai really is, but I know he's at least stronger than Krillin and Piccolo. Stay tuned folks. Next chapter is Kurama vs. Goku and Yusuke vs. Hiei. Leave a review)
PS: The reference last chapter was a reference to Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Adventure 2. I had Hiei say "It's time to put this to rest. Disappear!…." Anyone who's played the game would remember that Shadow says this when he uses Chaos Spear in the Final Hero Story Battle.
