You walked in the door, clicking it shut after holding it open for the other person coming home with you.

You didn't get a chance to react before there were smuppets all over you, their plush rumps rubbing across your arms and face.

The butts...

...they called for you.

You scrambled out and away from the pile of puppets, only to notice your guest giving you a quirked eyebrow and an odd look.

"Ignore it dude, its norm- BRO WHAT THE HELL?!" You shrieked, feeling yourself becoming weightless before landing on the couch. Bro towered over you, his face passive. He jerked his head towards the other student.

"Who's that?"

"That's Karkat. The boyfriend I told you was coming today," you deadpanned. His eyebrows furrowed.

"Shit, that was today?" Your eyes rolled, but nobody saw it.

"Yeah."

After you were discharged from the hospital, Bro pulled you out of Sburb High and enrolled you in Skaia Academy across town. It was a private school, but it wasn't like you couldn't afford it. Bro was hella rich. With your 'new kid' status, your shades, and the mysterious aura you naturally gave off, nobody dared to get on your bad side. People approached you for no other reason than to talk to you. You went from being a nobody to becoming the popular, mysterious cool kid in about a month. You quickly got over John. He was too far gone with Vriska, and he was a passing crush anyway.

It was one of the lonely kids that had caught your eye. He was fairly short, with brown eyes and messy black hair. You sat with him at lunch one day- easy, since he was the only one at a table by himself- and introduced yourself. The rest was history.

Bro stared at you a few seconds longer before turning and walking over to your guest. He seemed to scrutinize the shorter male for a while, with Karkat staring back up at him defiantly.

The difference in their heights was hilarious.

Eventually, the elder Strider let out a small 'hm', and smirked.

"Just use protection." Karkat blushed bright red and your jaw dropped, feeling warmth spread to your face as well.

"BRO!" His smirk grew into a full grin, a rarity in itself. It made his whole face look much warmer. Karkat had his face in his hands, blushing profusely.

"Just go to your room, lovebirds."

"Shut up asshole, I'm going!" You gently grabbed your boyfriend's wrist and led him to your room. The door closed behind you with a click and you groaned in frustration. The other boy had brought his face out of his hands and was staring at you from his position on your bed, his face still dusted with rose color.

"Your brother is weird." You pull a face.

"Not as weird as your escapade with the mashed potato spit take."

"You asshole! I thought we agreed to never mention that again!" A smirk made itself known on your face.

"Oh, really? I never agreed to that." His glare would have made you heart drop if you hadn't known it was playful. You faux-glared at him back.

"I'm gonna fucking kill you, you insufferable shitstain."

"Bring it on, Karkitty."

You two were locked in an intense staredown, his eyes never leaving yours, and vice versa. Karkat's mouth thinned into a line, and his eyes lit up in amusement. Your lip twitched.

The room was filled with laughter and you doubled over, wheezing. Karkat had leaned back on your bed, laying down with his arm thrown over his eyes, body shaking with laughter.

When the both of you calmed down, you plopped down right next to him on the bed, laying back to where your head was right beside his and your shoulders touched. You turned you head to look at him, and he looked back, a smile still lingering on his face.

"What are you looking at, asshole?"

"You know, Karkles, I can't figure it out either." He playfully pushed you away and began to sit up. You grabbed his wrist and pulled him back down, closing the space between your lips.

Yeah.

Life is great.
