Thanks for the review, guys! I will definitely try to update this more often than I do right now!
"When is Spencer going to be home?" Paige asked curiously from her position on the couch. She drew her eyes away from the television for a moment to glance at Emily who was huddled close to her side. "I thought she finished her shift early tonight."
"She did, she said she was going to the library to pick a couple of books up." Emily turned to Paige, teasingly prodding her in the side. "What? Isn't my company good enough for you? Do you need someone more capable of stimulating your intellect?"
Paige laughed under her breath and shook her head. "Not at all, I was just wondering where she was because she's usually back by now. You know I worry when either of you are out late. This neighbourhood isn't the best, remember?"
"Yeah." Emily murmured, more focused on the first part of Paige's sentence than the last part. She sighed and shifted back into her previous position, her head pillowed on Paige's arm.
Paige frowned, worried that she'd said the wrong thing but she forced herself to focus on the movie again. Emily did this sometimes, she just got quiet without warning and although Paige worried about it, she knew that Emily always went back to normal after a while. She exhaled softly and reached up to lightly comb her fingers through Emily's thick dark hair.
"Spencer thinks that I'm starting to remember things." She said conversationally. "She said that my memories are being triggered by things that happen. Like how I knew she would have a headache last week and I brought her those pills? She said it's possible that I don't even know when I'm remembering things."
"Is that why you're waiting for Spencer to get home?" Emily asked, curiously lifting her head. "You remembered something else?"
"Just trivial things." Paige answered bashfully. "Spencer said that she wants to know about everything though. Something about how telling someone else will help me retain the memories."
Emily fondly rolled her eyes. That did sound like something Spencer would say. "You know, I am capable of listening too. You could tell me."
"I know." Paige said quickly, not wanting Emily to get the wrong idea. "It's just that some of it is kind of…intimate? Not that I would tell Spencer about that either, I just…I don't know if it would be weird for me to tell you these things."
For the most part, Emily had stopped listening after the word 'intimate'. "What kind of intimate things? Like you mean you remember having sex?"
"Not really. I mean yes…there was a flash but I don't really remember anything, just how it made me feel." Paige awkwardly rubbed the back of her neck. "Like when I kissed Hanna. That triggered something but I didn't see the memory, I felt it."
Emily couldn't help but scowl at the thought of Paige kissing Hanna. Apparently Paige noticed because she looked suddenly sheepish.
"Can I ask you something?" Paige asked, shifting slightly closer to Emily on the couch. She waited for a nod before she continued quietly. "Why were you so upset about Hanna kissing me?"
"W-Well she was taking advantage of you." Emily stuttered out her answer, having not expected to be asked that. "That's why I was angry with her. There's no other reason."
"You weren't angry with her." Paige countered softly. "I mean you were but that's not all. You were upset about it too."
Emily glanced down at her lap. "It's complicated. I guess things just built up and overwhelmed me that day."
"Okay." Paige decided not to push the topic any further. She thoughtlessly trailed her fingers along Emily's arm, which was resting on the back of the couch. Her brow furrowed in thought. "It's weird…being like this, I mean. I feel like there's something just out of reach. Like I'm forgetting vital parts of my life but I just can't grasp what those things are. Do you know what I mean?"
Emily nodded, trying to ignore the goose bumps that sprung up on her arm. "It sounds frustrating."
"It is, sometimes." Paige gave a small shrug. "Mostly it's just confusing. I can't feel bad about things I don't know I'm missing, can I?"
"I guess not." Emily whispered sadly.
"And I have you and Spencer." Paige continued with a warm smile. "You guys make everything easier to deal with."
"We don't really do much." Emily replied, unconsciously sliding closer to Paige. "You're dealing with everything just fine on your own."
"No, Emily…" Paige lightly touched Emily's shoulder. "I'm serious, you've been amazing. Both of you have. I don't know what I would do without you. I want you to know that I'm grateful for everything you've done for me."
"I know." Emily whispered, reaching up to gently cup Paige's cheek in her hand. She trailed her thumb over Paige's bottom lip, only just realizing exactly how close they were. If she were to lean forward by a couple of inches she'd be able to kiss Paige. But she shouldn't. It wasn't a good idea. The decision was taken from her hands when Paige closed the distance between them and kissed her gently. Emily stiffened for a moment in surprise but she didn't hesitate to return the kiss, her lips moving gently against Paige's. She'd missed the simple feeling of kissing her.
Paige pulled back for a moment but Emily followed her, pressing her back into the couch.
"It's okay." She whispered before kissing Paige again. The kiss was less tentative than the last and Emily teased Paige's lips with her tongue, requesting access that was quickly granted. She moaned softly as her tongue slipped past Paige's lips. After months of not kissing Paige she couldn't help but take as much as she could get, her hand slipping to the back of Paige's neck to draw her closer.
Paige whimpered softly in response, the sound causing Emily to shudder. The kiss felt so foreign to her, yet so familiar at the same time. Her hands slipped under Emily's shirt, coming into contact with warm skin and her brain finally caught up with what she was doing. She pulled back with a startled gasp and pushed Emily away.
"Oh my God…I'm so sorry, Emily." She apologized, her hand moving to her tingling lips. She bolted off the couch, taking a stumbling step back. "I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I don't know what I was thinking."
"Paige, it's okay." Emily reached out and grabbed Paige's hand before she could get too far away. "You didn't do anything I didn't want you to do. Come back here."
Paige blinked at Emily in confusion. "You wanted me to kiss you?"
Emily nodded, running her thumb over the soft skin of Paige's inner wrist. "I still want you to kiss me."
"B-but Spencer…" Paige pulled her hand away and ran a hand through her hair. Emily wanted her to kiss her. How was that even possible? Emily loved Spencer. Paige knew that to be a fact. "I-I have to go. I'm sorry. I have to go."
"Where are you going?" Emily asked, quickly standing up from the couch. "You live here. Paige, I know you're freaking out right now but let's just sit down and talk about this. It's…"
"I'm going to Hanna's." Paige didn't dare look in Emily's direction. She was worried that if she did she would go over there and kiss her again. She couldn't hurt Spencer like that. She wasn't sure why Emily was willing to hurt Spencer like that, it was completely unlike her. "I'll stay with her. I think that's for the best."
"Paige, please listen to me…" Emily stepped around the couch and reached out to Paige, only to have her pull back. "It's not what you think. This isn't me cheating on Spencer, I…"
"Emily, stop!" Paige's voice was louder than she had planned and it worked to surprise Emily into silence. Paige looked up, her eyes brimming with tears. "I'm leaving."
Emily watched Paige turn around and walk to the door and hurried to choke out a protest. "Paige, don't go. I can explain. This is just a misun…" she trailed off when the apartment door slammed shut. "Misunderstanding."

When Spencer returned home an hour or so later, she was surprised to find Emily sitting on the couch, a glass of what looked to be wine loosely in her hand. Paige was nowhere in sight.
"Emily?" Spencer cast the books aside, tentatively moving towards Emily. Noticing tear tracks on her girlfriend's cheeks she took a seat next to her. "Hey, what's wrong? Where's Paige?"
Emily sniffled softly. "I fucked up, Spencer. I really fucked up."
"What do you mean?" Spencer glanced around to see if anything was amiss. The only thing she noticed was that Paige was missing. "Did Paige go to bed already? Did you get into an argument?"
"She kissed me." Emily dashed at the tears on her cheeks. She noticed Spencer flinch slightly, obviously in surprise. "Yeah, it surprised me too. I kissed her back." She lifted the glass in her hand, taking a long drink. "I really kissed her back."
"Emily, where is Paige?" Spencer asked cautiously. "She's still here, isn't she? Right? Please tell me she's still in the apartment."
"No." Emily shook her head. "She left. She said she was going to stay with Hanna and she left."
"Oh shit." Spencer muttered, a sinking feeling of dread forming in her stomach. "This isn't good. W-we have to get her back, we have to talk to her. Did you explain to her that she didn't do anything wrong?"
"Of course I did!" Emily snapped irritably, finally turning towards Spencer. "Well I tried. She freaked out. She wouldn't let me say anything and then she just left and now everything is a mess and we've probably lost her for good because I couldn't control my stupid hormones!"
"Emily," Spencer reached out and gently took the glass from Emily's hand. She placed it on the table before grasping both of Emily's hands in her own. "This isn't your fault. We knew this was going to happen eventually, whether it be because of something you did or something I did. We expected this."
Emily sniffled, fresh tears springing to her eyes. "How are you so calm? She's gone, Spencer. She's probably never going to come near me again. And you know Paige, she's going to feel horrible because she thinks she's betrayed you or something."
"We're going to get her back." Spencer said softly. Emily scoffed in disbelief and Spencer squeezed the hands in her own. "I mean it. This isn't as bad as you think. We can work with this."
"We can work with this?!" Emily echoed sceptically. "Spencer, this isn't something we can manipulate to work in our favour. I screwed up with her."
"We'll fix it." Spencer repeated firmly. "Because for once, we're going to forget about the lies and the tactics and we're going to be honest with her. What do we have to lose?"
"Her?" Emily whispered morosely.
Spencer smiled sadly and leaned up to press a comforting kiss to Emily's forehead. "It's going to be okay, Em. We can fix this."
"Where are you going?" Emily reached up to wipe the tears from her eyes.
"To call Hanna." Spencer answered simply.

"Hanna's going to want to know what's wrong when we get back." Caleb said, casting Paige a sidelong glance. She'd called him to ask him to come and pick her up but since she'd gotten in the car she hadn't given him a single detail about what had happened. All she'd said was that she needed somewhere to stay because she couldn't live with Spencer and Emily anymore. "She doesn't drop things as easily as I do."
"I know." Paige said softly. She subtly wiped her eyes and looked toward Caleb. "How far are we from your house?"
"About two minutes." Caleb replied. "Do you want to practice your excuses on me? Or do want some ideas Hanna's likely to believe? I know she can be kind of overbearing."
Paige managed a small smile at that. "No, it's okay. I'm just going to tell her the truth. I don't want to lie to her."
"Well, okay." Caleb took a left turn onto his street. "She's worried about you. Does she have a reason to be?"
Paige lowered her eyes to her lap and didn't answer.
Caleb sighed and turned into the driveway. He parked and shut off the car before getting out of the car. If Paige wouldn't open up to him, maybe she would open up to Hanna. He placed a hand on her lower back and led her to the front door. As soon as they entered the house, Hanna burst out from the living room.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Paige. She noticed the tears on her cheeks and hugged her tightly. "What happened?"
"I'll be upstairs." Caleb said, brushing past them. He headed up the stairs, wanting to give them as much privacy as possible.
"Come on." Hanna led Paige into the living room and sat down on the couch with her. "What's going on? Did you get into an argument with Emily and Spencer?"
Paige nodded, trying not to give into her emotions. "Can I stay here for a few days? Until I find something else."
"You can stay here indefinitely." Hanna countered with a shake of her head. "But seriously, what's happening? Why can't you stay with…" she trailed off at the sound of ringing and reached out to grab her phone from the coffee table. "It's Spencer."
"She probably knows." Paige said anxiously. "Emily probably told her what happened. She's going to be furious with me."
Hanna stared at Paige for a long moment before she ended the call and turned her phone off. "Okay, what did you do?"
"I-I kissed Emily." Paige stuttered out, her tone laced with guilt. "And she kissed me back. She said that she wanted me to kiss her. That she wanted me to kiss her again."
"So what's the problem?" Hanna frowned, confused by the situation. "Why didn't you just go with it? You told me you had feelings for Emily."
Paige looked appalled. "Emily and Spencer. I have feelings for both of them. If I kept going with Emily, I would have been betraying Spencer and…"
"Okay, this is getting ridiculous." Hanna stood up from the couch. "Come on."
"What?" Paige blinked in confusion. "Where are we going?"
"We're going for a drive." Hanna reached down and tugged Paige to her feet. "Just trust me, okay?"
"Okay." Paige whispered unsurely. She didn't protest when Hanna led her from the room and headed for the front door.
