Chapter 10

Motomiya Apartment:

Sanada Sango storms into the apartment of her daughter Kyoko, " MUSUME, YOU HAD BEST HAVE A DAMN GOOD REASON FOR WHY YOU TREATED A CHILD LIKE THAT OR SO HELP ME I WILL TAKE YOU OVER MY KNEE! "

Kyoko shudders as her mother storms over to her, " The boy is an idiot, he can never do anything right, why should I treat him decently? "

A resounding smack is heard, Sango had just slapped her daughter. " I know damn well I raised you better than this. Jun, your stuff will be packed up and shipped to my place. I am going to be re-educating you on how you treat people though hear this I will not tolerate the way you behave around your parents. "

Jun gulps and goes to her room, " Kyoko, you have dishonored our family and it will fall to your daughter to fix your monumental fuck up. "

Daiki scoffs, " There is nothing wrong with Jun's behavior. "

" Fine then I'll just give her to a Geisha or have her be a Lolicon model. " Sango retorts.

Digital World:

While Sango is dealing with her daughter and son-in-law Ishida Yamato is currently shivering fiercely. He'd ended up in one of the coldest places he could and Gabumon had barely been able to find enough wood to start a fire. It was at this moment that Matt truly appreciated how over prepared Serena had been for going to camp. He wished he had all that gear back. Luckily Gabumon had managed to find some edible roots and more wood. It was only the thought of how badly Serena would ream him out that kept Matt from heading out and trying to find TK. Matt decides to meditate to see if he could use his spiritual energy to warm himself up and stave off a cold.

Serena had been teaching TK and he'd overheard some of her lessons. Now was the time to capitalize on said lessons. Gabumon keeps the fire going while his partner goes on a journey of spiritual awareness. Thankfully they hadn't been attacked yet but, Gabumon knew it was only a matter of time. Only Serena seemed to be capable of taking care of herself with minimal interference from Renamon. Tai was also getting better at this. Gabumon could admit that they probably wouldn't have gotten as far as they did without Tai and Serena. Matt almost shouted out his success then he stops himself and focuses on keeping himself warm. He needed to get this to be second nature.

Cave:

Tai and those with him have resorted to guerilla warfare tactics in order to survive. There were way too many digimon in between them and the exit. Between Renamon and Falcomon they were making decent time getting out and taking out a few enemies as well. The more black gears they destroyed the better off they would all be. " Okay, Renamon, Falcomon, what's the current situation? "

" There's a batch of Golemon between us and our next stop. Golemon are champion level Metal Empire Virus Rock Type digimon. We'll need to watch out for the Sulfur Plume attack. " Renamon states.

" There are also some Gotsumon about, " Falcomon says, " They shouldn't be too much of a problem as they are being oppressed by the Golemon. "

" Take out the Golemon, free the Gotsumon, and then get the hell out of here. I am beginning to hate this cave. " Davis states.

" Seconded. We need to get out of here and then see if we can find the others. " Veemon states.

" It won't be easy as even in here we're hearing rumors about File Island being broken up. I do wonder if our digivices would allow for communication with the others. " Serena cautions them.

" It would be nice if we'd been given a manual on how to use them. " Tai grumbles.

" Nothing would ever be that easy and they'd probably be so filled with technical jargon that only Izzy would be able to understand them anyway. " Serena points out.

Tai sighs, she had a point with that, though they had figured out the tracking function and knew they could destroy black gears as well. Serena had taught them that one by sheer instinct. Working out the digivices functions had to be made a priority but, they also had to survive. Tai just hoped the others were all alright, otherwise this was not going to be easy. Hell, it wasn't easy as is but, having to explain to the parents how one of their kids died at summer camp. Yeah, he'd really rather not have to deal with that hassle.

" How are the Golemon set up? " Cutemon asks.

Renamon and Falcomon explain the way things are set up in the next cavern ahead of them and the only female human of the group frowns. " Kuso, how the hell do we work this one out? "

Tai had to admit she had a very good point. The set up made things extremely difficult for them. They had to protect and free the Gotsumon while dealing with the Golemon. " We need a distraction so a few of us can go free the Gotsumon. Once they're safe we can truly focus on the Golemon. "

" Well, Renamon will have to be a part of the distraction team while Falcomon and Cutemon are on the extraction team. Cutemon is our medic which means she has to be protected so Agumon you go with them. " Serena states.

" That means I'm with the distraction team, right? " Veemon asks.

" Correct, so am I. " Serena says.

" Davis and I will be the extraction members then. " Tai says.

" Indeed, we'll have to work this just right. " Renamon states.

Center:

Lord Fanglongmon snarls softly, entirely too many digimon were being subjugated due to the balance being out of whack. Damned Dark Masters for fucking everything up. The eighth digimon was working for Myotismon and he had the eighth crest as well. Well, Azulongmon's eighth chosen digimon anyhow. Calling Serena in had been smart and he'd no choice but to call Davis in. Reliability and Love had just finished dealing with the Bakemon while Knowledge and Sincerity had just reached the temple. This meant they would be able to free Centaurumon from the black gears and he could tell them more about their duty as digidestined. Gennai was trapped on Server and didn't dare contact the children until Devimon was defeated which left them scrambling around in the dark.

Hope and Leomon had ended up in Primary Village with Elecmon, hopefully they'd be able to protect the digi-eggs and babies. He was also hoping to hell that they could stop Myotismon here in the Digital World. If not then Digiworld would be left without protection while they defended their home from Myotismon. Maybe he should call a few more children but, no with the addition of Tenacity and Miracles they would manage to completely delete Apocalymon.

Friendship was in a tough place and Frigimon was currently being controlled by a black gear. Fanglongmon knew he'd need to do something about that. Maybe send in an Icemon or two to make sure Friendship survived and reached the final battle with Devimon in time.

Cave:

" Diamond Storm! "

" Vee Headbutt! "

" Spirit Whip! "

Renamon, Veemon, and Serena all set to work garnering the attention of the Golemon and then keeping it. Meanwhile Tai and the others work on quietly freeing the Gotsumon, Cutemon healing those she could. Serena spins around a Rock Punch attack and enhances her leg with spirit energy, nailing a Golemon with a devastating roundhouse kick, sending that Golemon careening into another one. No way in hell were they going to…Serena whips around in time to get nailed with Quagmire Twister. Serena winces even as she manages to turn a flip and change her momentum, " Renamon digivolve to…Youkomon! Jaenryu! "

" Me thinks you too dumb to know you lose. I be Gigasmon. "

" Beast of Earth, big deal. " Youkomon retorts. Tai and the others had freed the Gotsumon by this time and they had all run away save for one. This Gotsumon stays with them and helps to protect Cutemon. Serena reaches into her backpack and pulls out several chocolate bars and starts downing them. The twelve year old just finishes her last one and pulls off a backwards somersault to avoid an attack. She was back up and fighting, she and Veemon were dealing with the Golemon while Youkomon dealt with Gigasmon.

Serena snarls and defeats one enemy before helping Veemon with another while firing off a spirit chakram towards Gigasmon, removing an arm. Youkomon pounces at the opportunity afforded to her by her partner and manages to defeat Gigasmon by using something similar to Kyuubimon's Dragon Wheel attack. Then she helps to clear out the rest of the Golemon. All three of the distraction team drop after they're safe, " That was not easy. " Veemon mutters.

Cutemon goes to Renamon first, then Serena, and finally Veemon while Tai takes off her backpack and they eat up. They had to keep their strength up after all.
